ojeysky: Yes o, here is sample of what I get from PHCN, usually I just stick to 10A charging on those days or even as low as 2A. Kudos to A&E dunamis their servo stabilizer is superb That's a beast of an AVR. How much did you acquire that 10kva? Those PHCN should just try, what is 86v? Do people in your neighborhood even use this? |

MartinsD12: Gas cylinder is very dangerous and has been exploding and killing people anyhow, it's time to stop using cooking gas, get yourself a kerosene stove, for me nothing will make me use gas cylinder, rip to the lady its sad, why do gas cylinder always leak all the time killing people this thing is not safe even gas plant in nnewi explode the other time killing people there are other cases of gas plant killing people in different places in Nigeria. Gas is dangerous, boycott it totally. To each his own. Nothing will make me use kerosene stove if I can get cooking gas. I prefer my energy clean and my eyes clear and not bombarded by smoke from kerosene stove. |

nwanwaoge: Yea ..you are right, how about this theory that if it leaks for too long, it gets to a point Where your smell sense becomes saturated and you can no longer perceive the smell To be too bad anymore...
Same thing happens when we poo..ab initio....you perceive the strong smell...all of a sudden you don’t feel bad about the smell, because you think it no longer smells much while you are still seated there...but I bet you...the next person passing close to you while you are there, is already choking and gasping for air due to what you are doing in there...
This happens in some aero planes as well.
So while she was asleep...this happened. If you know how dangerous gas fire can be, once you perceive it. Take the cylinder outside and air out location. No matter how long a leak has lasted, it is super hard to just get used to it. At least to me I can never get used to smell of a leaking gas. |
Health › Re: Chinenyenwa Swanky Dies From Gas Explosion In Anambra state (Graphic Photos) by mctfopt: 7:08am On Jul 12, 2020 |
RIP young lady.
Rule of engagement with gas is not to strike a match or turn the knob (for auto light gas stove) if you smell gas. Leaking gas has a peculiar easy to identify smell. Once you perceive it, air out location and look for source of leakage. Only attempt to use when source of leak is fixed and you can no longer perceive the smell of the leaking gas. Cooking gas is quite safe to use if we only apply the basic precaution.
Safety checks include:
1) Buy premium gas regulator, yes they are sometimes twice the cost of the cheapo in the market.
2) Buy premium gas cylinder.
3) Do not overfill your gas cylinder. Buy gas from standard gas filling stations.
4) Use premium hose and check for leaks every quarter.
5) If you have space (and gas is not camp gas) make sure that the cylinder is like 2m or at least one meter away from the burner.
6) Be always aware of the smell of leaking gas, it is pungent and kind of hard to miss.
My condolences to the family and friends of the lady. |

ojeysky: My brother so I thought o....I reduced to 10A(2A was the only one a didn't try) it still didn't move, even the bypass to supply current in line mode didn't happen. Though it recognise there was AC input
The quality of utility supply we get here has made charging beyond 30A via AC a dream for me. If not for my stabilizer that supports beyond my expectations, the 120v utility that I get would have been almost useless. I keep charging at 20A but occasionally 30A when am lucky to get 150v.
Will find time to further diagnose the Gen disagreement with my 3024GK Lucky to get 150v? Oh my! The PHCN wants to kill your equipment. These guys don't care about their customers. Dang! |

Nothing beats good customer service! Fangpusun has A1 in customer service. They once replaced a charge controller after 18 months! I couldn't believe the offer. They shipped the 7kg CC free with DHL, and as luck will have it I paid no duty. |

ceaser: No pre-dispatch picture sent by seller.
If the address label was too defaced to be read, then I suppose it would also have affected the barcode scanner reading and by extension the dispatch to destination address
According to the tracking, it has reached destination address (the town in the address was written in the tracking as destination) since March. So I wonder where it's hiding. Start sending mails then, your local PO may not know much about the package. |

Did you know that can help you (logistics) to pack your entire properties - except your house or land sha - if you're moving between cities within Nigeria? I was impressed when someone said that they did that for him at reasonable price.
Although it seems I'll be having a lost/stolen item slugged out with 'em soon. They must dig it out.
My solar DC pump. May not be stolen. Could just be misplaced or left in one of their numerous store. This may usually happen when the address on it is not there or too torn to be read and location where it is heading identified. I'll recommend you send a mail to their customer care and see how it goes. Did your seller take a picture of the package before shipping? If yes, attach picture as evidence. |

dataking: Thanks Boss, I know about the smart charger but nice to hear of a cooling fan as well. If those 2 are taken care of, do you see the APC UPS with a smart charger outperforming the Hybrid Inverters?
Also what about battery health and longevity. Will the UPS charge and utilize the batteries optimally and efficiently.
Thanks a lot. Well, I personally don't see it outperforming an inverter with same capacity (charger size and cooling system). But you can only find out for sure when you get the two and put it to work. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 5:23am On Jul 11, 2020 |
dataking: My Ogas, I need to set up a small office and would like to use 2pcs of 12v 200Ah batteries. Would you advise buying a 1500 24v APC UPS or simply buying an inverter. I also would like to know reasons why. Thanks in advance. Buy an inverter for these two reasons: 1) An inverter will have a charger big enough to produce the charging current that can charge big batteries (such as the 200ah) while a UPS is equiped with chargers to sufficiently charge smaller batteries such as 7ah or 28ah batteries. 2) An inverter is designed to run for longer periods, while UPS is made for shorter backup. Hence the two has different cooling system. But I've seen a dude here in nairaland that has modified the UPS (by adding cooling fans and external charger) to enable a UPS run for longer and charge bigger batteries. You can checkout this UPS conversion process to inverter here on nairaland by checking out this link https://www.nairaland.com/1389975/worlds-smallest-power-inverter/60#77800554 |

NiyiOmoIyunade: Ah boss! SPD is entirely useless and potentially even dangerous if there is no earth/ground to send the fault current to.
Putting a copper rod in the ground for protective earth is not an elaborate affair as such - anywhere in the compound from where you can run cable to your own flat/house is alright. We have used flower bed, just beside a ground floor window, just outside the compound beside a gutter, side of wall or fence.....
People just hammer the rod into the ground but this will only work with suitable soil - ideally you want to dig/auger a narrow hole like say 4 inches wide, put your copper rod in the center of the hole and backfill with suitable enhancement material - budget installs use industrial charcoal ground to a fine powder mixed with cement for a permanent earth. I would say 2 copper rods driven at least 16 feet apart is the minimum for safely channeling large surges from lightning e.t.c - if all you can do is one rod then it is better than nothing - just make sure it is the 8foot length type.
If all else fails, you can bond to a large metal body that is firmly connected to earth e.g the metal work frame that carries an overhead tank, car port or the water corporation metal pipe buried horizontally several meters length.
Half of my array is ground mounted sitting atop a large metallic frame embedded deep in the ground via 5 heavy duty concrete bases/legs - I did not bother to earth the frame the panels sit on as the entire assembly already has a firm connection to ground in Lekki saltwater soil. We may have to pin this comment, there is often this misconception that an SPD can work without a good earth. |

Kamaye: just be patient, you will get update maybe next week, but I don't think it is advisable to buy a phone or anything that you need urgently from aliexpress at this time of international logistics problems due to covid 19. I have a June order too but it is just a DIY power bank box which I wouldn't mind if takes months to arrive, anything I need urgently, I will source for it here locally including phone. You can buy and use FedEx and pray the service tax won't bankrupt you |

Damdammy: Hello my people, I want to ask the following questions as partaining to Alibaba.com. I saw an item that MOQ is 1pcs which I want to order. Pls how is the payment mode and shipping method compared to AliExpress. It's the same formalities. Thanks is advance. Chat seller to discuss these things. Shipping method is often discussed and the price you want to pay for such. When you are through, ask seller to send you a PI (proforma invoice). The seller will send you this link in your message. You can then pay through credit card (just like in AliExpress) or decide to do a bank transfer. But whichever method you want just let seller know that you prefer a particular method. Below is me discussing with a seller.

When I tried to track further, I saw the second picture which I do not really understand. Please peeps that use the platform well, what does that really mean? Please help. The order completed is automated. It just shows your goods is over 60 days (when 60 days is the buyer protection period). What you should do is to check how many days remains of your buyer protection. Once it elapses and you didn't get your goods, you are free to open dispute and ask for refund As you can see I, too, have "order completed" and my buyer protection remains just three days to go. I can open dispute within 15 days after this counter drops to zero and request for refund.
