Honestly, I have not seen anything that the man, Rotimi, said wrong in that interview. He was simply stating the matter the way it is while not trying to be specific. For those of you shouting washing dirty linen in the public, whose dirty linen is that if I may ask? Does it mean or do you guys accept that the president is playing dirty? |
The way some people talk about Islam and describes Muslims on this thread is as if they have never met a Muslim nor had anything nor any good experience with a Muslim before. And this are supposedly educated people. One is not surprised; it is only natural for people to feel this way given the present reality on ground. As a Muslim, we are going through a lot of challenges at the moment due to the few bad eggs among us. But In Sha Allah, we shall come out of this for good. Allah in His Mercy will see us through. That I know for sure! |
Paentera: Western Region stopped at present day Maryland, so places like Ikeja were part of WR. Yaba was part of Lagos just like Ebute Meta, Palmgrove and the likes naptu2: The boundary was at Jibowu. The above by naptu2 is the correct version. |
I wonder what being eloquent and compose got to do with the interview and matter at hand. Why didn't you people focus on the subject matter; what he said and what he failed to say. And for those of you saying Rotimi should listen to his Oga, let me remind you that even the Vice Chancellor of a University does not Lord it over other members of staff because he's not their employee. They are all employed the same way with the VC. He only holds that position in trust. Same goes to Amaechi and GEJ: They were both vote seekers, who were rightfully voted for in their respective capacity as Governor and President. No one of them can Lord it over the other. Except in constitutional matters. At least, you people did Government in WAEC, haba! |
Nwa Teacher: Amaechi, you better go and reconcile with your master than to be running around, spending River State money for rubbish publicity. Why can't you be humble for a day. What impact has BBC interview you went for has for a common River State man? How many Rivers can afford watching BBC news in their home? Is the BBC publicity for who, for what?See level of intelligence ... God! |
Ilaje Omuro: Why must you guys advertise your ignorance and uncouth attitude on a public space like this. I lecture in Nigeria's Premier University and got my PhD seven years ago, but my monthly salary, basic plus allowances is N176,000. No professor earn N500,000 a month for your information.Just as the bolded too are not true. I can tell you authoritatively too that with the first bolded, you can't earn less than N300,000 a month. I know this because I work in the cooperative office of one of Nigeria's university and I see their pay slip almost everyday. Even that of a professor is beyond what I have just quoted. Please stop misinforming the public to gain their sympathy. |
infoscope: You just showed us how dumb you are. If your lecturers at FUTA are dumb, my at FUTO are definitely not. What is this one saying? Wharay re o! |
philips70: The points raised by the learned lady are not even the main issue about that facebook write-up posted on twitter by El-Rufai. You guys need to read it and go over all the comments mostly made by Muslims. You will be so shocked the North is filled with many Yerimas. The poor lady got the bashing of her life by thick skinned religious bigots. Mehn, after reading all that I hated the more Sir Fredrick Lord Lugard and all his cohorts. This is obviously a nation of many countries. I do not believe I belong to the same nation with those speakers. No, not at all. I personally place a curse on anyone who covertly or openly go against the division of this so called country. I just urge everyone to read all of that including the comments and you will see that there will never be an end to boko haram insurgency no matter the efforts of the JTF.Why not give us a link so that we can as well read. If the child is stunted in its first 1000 days, that condition is irreversible, so the future of these children, and the larger population, is permanently shortchanged. The health and nutritional needs of mothers, new-borns and children are closely linked, with young mothers accounting for a majority of severely malnourished childrenThis shocked me! |
I am guilty of all. In fact, there are others not listed, name it: even broom picked on the toilet floor. I once had an infection but would still not stop. Stupid boy! I am. |
The University of Lagos, has appointed Dr (Mrs) Taiwo Folashade Ipaye as the new registrar of the university. The appointment takes effect from the 1st of August, 2013. Dr (Mrs) Ipaye will take over from the outgoing registrar, Mr Oluwarotimi Shodimu (Esq) More details soon. |
dabrake: Let me help CFCFan rephrase that statement. NO goalkeeper, dead, alive and unborn will save Forlan's shot.I don't believe this story to be true because Ike as goalkeeper trainer can not save this type of shot during his time. No keeper could have. This goal is no where near the one Casillas conceded against Brazil. |
The point is you don't go to a mini-world cup to test new players. If you agree with that, then you agree with Oliseh. I don't know what those criticizing Oliseh has against him? |
rozayx5: This is what companies should be encouraging ( self development) and not big brother rubbishAnd you think all these Project Fame, Nigerian Idol and the X-Factors of these world is by mistake? You haven't seen nothing until they turn all our able bodied African young men into singing robots in the name of singing to fame. |
pro01: Who gives a bleep about a puppet's academic or professional background? What will he do as governor that would not require Tinubu's express permission? Why can't he subject himself to the democratic process of primaries to sell his so-called 'technocracy' to the electorate? Is he the most educated man in Lagos?..and who told you there would not be a primary election? All of you shouting imposition don't know your left from your right. Awon mad people!!! |
bigpips: The first two pictures is that of the Crown Prince welcoming the Oba of Lagos. The Last Pic is that of the Oba of Benin seated. He is 90 yrs old.You are wrong bro. The same person is in the same all pics. The Oba of Benin don't seat nor see eye-ball to eye-ball with another Oba. It's a taboo. |
splashbaby: He never sleeps outside the palace...a day off is only allowed with special reasons! I hope I'm right though!.Not really. He doesn't see eye-ball to eye-ball with another Oba. That's the more reason he doesn't leave the palace nor other Obas pays him a visit. It gat to do with tradition. |
If you guys had listened to Godwin Enakhina on SportSplash today on LTV, you wouldn't have been talking all these balderdash. Rangers was at fault |
Osama10: What about having separate MALE & FEMALE Universities?Exactly! Honestly, I seldom read any post that got to do with Islam and Muslims on Nairaland. I'm disappointed most of the time. |
Orikinla: Yes.In fact, I don't know what's with my fiancee this few days? She has just been feeling cold towards me, and when I ask her what's the problem she said there is nothing. I have prepared my mind for the worst: this is not her first time, I know her very well. She come up with this attitude whenever some other guys are saying something in her ears. She has done so a number of time and I have overlooked same by talking sense into her head. But this time, having gone this far, it will be the end. I'm just assuming now; I just hope it's not what I'm thinking. |
I wish BRF a very wonderful birthday |
This world is cruel o! Imagine, and they killed her at 94, winch people. |
Billyonaire: Nairalanders and beef. Are Niger Deltans supposed to work in reality ? Listen, Niger Deltans are not supposed to work a day in their lives. How hard do Qatar citizens work ? How hard do Kuwaitis work ? Congrats to Asari.and the whole family in Niger-Delta too are not working hard; they are living in opulence like their son, Asari. You go surfer, you never see anything. Continue in your folly! MUMU |
femi4: Why National Stadium? Is it a sporting eventWhere else could have contained the number of people being anticipated? Can you suggest any other venue? Though, it's of no sue anymore anyway. |
oche_ejemb: Its a promo vid to invite tourists and investors to Lagos. You want them to show traffic and slums? Are you not a dumb fûck?Day-in, day-out, we cry of lack of employment; our youths' don't have jobs to do. And someone did something just to pull investors here to create the jobs. All they can say is this. God help us! |
obailala: If I get your point right, are you trying to imply that those 8 hidden posts where anti-Fashola comments, hence the moderators had to hide them?Perhaps they derail the thread. But that's what I would have done if I were to be the moderator, because I love Fashola but I also critise him when the need be; like during the doctor's strike |
pistol: Hate wetin?Ho! That's fine. It's heart warming to learn about that. At least, the country is progressing. Thank God for the people of Imo, Enugu, Katsina and Akwa Ibom States. And thank God for us in Lagos too. If they are not shouting on top of the roof about their Governor, good luck to them. For us, we are proud of our Governor's work and leave us to deal with it. |
doctokwus: Fashola has some areas of deficit in terms on how he governs lagos state& he has not bn able to wipe off d stigma of his clearly elitist approach to governance of lagos state, but one thing all must admit, elitist or not, deficient or not;is that this is a man clearly driven by ideas,a man who uses every minute of his life thinking, bringing up ideas& putting into practice those innovations he has crafted in his mind. He,despite some deficiencies, whc can b remedied I think wen he is confronted wt superior ideas, is probably d best dis democracy has to offer& I wud sorely like to see him in a certain capacity in d presidency.Vp ticket is d minimum a man of his ability& deep foresight deserves. He reminds me of Barrack Obama, deep sighted, futuristic individuals.Everybody has the bolded. But then, his laudable achievements, which you rightly attest to, counter balances the bolded and leaves us with a buoyant credit side. |
Abu Mikey: Bros na Wetin? Check my second post for this thread!!.....Before You go spit thrashNo o! No get me wrong o! I'm not fighting you o! I'm only buttressing your point bro. |
pistol: Bia this eko ile,I know your problem, it has a name: HATRED! As a matter of fact, you really wish Fashola is your State Governor, or that your state Governor do half of what he does. |
Abu Mikey: How come this threÀd started on a very bad note!!....So many HIDDEN POSTs alreadyWouldn't you have done same if after reading such a laudable idea all some people have to say is to pour aspersion on the person of the Governor? Take it or leave it: Fashola is Working/Lagos is Working When was the last time you read on this thread that Fashola is fighting one Local Government Chairman or a Commissioner, or grounding the Aircraft or Vehicle of one somebody. If he's not commissioning one project or another, he's busy inspiring some people somewhere on how to make the state work. |
fluteman: Phewww...Thank God i found you. I thought there was no sensible peeps again in this country. Damn...would people prefer they start calling GEJ 'Stupid", "Brainless", "Idiotic Fisherman" in their official letters and publicised in international media? This will obviously reduce the number 1 office in Nigeria and bring shame to EVERY NIGERIAN...is that what people wantThank you. Your post even says it better that mine. God bless you. |
Let me also add that this administration, as far as I'm concerned, has been embroiled in one controversy or the other with real and imaginary enemies within and outside its parties. The administration has been in these mess right from the word 'go', and I hope this is not how the whole four years will be spent without any meaningful thing being brought to the table. |
