Asking po st=78138241: Does it really work? Bro, it works perfectly. Some years ago, my colleague at work place decided to give it a trial. He applied for the transcript to be sent to him using our work place as address. He chose DHL from several mail options available as delivery agency. He used his credit card and was debited. Same day, he received a call, "Good afternoon, am I on to Mr. .... I am calling from UNN transcript office. Please, we have a little challenge on locating your file. Hence, the need for this call. What year did you graduate?" Three days time, na so DHL man brought the transcript to the young man. The young man and I was like "See UNN don turn obodo oyibo school o. So something can work in this country. Very stress free with only N10,000 for local" |

Give it to UNN on this. The only university in Nigeria where you don't need to visit the school to have your transcript mailed to any institution of your choice within three days of payment. Just a matter of being in the comfort of your bedroom with internet and you are good to go in three days. Life made easy. But some years ago, it was hell on earth in the same institution. Thanks to Prof Bartho Okoro |

Admitwithschola: Lol, guy, it does not work as you see it. We inspect transcripts!!
If someone gets a first by acing the trivial courses, for example, and another person gets a 4.4 2:1 by blasting the more difficult courses, the latter gets an advantage.
Grad schools do not just look at the GPA, we look courses too. In PhD economics, someone who did measure theory, real analysis, probability theory at the MATH department is higher, in our eyes, than someone who did some "mathematics for economist" at the ECON department in Nigeria and was scoring 100% Lol, guy, it doesn't work as you put it. There's no course in Nigerian universities and in diaspora that's called "measure theory". Real analysis specifically isn't for economics students any where in the world but for students studying mathematics or statistics at the undergraduate level. Furthermore, your submission for PhD admission in economics holds no water in Nigeria specifically. The reason is that no Nigerian University accepts MSc from a field other than economics into her PhD. And in PhD admission for economics, emphasis is majorly placed on micro economics, macro economics, and econometrics in the event of where the applicant attains either 60% weighted average or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale in MSc |

JoannaSedley: This is an indictment and I hope you have the evidences. I mentioned three orthopaedic hospitals but you singled out NOHE. Quite understandable since you must have had a bad experience with them. What happened to the other two? Orthos are not that much in number in Nigeria so the cases each of them handles shouldnt be hidden. If Nwadinigwe defaults as you proclaimed someone else can take the baton and continue the race. Your forgot that private practitioners are trained in the same residency institutions as their public counterpart. The only different is the equipments theyeirk with. Bro, I am sorry to say that Nigerian Drs are only after what they get monthly from the government. Most of them went into the profession and practice for money making reason which they won't tell people. From junior reg in residency to chief consultant. For private practitioners that you mentioned, they understand the rule of engagement - effort is not rewarded but results. Visit private hospitals such as St. Nicholas at Lagos and Memfez in Enugu and compare the service delivery to patients with that of the Orthopaedic hospitals you mentioned. Finally, in statistics, no one adopt population for study. The emphasis is sampling. Hence, I am not wrong if I single on NOHE to represent the three orthopaedic hospitals in Nigeria. Reason being that the evidence are readily available. Thanks |

JoannaSedley: Pedicle screws and rods . It must be a spine surgery.. Lumbar fusion surgery. Doing the surgery without adequate preparation of what could work and couldn't work is a serious error on his part. Do not believe that no public hospitals in Nigeria has the equipments. He shouldn't have started the surgery in the first place if the implements are not available. That's too crass and reeks of poor judgements. He should have referred the patient to a government facilities where such cases can be managed. Nigeria maybe bad but there are government hospitals with good management teams where good happens irrespective of the Nigerian factors. The three orthopedic hospitals in Nigeria where cases like this are handled on daily bases wouldn't have ran out of screws and rods. If the screws and rods are not available in Nigeria, an order would've been made to bring it in within the one month it took the patient to wait for the surgery.
He should have referred your mum to an orthopaedic hospital either Enugu, Dala-Kano or Igbobi instead of his private hospital. Now he and the management of DELSUTH will start explaining to unlicensed social media judges? For your record, Nigerian public hospitals including the Orthopaedic that you mentioned can't perform successful spinal surgery. Your over-rated National Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu (NOHE) confined patients with incomplete spinal injury to wheel chair. Is it the NOHE that has charged a patient for six pedicle screws and used four and didn't tell the patient. As if that wasn't enough, 48 hour of arrival in NOHE, the patient was given 48 hour to effect payment for spinal decompression and pedicle screw for the surgery to be done immediately. After payment, the narratives changed. "Our C-Arm machine just went faulty on your arrival. Let's wait for God's time". The God's time became a month after paying for surgery. Okay, let's leave that aside. The medical director, Dr Nwadinigwe who did the surgery, never followed up his patient for once in the ward after surgery to know how he's fairing and responding to treatment. In all, after a year and some months, when the patient couldn't see noticeable change given it was incomplete spinal injury, a Dr in a private hospital reviewed his case and subjected him to post-op MRI. The later MRI report was in consonance with pre-op MRI. Compression of T4 and T5 vertebrae. Bro, that's NOHE that you acclaimed is good. And Dr Nwadinigwe is the only certified spinal surgeon in NOHE. |

MiddleDimension: all these ones you are saying is simply putting the blame squarely on the students, who are REALLY trying their best.
the solution is: BUILD MORE TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS AND INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE EXISTING ONES.
A STUDENT THAT SCORES 200 IN JAMB IS IN MY OPINION GOOD ENOUGH TO STUDY MEDICINE, LAW AND EVEN ENGINEERING. 200 IS 50% OF TOTAL JAMB SCORE. 50% IS NOT A BAD SCORE Very naive thesis. The government can't fund the existing universities for reasons best known to our politicians, and you are advocating creation of new mushroom universities all in a bid to absorbed students. Must everyone go to university? Competition drives efficiency. |

Sure!!! That's how the Lizard of Ubima became a Governor. He never contested the general election. It was PDP primaries that he contested and the result had "K" leg according to Obasanjo until the judiciary strengthen the leg. |

priceaction: If president declare state of emergency in that state, the politicians, that are buying ammunition for these guys will be the one to cry out loud that they want to turn the state to anarchy. It has gotten to a state of terrible happenings recently and the politicians are using them, equipping them especially those in powers and in oppositions. Its so terrible thing my brother. Things are really getting out of control in this country faster than expected. imagine spreading to other major cities like this. But i wonder how ameachi was able to curtail their excesses when he was in power. The irony is that wike that served under ameachi and part of those that got solution then seems looking the other way now while the state turns to unrest. Speak what you know. How do you expect cultism to be tamed in Rivers State given the supposedly "cold war" between Amaechi and Wike. When Amaechi was the Governor of the State, did anybody constitute a nuisance to him and his administration? If he had a rival then, do you think he would check the excesses of cultism in the State? In Rivers State, which politician is devoid of cultism. Then imagine when two king pin are fighting for supremacy of the state. |
