PoliticsRe: Okonjo Iweala For World Bank President by McKren(m): 7:28pm On May 18, 2007
TayoD:
@Mckren,

Don't patronise yourself. When I see errors and I feel like, I correct them. This has nothing to do about picking holes in your statement.

My allegiance is to the truth and not to a personality or country.  I do not sacrifice the truth on the altar of political correctness.  It is obvious from your statement above that you are the one involved in name-calling and character assasination.  Rather than provide facts and deal with the topic at hand, you went on a tangent to smear a man who occupies a position you can only dream of and never attain.  I do not have time to discuss people but issues and only if I choose to get involved.

However, I still need to inform you that you have the liberty to continue with your smear campaign if it makes you happy. Who am I to deny you of your pleasurable indulgence!!
First of all I simply don't know why I will dream of being American President when I am not American. I am not even trying to be an American let alone being their President. So God knows what you are getting at.

After reading your post I got so confused and had to ask one of my friends if he knows whether George Bush has a son or member of cabinet by name TayoD. Indications showed that there is none, so why you are taking the whole thing personal is what I simply can't figure out.

However, if directly or indirectly you are in his cabinet. Probably you are his Virtual Secretary of States let me borrow Iyke-D's terms then I can tell you, you are at the wrong place. You better need to go and convince Americans.
George Bush has been a great President and his party lost the mid-term electionshuhhuhhuh.
A fact which has made him a lame duck President, his government has been abusing the VETO power because non of his policies are acceptable by the house and thus Americans.

I think I made a decision in the past never to reply your post because of your attitude. The world we live in is full of troubles, internet for me is a souce of happiness and to sometimes learn a lot about the world arround us without stress. Making enemies and engaging in war of words is obviously not what I will sit behind my computer to do.
You can go on abusing me as you want but I am sorry you simply wont get that from me.

@Mckren,

I hope you will lead the charge to liberalize each country's contribution as well.

Don't you think you are just engaging in a smear campaign? Why can't we just discuss issues without getting into name-calling? The economically inept President you talked about has maintained a steady job growth during the time of war while the stock exchange is breaking its own record almost every week. More economic immigrants are coming into the U.S. more than ever and yet you could make such a statement. Please try to separate your bias from facts.

@Mckren,

Well resignation is a personal decision, it is not the fault of Nigerians that a public official has refused to resign.

There is nothing personal about the resignation. He was pressured into resignation by the board of Directors.

Quote
It is like blaiming Nigerians that Atiku refused to resign when Jacob Zuma did.

The case between El Rufai and Atiku are way different. Atiku was elected and can only resign if the electorate pressure him to do so. El-Rufai on the other hand is a political appointee and if those who appointed him have any moral standards, they should have either pressured him to resign or fire him immediately.
You have simply declared war against Mckren, He seems to be picking wholes in my comments for the sake of it.
Well I always know about your passion about Goerge Bush and America. If you want a head on debate I can give you one provided it does not degenerate to abuses because that's what you always do.

have u been to lagos lately? Tinubu may not have scored the highest but i can authoritatively say he has left good legacies behind in terms of transformations on our roads, schools, water (not all) among other things despite d wars of OBJ. im an islander to the core and pleased with what hes done with the island.

you may want to join OBJ in crucifying him over his firm grip on lagos, i wont.

you need to meet him to appreciate his open door policy.
come to think of it, other govs stinks more
I think the bit in bold sums up your support for him.
Well as governor he should spread his good works to both those who have met him and those who have'nt

He leaves 27billion in treasury while owing 100billion debt with little infrastructures in place. How much does the state have if not "minus 73billion" (oopppsss i hope my maths is correct)  shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
PoliticsRe: Okonjo Iweala For World Bank President by McKren(m): 10:08am On May 18, 2007
Frankly I don't understand it too, even if America is the biggest financier why will such appointment be the sole decision of President of America.

They have to either liberalize the selection process or change the name of the Bank, because for me there is nothing world about this bank.

Whatever is the history behind it has to change now. so that if the US President is economically inept as Bush is right now, world bank suffers it toohuhhuh??

Just look at Wolfwitz, from defence to President of World bank.

I will not be suprised if George Bush names Donald Rumsfeld as the next President of Workd Bank, because he thinks of nothing else other security and war.
PoliticsRe: Fashola To Inherit N100bn Debt From Tinubu by McKren(m): 7:43pm On May 17, 2007
The news started a propaganda today that Tinubu will leave N27billion in state treasury. Subtract 27b for 100b debt owed by the state govt and tell yourself if there is any reason to celebratehuhhuh?

PoliticsRe: Zambia's Ex President Chiluba Guilty Of stealing $46m by McKren(m): 7:31pm On May 17, 2007
Fredrick Chiluba thinks the UK court was being racist, that he did not get fair judgement because because he was a black man grin grin grin
I begin to wonder if Zambia the country he is meant to refund the money is a white Nation or if the current President of Zambia (Levy Mwanawasa ) is a white manhuhhuh

Trust me if he was Nigerian he would have said he was persecuted for opposing OBJ's third term project.
PoliticsRe: We, Nigerians Should Rally Around President Yar'Adua by McKren(m): 7:16pm On May 17, 2007
mmmmmmmmmmmm, Yar'adua's lobby is really working.
Within the same Week we have heard reknowned IBB boys showing support for Yaradua. Augustus Aikhomo advised all agrieved this week to go to tribunal while showing support for Yaradua, David Mark is lobbying for Senate President already, Gen Salihu Ibrahim is also in the race for Chief of Staff while Gen. Aliyu Gusau is said to be lobbying for defence minister. While here in nairaland almighty BigB1 has assumed the office of Chairman CYP (Campaign for Yaradua's Presidency).   LOL   ,    am Kidding.   grin grin grin grin

On a more serious note this is one of those rare situations when I have to agree with one of my Nairaland bestfriends.

Your example is not a flaw in constitution but a flaw in service delivery. Wanna talk about flaws in constitution come up with something better.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Vice-president Elect Goodluck Attacked by McKren(m): 7:21pm On May 16, 2007
MEND Issued a categorical statement endorsing the election of Yaradua/Goodluck, though that is not to say it is there duty to endorse Nigerian election. Just trying to call those who are equating the bombing of Jonathan's house to electoral fraud.

MEND has been in existence for over two years now, so I dont understand how their activities equate to April pollshuhhuhhuh??
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 7:07pm On May 16, 2007
@felow

Tell us the allegation Ribadu made against Alao Akala that he has not investigatedhuhhuhhuh

He made it very clear that he thinks Ibadan is not meant to be what it is, that he thinks Ibadan which used to be a city reknowned in the whole of west Africa but is no longer what it used to be, meant that there is something wrong somewhere, the leaders of ibadan are obviously not doing something right. That does not translate into allegation or a ground for prosecution. Courts don't do logic, they only listen to facts.

Except you are asking Ribadu to prosecute Alao Akala on the premise that Ibadan is not beautiful. He has said he is investigating Oyo State government and you must remain patient for him to conclude his investigation or furnish him with facts that will lead to prosecution of Akala if you have one. grin grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 6:21pm On May 16, 2007
fellow:
what we need is a revolution though i am yet to see that man who would take the lead. Every nigerian is concerned about surviving on a day-to-day basis and more about leaning towards the winning party so as to make ends meet.
Except there is a revolution in the land i really do think the question would be left hanging.
Revolution comes in different ways, all you need to do is recognise it. There is a revolution going on in Nigeria and all you need to do is join and spread the good news. Ribadu is leading a revolution just give him your support.

If my state governor out of fear of Ribadu builds roads, schools, hospitals why should I worry about who has not been dealt withhuhhuh??
If a public official does the right thing he does not need to be in Ribadu's or the President's good books to remain safe. It is that simple.
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 6:04pm On May 16, 2007
I have nothing against Iweala or her resignation and have so much respect for her, but the issue is the Nigerian question. If all those who have dignity resign what hope for the ordinary Nigerian, bussiness as usual continues righthuhhuh

For your info Iweala had issues with OBJ which you and I don't know, some say it had to do with Atiku's ambition and for now remains speculations.

But that being said I simply don't understand why an OBJ that wants to destroy Nigeria and loot her black and blue will appoint the likes of Iweala, Ribadu, Dora most times against the wishes of elite politicians.

Maybe Fellow, we need you to explain that to us.
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 5:50pm On May 16, 2007
Ribadu should have resigned like Iweala, what difference will that make for Nigeria.

Since Iweala resigned has her resignation enthrenched what ever it was she stood for?
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 5:33pm On May 16, 2007
Those who say Ribadu is political should profer solution on how someone fighting financial crimes in political offices can be apolitical.
PoliticsRe: Putting Food On The Table Or Sending Satelite Into Space by McKren(m): 3:02pm On May 16, 2007
@adc

The answer to whether ICT is a necessity or luxury is bluring by day, once upon a time education was luxry but today it is not. And that is where ICT is heading to. It amazes me how you could in the same statement criticize Nigeria for not having adequate radar systems and yet criticize Nigeria for launching a satelite in space. May be we need to listen to ourselves sometimes.

Even the brewery you are talking about will benefit from Nigeria having adequate ICT. Do you think America became a first world nation by sharing bags of rice everydayhuhhuh??
No one says benefits is not alright but paying them without creating jobs or wealth is simply not sustainable. We have to build an industrialized economy to employ the army of unemployed first before we start paying benefits.

No one is confusing issues, if we wait for when people stop being hungry before we do anything we will simply not get anywhere.

I think our governemnt should spend more time working out solution to Nigerian problems and thus youth restiveness than the semantics with which BBC reports its news.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Vice-president Elect Goodluck Attacked by McKren(m): 11:25am On May 16, 2007
Frankly I do have reservations about the BBC too, but those who say this info has been exagerated should do well to inform us properly on what happened otherwise I have no reason to take them any more seriously than the BBC.

The number of casualties does not determine whether a building was actually bombed or not, because it is possible to bomb a building with no one dieing especially if no one was in there at the time.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Wont Hand-Over To Yaradua ! by McKren(m): 10:55am On May 16, 2007
The statement coming from different sources is no proof to that claim it is only a product of globalisation and information technology. News and rumours fly faster than anything these days.

I have heard Government aides repeat word for word our arguments in nairaland. So dont get carried away, OBJ will sleep in ota farm on May 28th night.
PoliticsRe: Praise The Lord, Senate Clears President, Indicts Atiku Over Ptdf Scam by McKren(m): 10:42am On May 16, 2007
Atiku has won up to ten cases- and at the same time up to four different panels have consistently indicted him, can all the four panels or groups or bodies be all wrong?
Also remember that none of the 10 cases pronounced him not guilty, they only challenged the technicality of the prosecution filed against him. Other times they simply stated he has immunity and can not be prosecuted. NO COURT HAS PRONOUNCED HIM INNOCENT.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Vice-president Elect Goodluck Attacked by McKren(m): 10:34am On May 16, 2007
@nobblezone

You could not have said it any better.

Very soon we will all be homeless, I have posted on this site before that the Niger-Deltans of yesteryears who colluded with ex-army leaders may not have envisaged that where they once called home will turn into a war zone.

Nigeria is heading for anarchy if our leaders including councilors and LGA chaimen do not change their ways, we might turn to congo. I am so glad that the target was a politician.
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by McKren(m): 10:25am On May 16, 2007
Frankly if there was any top politician dealing on fake drugs, Dora would have had her fair share of being blackmailed with selectivity.

When Ribadu prosecuted Bank fraudsters, 419ers, oil bunkerers no one complained. But because he went against the biggest thieves in our society the politicians people began to blackmail. I get so disappointed when ordinary Nigerians criticize Ribadu cos I dont understand whose intrest they should protect.

For me there is nothing to choose between Ribadu and Dora. They are both up there.

Wait if Yar' adua fraudently won the elections, then who was supposed to win, we all know that Yar' adua collected the majority vote in Nigeria, so lets stop crying AND SUPPORT PUR PRESIDENT ELECT! Or are you guys saying that Buhari sould have won the elections, I am perplexed?
Spot on, people go on about talking about electoral fraud or rigging when deep in their hearts they can not even say who else would have won the election other than Yaradua. I think Buhari was even more popular in 2003 elections than now.

They just want to waste our time, the most they can get is election re-run which Yaradua will still win. No tribunal or courts will pronounce Buhari or Atiku winner.
PoliticsRe: Putting Food On The Table Or Sending Satelite Into Space by McKren(m): 9:31am On May 15, 2007
The President will not cook breakfast for Nigerians if that is what you mean, because that is simply not sustainable. The President can only creat an enabling environment for bussinesses to thrive so that Job creation will be an aftermath of that enabling environment.

The Satelite is a longterm plan to diversify the economy providing ICT to African Subregion. There is also a plan to build railways system and that is only possible with adequate communication systems. Building a modern economy is not just about subsidising fertilizers or giving people cash crops for free, while those are important to improve the micro-economics of our nation there is also the need for longterm plan.

There is a plan at the moment to sort out electricity immediately though this is coming a bit late but lets not waiste so much time criticising government rather than thinking of how to contribute our little bit to make our country great. Some of us wallow too much in cynicism.

PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Drops Nuhu Ribadu As Igp by McKren(m): 4:36pm On May 14, 2007
This was how some of us spearheaded campaigns here when Ribadu's tenure as EFCC boss was yet to be extended. They did not want his tenure extended. If the same set of people are so quick to celebrate unexistent dropping of Ribadu by Yaradua I guess we must ask ourselves why. What has Ribadu done to themhuhhuhhuh

Frankly I will prefer Ribadu to continue as EFCC boss, because making him IG will pile unnecessary pressure on him to succeed. Besides that the over 60 police officers who will loose their jobs might work against him behind the scene to bring him down. However if Ribadu is given the post and he thinks he can deliver as IG he has my full support.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Drops Nuhu Ribadu As Igp by McKren(m): 12:05pm On May 14, 2007
Some journalists just dream and broadcast it for public consumption.

I think its hi-time our journalist begin to state their so called "impeccable sources"

Dropping the most popular Government official is as good as political succide and trust me Yaradua will not take that risk. That will simply throw his credibility to the mud. It is like dropping Dora Akunyili abruptly.

People are just funny, If OBJ had plans to disable Ribadu why promote him twice in 1yearhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh? with the latest promotion coming few months to his handover.
