In a best option mcq question if they ask you to pick between destroy, degrade, bind, reduce you will pick destroy abi?
We are not doing an MCQ. This is more of descriptive writing for a lay audience. Less need for specialist language here

The drug has been destroyed as far as it no longer works

Its good to write things in a way somebody can understand, especially in Nigeria where people are sensitive about "grammar"

What youre saying is not necessarily incorrect but a misplaced priority. OP and most of the people in this thread (including me wink) are not esteemed Pharmacologists like you so "degraded"/"destroyed" dichotomy doesnt mean anything to them

they do my brother. The typical Igbo parents wants you to marry Igbo too. My uncle got married to a white woman & the mum still counts him single even after more than ten years of marriage. The last time the wife gave birth my mum was a kind of being sad that the mum didn't tell her. But she told my mum that it's because he is not yet married even after 3 kids and over 12 yrs she still pressures him to come down to Nigeria & get married
Thats cold!

Sorry to say that your great Aunt is very mean! Jeez!

Go and read Hanty!
Lol you sef I dont know what you have been reading. What is wrong in saying that a enzymatic activity can destroy a drug?

A degraded and denatured peptide hormone, hasnt it been destroyed?

DCmonster:
He said enzyme can destroy drugs! The question is can enzyme destroy drugs? The keyword being DESTROY!
Yes! If insulin reaches the stomach it will be rendered useless by proteases and it wont work. So that means it has been destroyed since its no longer useful

What is your own definition of the word "destroy" huh

You should confirm things before 'mis yarning' . You obviously don't know that insulin can't be given as a tablet- it will be digested by pepsin being that it's protein.
Yes, and too sensitive to denaturation in the acidic environment

But they are working on a new capsule that might help them to be able to swallow it and stop injecting

what's this one saying! Enzyme destroying drug? Where in pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics did you find that oga? Say only what you are sure of on here pls.
Yes now. Enzymes and stomach acid can degrade medicines and reduce bioavailability and absorbtion. Thats one of the main disadvantages of the oral route

Because their Roman empire has now collapsed and they couldnt get their act together and colonise a few places, the next step is to abuse everybody who goes there...nonsense
Health › Re: Taking Injections Or Drugs, Which Is Best For The Body. by midnighter(f): 6:38pm On Nov 03, 2019
It depends on the drug and how you want it to be absorbed

Some stuff needs to be released gradually

Plus needles are inherently more dangerous, most people would prefer to give an oral form and avoid needles unless its necessary ie diabetics

These are helpful, but I disagree with you on "borrow me". It is actually correct, it's in the dictionary.
borrow and lend have the same meaning, so how is it incorrect to say " borrow me?"
chuksville:
Thanks man...
There's room for correction.
I'm still learning...
Hai! will you stop that huh "Borrow me" is totally wrong

Borrow is to take and lend is to give out

"[Could you] lend me your bucket?"

"Could I borrow your bucket?"

Virginity is synonymous with Hymen...

Men has no hymen..
Sexually inactive guys have wet dreams a lot or may be masturbate, can we say such guys are still virgin...?? shocked
I dont understand you... a virgin is someone who has not had sex before. But society places more emphasis on female virginity than male.

What has masturbation got to do with this?

How do you 'deflower' a man??

No Hymen na.. No sealed opening!!! undecided

Girls are flowers grin!!

Deflower sound like a misnomer tho!! shocked
Yes, but you can still deflower a guy.

Just that in literature, "virgin" is synonymous with "maiden" so any young woman was the same thing as a "virgin" when "virgin" can refer to either a man or woman

when u sleep wt a virgin and have sex wt her y den must it b called i disflowered her? Did u pluck any flower in her private parts after having sex wt her. If she was a virgin before then disvirgin is a more perfect term. English people can't b confusing us all d tym
It's more common to use "deflower" when speaking specifically about a woman (though men can be deflowered too)

OP, you left out 'dash' which the Nigerian speaker uses to say that something was given for free or without cost, e.g. I will dash you some money.

However, dash means to break, destroy, move quickly or swiftly, e.g. The boy dashed across the road.
"Dash" is pidgin English and its correct in its own right. It doesnt have any connection with that meaning you wrote, they are just homophones

People like you don't learn. You find a way to justify mediocrity. Language being dynamic doesn't mean it has no rule. If you must speak English, speak properly.
Thank you! Every time a post like this comes up, people will make excuses and try to justify bad grammar/incorrect usage instead of taking correction

Accepting new words/ constructions in a language is not the same as making mistakes and trying to cover them up
