I have not bothered to check. Why
For clarity of the position you take regarding Arabs and Persians, don't you think it's important to validate successive civilizations vis-a-vis donor civilizations and beneficiary civilizations?

How much of what Greeks knew and improved upon for later dissemination was home grown vs foreign knowledge? You have to apply this test to each civilization to the ancient peoples you are discussing about. I might as well clarify for you that in ancient times medicine was not a practice, engineering was not a practice, architecture was not a practice, all the areas of academy and fields of specialization we now compete to excel in were totally absent back then. What we have today are evolutions, perfected through successive eras of world orders to improve humanity and environment. It is imperative that we must enquire and find the means by which ancients treat ailments (Medicine), bend the environment and nature for utility purpose (Engineering), erect monuments and abodes (Architecture), and so on and so forth...

The seven musical notes, the seven color band, the seven human senses are all new age physical interpretation of old and ancient knowledge kept by the ancients and recorded in manuscripts of nature as the seven celestial bodies and seven water goddesses, they started from a position of esoteric knowledge and arts, then to sciences....and gradually we are seeing a merger of sciences and esoterism in our own age. They were valid then, they are still valid till today, and will continue to be valid for eternity.

In recent times I have been opportuned to have a taste of what it feels like to be under pressure to relate to the tribal or local ways of life in a country as Nigeria that has diverse foreign imputes such as Formal Education, Fashion, Architecture, Technology among others. I have had my own unique experience with this monsterous insecurity of being a hybrid of Edo father and Yoruba mother myself and it was not a good one.

I was wondered if people really knew what it would mean to coexist... Why would you be using a Chinese made smartphone or ridding a Japanese or German automobile and still be tribbing over a local Hybrid brother or sister? It got to the point where a person selling English medicine, a girl who wears or fix Indian hair with imported nails are getting involved in this drama which accounts for the mental genocide that is boxing the living day light out of the ordinary human being in addition to the various pollutions we suffer from.

The most ridiculous aspect of it is that even though you are already informed about the basics of this local business and you try to stay away from the places you shouldn't be caught in, you are still going to fall short of grace due to your inability to participate in the rituals that are against your beliefs. You are in a constant need of a godperson to mediate for you and it is not even a guaranteed assurance.

What about when you are trying to be neutral and play along with other tribe and you are marginalized on both sides because you can not fit in, you look closely and see how they cooperate against you. You are an outcast especially when you don't have resources to bribe them with. I always hear this ethnic group talking ill of the other whereas when I go closer, it is not as I learned.

One time, I have suggested a cremation funeral for a loved one but it sounded absurd to the others who were there. Years later my finances dwindled and my living situation compelled me, so I sold out the plot she's buried in for want of food and drugs because the plot was my own, only to be haunted by the judgement of persons who hear about that single act. You can imagine how much damage we are doing to ourselves for the benefit of trading a diabolic culture against a defenseless victim even though we ourselves are guilty of hypocrisy?

Now I am a slave to everybody, I can't get a job, I hear people I don't know cursing indirectly that I am lazy, hungry, going crazy, charlatan, nonentity. When I drink or smoke a cigar, I get a bashing, when I'm going out or coming in I get a bashing, when I go out to associate I get a bashing. I have tried to find out why and the reason is because I have no parent so I am supposed to seek adopt or get married. I am in my middle 30s, I have lived and studied outside the country and I had dreams, how come I am not able to carter for myself like I am 12 and need a local female partner to be smarter and wealthy than me as a pass for living among them? Tribal issues. I can't be egalitarian enough for their liking.

This has got to stop. It is hypocrisy. Our people are going abroad and making it there.
Life must be lived in conflict. The essence of creation is based on a principle of duality. One aspect is always the extreme opposite of the other. Understanding human nature and its purpose helps one to accept the harsh reality and cope with the restrictions. Getting education abroad does not result in an inner alignment with the cosmic forces at play in one's life, nor does it give one success and wellness. A different kind of education and initiation is needed to open and give to the inner eye a sight that breaks barriers of distance and space.

That region is a boiling point till today because of Noah's curse and it wasn't even called Syria when they got civilised. Persia became an empire immediately after the demise of Babylon years after they hold the seat. Cannan himself who is their founder is a grandson of Ham who founded Egypt and I am sure that migration into this part had not given birth to a tribe called Yoruba. Even if they were around they were not still the author of whatever they had which was brought in with them from the middle east and it was still in the primitive stages. This is why they are are answerable to the superior civilization from which they came from giving them the might of an empire or kingdom.
Noah had three children who had many more and the ones who journeyed into the plans of Europe and Asia had managed to expand and become powerful enough to come back to to buy slaves from the Arabs that were of African race. We practically borrowed everything we have. Sorry
Im going to jump in here. When you talk about Canaan and Assyria, what was the compatriot name identity in that age for the people now known as Persia and Arab?

Politics › Re: Atiku: Igbos Won’t Allow Buhari, APC Deceive Them With 2023 Presidency by MetaPhysical: 8:41pm On Dec 14, 2018
nairavsdollars:
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Atiku Abubakar, former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not honour their pledge to make the South-East produce the president in 2023 if they support Buhari in next year’s presidential election.

He said it was clear that the APC was deceiving the Igbos because while the presidency, through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, was saying the presidency would be zoned to the South-East in 2023, Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, said it was the turn of the South-West in 2023.

Atiku, who spoke through Segun Sowunmi, the spokesman of his campaign, said Buhari and his party had demonstrated over the years that they don’t keep their promises, which was evident in the myriad of promises they made to Nigerians during the 2015 campaign but were yet to fulfil them three and half years later.

He said rather than making empty promises like the APC, he had demonstrated that he meant well for the Igbos by picking one of their sons, Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State, as his running mate.

“A man that cannot be trusted on simple things, is it that man that will be relied upon to fulfil a promise he made now in 2023?

“In one breath, the presidency is deceiving them that it will go there in 2023 if they support Buhari now; in another breath, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, is telling them that it will go to the South-West in 2023. Nigerians are wiser than that.

“The Igbos are more intelligent than they think. What the people of the South-East needs is equal access to the play.

“Atiku has given them that equal access by giving them the vice president slot in the person of Peter Obi.

“Definitely, if he does well, there is every opportunity for anybody from the South-East to be president, and he will be supported.”

Atiku said rather than agitating on which zone would produce the presidency in 2023, Nigerians should focus on restructuring the country so that each geopolitical zone could develop at their pace.

He also promised to grant autonomy to local governments so that they could have enough funds to cater for developments at the grassroots.

“What is important is that we restructure Nigeria so that people will not be killing themselves because of the presidency, but they will go and deliver value where people need it most which is the local government and the state.

“Nigeria under Atiku is going to grant autonomy to local governments.

“They will get their funding directly and they will be able to do more for themselves.

“States will be encouraged to generate more monies for themselves and they will be given more powers to do a whole lot more, especially in growing the economy and their IGR.

“We have gone past the rhetoric of we are going to give presidency to a region in 2023 or not.

“The same Buhari who said he is going to do one term, why can’t he say he is not seeking re-election but will give the ticket to an Igbo man if he is that sincere?

“Somebody who reneges on his statement that he will only do one term, is that the one who will now promise the Igbos presidency and they will believe him?

“The Igbos know their friends and the friends of the Igbos know the Igbos.”

However, speaking to Daily Independent, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, said the people of the South- East would give their votes to President Buhari in 2019 because of the various projects the president had undertaken in the region despite getting fewer votes from there.

He made reference to the recent visit of South-East governors to the president where they showed appreciation to him and begged him to do more for the region.

Issa-Onilu said: “The South-East governors recently visited the president. They said they want to thank him for what he has done in the region and they are asking for more.

“We have a president that is not discriminatory when it comes to delivery of the gains of democracy to Nigerians.

“The South-East people can see roads, housing scheme, and other infrastructure. Go to the capital of all the South-East states, you will see the massive projects that are going on there.

“So, the governors of the region came to thank the president. You also could see that because of his deep feelings for the ordinary Nigerians, the president came out with bail-out funds.

“Bail-out funds have criteria with which it can be assessed. Being an APC governor is not one of the criteria.

“Number of votes you gave to President Buhari in 2015 is not one of the criteria. The criteria are only that you are part of Nigeria and the common people in your street deserve attention.

“Many South-East traders today are benefitting from the Tradermoni scheme. This money was realised from Abacha’s loot. This is not the first time Abacha’s loot will be recovered.

“The ones that were recovered in the past under PDP governments were used to buy private jets, but under this government, the money is going into the pockets of the ordinary man.

“So, the difference between the PDP and this government is that President Buhari is focusing on the ordinary Nigerian and doing things that will greatly impact on their lives.

“But PDP government, during their era, focused on the few elite and they were measuring success and economic developments by the numbers of private jets they purchased.

“Now, under the APC government, we are measuring success and economic developments by the number of common people the Social Investment Programme is touching.

“We are measuring it by the number of school pupils who are being fed daily in our schools.

“The South-East is benefiting from all these and as such I am confident that they will give their votes to President Buhari in 2019.”

Politics › Tinubu Spits On Atiku, Saraki & Pdp by MetaPhysical(op): 4:25am On Dec 12, 2018
Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken a swipe at Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over his history of changing political parties.
Speaking on Tuesday at a national consultative forum organised by the national committee of Buhari Support Groups in Abuja, Tinubu questioned how Nigerians could vote a man known for political instability.

I give you one message for them and there will be many such messages. Their candidate who is supposed to beat Buhari, has been in our party and many other parties. He has more party membership cards to build a house,” he said.
“All you have to do is to go out there and tell him that a house built on cards will be collapsed with a single stroke of broom. He said they are reformed, but reformed what? Reformed PDP. No. Tell them as you go out that we accept the admission of guilt that they were vagabonds before and now being reformed.

But they have not served enough probation. You can only be reformed if you are an ex-convict, a drug addict or a political prostitute. It is because Buhari has no temperament and no tolerance for corruption, he is vigorously ridding the nation of blemish and looting, bad reputation.
“They are busy changing parties and that is why they are confused. Atiku is now PDP Aladdin. He is going to create 14 million jobs and I say how? They will turn Atlantic into fuel to crash the prices without the refineries working and the population is expanding and people must move around. He just talked of crashing the prices of fuel. They are lying again because a leopard cannot change its skin.
“They had 16 billion of unprecedented resources and yet, they didn’t bring power to Nigeria. They invested that money in their personal industries. They bought turbines from General Electric and did not add one pipeline to bring gas to the plant.
“They can say anything now about Buhari. I agree with Okonjo-Iweala that it is difficult to fight corruption. The agents of destruction are there fighting us, but We will win with strong determination.

“Don’t let them weep things under the carpet – that when we came in as a government, before then they had too much resources in their hands, but Buhari funded states to pay salaries. In that period, 27 states were unable to pay salaries as at May 2015. The states and local economy would have collapsed long time ago.
“If PDP members truly love this country, they should humbly step aside and allow Buhari continue with the work of addressing the ills of our nation. However, since they seem to obstruct and remain focused as applicants, we say no job for them.”
The former Lagos governor also criticised Senate President Bukola Saraki over his defection to the PDP, saying: he (Saraki) “used our mandate to negotiate and give lifeline to the opposition”.
Tinubu added: “How can he now ask us to vote for PDP? He left the PDP, joined us, got elected, got our mandate, our majority and sold it for a pot of pottage. God is honest; Saraki is not.”

A 37-year-old man, Michael Ugwu, who claims to work as a police SPY official at a federal ministry in Lagos state, has been arrested by the police in the state for taking a 12-year-old orphan, identified only as Nneka as wife.

Nneka’s grand father, Abada, a native doctor in Enugu State, reportedly gave out her out in marriage to Ugwu, an indigene of Aji in Enugu Ezike town, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The Punch is reporting that Ugwu, had gone to the Ipaja Police Division, Lagos to report that his teenage wife ran away from home and had since been missing. The police, upon finding the said missing wife, subsequently detained Ugwu for marrying a minor.

A police source at the Division said, “Ugwu came and reported that his wife absconded and that he even took a loan from a bank to marry her. He even sounded drunk when he came to the station.

Incorrect. The tribes know themselves. This is not done in Yorubaland. Have you ever heard the term "mundia"? How about "balaga" and "samari"? These are Yoruba words and they are classification for status. Mundia in Yoruba is a girl between 16 and 20. It is what English call debutante. Yoruba do not marry girls below 16,and when she is married she becomes "adelebo".

We wouldn't have had it so bad if the so called federal gov't had implemented the 3Rs that Gowon mouthed off about! As we speak tons of money (possibly running into billions of dollars) has been spent and is planned to be spent in the north-east in the name of fighting the bokos and rehabilitation. Tell me what concerted effort was directed at the east central state and later the 5 south-east states after the uncivil war!?

Our political elite like to lie to us and give us a false sense of hope because they have an interest in sustaining the status-quo which has benefited them and their immediate families. If they showed the same angst towards Nigeria that the Igbo youth and organisations like IPOB show, not only would it spell the end to their criminal enterprise that's masked as democracy, but it could quite possibly spell the end to 'one Nigeria' as we know it!
I know. It is not late. It wasn't done when it should have but I believe if money can be earmarked to reconstruct Borno and other states in NE, it is not impossible to commit to a rebuild of SE, even just one city to start with. I am not privy to what happens behind doors when these politicians go to Abuja but it seems almost certain that the agreement they make always come short. It's not just the politicians, the wealthy businessmen as well re guilty. If SE can go to UN and complain about its marginalization, then SE can also go to World Bank and raise funds for capital developments at home. The businessmen can make this happen. Look at Oodua Industries, it started as an industrialization project for Western Region of old. They had projects and investments from Lagos all the way to the old paper mill at Jebba in Kwara State. It is still thriving and is in the top three most viable private corporation in Nigeria today. How did they do it? Look at their DAWN. How did they do it? These are called Best Practices. It will be really nice if FG could do something about reviving SE but the wealthy sons and the politicians also need to work together to get something going for self-dependency. You cant wait on FG for everything.
Ibos in Abuja should lay siege on NASS and protest everyday until their cries are heard, instead they will carry banner and protest to support Saraki, support Dasuki, support ElZakyzaky, support Dino. Have you seen Dino's car garage and the collections sitting in it? Does that Dino guy look like someone that need Ibo support? Its time to hit the nail on its head and drive it into the wood; they should stop hiding behind deceit and falsehood. FG should take the welfare of its citizens in SE serious and stop covering for the lying leaders. Even if they will steal, first develop the land so production and exchange can prosper.

I have heard many people say one day Nigerians will get fed up and start a revolution. I disagree. My personal feeling is that South Easterners will get fed up one day and revolt. The reason they are calm now is because their leaders keep them in check with lies. Ibo leaders continue to claim that the wealth and development in Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, was the contribution and output of Ndigbo. This falsehood gives the ordinary Iboman and Ibowoman a pride of ownership and sense of entitlement that these cities are what they are now because of his or her presence in them. The NE development commission has been given legal power and mandate to rebuild a new city in Borno. Look at what Kano has become, Katsina is coming close behind. In the West the Yoruba development is called DAWN, they have refused to start their masterplan design for a new West while power remain in center. If power is devolvedtoday you can bet within five years the landscape in West will begin to take new shape. How long will different cities around Nigeria continue to be so developed by Ibo while Iboland remain desolate and unattended to? One day the lies told to them by their leaders will burst and it will not be possible any longer to hold the bubble together.

I believe pressure should be put on the FG to create a term-limit policy for intervention. Each of the six geo-zones should have a city project and at the minimum the Abuja City Project should serve as the model. At the end of its completion the project can be returned to the region for its contnued expansion and upkeep. I believe the FG owe each region this gift, regardless of the timeline on restructuring.

If this would happen, a city of Abuja scale, or better, in SE will promote a new sense of belonging and ownership and encourage a return home to invest in it and expand its growth. There is no need for these lies...the leaders need to say things as they are and put enormous pressure on FG to give SE a city like Abuja.

@OP,
If you are talking of historical ties, yes, you are correct. In fact, the whole of Northern Igbo territory, Anambra State all the way to Nsukka were colonies of Igala. The reason Igbos wear red caps is because the land was at one point under the rulership and suzerainty of Igala kingdom. We are under a new polity now and Anambra cannot be counted as North, not even Aguleri. Matter of fact, Idah, the capital of Igala Kingdom should never have been a member in Northern region. So let the issue of Aguleri going to North rest, no need for it. However, you are correct about Obiano supporting Buhari. I believe the two of them have a personal friendship that goes beyond ethnic difference and or party and religious difference. That's fine. He should not be demonized for having a Northerner as friend. Obiano is always on trips with Buhari, Im surprised he did not go with him to Poland.

See, Yorubas do not have just one history or migration but seem to be the same people.

In my own 'Omo Owa' family, ram is very important for male child (particularly first born) and his marriage; this is so the same with Abrahamic period. Now if you can't afford ram, cock is used.

The story of 'akehinde gbegbon' is also so close to Jacob and Esau's story.

The story of 'Moremi and Eti' is simply that of Mary and Jesus. Furthermore, how she saved her people from Ugbo people is linked with salvation stories, Holy Mary or even Arabian Mariam story.

Yorubas name their kids on 7/8th day of their birth.

My findings so far are that:

Yorubas just like others in Africa except the Khoisan - Bushmen and Hottentots are not native to Africa.

Yorubas were among the first group that came to Africa with superior culture and dressing.

There were several migrations and many many experiences. Many actually settled among other tribes in Chad, Bornu, Zauzau, Kebbi, Adamawa, Delta and around River Benue and Niger confluence.

They were mainly Semitic (Omo Noah bi - respect to Shem, Omo ti Uwa bi, Omo Owa - Oduduwa's children). There are now Traditional, Christianity and Islamic influenced stories/conflicts of Yorubas' history.
We are just holding on to one that promotes our ego.

Original homes and influences:

Mesopotamia
Aramaic
Egypt

*Also Semitic Arabian Oman, Christianity influenced Phoenicians (we actually got our current days - Eti, Abameta and Aiku from this group migration, we originally had 4 days of Ogun, Orunmila, etc), Christian Catarge, Egyptian, Spanish and Morocco Jews, etc. also Yemeni.

Cush
Monroe
Oromo, etc.

However, we are now Yorubas; and there are some of us that do not want us to even trace our history but we're of Ife and Ife alone. They forgot that there are many older places in Yorubaland populated by Landing Atlantis, the first group probably Obatala, Ogun, etc group that shared almost everything with earliest Greeks; also Orunmila, and other Orissa from ancient and earliest Egypt. Many already settled around present Ondo and Ekiti before an organised settlement at Ife. Some came through the sea just like later Phoenicians and others through the East and dessert.

Also there were many other migration from far and near even when Owa's children already in charge in our land.

We can't use one tradition to judge, if I use mine, it points to middle eastern but at the same time the oral tradition in my house gives our ruling house and Quarters in Ife; How my forefathers left Ife with their Crown for a place close to present Bini, then back to Ido Ani to somewhere around Ise Akure, then to Ado and to our present location. Surprisingly, we met people everywhere but our kingship was recognised; some even said we were of Bini Origin so as not to allow us being in charge, this we laughed at.

The tropical regions we find ourselves and 'Awo' stuff really impaired archeological traces of our history. We now rely heavily on oral tradition and egocentric stories, even from the 'Awos'.
Back in ancient times civilization was possible through three areas of human activities 1) kingship; 2) priesthood: 3) production.

Kingship produced social hierarchies and organization of society via ideologies and creed. Under kingship are politics, defense and nationhood.
Priesthood produced social order and identity via ethos and uprightness. Cults of the various kinds, metaphysics, alchemy and rituals are here.
Production is the engagement of resources to do tasks that grow and preserve society. Agriculture, smithing, crafting, mining are under it.

Africa was first to civilize. Other civilizations of greatness were in the second, third, fourth and higher Tiers of civilization that borrowed from the originality in Africa. In Africa itself, there were two Tiers of civilizations.

The story of Noah and the deluge was a mythical depiction of those two civilizations, just as the story of Oduduwa descending down on a chain was a mythical depiction. Behind each of these stories there is a reality. The story is a stage play but also doubles as a crypted message and veil hiding certain secret knowledge from man.

The story before Noah's deluge was that of the aborigenes, an old world order, against the migrants, a new world order.

The story of Noah's journey in the boat with "two" of every kind was that of the migrants. The indigenes were not wiped out with water, no,...the water was targeted at the migrants themselves and served as their transport away from a place they previously knew into a new world order that takes its beginning with them. This separation continued to surface throughout the Bible. The Bible itself gave account of what transpired in real terms but also laced much of it in spiritual insights. Something went wrong with the Bible account.

The higher Tiers of civilizations that spread out from Africa began to insert new meanings and interpretations into that separation of the aborigenes and the migrants. The outcome at each stage of interpretation distorted from the original, and to a point that the aborigenes are excluded....but replaced by a new aborigine which is portrayed as cohabiting and existing in the same world order as the migrants.

In my own studies, reflections, inspections, analysis, understanding and belief, the original civilization was the RED civilization (erroneously called Nok). We do not know its name but for purpose of convenient discussion and reference NOK is accepted as its label.

That civilization was a culture, not just a power. At the beginning of man it covered the entire mid-riff of Africa from Atlantic to Indian Ocean (in the pre Rift-Valley tectonic shift when even Yemen and Oman was part of mainland Africa and the Red sea would have been like what Niger or Nile is today, a river!). That entire band across the geographic span was a culture of the RED civilization.

The migrants went North and formed a new settlement in Egypt. From here they gradually went EAST. From East they went back West. Then they re-migrated South. There are disconnected dots.

The quest here is to find those dots and reconnect them. We are using the knowledge that is backed by domented records to chase the footprints. That's why I am on the side of Yoruba being a Afro-Asian group.

If one vowelize Hebrew root word, does not necessarily give you a Yoruba meaning but to vowelize the Yoruba alphabet's makes it more intriguing. Take for instance, there is an ancient Hebrew word called Reish/Resh is represented by a picture of a ‘HEAD'. This head is represented with one of the alphabet which is Hebrew letter “ ר " for "resh", and letter “ R" in English alphabet. Its comparison with its Yoruba's interpretation of letter, ‘R' as Ri— and understanding its evolution to ‘ORI', is beautiful to behold ........
I wrote a lengthy response but trying to move the tab and reposition the page I accidentaly closed it and lost everything. Very painful.

Let me summarize the best I can, Im not going to rewrite it.

As a result of assimilation, Yoruba has lost plenty of words and gained many many new words that have reshaped our tongue, vocabulary and word index.

Letters of the alphabet in Yoruba can be tabulated in a framework of power and significance. Beyond communication and expression, they have potency to address the environment and cosmos and produce manifest, visible or not.

You can take the seven vowels in Yoruba and distribute them in a 360degrees circle. Each vowel will occupy a 45degrees separation by time you complete to 270degrees. Fill the last 45degrees with the infinitum. This will give you a full octet. A, E, E, I, O, O, U, ~

Start from 0 point at the North cardinal.
At 45degrees position the A.
At 90degrees, E.
At 135degrees, put E.
At 180degrees, put the I.
At 225degrees, put O.
At 270degrees, put O.
At 315degrees, put U.
At 360degrees,put ~

A, E, E, I, O, O, U, ~, separated at 45 degrees apart to complete the circle. The infinitum is the hook, the endless combinations and compilations you can craft Yoruba letters and words into using the vowels.

R-A
R-E
R-E
R-I
R-O
R-O
R-U
R- ~

They can become in knowledge and learning what the periodic table is in chemistry. In fact it has always been there, in abstract form and usage. It needs to be recordedi n writing.

Just as a teaser since I mentioned chemistry, those we call caregivers now are medical practitioners. Their work has become specialized. In olden times a caregiver is the one who diagnose and same one who prescribe what balm or oil or elixir to give the sick. Those who perfected the principles of homeostasis, using metals, alkali and compunds and mixed the formulas into syrups, oils and tonics then administered it were called Alchemists. Olukemi in Yoruba is caregiver. Compare Olukemi and Alchemy.

We must accept a new reality when it comes to the domestic home. Many people will loose the privacy of their domestic home to social media and the strangers on social media, after getting their hands on that privacy, will wreck the domestic home, marriage and everything treasured in it.

You cannot invite them into your kitchen and then get upset that they trespassed uninvited into the bedroom. No! It's better not to even open any of your doors to strangers on social media.

While I agree that Yoruba peoples may have migrated from the Nok/River Niger area, I should however add that your theory of Ile-Ife of today not being the original one is closely related to what Prof. Ade Obayemi has pursued forever. The pages of the journal, written by Robin Horton, from which I posted the screen-shots have however disputed this theory based on the 'new evidences' that came up several years ago. I could share the journal article with you. It is in my dropbox, I'll just post a link from which you download it or you could get it from Jstor - Horton, R., Ancient Ife: A Reassessment, Journal of the Historical Society of Nigeria, Vol. 9, No. 4, 1979.

Your theory here is very interesting. However, since scholars and laymen alike agree that festivals contain ritual dramas and re-enactments of past historical events and as such can be regarded as veritable sources of History, then it is safe to say that a careful assessment of the festivals attributed to the culture heroes you've listed (Oduduwa, Obatala, Obalufon & the rest) depict local origins for them and not a foreign origin has your theory here presents. They were not migrants - the re-enactments of certain aspects of the festivals and lineages they left behind are tied to certain places and some excavated materials. You may just need to study the extant literatures on these festivals or participate in the festivals for first hand experience. Scholars (and non-scholars alike) are well aware that the reason why many people ascribe Near East origins to Yoruba culture heroes of local origin is because of Samuel Johnson's work and Law, R. C. C., has done an interesting work on placing Johnson's work in proper perspective as an 'Oyo Propaganda' in The Heritage of Oduduwa: Traditional History and Political Propaganda among the Yoruba, Journal of African History, Vol. 14, No. 2. 1973. Several Yoruba towns have written their own versions of 'Ife history' with Johnson's work serving as a foundational framework. Nonetheless, while several of these work 'agree' with Johnson's work, you'll find that they begin to contradict each other and struggle to place one another above Johnson/Oyo. A case in point is the work written by Agunlejika, titled Ijesa Chronicles: An Historiographic Tribute.

Like I have always said (earlier Historians have said it too), early Ife History is NOT Yoruba history. Yoruba history began with the dispersal of 'princes' from Ile-Ife at Ita-Ajero from where they went off to found new kingdoms. And as such, the other Yoruba towns can not provide a proper narrative of Ife history - Oyo and Johnson fall in this category.
I did not know your response will dig this deep. I have a deeper response to you than one I gave last. I believe itemization works well as a style of expression for what I need to share so I'm going to maintain that for now.

What civilization is NOK?

The simple truth is we don't know!

However, there is a common signature that can be found amongst indigenous people of Niger-Benue (I am going to knock the Congo out so I can narrow down), which is distinct and separate from a similar thread of familial origin of the immigrants that arrived later to dwell amongst them.

1- NOK is a village of the Gbagyis in Southern Kaduna. The popular naming of NOK civilization took its name from their town because of a digging which accidentaly unveiled buried treasures (similar to same outcome in Ile Ife of the Bronze Heads). The treasures uncovered in NOK village were Terracotta heads done in stylistic arts. They were believed tohold significant value and a meaning, and because of their refinement it was concludedto belong to a past and lost civilization. It was found in NOK village.....this is how it came to be called NOK Civilization.

2 - Terracotta is done in red earth mixed with additives to make different products in art, like the NOK heads, ceramics, pots and so on.

3 - Only two areas so far are known in Nigeria to have produced ancient beautiful arts in Terracotta Heads.
a) NOK,
b) IleIfe

Recall my earlier theory that NOK civilization and its culture covered the Niger-Benue Basin and that their seat of power was in ruins by time Oduduwa arrived. He only followed down the river bank to find their remnants at the original Ile-Ife. In this region, only NOK and Ife had their Heads preserved.

Were theseTerracotta Heads valuable treasures, why were they preserved in the ground?

Monsanto took on a project few years back when it set out to control global distribution of organic seeds and crops. They took original copies of every food crop and herb and seed and preserved them in an undergound vault somewhere in the frigid temperate lands. Their investment is measured against risks of war, famine, disease, calamity of nature or man made.

When NOK and Ife buried their treasures into the vault in the ground, what risks were they countering and what was their fear?
I theorize that in the ancient time in this part of the world such arts were rare. Found only amongst those who ordered and orgamized society. The production would also have been narrowed within a small guild of noble artisans and controlled with the seal of authorityfrom the King or Emperor himself. These Heads, in addition to having symbolic character for a sitting King or Hero, it would also have been the currency of power. If you didn't have a Terracotta Head you were not supreme. The way they were found in NOK suggests they were rescued out of the primary seat of power in the valley itself....and moved far upland. Nothing else of anitquity were found in that village beside these Heads. If NOK was their original vault, other work of ceramics would also have been unearthed. In Ife on the other hand, not only were the Terracotta Heads found....many works of ceramics, jewelries, kitchenware and potsherds were also discovered, in addition to paved walkways, as if there was an underground shelter or living space.

The seat of NOK power in the valley could have been under attack and gave grounds to the rescue of arts to a safe and remote area upland which is now the Gbagyi village where they were found centuries later. . Eventually they were wiped out. The ones that survived the war were those Oduduwa met in Ife, intact. The ancients were right in putting their treasures in the vault afterall!

What was color of the indigenes under NOK?

I want to be mischievious for a moment. Instead of calling them NOK, I want to start calling them by their signature color - The Red Civilization.

1 - All the ethnicities that wear RED on their noble ruler as an accent of culture, whether Red hat, Red calico, Red cape got it from NOK rulers of Niger-Benue basin.

a) Jukun
b) Igala
c) Idoma
d) Igodomigodo
e) Igbo

2 - Ile Ife before Oduduwa would also have worn Red on its Kings. It stopped because a new social order was in place under rulership of the immigrat Yoruba.

What color did the immigrants have?
The immigrants were all, without exception, a people of Indigo (Blue)

a) Yoruba
b) Baruba
c) Yauri
d) Hausa
e) Kanuri

There are other tangibles that connect the indigenous group together within their own nucleus but separate and excluded from objects of value which is common and tie the immigrants to a common origin in the Nile/Mesopotamia basin. As of today, these cultures have all undergone multiplicities of cross-bonding and that has resulted in overlays of language, culture and even historical assimilations. Their origin, nonetheless, has history and trace.

Obalufon, I cannot lay all my weapons out in one post. I will stop here and put the rest in my back pocket for use later. grin grin grin

This is general to everyone of us in here....
While we must continue to research through academic inputs, let's not forget that innately, the human, without any training in literacy, is a natural explorer. In fact, the tools for conducting empirical studies are known to work counter to the natural impulse of the brain, given the complexity of stimulants sorrounding him in nature. They slow down his discovery and cause him to doubt his own capabilities. The Yoruba Akofa has a higher capacity of programming and superb recall in his brain cells than a professor of archaeology digging up artefacts in the field. The two are valuable resources to the quest for Yoruba origin. Just two years ago I encountered a hard reality. On way to meet for a very important event my phone will not recognize the sim in it. My contacts were saved in the sim, and not in the phone storage and I stopped storing numbers.....I let the phone do it for me. I could not call my contact and secure my place for the event. It's how it is! This is to admonish us to remember if Bill Gates was a Nigerian he would not have made it because many would have written him off as unqualified in the computer field. Same for Jobs, same for Zuckerburg. America is full of value legends, they are not credentialed in their area of dominance but they own and control its economic output....and it happened because people weighed their origination and saw a multiplying effect. Let the value legend in you spring forth!

People ask me about this institute and when I direct them to its website they are often disappointed, not convinced that it is authentic and serious institution for learning. I just received another inquiry today from a couple in America that want to take Ifa studies together. I told them I will find out and get back to them. Before I share with them to go to Ifa Heritage Institue website, first I would like to know from anyone with knowledge of its current state and status. The more you can share the better. The website is ok for Nigerians and other Africans, but people with inquiries from abroad do not respond kindly to it. I know Ifa teaches simplicity...but they see this as negligence and not simplicity from an institute of learning. I believe if the website is a reflection of what the school is more needs to be done to turn it into an international academy.

Here is the site on web. http://ifaheritage.org/
