Rossnitti: Name the 'infrastructure' you're referring to here.
You'll probably find that building that 'infrastructure' is part of the Siemens deal.
All I see is loud noise from a buffoon, like the other negative-minded, ignorant and stupid buffoons on this thread.
You actually DON'T want progress in this country, you lot. You want it to fail because you're evil-minded people who need to be negative and hateful, or you'll go mental. Any rational human being that is conversant with the power sector in Nigeria would know. This is the third or fourth time that 'agreements'' have been reached with Siemens and other companies to generate 20,000MW plus for Nigeria. Since the late 1990s and early 2000s. Currently battling to achieve and sustain an output of about 5000MW for more than a decade and still nothing to show. The human brain is given so you could think. But common sense is not common after all. Why should a simple online discussion/debate degenerate to insults? The ''buffoon'' that you see should be one that shares same DNA and lineage with you and probably your fore-bearers |

Fashola the corrupt thief is at it again. Totally clueless and corrupt. The only thing he knows is to increase prices and extort money from the masses. Same thing he did as Lagos Governor, then Minister of Power and now as Minister of Works and Roads. Obasanjo cancelled tolls on the roads because he increased fuel price. This Buhari govt. has increased fuel price multiple times, and so why the toll fees again? They increase prices with nothing to show for it!! Useless govt. |

Impossible!!! Nigeria does not have the infrastructure to carry or accommodate 25,000MW in six years! And we cannot put the infrastructure in place in six years! All lies and wishful thinking!! It will take a minimum of 15-20 years to achieve 25,000mMW |

Travel › Re: The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living In Lagos by mikeapollo: 11:12am On Jun 05, 2020 |
landforeast: ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF LIVING IN LAGOS
ADVANTAGES Lagos has a huge Market for your Products and Services. Infact someone said that if you package a refuse bin and sell it in Oshodi, you will sell off everything in a matter of hours , if not minutes. That is to tell you that there is a market for any kind of products and services you offer.
Lagos has the best nightLife: If you are the type that never sleeps, you love clubbing and flexing then Lagos is your home because as the "City that never sleeps and the headquarter of Entertainment in Nigeria, Lagos is a City filled with fund, coastal Tourism activities, Clubbing, patties and all Kinds of Events.
Lagos Supports and Nurtures Small and Medium Scale Business: Lagos helps you to nurture your Small scale Business. The City has all it takes for an Entrepreneur to succeed, from vibrant Startup EcoSystem, access to finance, grants and high profile events to different Networking events, master classes and exhibitions to mention but a few.
Lagos has many Job Opportunities: Although Lagos is no longer Like before in terms of Job Opportunities, when compared with other states, Lagos is still ahead.
There are many Business Opportunities in Lagos: Your One week Stay in Lagos will bring thousands of business ideas rummaging your brain. The City is full of business Ideas.
Lagos is a City of the Hustlers: If you are born a hustler, there is a high tendency for you to survive in Lagos. If you are hardworking, Lagos is the best place to be.
DISADVANTAGES OF LAGOS
Cost of Transport is on the High Side: In Lagos, if you are not careful you may end up working and have transportation gulp up your earnings. Just yesterday I spent around 2500 naira just to convey myself from Ikeja to Lekki Phase 1. Just imagine someone spending such an amount of money everyday to convey his or herself to Lekki everyday. By the end of the Month he will be spending close to 70K only on Transport. Now you understand while people are working in Lagos, yet they have nothing to show for it.
LAGOS TRAFFIC IS A NIGHTMARE: Lagos is a City where you can stay in the Traffic for many hours. Have you heard the Story of Funke who went to drop her Aunty who is based in London at the Airport. While Funke was still in traffic, her Aunty called her that she had successfully arrived at London. That is a tip of an iceberg on how horrendous Lagos Traffic is. When I first Entered Lagos, I was to attend an Interview at VI, then I was residing in Ojo. Since I was ignorant of Lagos traffic, I woke up around 6 O'clock to prepare just like every other person's living in other cities will do. But did you know that singular act cost me that Job which I was pretty sure of being selected for because I arrived at the interview venue by 12 pm.
House Rent in Lagos is on the High Side: Unlike other Cities in Nigeria, Lagos is the only City where you will pay for agent and agreement as equal or sometimes higher than your House rent. Still don't know why the state Government is not rising up to criminalise such evil perpetrated by Landlords and agents. You will hear them saying 50, 50 for a self Contained apartment of 120,000. Another thing is that finding a decent house might be a little challenging to you unless you have enough bucks or are ready to live in the satellite towns which will be far from the City center. Another thing is may God help you not to enter the wrong house which Lagos is mostly Characterised with.
There is No fresh Air in Lagos: With a population of about 30 Million people crowded in the smallest state in Nigeria by Land mass. It will be a miracle for you to have fresh air. If you need fresh air in Lagos maybe you might just relocate to Ikorodu or Epe part of Lagos which is currently being hit by high waves of urbanisation.
Lagos is a Dirty City: Although the present Government is trying all it can to keep the City clean but that does not take away the fact that Lagos is one of the dirtiest Cities in Nigeria.
There is too much Noise in Lagos: Yes there is too much Noise in the City. From the Danfo drivers and conductors who rant like a Sallah ram, to Agberos who are vociferously constituting nuisance with their cracked voice, indeed Lagos is very noisy except you live in quiet Estates in luxurious neighbourhoods.
Connecting with the Rich in Lagos is a little bit hard: Unlike in Abuja and other Cities in Nigeria where you can always run into an influential person and you connect with them and possibly exchange contact. That will only happen in Lagos by Devine connection from above. Everybody in the City is very careful because of "Onye ma Onye" (who knows who).
FINALLY Before you make that move to either relocate to Lagos or to relocate out of Lagos. Just sit down with one bottle of cold Trophy and a plate of Isiewu or Delicious Nkwobi and ask yourself some mind boggling questions that will enable you to make a good decision you will never regret.

Powerintoxicate: This is crazy. Now the lockdown has been relaxed. People will have to commute to work in Lagos and Abuja. Most people in these cities use public transport.
How will social distancing and proper sanitizing work in a crowded danfo or brt? And for those in Abuja how will you take your cabs or along where four passengers are jammed at the back?
Nigeria is not ready certainly for this . Pray there's no explosion of cases after one week This is when you realize how unplanned and unorganized we are as a country. In nearby Ghana, the same thing is well controlled because there is an ongoing cooperation/collaboration between the govt. (ministry of transport and highways) and private transporters called GPRTU. They have agreed to the number of passengers to be picked by taxis, buses of different sizes/passenger load etc. But here in Nigeria, we so disorganized that there is no control or organization in whatever we do. They would end up spreading the Covid-19 in many of these buses. |

Foolish talk by FGN. If the lecturers have more than one job, what would the govt. do when there is scarcity of qualified lecturers in Nigerian universities? Many lecturers teach in private universities and you cannot force them to sack the lecturers. At the end of the day, federal universities would lose many lecturers and the rot in our educational system would continue. Some school cert dropouts are receiving millions per month as politicians and you have the guts to blame lecturers for having multiple jobs when you pay them pittance!!. |

Crime › Two Nigerian Robbers Arrested In Ghana For Stealing Govt. Cars by mikeapollo(op): 9:01am On Mar 27, 2020 |
The Tesano police in Accra are holding two Nigerians for allegedly stealing two brand new Nissan pickups belonging to the Ministry of Regional Reorganization and Development. The suspects are Prince Okafor, 36, and Augustine Okafor, 25. According to the police, two of their accomplices who aided them in the crime have also been identified as Okoboi Jude Iweanya, a washing bay attendant, and one Obina, both of whom are currently at large. The Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Frederick Adu Anim, who confirmed the arrest to DGNonline, said the vehicles were sent to Dele Johnson Washing Bay for cleaning when the suspects stole them. He said on March 24, 2020 around 5:30 am, the Tesano police, during their routine snap checks at a spot near Achimota Neoplan Station, arrested Prince Okafor and Augustine Okafor driving the two unregistered brand new Nissan Hardbody pickups. He said the suspects had stolen the vehicles from the washing bay at Community 16 Junction in Tema. “When a search was conducted on the suspects, police discovered one Tecno phone, one Lenovo phone, one itel and Nokia phones and a Federal Republic of Nigeria Passport with number A05179065 issued in the name of Okoboi Jude Iweanya,” he disclosed. The police commander said investigations revealed that 12 Nissan Hardbody pickups were procured through SVANI Ltd for the Ministry of Regional Reorganization and Development, which were yet to be delivered. He said the importing company on March 23, 2020 sent all the 12 vehicles to Dele Johnson Washing Bay at Community 16 Junction for cleaning after which it would be delivered to the said ministry. He maintained that while the vehicles were at the washing bay, suspect Okoboi Jude Iweanya, a washing bay attendant, together with another identified only as Obina and the arrested suspects, stole two of the vehicles. “SVANI Ltd has come to identify the two unregistered vehicles as being part of the fleet of the 12 they sent to Dele Johnson Washing Bay for cleaning,” he added. He revealed that the owner of the washing bay, Dele Johnson, was also picked up by the police to assist in their investigations. wirinet: This is what you wrote;
When I pointed out to you that you are wrong and that Nigerians do indeed run their homes and offices with electricity, and do have water running in their homes, you then changed mouth to generator or solar/inverter and public water system. The amount of electricity generated by generators and solar panels in Lagos west alone is more than all your public electricity generated throughout Ghana. I have generator and solar panels in my home, not to even talk about NEPA, that is constant where I live. I have hot water running in my taps, as there is borehole in most homes in Lagos. You are glorifying mediocrity and failure! You have a country that cannot generate electricity for its households and industry, in the midst of massive unemployment and poverty; and that is your pride? In the 21st century? I am shocked! I reserve my comment! Ghana generates about 5000 MW of electricity for its 30million people,: almost same as or close to what Nigeria' produces for 170m people. Do the statistics . And you may decide to glorify failure and mediocrity once again if you wish! A villager in Ghana has access to electricity 5 times more than someone living in the biggest cities in Nigeria. You may want to celebrate that as victory for Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: ECOWAS New Currency - Compare Ghana's Response To Nigeria's Response by mikeapollo: 8:56am On Jan 01, 2020 |
Area4Area: Yes we are still "studying" the situation and just as I said, we are free to accept, withdraw and accept as we deem fit. AfCTA and even the Eco should've been all concluded years back if it wasn't the reluctance of Nigeria over the years because yes, we were "studying" the situation with those leeching countries around us. Remember that the government shut down the land borders almost immediately the AfCTA was signed thereby making rubbish of any silly agreement with ECOWAS or AfCTA. Please stop over-hyping Nigeria in these things. There were many issues that delayed the Eco, chief among them being how to adopt another common currency alongside the CFA. The AfCTA and Eco were not delayed just because of Nigeria's reluctance. The fact that the two agenda are being implemented without Nigeria's inclusion or acceptance should tell you this. |
