Bedwyr:Hian. And how do you know the problem was cross-cultural? As if people who are from the same village dont divorce every day? Difference in culture is just one reason they might have split up...so many things could have caused it What of that Bini ruler whose wife is also Jamaican who celebrates her birthday every time and has all those lovely kids? Does that mean cross-cultural marriages always work? Smh |
Yeah, its somewhat normal BUT at the same time very disgusting No try am ooo |
IAmStrange:Yes, I understand you now. I think we are in agreement. As far as I can see, all you object to is the use of the word "punishment" instead of "test". Which I prefer to call "discipline". In fact this dichotomy actually arose from two issues that the OP raised: Beverlyjean:This is the type of spiritual consequence or "category 1" you mentioned. Which we both agree is not going to happen as far as she is remorseful OR may still happen, NOT because of what she may or may not have done in the past, but simply because bad stuff happens to people sometimes. But part of the ladys problem is still this: Beverlyjean:That is natural consequence, or "category 2", which I think we agree is possible because of the nature of the past action that may warrant it. So the solution is still for her to accept her mistake and move on from the past, keeping in mind that the physical consequences of her action may still arise in the future BUT not allowing that possibility to drag her into a depression. |
IAmStrange:Before answering you I should say that I followed you because I like your conduct and appreciate your good manners. (Though I was slightly afraid of that Imes stuff lol) I disagree with Islam and what it stands for but you are a good representative of it, especially with the level of petty trolling and religious antagonism present on this forum. Your comportment is graceful and worthy of note. |
AntiChristian:Being anti-Christian when the Qur'an specifies Christians as ahl il kitab shows that you don't know what you're talking about, you're lying OR you are not even a Muslim. So which one is it ![]() |
IAmStrange:It's a sin against herself, her parents, the man, the man's wife, the man's children and God. You are removing her responsibility and accountability to make her feel better when you should be telling her the truth. When you commit adultery and extra marital sex it affects several people whether you meant it to or not. if she repents, the sin is erased and that's where it ends.So who is going to pay for it? Where does the penalty for the sin go after God supposedly forgets about it? You are right that she should move on from her mistake but the angle you are coming from is unrealistic. The question is about SPIRITUAL consequences but you have extended it to cover NATURAL consequences. Didn't you see where she lost her relationship because somebody gossiped about her indiscretion to her partner? So how hasn't she paid for it ![]() I don't really understand; does Islam preach that your actions are totally forgotten as long as you feel bad about them? Or that your actions don't have consequences in the natural world? How does that fit in with what we observe and know to be true? When you drop your phone face-down on the ground, doesn't the screen shatter ![]() The truth is that she should accept her mistake and its repercussions and move on knowing that she is a flawed and imperfect human who took a wrong turn somewhere. That doesn't mean that she won't be happy in the future or that nobody will ever marry her but certain doors may close as a consequence of her actions. That's life and it happens to all of us. If she is a Christian, As far as she is sorry, she will not face SPIRITUAL consequences because the punishment for her sin has been collected by Christ Jesus. That doesn't mean that everybody has suddenly forgotten what happened or that some men won't be repulsed by the idea of her sleeping with some old dude. That is the INHERENT consequence of what she did, as surely as 1 is followed by 2. Actions have consequences! For the fact that she has repented and is truly sorry God may even use this situation and turn it around to lead her to a husband who will overlook her shortcomings even more than the ones she lost. Such is the nature of the GRACE of God. Whether a Christian or not the most important thing for her to do is ACCEPT HERSELF and all her strong and weak points and move boldly into the future. When she respects herself she will command others to respect and accept her too. |
AntiChristian:Jesus was a Jew You are a troll A liar and a troll |
AntiChristian:I doubt that youre even a Muslim; even your monicker is offensive to Islam |
godquality:That stuff is more of a cult than a church. Its attendees are mostly at-risk youth living in poor, ghettoised, high crime areas. They are already vulnerable and close to the edge which made it easier for that dude to exploit them to his nefarious ends Normal, well-adjusted people wouldnt be caught dead in that church |
Liposure:Awn thanks dear, I am humbled. Happy Sunday |
CsRockefeller:Truly, I dont understand whose side you are on either! I removed those last two questions from my last post to give it more focus. I didnt prescribe study habits for the dude. I asked you whether you made an honest effort to be as brilliant as he was before coming to this conclusion. Apart from that, are you as kind, generous or patient as he is? Do you know if his parents having been praying for him every day since he was born? Since you seem to think that his sexual deviance should by rights have scuppered his ability, do you equally know where his blessing is coming from? On a purely logical and intellectual level, do you know if he grew up in a house filled to the brim with books? Or if his father woke him up an hour early every day to solve one mathematical problem or the other? Did you equally have such a stimulating environment? How can you come to these kind of conclusions based on somebodys sex life! Thats what I dont understand. There are so many variables here but youre just focusing on one thing which is tangential without looking at the main issue. Look how you said "God kept pouring him wisdom/sound brain despite his unfaithfulness"! Haba, so what about all the atheists and agnostics in the world who dont give a hoot? What should God be pouring them ![]() |
CsRockefeller:Your reasoning is lacking. Being a serial fornicator didn't stop that guy from being a brilliant student. Does ejaculation into a woman you are not married to affect ones mental capacity ![]() Being a faithfully chaste guy didn't improve your brain power. But improving your studying techniques would have. Or maybe youre just not as smart as the guy! What does it have to do with your peepee ![]() Or you were expecting God to rubbish the guy in your presence so that you could feel justified ![]() |
iHart:You just went completely off the point. What does chastity have to do with being a total liar? ![]() Abstaining from sex doesnt mean one will escape the consequences of being an idiot in non-sexual matters so I just dont understand what you wrote up there. Stop trying to undermine the importance of sexual purity by yolking it with irrelevant issues. So if OP wrote about why its good to be honest, you would have written that "Wow! But my friend who finished school riding on exam malpractice was a virgin, so being dishonest doesnt mean you are not righteous" Right? That scripture you quoted was not about Jesus excusing promiscuity. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.It was about repenting and acknowledging Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Anybody who does that, whether a prostitute or tax collector, will arrive in Heaven over somebody who doesn't. That's not to say that's it's okay to be a prostitute. You just quoted that verse out of context and twisted the whole point Jesus was making to buttress your own warped narrative smh In fact that stuff you modified there was the worst part of your post: Modified: Whatever you get today without struggling is not because you are a virgin but because of the grace of God. There are very sinful people who still don't struggle to get things.Who are you to tell people that being a virgin didn't help them not to struggle? Who gave you that licence? The point of it is forgoing or sacrificing the enjoyment for His sake. Not that you will suddenly be showered in riches because you managed to keep this ONE commandment. Did He ever say anything like that ![]() You seem to be one of those who uses the grace of God to excuse immorality. Remember that " the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" . That God doesn't choose to strike people down or totally ruin their lives whenever they sin is His mercy in action. That doesn't mean that keeping to His commands will not help you or that He won't at times allow you face the natural consequences of your actions. |
mechanics:That's the reason for accepting His blood to cover all your wrongdoing |
lawani:Yes. No matter how "morally upright" you are you can never measure up to the perfect standard of God. If God is 100 even the most morally upright person is 0.00000001 |
Chibokgame:Hmm! Congratulations Your wifes dress is very fine, unlike those ones who will be looking like Okonko masquerade in the name of wedding gown smh But why should your landlady follow you for your anniversary? Abi she no get her own ![]() |
mu2sa2:So why do you people sacrifice a goat on Eid day Smh what an illiterate |
mu2sa2:Because we acknowledge the grave consequences of sin, unlike you people who expect all your sin to be wiped away without any consequences! |
adekolaelect:I just wonder...what has age got to do with this thing now If he had just told him not to be rude, I would have understood but he tried to make it sentimental. If that guy had agreed with him would he have remembered that he is a small boy Ha!Its high time people stopped using age to suppress others in this country. How can you even be using age for leverage over the internet? |
zikcash:She is Lebanese. "Shakira" and "Mebarak" are both Arabic names. Her grandparents emigrated from Lebanon to US and then her father emigrated from US to Colombia She went back to Lebanon last year to visit her fathers hometown and her umunna named a square after her |
CircleOfWilis:Lol you are truly a Circle of Willis...see back-up plan ![]() |
mechanics: ![]() |
mechanics:Forever and always! |
mechanics:Hahaha dont mind them! Anyway whats wrong with being a mechanic? Those people are making serious dough while the "certified" people are getting embarrassed every day so nothing spoil |
