....it is called 'false flag' in intelligence parlance, since cameroun has become the new heaven of boko-haram group and after much diplomatic moves by Nigerian government to make camerounian authorities see reason why these inglorious bastards shld be flushed, seemed to have failed. The intelligence community choose option 'B',disguise and hit the gendarmes in a boko-haram fashion and all hell will be let loose...My gratitude goes to the Nigerian intelligence community and the reactionary cameronian gendarmes!!!
I like the bold part. In fact, so many things we have not been considering are actually 'false flag'. At the risk of not derailing the topic, may I say that they are quite many in the advertising and PR industry. I even red some articles after the 9/11 event of how the Isreales used 'false flag' to buy America to there side.
EducationI Need The List Of Private Schools In All The 36 States In Nigeria, Except Lagos by mbhs139(op): 12:14am On Sep 27, 2013
Please house, I need, or how I can get, the list of private schools in all the 36 states in Nigeria except that of Lagos. I already have Lagos.

I'm ready to pay anybody who can get it for me.

Thank you.

shortgun: So what are they saying undecided

This write-up is supposedly coming from professors, doctors, phd holders e.t.c, yet one cannot make sense of the article.

I've always said, the problems of Education in Nigeria is with the Lecturers and managers of our Universities.

How come the road side mechanics, bricklayers, carpenters are able to train their apprentices to become experts and in turn train others, yet our lecturers with their doctorate degrees n ph.ds cannot produce a graduate who can create job for himself not to talk of creating employment for others.
...and the worst part is that when a young person tries to create one for his/her self, it is these same set of people that tries to kill your idea. I'm referring to one particular professor who manages university consultancy services. She has been taking me through serious pains.

@mama oringo, What lagos need to do is to sponsor a bill dat will recognised lagos as a special state but i doubt if the bill will succed until lagos is reverted to its status as a former capital without indigene- and settler dichotomy. I mean lagos should remain on her own like abuja with fct minister without a governor.
Well, what can one say at the bolded? Even when Lagos was the capital, the bolded was never in place, it never happened.

My uncle once told me that it is not the whole of Lagos that was the federal capital, that was why you have places being refered to as 'Eko Federal' then. He said the Federal Capital stops at somewhere along Moshalashi, on your way from Ojuelegba, along Western Avenue (after the bridge) in-ward Mushin and towards Ikorodu on the Ikorodu Road.

Even in Abuja, there are still indigenes there (please excuse my spelling, even the computer wont correct it). I doubt if it is the whole of Abuja that is regarded and treated in truth, fairly and squarely as the FCT.

nnocurruption: Mr world traveller some countries do not practice this besides, there are billions of things that are already wrong about Nigeria that needs to be right before thinking about registering people in their respective states of residence. All am saying is that fashola should set his priority right, but Nigerian leaders only know the meaning of the word "priority" they don't understand it that is why they think legalising child marriage is what Nigeria needs. Dumb ass leaders they think like children grin
You should have at least take the lead by telling us what those priorities are.

I honestly don't see anything wrong in this exercise as some of you on this forum wants us to believe. Besides, the exercise is free. So, why all these noise. And it is called RESIDENTS card not tribal or national census card.

You see people, for the first time in so many years, I really took my time, this very early morning, to read every single comments made on this thread and I can't but less agree with some of the 'for' and some of the 'againt' divide on weather we should pray for the repose of the soul of our dead politicians or not.

However, let me suggest something. What about me being the judge here (a self appointed judge) while you will give your argument (like a lawyer) on why you think 'we should (for) or should not (against)' speak ill about dead politicians. And at the end of the exercise, I will pass my judgement by making reference to some of the strongest arguments on both sides without any prejudice. Isn't that a great idea? Let's try it if you don't mind.

Female UNILAG Law School Graduate Arrested For Armed Robbery In Lagos

Chioma claimed that she graduated from UNILAG in 1999, was called to the bar in 2000, and owns a Non-Governmental Organisation, Youth of All Nations Empowerment Association. But authorities of the University of Lagos said she did graduate from that institution.
First and foremost, what's the fuse about graduating from Unilag 'gat' to do with the fact that she may have committed a crime? Didn't the 'Pen-Robbers' at the helms of affairs in this graduated from one University or the other? In fact, some of them even went to the prestigious Harvard and Cambridge Universities only to turn out to be worst than armed robbers. Does it mean that that was what they were taught in school? I beg free UNILAG on this one jare.

At the bolded, I think this story was culled from a News Paper publication- PM News. It is a shame, a very big shame, that a news paper house could not proof read its news content before going to press and giving us this nonsense.

The bolded said the lady in question '...did graduated' while they meant to say '... did not ...'

In fact, the last time I bought this same PM News, sometime last week, they carried a lead story with the caption: 'Cleric Shoot Self Dead', while someone said it is supposed to be: 'Cleric Shot Self Dead'. I go with that person's version, I think that's correct.

I thought the Lagos State Government has always and consistently argue that it can service and is servicing its debt?
By the way, is this not suppose to be a report compiled in 2011? Well, the picture painted might still be the same though, or may have even changed for the worse given past precedence in Nigeria's system of Governance.

Anyway, I want to believe Lagos is up to the task.
PoliticsRe: Molue Banned From Lagos Island by mbhs139(m): 9:48am On Sep 06, 2013
Delafruita: i didn't see a challenge so I wonder why you choose to term someone a lackey for stating the reality.the. Reality is there are very few molues currently in lagos because most people have chosen to go along with the BRT which is more covenient and equally affordable.there Is hardly any route where the molue is cheaper that BRT.so what difference does it make if the haphazard looking molues are eradicated?the drivers can be absorbed into the BRT sceheme besides the molues haven't even been eradicated.just restricted to certain areas
I can't even remember the last time I saw a molue, as in a typical molue, on Lagos road talkless of boarding one. Another interesting angle to this whole thing is that I wonder when was the last time any of the people castigating the Governor has taken molue, even if they had ever done so before.

By the way, I think it was also in the news that the Government had an agreement with the bus owners, during the introduction of the BRT scheme, that there is going to be a phase withdrawal of Molue on Lagos roads, which is what they they have now started.

And for those clamouring for molue drivers, I don't think they can be out of job, because the restriction (not ban) was not abruptly announced or passed to them, it was a systematic implementation. They most, I mean the wise one among them, have taken the right steps in that regard. Mind you, more LagBus are being added every now and then and it is these drivers that are engaged to drive them

Finally, this takes me to the way and manner news are being reported in this country lately, particularly when it concerns Lagos and Fashola. First, it was 'deportation' when actually it was 'repatriation' or 'uniting them with their family'. Now it is 'banned' when actually it is restriction to certain areas of the state.

In conclusion, Lagos has always been in the news as if Lagos is the only State in Nigeria. It simply shows that somebody somewhere in Lagos is actually doing is job.

deeptesting: I am happy someone has brought the attention of Nigerians to the deplorable state of roads in Alimosho Local Government Area..The submission of the reporter is nothing but a perfect condition of the people living in that area, the worst case scenario is your attempt to connect Cele Bus Stop from Ikotun in the morning..It is not just about the award of contracts on paper and some shallow minds will be celebrating; it is about the completion of such projects within a reasonable time to alleviate the suffering of the people..This is the same issue with the Buknor-Ijegun road been handled by HI-TECH or HI-ALOMO,which has been under construction for over 6 years without any visible progress..BRF should come to the aid of these communities and award contracts to competent contractors and not charlatans.
At the bolded above is not true! Yes, it is not because you make it sound as if Alimosho is a deliberately forgotten and forsaken LG by the present administration!

First and foremost, let me tell you that in as much as it is being stated everywhere that Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola is working, let it interest you that I, as one of his ardent supporters, also recognizes the fact that there some areas and places that more effort is still needed to be channeled to. The over 4,600 roads (provided that figure is right by my reconing can not be fixed in one swoop, giving the fact that there are other pressing and demanding issues government need to attend to within the limited resources. These includes health and education.

Be that as it may, and back to your erroneous assertion that all the roads in Alimosho are bad, please I beg you pardon an ask you to stand to be corrected, since it appears to you Iyana Ejigbo, which the poster mischievously said was
between Cele-Express and Ikotun, but which is actually between Jakande Gate and Ile-Epo bus stop on your way to Egbe, is not the only road in Alimosho. As a matter of fact, it is one of the numerous which is still under construction.

Have you, by chance driven from, let's say, Dopemu (because I assume that's where Alimosho starts from) to this same Iyana-Ejigbo, en route Ikotun-Egbe, and see what the roads are like in these areas? Please try to do so for you to see that your claim below

deeptesting: the deplorable state of roads in Alimosho Local Government Area
is not true.

Let me conclude by saying that it is not the state's responsibility to fix your inner roads. Please contact your LCDA or LG chairman.

All I can notice in your comment so far is some sort of inconsistency and hatred for the state and the man Fashola.
For anyone to claim that Lagos and Lagosians life has not changed since the inception of this administration gives credence to my earlier assertion as portrayed vividly by you.

The fact of the matter, like someone stated earlier, is that Lagos is not there yet, but it is gradually getting there with this type of steady movement. Christianity EtcA Final Word To Femi Fani-kayode And Others On Child Marriage. by mbhs139(op): 11:20pm On Jul 28, 2013
If you tell a lie one hundred times, it does not become a truth, all it becomes is a lie told a hundred times. As Mahatma Gandhi said: An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it.

Did you just wake up? Did you never before know of these provisions in the constitution and occurrences across Nigeria since forever?

No, not what you said Femi, nor what much of the junk media propagated, the senate did not pass any child marriage bill on July 16th.

Again, not the calumniation you proliferate, the senate did not approve child marriage by failing to delete Section 29 (4)(b), they only retained as ingrained in the constitution, a married young woman's right to renounce her citizenship for purposes which include but are not limited to asylum seeking and foreign spouse related travel.

Again, no, Femi Fani-Kayode, there is no Muslim law that permits sex with children.

Emphasis: Islam is vehemently against sex with children and Islam does not permit pedophilia.

Education and Information: Sex with anyone who is post-pubertal is not pedophilia. Pedophilia is defined as: A person who has a sustained sexual orientation toward pre-pubertal children.

Fact on culture: 78% of marriages in north Nigeria are to women below the age of 18. (Most wise people know that protests and threats never change culture or religion.)
Fact on culture: 70% of marriages in Mali are to women below the age of 18. (And Mali does not have Nigeria's peculiar VVF explosive crises)

Fact: The age of marriage in south Nigeria is generally set at 16.

Fact: The age of marriage for girls in the Vatican is set at 14 as per the code of canon law.

Facts: In the US, the age of marriage in New York is 14, New Hampshire is 13, North Carolina is 14, Rhode Island has no minimum age, Tennessee has no minimum age, Washington state has no minimum and Pennsylvania has no minimum age.

Facts: Minimum age of marriage in Spain is 14 (2013 now 16), Greece 16, Albania, 16, Austria 16, Denmark 15, Georgia 15, Lithuania 15, Poland, 16, Romania 16, England and Wales 16, Sweden 15, Canada 15, Slovenia 15, Ireland and Iceland - none, Serbia 16, Slovenia 15.

Fact: USA refused to sign the UN declaration of the rights of a child.

Fact: Old age also is a great risk of fistula; and the total prevalence of fistulae is 188 per 100,000 women aged 15 to 49 years in South Saharan Africa. Pierre Marie Tebeu et al, Int Urogynecol J. 2012

Fact: Seven primary risk factors for obstetrical fistula commonly reported include the place of birth and presence of a skilled birth attendant, the duration of labor and the use of a partograph, the lack of prenatal care, early marriage and young age at delivery, older age, lack of family planning, and a number of other poorly defined additional factors... Pierre Marie Tebeu et al, Int Urogynecol J. 2012

Fact: US has 500,000 teen pregnancies per year and 4000 girls get pregnant at age 12 and no age-related fistulae.

Nota bene: Human beings are not tinned tomato with 'best before' or 'expiration date,' and as hence, 18 can in no logical or physiological way, be the magical date that a child becomes an adult.

Nota bene: 18 is not a date enforced under the child rights UN act. It is only a recommended date; to maintain signatory to the act, a state can adopt an age of choice as its age of majority, above or below 18.

Nota bene: Biologically, medically and culturally, adulthood is defined as the attainment of sexual and social maturity, and is variable inter and intra-specie. A 13 year post pubertal man may not yet be intellectually mature just as a 52 year old man may not be deemed mature if he still acts intellectually and socially pediatric.

Popular consensus of the blesseds: Mary was 12 when she was betrothed to 90 year old Joseph, and God gave her Jesus when she was ~12-16.

Medical facts:

Teen pregnancy does not cause vesico or recto-vaginal fistula, lack of nearby quality obstetric care does.

Teen pregnancy reduces the risk/rate of breast cancer by 50%. Repeat, 50%!

Between teens and thirties, fertility rate drops by as much as 40%!

The body copes better and recovers more perfectly after teen birth, compared to old birth.

Social facts:

There are 2 teen pregnancies in south Nigeria for every 8 in the north.

#WomanNotCommodity

Aristo's are men who line up with their cars at Moremi and other campus halls to predate on and rump peoples teen and older daughters.

#WomanNotCommodity

All the thousands of teens and twenty year old girls that patrol the streets all over Nigeria, risking and selling their bodies to men, are people's daughters; repeat, they are people's daughters, and are the greatest threat to womanhood in Nigeria at present.

#WomanNotCommodity

81% of Nigerian women suffer from domestic violence, including wife murdering which is very prevalent and almost exclusive to southern parts of Nigeria.

The right to life: Abortion crises in Nigeria is a great threat to our women as well as murder of babies. This is a clear cause for address.

In conclusion.

There is no problem with Nigeria having this conversation in a mature, respectable productive format, on our women, their rights including age, opportunity, marriage and domestic violence related. But there is absolutely no reason for these childish rants and hopeless cheap-publicity seeking campaigns.

Nigeria is just--thank God--finally putting a lid on Boko Haram ethno-tensive risky violence. We are dealing with the second worst high sea piracy in the world, with the worst government in the world. Nigeria is the worst place to be born. If anything, married males should also be included in the provision and granted the rights of renunciation. And perhaps also, our purer teens should be allowed to vote, maybe this will save us from the stupid choices our adults vote into power. No law was broken in the events of the fateful senate meeting of July 16, neither law of God, nor law of man was violated. Do you wish a law to be violated? Do you wish senators to vote against the desires of their constituents who elected them to office? Why do Nigerians love and promote lawlessness? Due process was followed that fateful day. Why do we not first go after the millions of actual legal violations in the government and community that are clear and present government terror, than continue peddling this preposterous, gelastic, harebrained misinformation and misconstruction of events of the proceedings, with only aim, to attack 80% of northern marriages and in effect incite ethnic distrust? What a sorry nation with the most misplaced revolutions in history. They say lawyers are liars. I hardly believe. And so also, I refuse to believe the caution that actresses should always be suspected of being in performance.

I am not sure the world started in Nigeria, so why must the apocalypse begin from Nigeria? I rest my case on this ludicrous distraction and hereby return to the issues of 5>27 and 16>19, child and teenage numbers, surpassing adult numbers. And perhaps also, our purer teens should be allowed to vote, maybe this will save us from the stupid choices our adults vote into power.
