dhardline: You are right about them also having Indian drug dealers no doubt but the reason they chose Nigerians especially says a lot. It doesn't say anything besides Indians being very unsophisticated, lawless people. You think the average Indian knows the difference between a Nigerian and someone from Ghana or Cameroon? Of course not, it's just that when they want to blame someone black they will say 'Nigerian'. |

dhardline: Someone else mentioned me. On this thread and gave me a first hand experience of the level of crime committed by Nigerians there. He in that virtually everyday in the papers there is news about Nigerians caught either with drugs or involved in scam. So I think the attacks are more attached to the crimes being carried out there by Nigerians. Those news reports will no doubt create a skewed image of what actually happens. It's a tactic often used to besmirch the name of an individual or group. I'm sure there are lots of Indian drug dealers as well as Indian drug users who fuel the trade so why would they focus so much on Nigerians? |

dhardline: OK... Since you have all the understanding on moral and ethics kindly give me a brief on why so many youths are running out of the country to seek greener pastures outside irrespective of the fact that Nigeria is blessed with virtually everything we can think of. Just a brief on this will do. Thanks I agree with you but that's another debate and doesn't justify being attacked. Do you feel the same way when oyinbo go there and are beaten and raped (which has happened alot over the years)? Just because I leave a burning house does not give someone else the right to attack me. |

Only If our leaders didn't steal so much there would have been jobs and other provisions available here. This is victim blaming and proof that many of you people have no understanding of morals or ethics. |

ayenny02: Let me contribute a little I know from my own experience; The first wife can't or will not neglect as far as she satisfy her husband sexually, respect her husband, she should try to let her food be OK, she should try not to complain too much etc But let's be honest here - if the man is taking a new wife it's often because he has a desire for her physically. It will be he who neglects the first wife sexually and not the other way around. |

snapscore: A man cannot irrevocably divorce his wife and throw her out with nothing. She has the rights to her children, properties ( including whatever he gave her during the marriage) and if she stipulated conditions during the marriage contract in case a divorce happens, she has the right to that too. The man will also be responsible for upkeep and maintaince of the children. And yet it happens. All those child brides who end up with fistula are often thrown onto the street with nothing. |

Not even for ransom, just to have someone to brainwash and abuse. Where is the gain in murdering school boys en masse? Again, no economic gain, just evil. |

AbuHammaad: Astagfirullah I retract my post. Just found this:
The first wife’s consent is not a prerequisite for a man to take another wife. The Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas was asked about this and replied as follows:
It is not obligatory for the husband, if he wants to take a second wife, to have the consent of his first wife, but it is good manners and kindness to deal with her in such a manner that will minimize the hurt feelings such thing might produce. So it’s incumbent on the husband to be kind to his wife, discuss the matter with her in a gentle and pleasant manner, and this should be coupled with spending whatever money may be necessary in order to gain her acceptance of the situation.”
Allah knows best
Mmsen. I appreciate an honest man. Thanks for the time you took to find the real answer. With that said I return to my first question - what protects the first wife from neglect, abuse and divorce should she object? |

AbuHammaad: Any woman the man is bringing home must be known by the existing wife i.e if you marry one, when you want to bring in another one, you must let the one at home know and get her permission, otherwise it's adultery. Once you have up to four, anything outside that is adultery as well How does one deny permission when the man can divorce you and send you out on the street with nothing? |

bantudra: what individuals do with their money,is none of your business...face front.... So you're willing to concede that much of the $2.6 billion that was borrowed to repair the north east and take care of IDPs was misappropriated? You're willing to admit that fiscal federalism would further expose the ineptitude of the north? You're willing to admit that they make poor use of their natural resources? You're willing to admit that their state governors and traditional rulers are largely a waste of space? |

bantudra: soo..na oil dey worry you??.....what do you understand under oil??...do you know that you need 25dollars to extract and refine oil??..
stop accusing others....think...if the north is realy profiting that much from oil, then why does the north still have very poor states??..
it doesnt add up..stop listening to people that only want to be lazy and talk all day like kanu... Any time the issue of family planning is raised, they kick against it. Any time fiscal federalism or restructuring is raised, they kick against it. Northern states send people to flight school and then bring them back to teach primary school children. They squander the money and overbreed, that is the reason for their poverty. They have natural resources, why are they refusing to engage in meaningful industrial commerce or production? Why do you hear nothing about large scale solar farms being built to make use of the ample land and sun light in the north? The previous administration built schools for the children that they refuse to take care of, since then the northern governors have cried about how they're too expensive to run. Meanwhile they spent the same amount on pilgrimage to Mecca. Speaking of wasted money, what happened to the $2.6 billion that supposed to be spent on the north east? And why were people found to be stealing food meant for IDPs? |
