Bought my own car, and I didn’t owe him a kobo, when I was dropping his car
This is the kind of statement that puts investors or would be partners on alert, on average corporate drivers are not able to save enough to buy a tokunbo car within 3 years, yet in less than 3 years uber drivers are able to achieve this feat... #partnersonalert

If u get a trip from the airport (taxify/bolt) at the end of the trip will your parking fee be added to your fare.
According to the logic of Bolt, you have to ensure the rider comes into the parking lot, before your parking fees will be added, rider meets you inside the parking lot, then you start your trip while still at the airport parking lot. If you pick rider outside the parking lot, OYO.
This is why more drivers are beginning to appreciate the professionalism of Uber!

Sigh... what of the little guys just trying to eke out a living!

This is a wake up call for D and G to form a merger, so that they can also collectively come up with lower oil pricing.

Just imagine how much you guys will save on shared logistics, synergy... think synergy.

Some will say such a combination can never happen, i remain an unrepentant optimist.

Xneg just gave you a brotherly advice.
It is highly risky to approach a micro finance for a loan for uber business.
Most micro finance will not give such loans, and those that give you are more interested in auctioning your properties inclusive of the car, when you default in your repayment obligations.
The situation of the market now is filled with so much uncertainty, think twice before you make that leap!
Look for a car rental option and save up towards your goal.

I prefer working with newbies, than this retired rich guys that feels so entitled.

Jesusboy was saying he earn 20k weekly and feels comfortable with it, all of you here claim is not worth it.

But you expect owner who might have worked his ass off, get a loan from bank, probably sell his land or house, to invest in Uber to collect 20k/25k..

If you guys bring danfo style here, trust me, owners will quit and divert their investment. It will remain you and your village people to invest.
We are here to share and learn divest their investment to what?
Real Estate, Treasury Bills risk free or Forex trading high risk investment or what.
For those who are computationally inclined and investment savvy, at what point must weekly remittance fall before investment in Treasury bills would be considered a better deal.

This is very wrong, uber already has a precedure in place if a rider refuses to pay you, how can you expose your rider online to the whole world just because of 3200 naira, unfortunately you're anonymous else he also has the right to report you to uber and you will be banned for life.
Did Google tell you he is anonymous?
If uber should take this matter up, he has zero defense.
He might just be banned for life. We should therefore all please be careful how we report incidences.
We should respect the confidentiality of our clients, and if there are any infraction on the part of riders simply report to uber!

Customer confidentiality ko, custom fidelity bank ni... Is dia a place uber said he should not pay is money or is he not supposed to know the driver deserve his wages. Let's call a spade a spade, people can just be wicked and mean, inhuman to others, I'm not perfect, but let's reason like someone that have blood and water in us. I sent taxify message this morning they should try and protect the driver and not the stupid price fixing and the purpose for it is already defeated, I have a woman that is still yet to give me my 1600 since last night after spending like 35 mins in traffic. I have her picture on my phone and may probably spread it online if she push me. Give me ur acct is now a norm, can they tell danfo conductor such?

They have turned Uber drivers to "A lender of Last Resort" aka CBN. When riders on cash trips have liquidity crisis, they expect Uber drivers to give them some hours/days to sort out there financial difficulties, before they can transfer the amount due, i think it would be fair for uber drivers to start charging interest rate for any late transfer from riders, any banker in the house should advise accordingly.

Your thought o.
My thought is if a high rate of drivers boycott their app and they experience a great decline in revenue, they will or may (self) come back to their senses
This is how they have decided to punish drivers for failing to pay the Bolt Shield.

I'll advice you as a brother. This deal won't work. Infact, you'll end up making that car a lemon. A very bitter one

Because

1) No driver will want to take a Camry on higher purchase. Rental? Yes. But HP? Hmmmmm
The driver will end up not maintaining that car and you'll end up with a lemon

2) That car is an 03. Before he will finish paying you, maybe uber will increase their year model to 04 or 05.

My advice: Give it on rental. HP will not pay you
HP or Rental ... all na scam!

Some people are just mean and inconsiderate, picked this woman, her kid and neighbors kid from mafoluku to Yaba.
She didn't want us to pass the normal route she kept directing through the worse of roads. Sometimes we will meet traffic she will tell me to reverse and change route, dropped the kids at jibowu and her final destination Abeokuta street Yaba.
Immediately we enter the street the woman said I should end trip, I did. She now told me she's going down the street that I should let her follow me to the office which I did.
We got there she got down and said I should send my account details to her since I have her number, I let her go because cars were behind me and nowhere to park there.
Besides I didn't bother since it's an Uber trip, I sent my account details later. This woman sent a message telling me she sent message to Uber that the price is much that she will soon forward the reply to me, I regretted letting this woman go.
She just used sense for me, only for me to check that trip and saw 000 naira I quickly mailed Uber they started saying their normal when a rider question a trip they always review it.
They said I took the wrong route or that the woman said it was a GPS issue, I sent my own mail regarding the said trip they said they have added miscellaneous whatever to my next week payout.
Up till now I can't see the reflection of any refund and the trip didn't even count as regards the 15 trip stuff, I called this woman several times she didn't pick.
I later called her with several different number she picked and when she learnt it's me said sorry that she told Uber she's paying #1200.

This is a journey that took over an hour, I told her plainly that she simply doesn't want to pay. That if she multiply #10/m she have roughly #700, does it mean she want to pay #500 from Ikeja to Yaba with stop at jibowu. Even if Uber want to do something they will only give her bonus as balance and won't tell her not to pay the fare displayed on the app, I was already at her mercy and simply told her to pay whatever she want to pay. She transferred #1700, that's why some drivers rather do saka.
I even blame Uber for reviewing a trip they knew nothing about without asking the driver first and believing a one side story.
I told them my mind sha, that drivers are not slaves. They should learn to hear from drivers first before reviewing any trip.
I think you need to inform uber about the N1,700 tip. Since i am sure after uber reviews your trip, your account would be credited.

But at the same time it does not give them the opportunity to enslave the masses .. The government should step in case of any abuse... but we are in a capitalist society, so we might have a gray area .. It is up to the government to determine what is consider cooperate abuse...
The best the government can do is to ensure an enabling environment whereby competitors can come in unhindered. It is then up to the market forces to determine the equilibrium point aka fair price for all parties involved.

Don't mind them. They now have fixed rate even if you spend 10hrs inside traffic, it won't reflect on the payment. But I think the fixed price is for those that have updated their app. My old rider app was showing estimate but when I updated it this afternoon its started showing fixed price. I think its time to go back to uber till they do something about it.
You can go back to uber, but will the Multitude follow you? Remember there are so many desperate HP drivers. Why should Bolt do anything about it as long as riders are happy. It is supposed to be ride sharing so why are you bothered about time spent in traffic. You have closed from work for the day, you are heading home, time spent in traffic should be the least of your concern.. as long as your rider is paying value for the distance covered. You my friend by bolt standard are expendable, please don't blame bolt, indriver is offering a better value proposition to riders. A wise man once told me "He who pays the piper dictates the tune". The interim solution is for all drivers not to register for indriver app but with so much poverty in the land... how do you convince the Multitude of drivers not to accept the 6 months free loaves of bread and fishes offered by indriver ehailing app company.

The challenge is that your breaking even is totally out of your control and at the mercy of the ride sharing companies.

And from the looks of things, it's not going to get any better
If Indriver based on their model which is quite different from uber/bolt should start operation in Nigeria, i believe things will get better for drivers. Drivers will now decide whether they want to go to certain destination, take less trips but make more money. Experienced drivers would see a reduction in the cost of their car maintenance as they would not accept certain trips going to areas with bad roads.

I expect that Uber and Bolt would now be forced to give drivers and riders more incentives.as they scramble to get drivers off indriver app platform. i think happy days are here for drivers, hope my forecast plays out well.

People are funny. Before Uber invented this ride sharing application nobody thought of it. Now everybody wants to be Uber. Gidicab ko Oga taxi ni
.

I belong to one of this ehailing whatsapp group, they keep on spamming us with message to patronize one of the indigenous local ehailing companies, sadly they are all in for the money... Any driver foolish enough to believe that they really care about you is in for a long thing. They should go build their satellite, they should go build their phones, why not even build the cars or parts that is used on the platform. How can you be claiming indigenous when all the tools used is at least 99% foreign. Honestly i get tired of the phrase patronise us we are local we have your best interest.

Glad Uber has quietly shut them up with the 3% commission, if they are truly local and care about our interest let them indigenously hit us with a 1% commission rate, then we will know that they are really here for the drivers' interest.

They even can not see the handwriting on the wall, that it is in their own collective interest to all merge together and form one strong indigenous ehailing app company that can at least give Uber/Bolt a chase for their money. Greed and Pride will not let them tow this path, until it is too late.

Indigenous ehailing companies see easy money and they are all forming saviour of the Nigerian Apps drivers.

It will be too bad if there is no surge on days like these.

I'm very sure Uber Nigeria will die soon
Most riders are price sensitive, they compare between uber , bolt and the multitude of other ehailing apps to see the lowest rate.
This is why it is in drivers best interest to support only 2 or 3 ehailing apps, proliferation of ehailing companies can never be to the advantage of drivers.
Most drivers who refused to pay for Bolt shield is because they have uber, remove uber out of the equation, then they would be at the mercy of Bolt and some poorly setup alternative ehailing apps companies.
I hope for the sake of those who are yet to perfect Plan B that uber Nigeria does not pull out.
