Jarus:
I can't. But I know the CBN boss reports to Finance Minister. Real? Yes. Ideal. Maybe not.
And you know a former minister(FFK) cannot make that mistake(of not knowing that CBN boss reports to FM).
I am also very much aware of that.
hercules07:
@Jarus

Can you quote the relevant section of the constitution, why should fiscal and monetary policies be under just one minister?
seriously i am surprised that one person has oversight functions on both fiscal and monetary policies. SLS made a mistake by bringing FFK's name in the love message to El-Rufai. FFK is a man desperately seeking for attention so he would always capitalise on that and deliberately go overboard.

if you are surprised that FFK is fighting for the masses now, then you need lots of lessons in politics. The opposition would always stand with the masses. if ACN takes over power tomorrow, ACN will make harsh decisions and PDP will fight for the masses and we will now align with PDP.

Pukkah:
This is obscene and this is what we have been trying to say while morons continue to tribalize the issue. This woman should come out and defend this and the mansion in Austria.

What good is there in this woman? She is incompetent and she is also alleged to be stealing? Huh

Who will save Nigeria from Nigerians?
defend what? defend that her children are living an extravagant life shocked grin You are very funny.

The issue of the house in Austria (which she has already responded to) would have been better. I am not defending her and I personally think she will be involved in a lot of corrupt practices but that is my opinion. I can't ask her why her son is dining with celebrities and eating to obesity. Nigerians naturally hate rich people so once you prosecute a rich person, people will always celebrate.
PoliticsRe: Soldiers Shoot To Disperse 'occupy' Protesters In Lagos by monex(m): 6:41pm On Jan 16, 2012
~Bluetooth:
Yes he has declared the war and we must fight him.I wonder why cameron or obama are yet to unleash soldiers on protesters in their country but in less than one week, jonathan wants to eradicate millions of yorubas !

"Hypocrite. . . .Are you people ever tired of tribalizing every issue ? Why are soldiers not shooting at protesters in kaduna and other northern states ? What I know is that we wont be caged like ibos by a minority tribe just because they produced a buffon as president."
later u accuse others of appealing to tribal sentiments. i saw your post above where u talked abt being caged by a minority tribe. this post is tribalistic and insults those who protested against the subsidy removal in Benin, PH, Bayelsa etc.

also, how does Jonathan want to eradicate millions of yorubas? SMH. problem i have is that peeps are into this protests for diff reasons/sentiments and few of these sentiments are noble.
PoliticsRe: Pengassan Would Not Be Joining The Strike As Promised - NLC President by monex(m): 9:44pm On Jan 15, 2012
klas:
Nlc president had stated as early as last Monday that pengassan will not shut down oil installations except as a last resort because it takes long time to recommission such after shut down.

As for militants occupying oil platforms. That na joke. Even in their heydays, they did not occupy oil platforms. Sabotaging oil pipelines in the bush or doing hit and run on platform (guerilla war fashion) is not the same as occupying it. They will be summarily dislodged from there by the military. Stop dressing them in a borrowed robe.

PostScript: I thought they said militants have been disarmed? Or what then is the objective of the on-going multi billion Naira amnesty program? Another subsidy cabal?
abi o. Pengasson has been and is still on strike. I knew they would not come through with the shutdown. shutdown operations (esp deep offshore) nor be beans and pengasson legally has no right to shutdown production facilities. the IOCs will not allow that. i already laughed my full at the notion of militants occupying oil platforms.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Militants Surround Oil Platforms In Delta& Rivers States by monex(m): 6:07pm On Jan 15, 2012
wow!!! six pages to a hoax!!!

Nairaland peeps don turn so pro-GEJ or anti-GEJ that they will believe any story they see that supports their dispositions without thinking if it cld be true.

Bravo Guys.

if we were talking abt some land flowstations/rigs e for even beta. Militants surround an Oil Platformhuh
PoliticsRe: Jonathan’s Govt Confused – Okogie by monex(m): 1:49pm On Dec 29, 2011
I respect Okogie's comments and I think he is right. if you look at GEJ's govt with an unbiased mind, you will see that GEJ is confused. He is also DEFINITELY not acting his own scripts. The fuel subsidy debates gave a hint where the idea came from. His ability to talk intelligently is questionable; every time the guy utters something, it gives you a lack of confidence in his government.

Regarding Boko haram, i might not want to castigate GEJ cos the prob is more complex than we think and trust me, if I ask all nairalanders to proffer a solution, each person will critique the other's  proferred soltuion and call it stupid. most people who talk he recannot answer in non-vague terms what they would do if they were GEJ. I don't think any sane person would relate BH's activities to the fight for equity and justice.  (aplologies Bisi AKANDE if what I heard you said was true).

Invest in a CCIE rather than the Msc.
Then send your CVs to all the various companies that do IP networking. Telnet, Resourcery, Gateway, and the likes. I am sure you'll find something, because you have a good degree already.
Msc in Engineering won't really help you at this time.
Ajanlekoko. which area of CCNP will u have advised for Mr. Samuel cos i have a brother in his shoes (only CCNA +ITIL + 2.1 engineering and no job).

PoliticsRe: Do Non - Southerners Support Gej? by monex(m): 4:02pm On Mar 28, 2011
reasons why this thread has not seen responses:

Nairaland has more southerners than northerners
There are a good number of nairalanders in disapora
Southerners are less tribalistic than Notherners
A good number of Educated Southerners dont believe in the GEJ Mandate (in th last 3 mths GEJ has convinced us that he is not intelligent)
The swansong in Nigeria is "No corruption" (though most peeps are corrupt and thrive under it) and Buhari has succesfully used that as his brand.
PoliticsRe: A Revolution In The Making Buhari Bakare (Tears Of Joy) by monex(m): 2:08pm On Mar 28, 2011
Truth is GEJ will win this election even if it is free and fair. AC combining with CPC would have been GEJ's only obstacle. PDP has strong political structures which count a lot in a non-idealistic state like Nigeria. If u must know people vote for parties not candidates. The political structure of a party is the most important factor in Nigerian elections.

BB became very popular recently, no thanks to the incessant faux- pas by GEJ (i am almost believing that the guy is really clueless) but that popularity does not transcend the online/nairaland/disapora population, or at best, the young educated population. The aforementioned bloc accounts for less than 10% of the voting population. In my village and most surrounding villages, all the people know is just Umblerra despite the fact that Adams Oshiomole is the governor.

BB needs to intensify campaign in the west at the grassroot level like they are doing in the north. The north doesnt need more campaign as they usually vote to religious and tribal affiliations (BB's best weapon there). No need pushing too much in the north as it creates the impression that the south i irrelevant especially from a man who said "Muslims should only vote for muslims" in 2003. Buhari needs to remove any sectional tendencies lingering in people's minds about him. As at today, GEJ (better PDP as GEJ is really nothing woithout the party) will still win the elections.

Ribadu, however doesnt hurt BB as much as peeps would like to think cos though he takes some of buhari's vote in the north, he takes even more of GEJ's votes in the south, especially south-west (Political structure of AC and Tinubu). Buhari is really a loner as his name and personality is all he has.

Buhari strong points are that even his critics know his zero tolerance for corruption and that the north would likely vote on religious grounds.
Bakare's controversial nature does him little good as even south-west pentecostals are not really in support of him.

lets not just crucify kambo na. Some of his points are true. I believe most of these motivational speakers sell their books like it is a magic wand to riches and thats what i dont like.

Gullible people take these things hook, line and sinker. I particularly like the fact that kambo emphasized knowledge capital. I had a friend who read read brian tracy's book and said "with books like this one doesnt need an MBA".

EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by monex(m): 6:53pm On Jan 10, 2011
monex:
Hi Everyone. It's nice to read these comments.

I need some advice.

I am currently considering doing a masters (computer science) in the US by distance learning/online as i am not keen on quitting my current job in an oil major in nigeria for a masters. i checked schools in the UK but found that they hardly do the distance learning except liverpool/hertfordshire etc.

i have a b.sc (2.1) computer science from the university of benin (2006) and have worked 2+ yrs in an invest. bank and some months in an oil/gas firm. i also have some IT/project mgmt. certifications (JAVA/Oracle/PMP/ITIL)

i just started preparing for the GRE and i am not particularly interested in funding/financial aid. i am considering the schools below that offer m.sc computer sc. (online option). i:

John Hopkins, Columbia, illinois at urbana-champaign, Colorado at Boulder
Colorado State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology
University of Hawaii,

do u think an online masters would be helpful in my career?
what are my chances in these schools as i have little or no research experience?
some of these schools ask for a 3.3/4.0 GPA. How does my 4.01/5 GPA translate to an "over 4.0" GPA?

thanks for your expected responses.
my message keeps dissaperaring. Mods what is happening

seriously i think adetoru is rite. men have less willpower and discipline when it comes to sex. Most guys wake up with a hard on. I used to feel guilty when i wake up. except the girl is very sexually active, i dont think (in my naive mind) that girls have much issues controlling themselves when it comes to sex
