If pristine Islam is what you call satanic wahabism doctrine, the good news for you is that it is Islam and it has come to stay till the last moment.

What's you obsession with Islam?

Is there any Saudi muslim scholar that have ever supported terrorism?

Is it not this same Saudi that strip Osama of his citizenship?

What's your proof that tangled Saudi with terrorism.

WHAT are you talking about shocked there have been countless documentaries that are available to watch on YouTube about how Saudi funds the distribution of Wahhabi materials all over the world. If you take a spy camera into some mosques even in developed countries you will hear them preaching all manner of atrocity.

That's how so many vulnerable Minds have been poisoned by extremist ideologies and end up killing innocent people.

WHY don't Muslims tell the truth on this issue even when it's very obvious Chai! lipsrsealed

I can relate with this scenario. It's easy to tell the poster to go for character and forgo good looks. But I tell you, it's not easy: beauty + character could still be found in one person. Who doesn't want a beautiful or handsome spouse? Poster, take your time to decide on this, because you'll be the one who'd live with her, not us.

Exactly. It's not like beauty and attraction don't matter in relationships. If he can't cope with her he should just leave it instead of trying to be "noble" for the sake of it. However beauty may not be everybody's priority over other things

Leverage on her intelligence if she has any, let her take you places with her wifey role and visit Dr Laser when the money comes...

That's actually a terrible thing to say. What it she doesn't see anything wrong with her looks?

Is it after so many years of marriage he will begin to force her to go under the knife? That's emotional abuse and grounds for divorce.

I have a girlfriend who I really love so much, we were friends before I started falling for her, we've been together for long, I enjoyed her company, she's the best woman to me, she's everything you'll love a wife to be in character, caring, love and all.

Unfortunately, I have a problem, and the problem is that, she's not that beautiful to me. I'm a kind of person that doesn't like trying what my mind doesn't fully want, whenever I think of her, it's only that aspect I don't always like.

I've always fantasized of marrying someone very beautiful cos that's what I want. The problem is that this girl is so good to me. I have no problem with her, but I'm only thinking I can get fed up of her with time cos of her beauty which is not up to my expectation and I may likely cheat on her.

Please, I don't know what to do, can I still risk being with her or leave her?

Very few people are genuinely "ugly". Usually its just condition or things like bad teeth, being overweight or bad hairstyle that makes them look somehow. Those things can be fixed.

In what way is she unattractive to you? Is it her style, her body shape, her face or what

Can you have sex with her if given the chance?

Give us the details...

The thing is that normally you find somebody ugly and then begin to warm to them as you fall in love. You told us that you've fallen for her yet still don't like how she looks so it's a red flag for me.

It seems like you're not ready to move from your fixation on what your wife "should" look like just like some girls get insulted on here for requesting a tall, dark handsome man with good character. And I detect some insecurity about what your "guys" and your family members will say.

You should have passed all this by now if you're serious about having her as your life partner.

If it's sexual incompatibility then it's a different matter.

I don't think you have any business marrying her if you're already looking for excuses to cheat. If she looks haggard or doesn't dress well, let her know about it otherwise let her go and marry somebody else instead of wasting her time.

Sometimes the help needs to come from within first. The thing is everyone is prone to suicide/murder, its in us but depends on what triggers them n how fast help comes immediately it is triggered. Nobody is too softhearted or strong minded just different strengths n perceptions.. Half of 8 can either be 4,3 or 0 just depends on how u see.. And which ever way u are right, but society might disapprove of it.

You have a point but too much introspection without other perspectives can also be bad.

Sometimes one gets so embroiled and tangled up in ones own thoughts that his own way seems like the only right one, when in reality there are other ways to handle the problem.

"Perceptions" can and should be changed, especially if the person is mentally ill and is experiencing sensations that are not rooted in any kind of objective reality.

Some people need help to get out of whatever mental pothole they get stuck in.

And philosophers who have a grasp of logic can make good to average mathematicians. For example, Aristotle.

Funnily enough, Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism contain a lot of interesting philosophies about the importance of eschewing earthly emotions that can leave one vulnerable to this kind of depression.

Immorality is relative, not subjective.

A? ¬A

Where A? = what is A?

¬A = is not A

A?¬A = What is A(?) is not A.

For example

Supposing A is a dog

Does it make any sense to determine the identity of A and then make a negative statement after about A?

Is this statement correct: A is a dog is not a dog?

Of course not because A will always be A. If you are taken by your subjective reasoning and argue that A is a cat when in fact A is a dog, you are fooling only yourself.

However, as with relativism, A is a dog might not look like a dog. A much acceptable statement.

However, I don't understand how A is an immoral act does not look like an immoral act to you.

For the sake of ethics and law, while it may not be a crime to sleep with married women, it is a practice that generally falls below the norms in every sane culture that we know of. Infidelity is frowned upon by many cultures, and there are even cultures such as in many Islamic states where infidelity is punished by death.

Cheating is widely unacceptable. It is immoral by every standard.

shocked Are you a philosopher?

Review carefully and make amend. Cheers.

No, all your comments show that YOU still dont understand that the average individual will be relevant to society at different points within his lifetime, and social frustrations may prevent them from taking some of those relevancies seriously enough to make an impact.

A medical student benefiting from cheap education and a senior official in the state ministry of health, who is more politically relevant? Who has a higher responsibility? What "society" are you talking about? Society functions at many different levels.

Stop quoting me if you dont want to be specific. "Highlighting" one or two words in my comments but all your posts lack the type of depth of understanding necessary for these types of discussions. I asked you to show me how we could improve and all you could do was type some vagueries about "white and asian societies" smh

I didnt see in the OP where you told us about her educational ability?

Is it that she doesnt like school because she finds it difficult or that she is not inspired? 12 years old is the transition to secondary school, maybe she couldnt cope well with the change or the type of people in her class.

By the way why couldnt you enroll her in dance/music classes over the weekend on the condition that she improves her behaviour? Whats wrong with dance and music Most girls like doing that, I did it at primary and secondary school and it was great. "Education" doesnt stop at Maths and English.

Maybe you should try to change her settings to a stricter school with more structure. And send the 17 year old to another.

Some counselling (not necessarily religious)

And probably get her to volunteer at a farm or agricultural setting/ hospital/ care home so she can see how other people live. She needs some perspective since you think she is spoilt. If her grandparents are still alive and you trust their judgement it would be nice for her to spend some time with them

In an ideal setting, you are supposed to do a 4 year biochemistry course before you apply for pharmacy and most most universities abroad will give you Dr of pharmacy when you are done. Chemistry is the bedrock of pharmacy

That should be US, France and Germany. Other places its just 4-5 years

Are those ones who dont insist on a chemistry background missing something

Don't say what you don't know. There is difference between being just able to type code and being a well grounded computer scientist. Concepts like abstraction, algorithm optimization to fitt processor capabilities, utilization of vector matrices for object representation, computer architecture cannot be learnt just like that. Why do you think computer science has a lot of mathematics? Do you think "computation" is beans? Even basic algorithms, the fact that your code runs doesn't mean that is the most efficient way to write that code. We can write different code to solve the same problem, both might work, but one will end up generating 10X more cache than the other and being 1000 times slower than the other.
When you see a seasoned computer scientist developing a custom programming language from first principle (not all the easy languages we have now, try writing in C, not C++, but C to have an idea) you will know its not beans

So is all that obtainable in Nigeria?

It seems that all the programming stuff is only taught properly abroad

I have learnt from this thread that people will advise and push you to take a decision, when it turns bad, they will leave you to face your problem or the consequences alone.

Nobody has bothered to ask this girl how things are or if the pastor followed her to beg her parents. Everybody is now quite and minding their business. So typical of human beings, they have advised her to confess now she is mess and nobody cares.

You didnt read properly if you didnt see how many people tried to get updated on the story in the first instance.

She never ceased to answer with insult upon insult, so people had no choice other than to mind their business. She is literally impossible.

She shouldnt have confessed. It didnt make any sense and the funny thing is that she thanked KingNom for his advice and still went ahead to do the opposite smh. I daresay that she would have done exactly the same thing even if she had never opened this thread in the first place

That you scored 200 & above in JAMB EXAMS does not necessarily mean you are brilliant..with the scourge of massive Examination malpractices in the country, even to scored 300 in jamb or distinctions in SSCEs is now so cheap..

Exactly. For courses like Medicine and Pharmacy, applicants should be interviewed so that their suitability for that trajectory can be better approximated by the programme tutors.

Scoring jamb is not necessarily the point. Do you have the social skills and emotional intelligence necessary for being a pharmacist? Honesty? Able to think laterally and under pressure...?

If they give you a calculation question right there in front of everybody on the interview panel, would you be able to do it

Its not now that they have failed that everybody will suddenly remember that they should have gone for something else. The admission criteria should be more stringent to avoid conversations like this
