In fact WHAT are we all talking about here? Some people just decide to learn the hard way! Whatever you never made frantic efforts to correct during courtship would most likely stay with you in marriage. BE WARNED PEOPLE! Discover your spouse totally before tying the knot!
Rubbish!!!!!

So while courting and he discovered she could not cook, you advise he should have left her. hissessss

God created marriage for
1. Procreation
2. Companionship/help mate
3. Avoid fornication

@ poster
I quite understand the frustration involved when your wife doesn't cook to your taste. I think you should take your time and be patient with her but don't be afraid to express your displeasure. It doesn't mean you don't love her. Infact during your leisure hours, you could do the cooking and make her watch you. You could also allow her learn from your sisters who are good in cooking ( the understanding ones ohhhhh).

Genny is to on point. They had to make backstage video for her.

I love the way she's down to earth and humble, but still comes across as special. . that is STAR QUALITY

Haters will die. . And by die I mean get hit by a car doing 155Km/ph. cheesy
Even Genevieve will not wish her haters that. Well that's gonna be your portion.

You sound like Coco the clown!!!!! How in the blue moon is a wife and mother is easy than a single mum?

Why do you think Married Actresses find it hard to have a stable marriage in Hollywood? why do you think Jada Pinkett Smith disappeared from the screen,  even screening the Matrix Will Smith and family had to temporary move to Australia to support Jada,  Those who could juggle an acting career and keep a matrimonial home should be commended,
Spot on

May you live long.

fab4ever:
@meldrick again! are u saying you are not aware that alot of high profiled women are single doesnt mean its dia choice. I heard of a banks FEMALE MD who just got married in Ibadan last month 4 the first time at 49! Do you honestly think its any womans choice to be single for that long?

Its every womans dream to find that special someone. Let us remember that this Omotola married very early. If she was single when she went deep into her career her story may not be the same. The point still remains this is about her achievements as an actress not as anything else.
FOCUS!

Ps i am in my early 20's so i am not addressing a personal issue here. lol

@ Meldrick, Yah i said it and i am saying it again.

IT IS EASIER IN A SOCIETY LIKE OURS TO COPE WITH BEING MARRIED WITH FOUR CHILDREN THAN BEING A SINGLE MOM OVER 30!

ever heard of stigmatization? I suppose you have no idea.

Africans cant even even give a woman credit for something! nawa o. Do u ask why your favourite hollywood stars are married or singlehuh

This shouldnt even be about her personal life she is such a brilliant actress. Give her credit 4 that. No one is asking you to like her!
This is Africa. There is nothing like stigmatization. Does she have AIDS that she will be stigmatized. It is not easy for a woman like Omotola to be able to cope with the pressure of family and career not to even mention in-laws. As for Genny, sugar daddies make things so easy for her. If you say she is stgmatised she should help her self out by doing the right thing instead of swallowing corks of different sizes.

I was thinking the same, Did someone Get a medal?

I guess the Nigerian fraudster who was interviewed on CNN should also get a medal

Do you know how many Nigerians work for CNNhuh??

The level of insecurity among Genny's fans are unbelieveable, what has this got to do with Omotola!!!!

I would have accepted all the ooooh aaaah if the news came out that she was going to act in a Tyler Perry movie let alone act alongside Halle Berry or Rene Zellwegger (Spelling)

But CNN, gosh!!!!! some people still act as if well live in trees and nud huts,  I wonder what you guys would do if Genny's was on FOX News!!!!
True talk.

One daft fellow was saying it is easier to cope as a married woman with four kids and still handle your carrer and family than a single . That individual most be from the cave. How there any person compare Omotola and Genny and another person who just learnt to tweet was giving a crazy comparison about followership after allowing all his village members do that followership job. Abeg you guys should look for a husband for Genny. Mr Endowed has had his on share from her national cake after Atiku. I bet the next will be Chiwetela Agu. grin grin

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Rooney Signs New Deal by Meldrick(op): 1:37pm On Oct 22, 2010
Rooney staying

Wayne Rooney has agreed a new 5 year contract to stay at Manchester United until at least June 2015.

The agreement follows intensive discussions between the Club and the player’s representatives and means that by the end of his contract Wayne will have been a Manchester United player for 11 years.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “It’s been a difficult week, but the intensity of the coverage is what we expect at Manchester United. I said to the boy that the door is always open and I’m delighted Wayne has agreed to stay.

“Sometimes, when you’re in a club, it can be hard to realise just how big it is and it takes something like the events of the last few days to make you understand. I think Wayne now understands what a great club Manchester United is.

“I’m pleased he has accepted the challenge to guide the younger players and establish himself as one of United’s great players. It shows character and belief in what we stand for.

“I’m sure everyone involved with the Club will now get behind Wayne and show him the support he needs to produce the performances we know he is capable of.”

Wayne Rooney said: “I’m delighted to sign another deal at United. In the last couple of days, I’ve talked to the Manager and the owners and they’ve convinced me this is where I belong. I said on Wednesday the Manager’s a genius and it’s his belief and support that have convinced me to stay.

I’m signing a new deal in the absolute belief that the management, coaching staff, board and owners are totally committed to making sure United maintains its proud winning history – which is the reason I joined the Club in the first place.

“I’m sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they’ve read and seen. But my position was from concern over the future. The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it’s up to me through my performances to win them over again.”

Career › Ecobank Restructures, Sacks 400 Workers by Meldrick(op): 11:25am On Oct 14, 2010
Ecobank Nigeria has sacked 400 of its workers.

The company, in a statement signed by its Head, Brand and Communications, Mr. Ola Akinnola, on Wednesday, said the designed to help the bank consolidate and optimise its operations.

The Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Jibril Aku, who announced the shake-up, according to the statement, said the action was necessary predicated on the move to drive performance and deliver optimum value to all its stakeholders with a highly efficient structure.

He assured customers of unhindered service delivery and pledged that Ecobank would live up to its vision of building a world-class pan-African bank that would contribute to the economic development and financial integration of the whole of Africa.

The bank had last year, reportedly retrenched workers as part of measures to cut costs following the banking reforms initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mr. Lamido Sanusi.

But the action of the management was said to have angered the workers, who immediately reported the development to the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and other Financial Institutions.

ASSBIFI had then vowed to challenge the bank, alleging that the action was undertaken without due process.

The association alleged that the affected employees were laid off for irrelevant reasons, adding that the bank failed to adhere to collective agreement and bargaining process stipulated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Labour Act.

The President, ASSBIFI, Ecobank Unit, Mr. Gogo Anyanwu, had in April confirmed that the bank had reinstated four of the 25 workers sacked in 2009.

But the bank had continued to embark on a number of expansion projects. For instance, it floated its new capital markets and investment banking arm, Ecobank Capital, at an African investment conference in New York in September.

The bank also last week announced the opening of a representative office in Dubai to facilitate capital flow between the Middle East and Africa.

Why do you think Nigerians are alway involved in every crime involving scam here in america and around the globe? That car is bought with credit or like you stated, it might be a rental. Everything in america is credit including cars and houses and loans and what have you. He might fool Nigerians in Nigeria but he cannot fool those of us who have been living in America for such a long time because we know the american society in and out like the palm of our hands. He is busy posting his picture like a villager who got lucky to get to america. How many times do we see Bill Gates posing with a car? and that man has money! But it is broke a.z.z negroes from Naija that will get into immense fraudulent activities just to show off their ill gotten wealth on Nairaland. Sigh! undecided
YOU SURE ARE BRAGGING LIKE SOME ONE WHO HAS A STAKE IN AMERICA OR LIKE A FOUNDING FATHER OF AMERICA. I'M SURE THE JF KENNEDY FAMILY, THE LUTHER KING'S, ROSA PARKS OR EVEN THOMAS JEFFERSON WHO DRAFTED THE DECLARATION OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE WOULD NEVER BRAG TO KNOW THE AMERICAN SOCIETY IN AND OUT LIKE THE PALM OF THEIR HANDS.

LIKE THEY SAY PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL, WHEN THEY KICK YOU OUT OF AMERICA LIKE POLIO OR AS A PEST TRYING TO CLAIM OLOYE IN ANOTHER MAN'S LAND. THEN YOU WILL LEARN TO BE HUMBLE.

We must change our orientation as Africans. Today, we celebrates double wedding ceremonies due to our colonial experience. The engagement i.e. the traditional wedding is original to Africa. However, the church or registry was borrowed from Europeans. Spending on double-wedding is a waste. U can register your marriage with little or no cost at the registry and go to church for marriage blessing without crowds, and later do the main thing "African traditional wedding". BEST OF LUCK.
