Libya in war is not better than Nigeria in peace.

That is complete nonsense and those that have returned will tell you that.

The reason why these people are in this mess is precisely because of misinformation such as that which you are spreading.

Some would say this is Darwin's law at work. On the one hand they have my sympathy as human beings but at some point Africans need to stop thinking that they can keep running away from their terrible leaders, foolish cultural habits and refusal to use their brains and natural resources.

This should be an embarrassment to almost all African celebrities..... always jumping on the American trending band wagon and having a whole lot to say ...but remain silent...dead silent on issues at home or close to home.... Black Americans celebrities speak out about issues affecting them.... they have the influence and they use it. Not one bit surprised by Chris Brown ...it's normal stuff for these guys...they speak out.
Africans still see slavery as normal/acceptable.

I've always said that Africans have learned NOTHING from the preceding 500 years. It's why I laugh when I hear and see Africans act as if they are somehow better than African-Americans. It is the Africans who are mumu, not the descendants of slaves who are awake to the realities of this world.

1.Thanks for demystifying Ghana....

2.The grid is the biggest of our problems. It needs replacing...and the cost is darn high. And we STILL need to increase generation...
Hence the talk of bill increase.

I know...govt has not done well. But we cannot keep on pretending that govt can fund power without taking a loan, or that power can flow adequately when people and big govt agencies refuse to pay their bills.
You're right that they need funding and your first point about the idiots who bypass the payment systems is also true.

The obsession with running a unitary system in all things is destroying Nigeria from the inside out. Get rid of the national grid system and it becomes clearer which areas are lacking and by how much. As it is Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom states generate enough power for their needs but end up sending it to places such as Katsina and Sokoto that generate almost nothing.

The other issue is one of law enforcement and the protection of private property, a common issue in Nigeria. Nigeria is grossly under-policed, state police are a necessity.

That's man's inhumanity to man. It is a fact that most of the people that were taken away during the slave trade were not "stolen" or forced, they were sold by their parents and community leaders. Now see what's happening here and yet no adequate publicity.

If it was that fake Chibok girls story that were kidnapped by the politicians they would have carried placards as if they care about us.
Why would they care about you when as you said it is Africans selling their kinsmen into slavery, again?

You can't help stupid people.

You can't help people who have no regard for their own welfare or environment.

Well, have read most of the comments, and I am not dissapointed...Nigerians as usual...

1.For those of you saying...IT IS APC'S fault

Well, the reason why tarrifs are going up is because GEJ hath privatised power...and not only that, the law that allowed for power privatization allowed for price increases as well.

And the reason why GEJ privatized power was because he got a report from the Senate in 2013 telling him that for power to be guaranteed for 24/7...we needed to spend 300 billion dollars over 3 years...100bn on transmission alone.

2.The reason why bills have to go up is because we are not paying enough for power. Ghana has light 24/7....and they pay twice as much for power as we do.

And here is this

Cost of powering one room apt in UK for one month...14,500 Naira.
Cost of powering two bedroom flat in Nigeria for TWO months: 6000 Naira.

3.Keep in mind that MOST Nigerians don't pay their bills. Many even bypass their meters. And when DISCO guys come around to disconnect defaulters...they get beaten up severely.AND WE CHEER.

4.Tell me...under these circumstances...why we cannot have light 24/7...when Nigerians refuse to pay their bills? Tell me?

If we want power 24/7, we should pay our bills....and maybe we should do so at higher rates.

After all...DISCOS and GENCOS have staff that need to get their daily bread too!

Either we pay higher bills.....OR TAKE A LOAN OF 300 BILLION USD from the IMF so that we can keep paying our cheap bills...while our grandkids pay the loan later...and curse us.

If you like blast me....just tell me where we will get 300 billion today today? (Our forex reserve is 34Billion.)
Nigeria could have 24 hour electricity (in some places) were it not for the useless national grid system.

Also, why did you compare prices in Nigeria with the UK? Why not compare with India, China or Canada?

Part of the the reason why the UK is de-industrializing is because of the high cost of energy. It is also why they've been talking about adding more nuclear power.

As for Ghana, everything in Ghana is overpriced which is why the economy hardly moves. They haven't done anything special to generate power - they have a large body of water and they built a dam many decades ago. Foreign businesses held the government of the day to ransom and have done so since to get subsidized rates for power, meanwhile the common man pays heavily.

Finally, they don't have 24/7 electricity in Ghana. It is better than Nigeria but you will need a backup generator for several hours of the week.

yes you have apoint

the reason is: the bible says WHO SO EVER SHALL SAY..AND SHALL NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART....he shall have what so ever he BELIVES AND SAYS..whites practice this unknowing or subconciously, you see their very brave and BELIEVE THEY can do all things..ANd INDEED THEy ACHIEVE, they are practicing GODS LAW, IN AFRICA WE go to chucrh but are fiiled with FEAR of witches etc..FEAR IS THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH and the bible says AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN YOUR HEART SO SHALL IT be on to you...FAITH IS GODS LAW, papa oyedepo understands this law hence his properity

second law of GOD IS LOVE....white will call the cops when they see one or some one in in trouble,,wasnt it a white man that donated crutches to a beggar the other day..wasnt it a white man that was killed in delta during his charity work..so you see whites practice love subconciously...but the black man or africa mans mentality is PULL HIM DOWN

GOD operates via law...He gives us what we believe not what we want

in other words wer all gods...and are weapons are FAITH AND LOVE...the white man has a belief system close to that...while the african man has a beggarly mindset..,lacks belief ..even when the bible says yeah are gods..
Whites also go into churches to kill everyone.

Progress comes when people exercise the computer inside them called a brain instead of abdicating personal responsibility to 'elders' and religious charlatans.

Maybe if they spent less on religious nonsense and gifting bonuses to pastors they would be able to afford it?

The FG is in a hurry to boost revenue without matching it with real infrastructures to ease the public suffering... I call it a backyard development of Nigeria. Shame on our leaders.
Shame on Nigerians for not holding these idiots to account

By now some of these people should have been dragged from their homes, cars, churches and stoned.

But Nigerians would rather turn a blind eye.

I'm so disappointed at the Sultan.

I truly expected Sultan to say what happened in Agatu, Nimbo,Plateau and Numan will not go unpunished.

That would show you share the pain whenever any Nigerian is killed and not only when fulani is killed.

Truth is that unless Nigeria begins to have statesmen that condemn evil no matter who is involved, Nigerians will naturally revenge the killing of their people by the herdsmen and herdsmen can go ahead an borrow more debt by killing more villagers.

Numan will happen again in another place. That is just the type of leaderless and bigoted Nigeria we live in today.
Until Nigerians realize that their traditional rulers are overwhelmingly useless this will continue.

We already know that this Sultan is a curse upon Nigeria but has he ever done anything to improve the lives of Fulanis?

You shouldn't feel pity for them now.

In case you have forgotten there was a time when local communities in the north east were sheltering Boko Haram fighters from the authorities. A number of non-combatant northerners have been caught smuggling fuel and other provisions to these terrorists so that they can continue killing.
