I think Access Bank has stopped dollar transaction on their naira account. At the end of the day it seems all Nigerian banks don't have FX, the only way forward is to open a domiciliary account and get your dollars and fund it.

I will fix this inside, by the way you could be experiencing the false power draw thanks to a cable of not properly dimensioned.

Try and check your cables e.g, if you moving long distance within your property & 2.5mm is your cable try changing to 4mm.

Sintolord has a more robust experience & could share some insights with you.

Cable is 6mm², maybe the 1HP is not really 1HP

Referring to the pictures, after twisting together the strands in Pic 4, I first use an "A Grade" flame retardant white insulation tape for the first taping (pic 5) I buy this tape at N750 at ShopRite. Then I use an original Scotch tape to do the 2nd and final taping (pic 6). See pic 8 for the tapes

You can't use all this N50 insulation tape and won't expect it to untape (or unwind) as times go on. And during taping, ensure you tension the tape.

The ₦50 tape is no longer ₦50

I like the flame retardant tape you use, ideal for roof mounted installation where the roof will get super hot on sunny days.

You will add money to batteries, inverters etc con charge high amount again for "installation".Which client will pay...

Installation cost of some installers will buy another inverter or battery qouted.

Dont sound too professional... clients will "japa".

Not disputing that. There are such cases, but I'm actually talking about same professionals who actually knew what they are doing. Of course, you don't expect a professional charges to be dirt cheap

I have seen a fair share of installations that were poorly designed and installed, to know that going cheap isn't really an option when it comes to solar

It's weird when some of the clients can easily afford a better designed system that is a bit costlier but will often opt for that "engineer" that knows very little of what they are doing to do the job simply because their quote is "cheaper".

The guys with the lower quote will most likely win. Even if the job end up being mediocre, the clients are often happy with it.

That's how some people claim ITK everywhere. I saw an approximately 4m setup someone with conscience installed for my boss and I weep.
The offs in the setup:
1) west and east facing panels (16 in all) combined into one CC. The CC is a mediocre type.
2) tiny wires from CC to battery
3) no breaker or protective device between solar and CC
4) no breaker or protective device between CC and battery
5) no SPD
6) wire from battery to a 5KVA inverter 6mm2 wire
7) no breaker or disconnect between inverter and battery
the inverter is the type with huge self consumption.

If someone mistakenly, plug a high power device, the cable from inverter to battery will just melt.

What I don't know is if it's a case of lack of knowledge or greed on the part of the installer. If it's the later, then we have a long way to go in our society. If it's the former, why would someone take up a job he's not qualified to do?

Lest I forgot, I noticed I have gotten away with using more than 20usd on StanbicIBTC card within the past 4 days. The last single purchase I made today was 20.06usd (which is even more than 20usd) after an initial 18 usd cumulative over the past 3 days.

Is anyone aware if Stanbic's is capped at a monthly limit higher than most other popular banks?

My fellow Nairalander, none actually works if you are doing orders bigger than $20 or $50 if you are using a naira denominated account. To make it happen whichever amount you want to order, open a dorm account and get a BDC/black market to fund it.
