I've watched this guy play since he was at Sunderland. He's decent but he isn't one of the main reasons for the league title success - Van Dijk and Alisson are for more instrumental. And in midfield Wijnaldum and Fabinho have both been consistently better.

This is an individual award.

He wasn't exceptional this season. He mad maybe two months where he played very well. Outside of that he was very, very ordinary. Fabinho plays the role better.

Individual brilliance can be celebrated but in the case of Iiverpool's success, it has been totally a team performance with everyone doing his bit; That being said, Liverpool's engine has been the midfield with it's swift ability to balance attack and defence and sustain the momentum they are notorious for. It is time the bulk of the praise be given to Wijnaldum, Henderson and Fabinho. Henderson is totally deserving of this award.

He isn't even the best or most important midfielder. Fabinho and Wijnaldum are both superior.

Lagos also has a literacy advantage and maybe a cultural advantage, being more open to new ideas (and more tolerant) than many parts of Nigeria, especially the north.
