Omicron007:
Today makes it exactly one month since Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Since he took the oath of office, the president has made some tough calls and decisions. He has also made some appointments.

One month later, how has he performed so far?
He has been terrible so far!
All the positive ratings are media hype!

Nigerians are much poorer now because of the reckless increase in fuel price and floating of the naira which now sells above N750 to USD

Good.
Once it converges around the parallel rate, further improvement will be seen.
A good part of what made the parallel market rate high was the round tripping.People would buy from the banks through connections and sell to the black market or the banks would hoard the dollars they buy from the CBN at favourable rate, sell to abokis and make huge profits while claiming in forms they sold to businessmen.
Why would anyone now sell to abokis if u can source from the bank.
Abokis too would in losing market have to bring down their rates or they lose some patronage particularly when people know there are fraud and counterfeit risks involved in trading in the black market.
It is madness and stupid idea to float the naira in a market that is inefficient and does not have adequate checks and balances.
Don't be deceived by all the hype.
One very rich man can decide to buy the dollar to hoard and kept, and that alone can cause a major move in the exchange rate.

And for someone of his status, I'd expect he understands the physics, chemistry and risks involved AND would have taken all precautions. But who is to say Kazeem onigas will take those safety precautions? Plus is gas powered vehicles really the way forward? I don't know the stats but in say the US, I'd like to see what percentage of ICE vehicles are gas powered compared to petrol.
The use of LPG/CNG as vehicle fuel is the next thing in the global energy transition agenda.
This technology is not new and it has been in use in Ghana for almost 20 years now. Most taxis in Ghana run on LPG/CNG.
The problem is that most Nigerian artisans may rush into it without taking their time to learn and master the art and be near perfect. So many quack generator mechanics, and same may happen to the LOG/CNG conversion thing.

This is a good move, I know many are waiting to hear news of when we can start spending dollars on our naira cards.

How can one have millions in a naira account but can't spend when you travel out, some lunatic tells me I can only spend $100 monthly.

If you are waiting to spend dollars on your naira card, click the like button.... lol

It is better you understand the consequence as regards the exchange rate.
This would make the dollar to be N1000 in a few weeks, and destroy things more.
We have a president that is operating market-dictated, capitalist ideas but the market on Nigeria is not a skewed type with no checks and balances.
By the time the dollar reaches N1000, the same govt. would some back againand tell you that fuel must sell for N1000 per litre because ''subsidy is a scam'' and that they cannot be father christmas to other neigbhouring countries forgeting that it is Nigerian masses that are suffering and dieing..

Please stop a while and think deep. Don't be fooled by the silly assertion that Nigeria is doing father Christmas to neighbouring countries. There can never be an end to the so-called "subsidies" if they keep importing refined products and the naira keeps depreciation.
CFA is now stronger than Naira so it is cheaper for smugglers to come but fuel here and bribe your customs officers, ship it across the borders and sell to make profit.
Music/Radio › Re: Top 10 Nigerian Dance Styles Of All Time. by mikeapollo: 3:07pm On Jun 13, 2023
sentee:
Nigeria, known for its rich culture and diversity, has a plethora of captivating dances that have captivated audiences for generations. Nigerians love to dance . Many Nigerian artists know this, so they are always making songs for the hottest dance, or – for the more creative ones – creating a new dance move for fans to rock to and increase the shelf life of their songs. Some of these dance steps were not invented by Nigerian artists, but the moment they crossed into our airwaves, we made them our own, and created mad jamz around them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwOL_fwWILg

1. Zanku Dance. It was introduced by Zlatan Ibile in late 2018, The Zanku Dance involves quick legwork, often performed with hands raised in the air. Its infectious rhythm and captivating moves have made it a staple in clubs, parties, and music videos

2. Shaku Shaku Dance. This street dance originated in the streets of Lagos and has taken the Nigerian music scene by storm. With its unique leg movements and shoulder shrugs, the Shaku Shaku Dance has become synonymous with the Afrobeat genre and has even garnered international recognition.

3. Azonto Dance. Originating from Ghana but adopted by Nigerians, it was originally created by Ghanaian singer Fuse ODG when his hit song of the same name was released in 2011 the Azonto Dance quickly became a sensation. Wizkid stepped in to show his patriotism by doing a freestyle on it. The new video went viral and gained more views than even the original video from Fuse himself. The dance incorporates a variety of moves, including hand gestures, footwork, and body isolations. Azonto Dance is known for its fun, freestyle nature, allowing dancers to showcase their creativity.

4. Alanta Dance. This energetic and humorous dance took Nigeria by storm. Alanta became a house hold name in the dance moves trend in. Nigeria around 2007/2008. The dance is Credited to music duo ArtQuake, The Alanta Dance involves exaggerated leg and arm movements, often imitating the actions of a drunk person. It gained massive popularity, with people of all ages joining in the fun.

5. Etighi dance also known as Kukere dance. Hailing from the south-south region of Nigeria, this dance style blends traditional movements with contemporary flair. It became mainstream popular when Nigerian Singer Iyanya; who is from this region released the video for his hit single, Kukere in 2012. It features graceful steps, hip swings, and hand gestures that create a visually captivating performance. The Etighi Dance is commonly performed during cultural festivals and social gatherings.

6. Sekem dance. This dance style was popularized by Nigerian artist Mc Galaxy, and it became a viral sensation. The Sekem Dance involves rhythmic body movements, including twisting, swaying, and shaking. Its catchy music and easy-to-follow steps make it a favorite choice for parties and celebrations.

7. Galala Dance. This dance step is associated with “the ghetto” or Ajegunle, Lagos. It originated from the pseudo-reggae sound made popular by artistes like Ras Kimono, Blacky, Fada U Turn, etc. the Galala Dance was a prominent dance style during the era of Nigerian music legend Daddy Showkey. This energetic dance involves fast footwork, waist rotations, and arm movements. The Galala Dance was a symbol of street culture and self-expression.

8. Makossa Dance. Originating from Cameroon but widely embraced in Nigeria, the Makossa Dance is a vibrant and sensual dance style. It combines quick waist movements, hip rotations, and footwork. Makossa means “dance” in the native tongue of Douala in Cameroon, makossa was probably the first dance trend of the 2000s. With it, artistes like Awilo Longomba and Koffi Olamide toured all over Africa, and Makossa soon spread like wildfire, becoming one of the most popular Nigerian dances, even till date. The Makossa Dance has been featured in numerous Nigerian music videos, showcasing the nation's love for this dance.

9. Skelewu Dance. Created by Nigerian music superstar Davido, in the music video for his 2013 record of the same name. In a much more concerted effort to create a dance hit, the release of the song was coupled with a social media competition for the most liked rendition of the dance. Fairly simple, the dance is comprised of a backwards rolling of the shoulders with one arm continually extended and the other arm placed either on your waist or on your chest.

10. Shoki dance. Shoki is a Nigerian street dance by Lil Kesh. This particular dance was one of the biggest Nigerian dance trends to ever sweep through the country this popular dance gained massive popularity in the early 2010s, and the good thing is that it is still popular now. The Shoki involves a series of sharp and precise movements, accompanied by a signature shoulder shake. It's energetic, fun, and a favorite at parties and clubs.
Azonto was not created by Fuse ODG! He even said it in his so that he visited Ghana and saw people doing the dance.
Azonto is still the most enjoyable of all the dance styles. Flexible, communicative, sexy. It is not aggressive and stressful like some of the other dance styles

Nobody invests money to lose the money 🤣........ Forget about the fraudulent quote the wife of tinubu is putting up that God has blessed the Tinubu's family and they don't need Nigerian money🤣🤣🤣🤣....... God has blessed them but they have clinged to Lagos State's mega revenue and resources for years now......God has blessed them but they have made sure their stooge continue as Government in Lagos to continue their stealing of Tax player's money......God has blessed them but they used billions of Naira to bribe their way to power and snatch political power to run away with ithuh.....God has blessed them but they spent billions to bankroll many youths to kill, intimidate, snatch ballot boxes, and even impersonate online as patriotic Nigerians for them to remain on the good books of Gulible Nigerians ....... Anyone thinking Tinubu is the solution to Nigeria's problems is just totally blind...... Nigeria is doomed or else The New Nigeria comes to pass.

What Tinubu did shows he could be very reckless and not deep enough when it comes to thinking about how to govern.
I am already seeing a nepotistic tendency like what happened under Buhari.
He will fail badly if he decides to fill his cabinet and appointments with mostly Yoruba people instead of spreading appointments across the 6 zones of the nation.

This is a stupid and thoughtless statement. It is silly to punish 200m people because some few other people are stealing from the government and the govt is clueless and cannot arrest or investigate them.
The real issue with the so called fuel subsidy is the depreciation of the Naira. So, it is cheaper for people using stable currency like CFA to buy the fuel in Nigeria and smuggle it to other countries to sell for profit
There can never been an end to this so called subsidy if the Naira keeps depreciating and the FGN refuses to investigate the fraud in the subsidy payments and prosecute the people that are stealing from the scheme. I
The same argument was used by Obasanjo and Goodluck to increase the price of fuel in years past.
If the dollar exchange rises to N1200, the same idiots in govt will still come back and say they want to remove subsidy again.

I hope my story will motivate someone to take charge of their life.
I lost my job last year July, and so a friend of mine introduce me to a poultry farm where I am earning 22k per month.

A man with wife and two kids o, my wife was not happy with the job even though she has been supportive in her own little way. And then, she suggested that I should learn handwork, and so I decided to learn welder.

On getting to the man, he told me I will spend 2 years o, I will pay 70k to learn from him. Me way I no get even 20k, I begged him to collect 50k and he agreed.

Then he asked me to make part payment of 30k. I went home and told my wife, and then she gave me 20k to give to the man. I gave the man 20k and he collected it, to my greatest surprise within 2 months I started doing the welding job perfectly.

On my own, I have paid up the remaining 30k with small small repairs job he allowed me to be doing for people. And by God's grace, I have started saving up for my tools.

I really thank my wife for the advice and the welder too. The man has been a tremendous blessing to me in many way. He even told me yesterday that with the look of things I may be free from him in 2 months time except I decided to still remain with him for a while.

Please take charge of your life and stop depending on people for survival.
This is my advice to you: Dont be in a hurry to leave the man. I know age is not on your side, but try and learn many more tricks and volunteer to do the difficult and dirty jobs. That is how you would be able to master the tricks.
When you are very confident that you are okay, then you can go set up your own workshop. You can also apply to go abroad to countries like Canada and Germany where they need people like you.

Yes, they can meet to discuss how to mitigate the spontaneous effect of the removal. But I trust the great Jagaban of Africa, subsidy is gone and gone for good.

A line may be added in the salaries of public and civil servants. Learning and medical facilities may be provided in appropriate institutions at reduced prices for the benefit of Nigerians. Infact, there are more than a million ways to redirect the subsidy funds for our collective good.

But continued enrichment of the already very rich fuel marketers in the name of the scam called subsidy should stop forthwith.

Now I want to make the right choice, which job should I pick cos I'm also thinking of japa very soon
You have the answers already:
Take the 500K job, but make sure you restrict your budget as if you are taking 95k per month.
That would enable you to save very well and invest or travel.

If you are already considering the possibility of taking the 95k job, then it means you could survive on it, so the extra 400k should go into serious savings/investments over the next few years and you would find your status gradually changed. Beware of things that could snatch the money from you.!

Nigeria.
Who first made it, we don't know. But historically, Nigerian culture is older than that of Ghana and Senegal so it's possible Nigeria made it first. Though I stand to be corrected.
Later, I m seeing it here that Wollof tribe of Senegal started Jollof rice with palm oil n condiments. You should know how horrible jollof with palm oil will taste. So the trophy of who made it better and popular belongs to Nigeria.
Foods like eba, pounded yam & fufu were popular world wide cos if Nigerian influence in selling them in overseas.
Amala on its own is peculiar with Yorubas. Meaning Nigerians are the first to eat Amala cos it's origin is from Yorubaland. Amala is of two types, brown amala and white amala.
Brown from grinded yam peels and white from grinded cassava
Typical Nigerian mentality of trying to steal the credit for something that others did or crested or originated.
Nigeria did not make jollof popular! Arrogating things to yourself is a sign of greed and covetousness, and that is what makes people to steal all sorts of things, ideas without acknowledging the original owners and even go into more serious crimes like stealing and robbery!
