Good evening guys,

I do not mean to discourage anyone here, but If your eligibility review has been ongoing for weeks and you are yet to receive any update from IRCC, chances are that you have been denied. So far IRCC has not been able to communicate a refusal to all those with pending biometrics ( as at the time of eligibility review).

I applied for study permit on the 17th of June. My eligibility review started on the 17th of July exactly on month later and has been like that up till this moment. However, I applied for my GCMS notes earlier this month and when the notes came in, I discovered that a decision (eligibility review FAILED) was MADE on my application on the 18th of July (a day after eligibility review started.)

BOTTOMLINE: IRCC have only been able to communicate those that scaled through the first stage of review (AIP). Unfortunatlely, those that failed are yet to be communicated.
So they don deny me... ewoooo
Although I've done my biometrics since last year cause I reapplied.. I don enter coma

It seems that for MAY applicants there have not been any updates about their applications. I submitted my younger bro application on May 30, but no sort of updates from cic till now. Does it mean that the visa officers handling May applications are on vacation? Can May applicants update us here about the status of their applications?
I'm gonna die soon

How did it work pls... did you just walk in into their office when it got to the time on appointmentletter? Or did you have to queue?
From my experience, did mine before covid. when you'll go there you'll say ahhh.. so there's money in Nigeria.
Theyll check your passport before you go in.
Then yall would be given a form to fill.. your name, email, passport number, signature and all..
Y'all would sit for a while then y'all would line in accordance to your appointment time and you'll be given your number... Its very and exhausting... when you finally hear your number.. you then go inside and take your biometrics then they'll give you a paper and tell you to keep it well...
That's my own experience oo

Funny enough, Nigerians won't have to get lawyers to fight the battle. Those from within Canada or the US or the UK will fight the battle should it come to that.

In any case, we must disagree to agree and the truth of this matter is that IRCC has truly shown good sportsmanship by permitting students to start their programs online from their home countries. The AIPs douses the anxiety and uncertainty that come with schooling remotely, especially in this pandemic period. I do not see a situation where those with AIPs will regret enrolling for classes whatsoever. Rather, I see a situation where things will be pretty straightforward. There is just too much at stake in this matter.

Let us allow those with AIPs to celebrate their success and start their programs in peace. Those with AIPs are one step ahead of those with nothing. Those with nothing should have something to hope or aspire towards. We shouldn't take that away from people now. Their study permits is near final approval and indeed, they will get approved! The odds will be in their favour!
Period.

Hi Gurus in the house,
Please I'm getting worried, I submitted my visa application on May 26 against fall semester although no biometric capturing yet but my concern now is that the application is more than 8 weeks now has both eligibility review and background check is still under review. I'm so worried

embarassed embarassed embarassed
I submitted May 6 with all documents including biometrics because it's a reapplication but I haven't gotten any update... just have a little patience... You know good things never come easy for some people, back up your documents with prayer and hope for the best.
Cheers.

Visa officers are not custodians of knowledge, you don't allow them to assume on your behalf. You've a better opportunity of convincing the visa officer that your intentions are bonafide by stating the worth of the property you're leaving back home and what you intend to do with it (i.e establishing a medical health centre) in the long-term.

Do not allow what people say and doom yourself into secret misery. Do well to include it and provide explanations to back up your claims.

It will end in praise.
Thank you sir for putting my mind at ease
At least I'll sleep well this night

Hello nairalanders
Goodevening
Please i need answers
I was denied for family ties the last time but i didnt mention the plot of land in last application because my dad just purchased it a month before i reapplied
I reapplied for a study visa and in my loe I stated that my dad purchased a plot of land worth 45m with evidence of payment for I and my senior sister to establish a medical health center in our country of residence after our studies
But someone said i should have just added the document without stating the purpose in the loe
And I'm scared

Hello Nairalanders

Please I want to ask
I was denied because of purpose of visit and family ties
I was going to a year college program wirh an intent of switching to a univeristy
My dad paid my full tution fee and I had someone in Canada to pay for a year full apartment for me and I also submitted the receipt

I felt thats one of the thing that made the VO raise an eyebrow cause he/she thought I wanted to use the college program as a means of immigration
My question is I'm applying soon and I'm not including the apartment receipt again
Will the VO go back to my old application to check my Documents?

Hey Nairalanders

I was denied early this year based on family ties in home country and Canada
So my dad got a plot of land recently personally for me but it's in his name.
My question is that should I explain in my LOE that I'll return to my home country to establish a medical health center after my studies or I should say that I would be taking over my dad's business

I need y'all help
