Obalufon:Obalufon, you and i need to talk, away from this thread. |
0balufonlll:Give me a rough sketch of Yoruba cosmos. You spoke of two halves of a container, one in heaven the other on earth. What are the divine heirarchies of heaven and of earth? Outside the container are there other worlds or not? Place Eledumare, is he enveloped in the container or is his realm beyond it? Then give a place for the deified copies of Oduduwa and Ogun, are they in the container or beyond it? |
0balufonlll:Who deified the pre existing Oduduwa and Ogun? |
0balufonlll:May his soul rest in peace. |
absoluteSuccess:Ase o! May God bless you. My brother has returned. I am so elated and joyous to see you. I had to check the date to verify this is not an old post. How is your family, hope madam is doing well? ![]() |
Olu317: Thank you my brother. God bless you and put his shield over you all days of your life.Edumare a gbe wa! Oduduwa a gbe wa! |
Olu317:In Adimula, Adimu is significant. The "la" at the end is a suffix. Yoruba language deserve a thorough review to decode crypted words and meanings. In the war titles Olorogun and Balogun, Ogun is significant, the suffix is Olori and Oba, respectively. In the names Alamu, Alabi, Alake, Akanni, Akanbi, Akanke....the prefixes are attributes. Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Hindustan (old name for India when it was a colony of Persia), Tajikistan, Uzbekistan..... In these names the suffix "istan" is a root key to the Persian tongue. In Europe consider England, Deutschland, Iceland, Scotland, Finland, Poland, Ireland, Netherland..... Every language has this pattern of a prefix+significant name and or significant name+suffix. What does the prefix "La", and the suffix "La" mean in Yoruba nomenclature? If we decode it we can get a somewhat true identity in ADIMU. Yoruba root word is vast... |
Mods please hide this thread away. What should the DSS operative do in the alternative, tell his boss he can't go on the assignment because this OP will not be happy? |
I do not believe that's the true shape of the guy's head. I think this was camera distortion. Ive never seen head shape like that before, it is impossible. If this is true, this guy becomes a poster boy going forward. |
Saudi Arabia has kicked out Canadian Ambassador and recalled its Ambassador home. This happened after Canadian Ambassador urged Saudi Arabia Authorities to respect human rights in the treatment of women's rights activists it rounded up and threw in prison recently. Saudi Arabia is offended and claimed, correctly, that the Canadian Embassy interfered in domestic issues outside the domain of interest for international relations. While Saudi Arabia is telling international communities to keep its nose away and not interfere in its domestic problems, Nigerian Senators, on the other hand, are inviting international communities to take control of our domestic issues and manage it for us. What a world! Perhaps Nigeria is not matured for democratic governance, such that we lack the competence and fortitude to manage our own conflicts and need to invite others to manage it on our behalf. Why not just go back to Monarchy...or bring back the military? This is good reason to support restructuring and return to regional governance. The center has never been successful! |
izombie:Not everything is about splits. If you were a husband, is the way Ibos cry for split the way you would shout for divorce everytime your wife offends you? If you were a wife, will you not think of your investments in the household and restrain thoughts of separation everytime your husband cheats? I do not bellitle household and domestic problems neither glorify cheating but when you look at human conditions somethings are better endured with sacrifices so a more successful circumstance can evolve. Our priority is restructuring, not separation. We dont have to be in same boat with you Ibos, quite honestly we don't want to. Separation works for you, fine. We do not see separation as a solution for us. Remember that Ibo is ethnically in Nigeria only. Yoruba on the other hand has ethnicity in four West Africa countries. If we were separating from Nigeria we would desire that our other groups also separate from their respective sovereign nations so we can exist as a true Yoruba nation with one religion, one language, one culture and one destiny. Its easier said than done! |
thorpido:I was just thinking that too. If she had him at 16 or 17, which is not criminal or abnormal, it explains their age difference. Kissing him on lips and at his age, though unacceptable in Africa, is not abnormal in Western culture where mothers even kiss their 18yr olds on the lips. The pictures left some clarity out to explain their true relationship and intimacy. |
Yes. It can happen. |
Olalan:I swear! The guy took it as joke but there are certain things you dont joke with. Your friends should reverence and have healthy interaction with your parents. There is nothing wrong in saying "hey sweetie Im with mother, say hello to her". He was trying to joke but it went other way. The mother should not be offended, i hope. In fact she should appreciate that the girl's behaviour shows affection for her son. |
They are useless for calling this a press release. Bunch of mediocres. |
There is no political rally in Lagos that wraps up without a bloodshed and it doesnt matter what party it is. I think the Commissioner of Police and the Governor need to make it compulsory for participants to walk through metal detectors at these rallies. Its too much. Even ordinary NURTW meeting somebody must get shot or stabbed. Lagos politics is war! |
barrydee: . I raise hand, guilty, your honour! |
donsolo4u2c:I think you meant that unique female hormonal smell. It's behind her ear lobe down nape of her neck, in the armpit, and then between her legs. You are correct! 1* Odour is something offensive to the nose. 2* Smell is a flavor that the nose enjoys 3* Scent is an emission that the nose memorizes 4* Fragrance is a smell (2*) that delights presence Not all women have odour. It is not natural and not permanent. It is a condition that can be cured. All women have smell men enjoy and love to taste. It is an hormonal discharge that is very hard to ignore when she emits it into the air. It overpowers men's reasoning capacity (brain paralysis) and brings him into submission. An unforgetable woman has more than smell, she also has a scent that transforms man into beast, for good or bad. A virgin naturally emits fragrance but its almost imperceptible under our modern living conditions. Under natural settings in the woods or in wilderness free of odours from urban waste and air pollutants her fragrance can be detected by the nose. |
I think its better to explain why we want restructuring than just giving a definition. |

forgiveness:Yoruba is in two regions, North and South. Please correct. |
Hati13:I am not sure a review of the classification will necessarily advance the quest on the origin because classifications generally are subjective and they change when new understandings are gained. This has been the tradition in all scopes of study and social structuring. This language classificiation will not defy that rule, when a time comes and better understanding opens it for review Im sure it will be done. The issue of language classification is a curveball that the Yoruba is Aborihgine crew throw out to escape having to discuss Yoruba uniqueness on arts, rites, culture, divinity, sounds and concepts...and so on. The discussion on Yoruba origin does not need to hinge on it (Niger-Congo classification), but if it does, then Sound and Concepts is a basic recipe of language and utility....and what Olu has produced should be adopted for the local languages in the Yoruba region....such as Nupe, Igbo, Igala, Idoma, Ewe and so on to disqualify the uniqueness we attribute to Yoruba. |
May his soul rest in peace! |
0balufonlll:Greek was at one point a province under the Pheonicians (Canaanites) . The Etruscans were exports from the Phoenician culture. These were the original Olokuns! |
0balufonlll:Ok. So in the age when the ancestors migrated there would not have been anything called North Africa or Middle East. Similarly that what we know today as Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and so on were not there just two hundred years ago. Let us imagine an ancient world called Egypt, Kush, Canaan, Babylon, Assyria, Mesopotamia...and so on. There was nothing called Sudan or West Africa. In that age, what did they call the part of the world later known as Sudan? |
Olu317:Olu, where did you dig this up from...and who is that guy? |
0balufonlll:Ase! I second that! ![]() |
0balufonlll:Frobenius built a case for Yoruba as follows: 1 - He mentioned ancient Yoruba wore Togas. 2 - He mentioned Yoruba had a developed idea of the universe. 3 - He mentioned Yoruba had a high knowledge of Temple 4 - He mentioned beside the Greeks and Meditteraneans he had not seen anywhere else what he saw in the Yorubas. 5 - He mentioned the Yorubas were alike with Northern Africa and Meditteranean but different from everyone else in the desert or on the Atlantic and the forest. 5 - He believed the commonality found between Yoruba and North Africa in all aspects of their civilization was significant to be considered one and same. 6 - He believed there was a link, either on the Atlantic or across the desert that would prove him correct. 7 - He agreed he could not find a link in neighbouring peoples that will reveal the chain of influence between the highly developed and civilized Yoruba and the Meditteranean or North African. 8 - He concluded by saying there was no trans-continental connection between the two societies and Yoruba was an independent civilization. What does these mean? It means 1. Yoruba is different from all the peoples indigenous in the West African belt. 2 - Yoruba does not share belief system, philosophy, worship and divinity as well as industry with indigenous people in its region. 3 - Yoruba is ahead and advanced than even people in the West Sudan that were influenced by semitic and Abrahamic beliefs. 4 - Yoruba and Northern and Meditteranean societies mirror one another in industry and civilization. 5 - There are no people inbetween Yoruba and Meditteranean that exhibit these findings. Obviously, there is no donor-receptor links between Yoruba and Meditteranean cultures. This is perfect to support the knowledge that Yoruba was an "uproot", rather than a transmission of influences brought in via contacts in trade routes across desert and sea. Absence of transcontinental connection means no traces exist amongst the middle points between the two civilizations. That is correct and we have always maintained that our culture and language was not donated to us from North or influenced by Islam as many have opined. According to Frobenius, Yoruba is ahead of even civilizations in West Sudan that were influenced through semitic and Abrahamic belief systems. Those lesser civilizations have trans-continental links with caravans coming from Meditteranean across desert. Yoruba does not have such links but is still ahead, as it is also completely different from other cultures in the forest, the Atlantic and the desert. It is Unique! It is Independent! Uproot means a pack-up at point A, a settlement at point B. A family uproots from A and settles in B. The posessions brought with them on the trip remains in posession at B, not lost. So if the posession was a manufactured product, so to speak, we will find copies in the home country in A where it originated. The copy in B is held by the family only, no one else have it, except back at origin in A. Frobenius was clear in making the case and was articulate in his summation that no trans-continental link exist that would explain a donor/receptor relationship. We cannot agree more! All elements of Afroasia origin in Yoruba happened via uproot (migrant), and not through Islam or Hausa or any other culture. |
