according to them Yorubas are betrayers and backstabbers. I listened to radio Biafra constantly January to march 2015 and one thing is sure, the struggle is dead on arrival except they go about it a different way
What did the Yorubas do that they call them 'backstabbers'?

clowns... you want Biafra? follow these steps

1.) elect pro-biafra people into offices in the south east as governors, lg chairmen, senators, reps, etc (this will easily prove you have the number to win a referendum).

2.) get them to push the Biafra agenda in their respective positions without going against the laws of the country.

3.) let your senators and reps make alliances that will aid the passage of a bill for a referendum to be conducted in the SE

4.) come out en-masse to vote for an exit from Nigeria

the four steps above will ensure the birth of Biafra od at least 80% completed without making enemies with the rest of us.

insulting other tribes and using hate speech to incite violence and blaming us for your woes will not get you Biafra.

operating an unlicensed/rogue radio station to spread your hate agenda will not get you Biafra.

if you want Biafra follow the right steps
I agree with you on all of your points.

The other thing I do not understand is why they appear to have made no steps to identify and join forces with elements in the south-west who also wish to leave Nigeria?

If two people are trying to escape from a prison surely it makes sense for them to attempt to assist each other and weaken their common enemy?

and when you eradicate the only moral chain keeping people from becoming psycho nd engaging in crime without remorse, what then? is saudi arabia not dominated by islam? is America not 'Gods own state'? you thinking religion is the problem shouts the real problem. Blacks are a disease, Africans are still foolish. i hope for our sakes atheism doesnt succeed because this race of humans are just too dull to handle such freedom. Now just look at the damn north.they are natural fools. not of religion! its just natural.
Thank you, you have confirmed a long held belief that people who hide behind religion do so because they hate themselves and cannot trust themselves to think rationally or to make intelligent decisions.

Your argument is based on lazy thinking unsupported by any scientific proof or reasoned argument and also remarkably moronic. If you think that you are too dull to handle responsibility then why do you continue to occupy space? Why do you not get out of the way so that those of use who are unafraid of using our brains can thrive unencumbered by myth, superstition and self-hatred?

If half of Nigerians are mentally intelligent enough to understand the logic of this, the country will be nearly out of mental and religious slavery!

But since 99% of Nigerians lack commonsense, it will take a long time - in the meantime they will continue to buy jets for pastors and imams, they will continue to use their brains less for science and practical development, and more on securing the fake-afterlife!
It isn't 99% there are a lot more agnostics and atheists around than most people recognize but there's a stigma to saying that religion is nonsense in Nigeria.

Thankfully times are changing and hopefully the power of the various religious organization will subside and allow for rational thought and progress to take hold. Nigeria needs it. We can all see what religion has caused in Nigeria, this petition is a good step in the right direction.

And that's what i like about it @bolded. But that platform or entity doesn't have to be an atheist society. They are religious individuals who are quite rational. The atheist society is making it seem like an "Us vs Them" kind of scenario.
They're rational to a point - for you to accept religious dogma you need to turn your back on reason.

A rational person wouldn't accept stories about virgin births, talking donkeys or people living for hundreds of years.

So while it may seem as though it's "Us vs Them" the reality is that it's "Myth vs Skepticism".

I understand the move tho, I just don't think the Atheist society should be the one making this petition. Soon the so called Atheist society would be marred in Bureaucracy typical Nigerian fashion, The higher ups would be honour and revere like pastors or religious leaders, The rest of the atheists will have no choice but to accept whatever decision the higher ups make. They would be seen as the representation of atheism in Nigeria. And then a new religion would be born, all what we have condemn. But all in all this is progress, only in the wrong manner.
I somewhat understand your point but you can be an atheist without being a member of the society and I can imagine that most people who don't believe in any deity will just live their lives as normal.

I doubt I'll be joining myself but at least there will be a platform or entity that will work towards breaking some of the foolish taboos that exist.

The difference between being religious and not being so is that there is no requirement that you humble yourself before any person who claims to represent a fictional being.

The word 'jollof' is a Wolof word.

If it originated from Nigeria or Ghana it would have a Yoruba/Akan/Igbo/Hausa word for it.

I don't think it matters. It's west African cuisine that we all enjoy.

There was a lot of noise made in Bayelsa because the governor had the foresight to direct the Fulani's to Bayelsa Palm so that the cattle wouldn't be roaming around destroying crops and fighting the locals.

If these governors want to earn their keep they should come together and make it plain that the era of wandering cattle is over. Buy land, build a ranch and do it a in civilized manner instead of this Fulani mumu nonsense. It's 2017 not 1717.

What do you expect us to do with the money again apart from spending on merriment, getting wasted and banging the nannies grin
Seriously I think we are experiencing all this because a certain gang just want to throw the captain overboard. You can't tell me that when Buhari was contesting he didn't present his plans to his house. I believe sometimes last year he urged Nigerians to go into farming and you know the reactions he got. What other plans do you want him to present when you have already prepared to refuse them all. I tire o
He threw most of his plans to one side once he came to power. He said a lot of things whilst campaigning, most of them were unfeasible. The other problem he has is his reluctance to speak to Nigerians, when in Nigeria. He's very quick to talk to the international press but treats Nigerians with disdain.

Did he not deny that he said that he would make one Naira equal to one Dollar despite the numerous posters? Did he fully reveal his assets as he said that he would? Is his wife not traversing the world as 'first lady' or 'wife of the president' an unconstitutional position that he said he would eradicate? What happened to him cutting back on spending - did the budget not increase recurrent spending?

What reaction did he get when he suggested that Nigerians should go into farming?
Politics › Re: Southwest Support For Buhari Unshaken - TINUBU by mmsen:
akpasubi777:
The Senate refusal to drop the hammer on the budget and refusing to approve federal government nominees are the cause of all the setbacks you mentioned about. Gang Dino/Saraki vs Buhari and the Presidency are locked in a battle of who is who. As we all know there is no smoke without fire. The earlier we as Nigerians compel them to settle this issue the better for us
The issue with the budget was a lack of specifics. The Senate was right to reject it. You can't borrow that much money and not have a clear plan. That has been the primary issue with this government, they've said they care about accountability and transparency but have been more opaque than any government since the military era.

As to the prime actors - I have no time for Buhari, Tinubu, Melaye or Saraki.
Politics › Re: Southwest Support For Buhari Unshaken - TINUBU by mmsen:

You better hold Dino to that. Didn't you hear what he said. "Ajeku iya leyin ma je". He's the one messing with our heads, turning us against each other no wonder he's in Lagos and this statement is coming from you. I believe in many things and coincidence isn't one of them...
The inflation rate is real, that's not sentiment, those are cold, hard, objective facts. Who would be happy with the cost of business increasing? Customers/clients struggling to make their payments on time, if at all.

No one enjoys the process of having to withhold payment to employees or having to shed employees outright and yet it's been the way of things since this government came into office with no economic plan.

We've always known that Tinubu is a thief but now we can see for that he is a liar too. Melaye is useless too, an overgrown child.
