Why wouldnt the population explode, after Buhari told every African to come in as they are visa-free. |
naptu2:Naptu, Oga patapata, the boss of all bosses! ![]() I just listened to the whole conversation. Pantami is arguing the fact that there is separation between living (mater) and worshipping (spirit), and that Sharia is a code for living in uprightness, so that while having an occupation earning a living one is guided by the principles of do's and dont's of Sharia as a moral code for interpersonal interactions. That Sharia does not forbid work...and working is not at cross-purpose with belief in Sharia. Yusuf on the other hand is of the view that Pantami's view introduces an involuntary admission that the divine message is incomplete, thus man defines for God how life should be conducted...rather than submitting himself to the creeds given to him as his obligation. He opined that mater and spirit are inseparable. That working is a distraction away from divine service. Pantami was breaking down the intent behind why we address a court judge and say "My Lord". I need to spend time to focus deeply in their exchange. I wish I could post the interpretation of the debate here in English...but Ishilove has said I must go to sleep. Its almost daybreak nau!. ![]() Boss, I need a favor o. My beautiful mother, Miriam Makeba's birthday is March 4th. Can you please dig up and do your thing....help me celebrate Mama Africa! ![]() |

The Muslim group who reacted to a video clip in which Shekau confessed to killing a founding member of the Council, Sheikh Ja’afar Mahmud Adam (R) and also issued threats to another member of the Council who is also a serving minister Isa Pantami, reminded President Muhammadu Buhari of the campaign promise he made in 2015 to end Boko Haram insurgency.Did you know that Pantami, Minister of Communications, is a member of Shariah Council? Now you know! ![]() How many people in Buhari's cabinet are either patrons of miyettiallah or member of Shariah Council? This is a challenge for investigative journalists. |
Frankdoz8: ![]() I dont know if Kanu is gullible, or his audience in SE is gullible...whicever way it is looked at there is gullibility in this story. The first son of the throne, a prince made it a duty to attend his parents burial but refused to be around to fill the empty throne....his right of inheritance and eligibility. Somebody please tell Kanu to return so he can be crowned the next Eze of Afaurukwu. The people need a king, and the right of the first son cannot be passed to the second....particularly that Kanu lineage is Jew, not Muslim or Christian. |
immhotep:ipob that cannot fly its own colors for world to see during Eze and Ogoeze Kanu burial. Fear catch them! Bloody cowards! Afraid of an ordinary Commissioner of Police. mmmtccheeeww........ ![]() |

The next in qualification and heirarchy to each of the service chiefs are not people Buhari trust. If he fires the current chiefs he must bring in people he does not trust. Its why he hesitates. If Army and Air Force Chiefs were Southerners and their replacement would be fulfilled with Northern muslims he would already have done so with a replacement long ago and without any public demand for it. |
conductor259:This is the worst input on this thread. Very intellectually deficient! ![]() The award will be more than 50bn if fg wins the lawsuit. This is an act of goodwill by imposing fine instead. |
MelesZenawi, Let me give you feedback. You will notice that Ive been ignoring you lately. There is a fraternal code built on mutual preservation here in Nairaland. It is silent...but is there nonetheless. None of us like to get a ban. Some know certain acts in extremity will earn a ban and they accept it. For most part Nairaland mods are good referees and they overlook minor infractions that violate rules....if no one is bothered, offended or reported. This is good discretion on their part. Politics and vulgarity and assaults go in tandem. Anywhere you see politics look around, vulgar is nearby and assault will soon arrive. This here is politics section of Nairaland, it is not and will not be allergic when vulgar shows up and when assault backs it up....people here should have certain liberties and immunity to be political. You are known for reporting people for ban. You are also known for luring people into heated debate that end in vulgarity and assault...so you can get them banned. You like intellectual exchange....but the people you need for participation are not there when you need their input because they are banned. After repeated episodes they soon learn to avoid you in conversation. I can see you like to hear my input. You must accept my politics as much that you enjoy my intellect, and stop reporting me for ban. Apply this feedback in your interaction with others and tweak your expectations a little bit. We will all be fine eventually. ![]() |

Ishilove:Good point! Usually when the source is a reputable media house I post screenshot with the logo or brand name, I suppose anyone interested in more will know where to go. Also, ads and other inserts are horrible turn offs and make copy/paste a bit tasking than should ordinarily be. I will update with the link. Thanks darling.. |
Simplyleo:Anambra. should find the revenue by imposing cattle and grazing tax on fulani herdsmen. It must not declare insolvency, otherwise fg might be tempted to declare the State financially bankrupt and take it over for administration and recovery. ![]() |
sarrki:Sarrki, This particular land was earmarked for ruga, long before ruga came into public knowledge and became controversial. During the controversy States responses were that they would not award lands to FG for ruga. What about lands previously awarded, were they going to revoke them? Thats an issue. ![]() This parcel of land falls into that category and fg is not backing away from its plan to build settlements on it. As you can see its planning has already been awarded. The contention here is that Anambra, having realized its past error is remorseful and would like to kick fg out of the land, but has no legal foot to do so. It thus employed brute steps to convert ownership to itself by erecting structures on the land; a clear violation, and a trespass! ![]() |
Expect in few days to see a stretcher wheeled into courtroom. No, i think somebody used that scene already! Is that correct? We will expect an ambulance to drive into the courtroom when Dikko shows up in court. ![]() |
Halam09:You lack understanding....you think like a white man. The support structure in place for that boy supersedes the single attention he could ever get from the King. |
Kaabiyesi O! May His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo live long! Congrats to Olori and the new born Prince of Oyo. |
ITbomb:Abeg find somewhere in the retard section to park.... you are blocking intelligent traffic! |
ChristianNorth:Im not sure you read what Babangida said. Please read it over again. He was talking about a national force under a national govt. This is how these politicians do bojuboju for you citizens, and you buy their lies under false marketing that it will be same as UK or US... Do you not know that we have a Federal Republic in Nigeria....same exact government structure they use in the Federation of States in US? So why cant we do anything in our local or state heirarchy of the federation without the approval at center? Get sense! |
To, Engr. Moses Oludele Idowu Mosheoluidowu@yahoo.com The following is the title of an academic paper you wrote and presented in 2014 as stated below, and linked for reference here - https://www.academia.edu/27383709/Where_the_Rain_Began_to_Beat_Us Where the Rain Began to Beat Us? Voice of Jacob, Hands of Esau: The External Roots of Terror and Beginning of Religious Disaffection and Intolerance in Nigeria (Paper presented at Center for Black Culture and International Understanding (CBCIU) and Osun State Government. "All-Comers Colloquium" Between 14-16 April 2014. After reading your objection lately to the unilateral call for secession by sons and daughters of Yoruba, which to me sounded academic, I became curious and wanted to understand more about your academic credits and scholarship. My curiosity led me to this paper. I did not go too far in my reading...I could not! Your discourse on the subject is a turn off and I abandoned the reading with impression that you are not grounded on the subject you presented. Far beyond that, it appeared that the paper itself was a sponsorship funded to spread an agenda. I came off with the same impression after reading your article of objection to Oduduwa Republic. To highlight some of the giveaways that betrayed your motive in that 2014 paper I have reproduced just three points, all contained in the Introduction part, and to demonstrate that it would be a waste of my time to continue the reading past that first page of lies and deceits. 1 - Religion has made enormous contributions to the development of Nigeria in various fields. In his inauguration speech as Prime Minister in 1960 on the attainment of independence Tafawa Balewa acknowledged the role of the missionaries in the nation's development and eventual liberation. Most of the schools, colleges and medical centres were built and then manned by missionaries and their agents. These facilities attended to all citizens without any discrimination whatsoever. My response to above; Tafawa Balewa may have said that as Prime Minister, and for political expediency...but it is truly a disservice for a scholar, and academician, presenting a public paper to repeat the lies and impress it upon a public audience as an ideal and lofty statement. Here is the truth of the bolded - The facilities indeed discriminated and would not register into school any child unwilling to denounce Islam and accept Jesus. Using Yorubaland as example, parents quickly dropped Ibrahim, Mohammed, Abubakar from their children names and re-identified them as Fabunmi, Ogundele, Babatunde....and so on, to beat the system and give their children education. 2 - Islam had preceded Christianity to Nigeria and had been firmly established first in the Sokoto Caliphate from where it spread its tentacles to other parts of the North and even the South. A Jihad to propagate the faith in the Southwest had been waged in the eighteenth century but was halted at Oshogbo and defeated. However unlike Christianity Islam was spread by itinerant mallams and traders in the Southwest. Thus by the nineteenth century there was a sizable portion of Moslems in the south before the coming of Christianity. Towns like Osogbo, Ede, Iwo and Ibadan have begun to develop dominant Moslem populations. Truth - Islam had been established, and practiced, in North and Southwest before the founder of Sokoto Caliphate was born. 3 - Thus up to the time of decolonization there was no major account of religious strife in Nigeria and even after independence..... ....Thus we can say that Nigeria never witnessed a major religious crisis up to 1980. Up to 1980 there was religious peace, accommodation, forbearance and tolerance in Nigeria. Up to this time the different faith-based organizations (Christian, Muslims and Traditional religionists) lived in harmony and there was no serious crisis save for some occasional skirmishes like the walk-out staged at the Constituent Assembly in 1978 by some 'Islamic fundamentalists' (apologies to Chinua Achebe) over the issue of Sharia. But there was no problem generally on religion until 1980 when things changed. But why? The Truth - Religious conflict in Nigeria goes as far back as 1953, and in the case of the town of Tafawa Balewa, to 1948. The Igbo massacre of 1966 in the North that followed the counter-coup of the same year had as a dual cause the Igbo officers' coup and pre-existing (sectarian) tensions between the Igbos and the local Muslims. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_violence_in_Nigeria Engr. Idowu, I urge you to focus on your earnings as an academic agent and accessory to Northern and Islamic agenda. Do not henceforth write an article with the aim of influencing opinion either amongst the youth or elders of Yorubaland. We have little tolerance for those already compromised and on payroll of North and sponsors in far away Arabia. Cheers! |
Very clear and enlightening. |
So Im going to come in on this. Mecca was the founding of Islam and Muhammed 'SAWS" was first muslim. In the pre-Islamic era Priests, not monarchs, ruled Mecca. Muhammed had no precedent for monarchy but he had a clear and defined structure and heirarchy for priestdom, priesthood and succession. The blood lineage of Muhammed himself are called Sheriffs. The priesthood of Muhammed is called Khalifa. Anglicized, it became Caliphate. In the course of expanding Islam to different political territories and cultures it also acquired political credits and traction. So where traditional dynasties of monarchy embraced Islam, they equally turned Islam into State religion. With time, and in certain cultures, Statehood and Islamic Priesthood became one. One of the principles adopted by early muslims is that where statehood and priesthood are co-located, priesthood, that is Islam...., must have supremacy. To symbolize this arrangement they adopted an Islamic flag...called the flag of the faithfuls. Anyone not in possession, or under allegiance to the flag is automatically regarded an unfaithful...or unbeliever....commonly Kafir! With time the flag assumed sacredness. So that it is viewed as a doctrine of God. Authority of divine continuance...or Caliph....is simply passed on by handing that flag to a believer. In other words....similar to the indoctrination of handing calabash with parrot egg to a Yoruba king.....and without exchange of words he intuitively knew what to do, likewise when the flag of faithful is handed to a believer, he intuitively knows to carry that flag past the frontier of established Islam and go plant it as the new order amongst a land of kafirs. This usually end in conflict and bloodbath. The expansion of Islamic faith is expected to be total. In other words, the Caliphate ...those in custody of the numerous flags, believe and expect that one day everybody on earth will be a muslim and there will be no land upon which the flag of the faithful is not flying. Those who oppose this expectation or stand in its way are the ones that must forcefully be eliminated. The process of their elimination is the Jihad. That is, you are a friend of the flag....or you are threat and an enemy to it. If you are not eliminated there is risk that you will raise an army that will eliminate the flag and destroy succession and expansion of Islam. I am not sure if you all follow me so far but I hope you do... ![]() Sultan is a priest, not a traditional monarch. He has the flag of the faithfuls. They have identified Nigeria as a easy catch and the least difficult to Islamize. Over the past 40yrs especially, they have made tremendous gains and in expansion and conversion. They expect it to be total with successive fulani leadership in the center. This is why they abhor anything to do with regional or restructred governance. The Islam practiced by Uthman dan Fodio and his successors do not know anything called terrorism. To them, the blood of kafir is of no value to the supremacy of the flag. The sultan does not see himself as a subject of Nigerian constitution, he views himself as head of the faithfuls and his seat of power as a parallel authority but above the reach of the Nigerian laws and orders. To cement this belief the military made him head of all units of organizations in which he participates. He is even head of traditional council of Nigeria.....even though he is a religious leader, not a traditional cultural leader as commonly understood in indigeneous lands in Nigeria. I will stop here. ![]() |
These Governors have failed to learn that their threat of jail means nothing to a criminal who has more power and control at the local level than the Governor. You jail a criminal and move on to the next thing. After a month with no followup the corrupt police unit officer collects money from his co-travellers and set him free. If that does not work the threat of abduction and severe torture forces the officer to yield and free the criminal. If that still does not work, the Judge will collect free pass from touts and free the guy. Governors should first fix the rot in civil service and security service before bordering about issuing threat of jail term. A tout hears the Governor's threat and yinmu... ![]() |
