.A muslim-muslim ticket in a religous sensitive country like Nigeria also has its own demerits and would turn off most Christians in Tinubu's own region of the SW which hosts the headquaters of some of the most influential churches in Nigeria and Africa. Stop patronizing Yoruba with concocted sentiments. The religion in SW is YORUBA. We do not reason like rest of you Nigerians that kill people because they are different than you. In our history we have had administrations that are christians and succeded christians, also muslims succeeding muslims. We do not see issue with it. Stay over there in your intolerant regions and kill each other off over a foreign practice. We value our Yorubaness and our interwoven family and differences in practices and faith. Identity and family in Yorubaland surpasses identity of religion in Nigeria. We will not kill a Yoruba muslim because Ibo say so and we will not kill a Yoruba christian because hausa/fulani say so. Zikojukwu: Dear Lovely Yoruba People, It will be stating the obvious that Yoruba and Igbo are great brothers. Naturally, brothers quarrel and disagree over a number of things and settle at the end. Now, we say a big no to Tinubu as a president not for fear of losing in the presidential election but for the interest of all, our children and the entire Nigeria. Tinubu is a bad choice capable of destroying our lives, our future and our destinies. They're millions of reasons not to mention that name to a sane person. If you want to test the fairness of an Igboman, bring Mike Adenuga or any Yoruba you think is better than Obi, we will ask Obi to step down. That is the way we are. We go for the best and avoid calamities. We warned you against supporting Buhari not because he is a northerner but because of leadership shortcomings which we have seen. But to spite us and our Ijaw son, you went against that brotherly advice and the country is plunged into unprecedented pains, chaos, hunger and bloodshed which affected all of us. Buhari as a person has his strong points but age was his most setback. To you it's politics but to us it was inconsideration and lack of vision. Similarly, we are warning you against the presidency of Tinubu. Buhari's government will even be better than Tinubu's if he wins. Things will be so bad that survival will be impossible. Buhari was sold to Nigerians on the account of morality, prudence, integrity and sternness, Tinubu has none. Everything about Tinubu is staring negative including his health. Challenge me with facts not propaganda. Why would you risk the lives of Nigerians because of tribalism? May I tell you that Igbos do not support Obi as much as the northerners do right now. Northerners donate free houses for Obi's campaigns but igbos do not. They campaign every day for Obi just as some Igbos campaign for Atiku. Igbos form the majority of churches owned by Yoruba while you have a handful of Yoruba in Igbo owned churches. We don't mind because we are not tribal people. I am not supposed to be making these references but to deconstruct the idea that Obi is an Igbo project which has become common among our Yoruba friends. Can we understand how battered and shattered Nigeria is right now and the dangers of placing it in the hands of a frail, dying man like Tinubu? Can we be intentional in fixing Nigeria for the benefit of all. Vote Obi to save our future. Make it happen. The biggest structure of democracy is the will of the masses. Don't twist the narrative. When two brothers kill themselves in a fight, only the vulture will rejoice.
Yours sincerely,
Zik Ojukwu In the just concluded APC Primary, delegates from Iboland had opportunity to elect able bodied Igbos but decided instead to nominate Tinubu. Umuahi got zero votes, Okorocha got zero votes, Ogbonnaya Onu got 1 vote. Yoruba delegates were less than a thousand, so how did Tinubu got over1,000 votes? Because Igbo delegates believed in him and preferred the unhealthy Tinubu to the healthy Umahi or Okoro or Ogbonnaya. Tinubu is not your problem. Your SE delegates are your obstacles. They have expressed their choice. Now sitdown and shut up! |

AntiMahdi: OPC during Abacha?
There was not one single agbero on Lagos roads during Abacha era. Abacha had all the national and state chairmen of NURTW and RTEAN locked up.
Abacha's govt was the most peaceful as crime was at its lowest during that govt.
Maybe you are talking of the chaotic brief period of Abdulsalami.
Abacha , OPC?
Abacha for all his criminality was hard and tough on crime and did not for one second even tolerate their usual religious riots in the north. If in doubt about the last statement , ask Sanusi how Abacha did not waste time to lock his ass up for instigating religious riot in Kano. Sanusi escaped after much pleading by a delegation of emirs. His coconspirators however where not so lucky as they were all hung in Sokoto Prison.
For you to say OPC existed during Abacha means you are either a liar and bad one at that or you are not smart at all. You need to dial back to NADECO days. There you will find how OPC emerged. Stop yarning shit. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Funded OPC To Kill Northerners When He Was Governor by MetaPhysical: 6:45pm On Jun 13, 2022 |
AntiMahdi: The Ijaws had long since settled in places like Ajegunle and Apapa where they carried out their fishing activities.
When the Wharf was built, Ijaw laborers worked in the ports as load bearers carrying bags of groundnut meant for export.
The ijaw word "Apapa" means groundnut and that is how Apapa got its name.
So the Ijaws had been living in Ajegunle for years prior to British colonial rule but were confined to Ajegunle after the British made it a Government Reserved Area for their expat staff.
The whole Ijaws and Yoruba fight started over who owns Ajegunle as Jakande had installed Yoruba stools where they never existed after Lagos was granted state status in 1979. I say stop turning its history on its head. Before changes to land use decree under General Obasanjo in 1977, Ojora family owned Ajegunle. Oluwa family owned Apapa. Apa is the original Awori name. Colonists mislabeled and called it Apapa. Infact, Apa is recited as an Oriki for many of Royal Heads in Idungaran. The reason for that is a story for another day. Chief Tijani Amodu, Oluwa of Lagos took the colonists to court and charged them with criminal infringement for seizing lands in Apapa to build port without his approval. Herbert Macauley defended Oluwa in London in 1920. They returned home with victory. The Queen recognized and acknowledged Dosunmu had no right to cede lands in Lagos to colonists and Oluwa remained the sole owner of Apapa. He was compensated. This precedent ruling confered land ownership and authority on the 11 Idejos of Lagos. Ajegunle was a swamp, it was landfilled. It was not a fishing ground. Dont come in my face to give a false history of Lagos. I will humiliate you. OPC never killed anyone. Their job was protection of Yoruba, and they did a very good job. |

It was Obasanjo that dealt with OPC after they began killing northerners which saw to a major pogrom in the north targeting southerners and Christians . You are still wrong on history. OPC existed and policed the streets of SW while Abacha was still alive. They did not begin killing Northerners or anybody at anytime. Their objective was protection of Yoruba and Yorubaland, and they carried out their responsibility faithfully. We are proud of them and owe them a debt we can never pay back. OPC! OPC!! OPC!!! |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Funded OPC To Kill Northerners When He Was Governor by MetaPhysical: 6:08pm On Jun 13, 2022 |
AntiMahdi: kayode Ogundamisi, who is currently on self exile in the UK after jumping bail for instigating civil unrest and riots in the early 2000's was the one who led a mob of Yoruba thugs and miscreants to target Northern traders and artisans across Lagos way back in the early 2000's.
The OPC was funded by the Lagos State govt to tackle growing insecurity and was known for its extra judicial mob justice that involved burning to death of people they deemed to be criminals .
The OPC was as barbaric and brutal like the SE Bakassi boys which existed at the time.
It is widely agreed upon that these two vigilante groups were bankrolled by the newly sworn in civilian governors in the SE and SW as a tribal militia in waiting to tackle any future coup by the military to seize power back.
From its vigilante status to an actual Tribal militia the OPC will later morph to become an ethnic cleansing terrorist organization that specifically targeted northerners in the SW most especially in Lagos.
Kayode Ogundamisi was arrested alongside Dr Federick Fashenu and Gani Adams for inciting public riots and murder.
Kayode Ogundamisi was granted bail but fled the country to the UK were he remains till this day as a fugitive on the run.
Never forget that Tinubu financed this Yoruba Ethnic cleansing terrorist organization to target and kill innocent law abiding northerners residing in Lagos. You always get your history upside down. Tinubu killed OPC in Lagos because they became a people police force and operated parallel to statutes. In other words, in case you don't know what it means to run parallel to statues, they were unregulated. |

absoluteSuccess: A very great insight as usual. The last part is food for thought indeed. I must tell you that the Yoruba nation is dynamic and will always finds its path like a river that cannot be hemmed down.
The agitators and the stakeholders in Nigeria polity from South West can always exist side by side. In fact, you can't kill Nigeria right away, so you must learn to love, live and cohabit with your "enemies".
At last, in the process, a greater Yoruba nation is born within or without the borders of Nigeria. We will overcome the challenges ahead by facing the present challenges with the crop of people and ideas we have.
We are a dynamic people. Such people can't be cornered by their adversaries, however they tried. Let us hope for the best in years to come, as we hope our value will work for us. I appreciate the consolation brother. The advocates will still be here tooting Yoruba Nation. Holler when you need us. |

HIGHESTPOPORI: SW votes alone can't make tinubu win.And those Governors will align with Atiku when the time comes. In the North, NW is the mainstream power brokers. They are looking for a new vanguard, one that is conservatively pro sharia but also possess accomplishments that can rival Southern in the field of academics and technocracy. Atiku is not in that grade. If Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was running or Issa Pantami, he will fit that role and they will definitely have a pole to lean on for that alignment you suggested. In the absence of such force they will stick with Tinubu and bid their time and opportunity for a next cycle. |

Politics › Re: Vice President - The Best Candidates. by MetaPhysical(op): 4:36pm On Jun 13, 2022 |
The political landscape continues to change rapidly and throw up new values and options.
Honestly, for Tinubu to beat Atiku, he must pair himself with a Muslim North. He finds himself at the mercy of Northern governors now since their proactive interference was instrumental in his victory at primary. They will demand from him what he demanded from Buhari...the reward of rescuing him from defeat. All of them, with exception of Lalong of Plateau are muslims. If Southern governors had acted proactively and did the right thing Tinubu would have not been indebted to Northern governors. I hear Bagudu of Kebbi was the arrowhead that turned the table in Tinubu favor. Bagudu is in Malami's camp. Could he force Malami on Tinubu? Could the history of Osinbajo repeat here? Osinbajo was not a member of the governor corps but ascended to VP. Malami is also not a member of that corps....could he be paired with Tinubu? Malami is pro-sharia and a hard core sharia north conservative. He is instrumental in consolidating pro-North tendencies in Buhari Administration. He is also anti-South and quick to use constitution as cover to shut down opposition against fulani interests. Malami will not influence any voter below the Niger but he can be counted on to deliver North massively.
Malami was eyeing gubernatorial seat to succeed Bagudu but they pulled him back from that ambition and told to stay put as Attorney General.
With Malami as VP Tinubu will defeat Atiku hands down...but there will be challenges ahead.
Beside Malami, Zulum would be next best option considering Buhari leans favorably to people of Borno heritage. Zulum is a liberal and not a religious bozo like Malami. He respects diversity and acknowledges merit. He went to school in UI. Minorities in sharia North, liberals in North Central will follow Zulum. He will dissect NE and break Atiku's default. SE hate Tinubu but will follow Zulum to vote APC. Twice in Borno Zulum has acted as a voice for the voiceless and in each case the voiceless person was an Igbo. The story is still fresh how he visited a secondary school early one morning and the only staff attending productively to students was an Igbo lady. The principal and vice principal were not in school, most of the teachers were no where to be found. Zulum was so appreciative that after giving cash reward to the lady he also promoted her and she became principal in the school. There was another story of an Igbo couple accused of kidnapping children in Maiduguri. This followed shortly after the Kano incident. Situation report got to Zulum, he attached aides to study and get facts to him. If it was not his intervention those couples would have been killed in jail for a phantom accusation that turned out to be a false charge. In addition, while NW governors were still dilly-dallying on keeping Presidency to North, Zulum had long been an advocate of returning power to South after Buhari...and he had firmly been a pro-Tinubu.
On PDP side, the best position for Atiku would be Soludo, Ambode or.....lure Amaechi back to PDP with VP offer.
Ambode is a loyalist to core and would not abandon APC easily, not even for a rosy position as a VP, the man is very principled and transparent. Tinubu fckd up by removing him. Ambode will be a tough nut to crack but his constituency can make him switch. He loves Epe people and listens to their opinion on his political direction. Ambode could disrupt APC in Lagos and bring along dissenters in SW.
Soludo is a new governor but an experienced politician. YarAdua had put actors in place to make sure Soludo become governor but his sudden death disrupted that plan and delayed emergence of Soludo as Anambra governor. Soludo is bright and would help Atiku succeed in areas of economy and productivity. He and Madam Ngozi, first Black and woman to head WTO, often have disagreements on monetary policies....but if Soludo ascend to VP, Madam would put those differences aside and partner with him and the Atiku administration to gain international respect and credibility.
Atiku was the head of nPDP that steered rebellious governors and party stalwarts like Amaechi to APC. Amaechi is ambitious. He is competitive but not loud. For chance to be PDP VP Amaechi will decamp back to his old party. He has huge following as the APC primary has shown. He cannot influence SW voters but he is a surety for SS and SE. |

DenreleDave: I still don't get.. Are men built to work and not enjoy?
My first instance: A very popular nairalander loves to show her kids all time which is not bad but she doesn't even mention her husband..... What baffles me most is this statement; "my money is for me and my kids"...
Does it Mean a wife cannot even treat her husband well too?
I guess this is the main reason some men ignore their wife and kids to enjoy their lives... They know that most kids grow to love their mother..
I don't blame such men.... But I don't hope to have such a wife that have the mentality of my kids and I ALONE?
2ndly, I feel most women are not happy in their marriage which is why all they live for is their kids.. The only reason why most ladies are still under the same roof is because of the kids and their lack of financial resources to stand alone... Most are just having sex, doing mommy and daddy bcoz of the kids but the true essence of marriage between has long dissappeared...
If not, in my own perception, a happily married woman should be proud of her husband. She should happily treat her husband well. She should say wonderful things about her husband.
Marriage dey fear me walahi.... A man's role is to procreate, this comes with strength. A woman's role is to nurture, it requires love. If I say more than this housewives will jump on my throat this afternoon. I leave you to interprete. |
