MrOjay1: i have always thought it was the yorubas(the ones living in Lagos) that first came in contact with the Europeans.
And the Europeans also lived long in YorubaLand(Lagos) before permeating other regions.
They stayed long enough in Lagos to establish the first mission school(Badagry and CMS)...so why weren't their surnames influenced? There are Yorubas who carry European names. |

Notatribalist: You go there all the time, have you stay there or engage in any business there?don't speak on issues you have no details about. Haven live in Ghana for many years I can tell you without missing words that the reason Ghanians want Nigerians out is because they feel Nigeria retailers have crash the price of their goods..Ghanians believe in making huge profit from one product, why Nigeria believes in little little profit some that the market can go fast, this is why they are angry with Nigerians, nothing more. I engage in business there and have stayed for prolonged periods of time. You might have some valid points but so do the Ghanaians. Nigerian yahoo boys are all too visible in Accra. They make no attempt to hide their criminality. |

See typical African stupidity - steal from your own to enrich people who hate you.
Hand your children over to people who hate you so that they can educate your children to hate themselves. A service for which you pay a premium.
Then they jail you and take the rest of your assets.
Good. |

erico2k2: what we really and truly need is power3. once that is achieved we are good to go.FG can foxtrot oscar Even with power, you need a government agency to coordinate. The private sector is too fragmented and self interested to do such effectively. Nigerians need to understand that government is there to reflect the will and needs of the people. They cannot continue to cry about government whilst sitting on the sidelines watching criminals destroy what could be a great nation. Nor should Nigerians be easy on those who allow themselves to be compromised by the political class. |
Business › Re: BUA Signs Deal With Turkish Firm To Build 2400TPD Flour Mills by mmsen: 7:33am On Aug 22, 2020 |
Spaxon: I believe the Private Sector actually holds the key to the industrialization of Nigeria. Look at Dangote, BUA, LaFarge and the rest of them.
If the Federal Government could Privatize Agriculture and Petroleum or even Aviation
Great changes would be seen in years to come.
But lie lie... They'll rather keep seeing possibilities in looting and re-looting.
I remember Jonathan brought the Land Swapping Deal in Abuja.
And got most of the Private companies build those estates n parks, I went through the money the companies spent on building most of those residential Estates. You'd be amazed . Most budgeted #2billion. That's the amount a Nigerian Politician can comfortably loot.
The future lies in the Private Sector.
For those Space Bookers below me. I can see Buhari's personal griller I hear Nigerians say that the private sector will fix all ills, as if that has happened anywhere else. A strong public sector is vital to rein in the excesses of the capitalist class and direct towards those areas that are needed and not just to make a quick profit. Private sector will not fund the public infrastructure that we all need and use. Nigeria needs better roads, more rail, public schools and libraries. It's fine producing but how do you get your goods to consumers if your roads are a joke? |

jayautos: This is a very good development, we should see more of such projects all over the country, building of industries that will create more jobs. Most of us in Nigeria don't vote and that explains why only about 35% of registered voter participate in actual voting ( this includes rigged figures). In a country of over 200million people with half of her population above 18, only 15m made the current president and another 12m voted opposition. Total 27 out of a 100m million possible votes that could have changed the game. But this is not my focus now. My concern now is fact that most of us are tertiary voters. The primary voters are those who determine those that make it to the political party primaries. The secondary voters are those who vote at party congresses and primaries. The tertiary voters are those who have a PVC and take the time against all odds to vote. As we approach 2023, we will be making same mistake if we wait until late in 2022 to start bragging about having a PVC. The focus of every well meaning Nigerian now should be how to step up in political participation. Move from voting between the devil and the deep blue sea on election mornings to actually determining who become the party candidate. If not, join me to push for independent candidacy to be allowed in the electoral act amendment. Until till then, prepare for more lamentation in future. The leaders are really not the problem but the docility of we the followers. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Many of those that do vote sell their votes to the useless old men who continue to destroy this country. |
