Just did bolt training they are saying driver shield is compulsory for all drivers now. As a new driver we are given a 2 weeks grace
If you have uber then do not pay, because the bolt shield is just another form of exploitation.
I never knew that blot recruited agberos to run their operations in Nigeria.
I think the guys running bolt in Nigeria are now in a serious dilemma, they must have made certain financial commitments which they had hoped to offset through this scam called bolt shield.
I am not paying because i have a better alternative in uber and once i am blocked i will just go and register with another ehailing app company.

bro you get mind oo, 7200?, I hope your car AC now freezes like a deep freezer grin
Remember a certain Mr. President of a populous black nation was almost killed via his Air Conditioning system, thank God for good medical care abroad, he is still battling the aftermath effect of the inhaled air from the vent system.
My point is this, some of the refrigerants being sold do not meet the expected quality standard, quite frankly those in charge of such things in Nigeria do not care.
Cancer and a lot of terminal diseases are on the increase in Nigeria, it is the food, it is the body cream ladies use, it is this,it is that nobody is sure, because we have a poor database and lack research facility.
It may even be nylon tint coupled with the excessive heat from the sun, that might be releasing certain toxin within a closed and sealed space. We the drivers spend hours everyday under the excessive heat of the sun in such sealed environment, was the cheap nylon tint designed to withstand such excessive heat from the Sun on a daily basis? over to the appropriate standard organisation in the country.
We may be slowly killing ourselves if we underestimate that the quality of what we breathe in on a daily basis matters, remember for every rider you pick, you need to put on your a/c.... Some of these low quality refrigerants may be slow poison to our system... the medical issues may come up 10 or 15 years later, when you should be enjoying the fruit of your labour, then you would be telling your doctor, such problem has never existed in your family.
Prevention as they say is better than cure.
Let us not be penny wise and health wise foolish!

Guys, brace up for more expensive uber rides, uber is going iPo and this means fares are likely to increase very soon.
This is good news for drivers as will surely favour the drivers and car owners. The riders will adjust to it. It is very common that we Nigerians like cheap thing.
But the sustainability of uber in Nigeria is tied to the harmony between the drivers and riders.
The Management must understand this!
I intend injecting a car into this business hence my research. Any good driver should send me a PM. I will reply with my nos.
Even with low fares, Ehailing apps companies are springing faster than a rabbit can breed.
Expect low price regime to stay, the bet is even on further price crash like riders not been charged little or nothing for time spent in traffic.
What is currently happening in the food industry is what we would witness in the ehailing biz going forward.
Even Domino had to get off their high horse by introducing N550 pizza.

Please House, as tomorrow is the deadline for payment for Bolt Shield.
Why is bolt shield not optional, why are are drivers and partners not challenging this act of exploitation.
If you want to insure your phones and personal belongings there are insurance companies that provide such coverage so why must Bolt shield be mandatory.
What is bolt biz if i decide not to insure my phone and if the shield also covers your health, there are hmo that are setup for such.
Since we drivers and partners are not bolt employees why the insistence of having a bolt shield, in which Bolt are the direct beneficiary.
Why is there a shield for bolt but none for uber?

sadly I noticed more Ehailing vehicles have turned to local cabs in the lekki area. Seems they make more by picking up people by the roadside.
Nah those are the usual suspects... banned for life on uber/taxify via judgment without trial.

For all those posting 7 days earnings and working months non stop 7 days in a week.
i was recently at the barber shop and my barber said oga you did not call that you are coming today, i said why, he said tomorrow was his day off.
I was like, so a barber can afford to take 1 day off from his job, while some uber drivers feel they must work throughout the whole week.
Please if a barber can take 1 day off from work, we who have been entrusted with the lives of our riders should realise that irrespective of the targets we want to meet, we should not because of our own selfish reasons endanger the lives of our riders.
We should stop celebrating posting of 7 days earning, it is in the long run detrimental to the health of the drivers and increases safety concern while driving.
In an ideal world a uber/bolt driver should have at least 2 days off, this is to ensure adequate rest, to be at his best in order to exercise optimal judgment while driving.
Sorry if fleet managers don't like this post..

And that's how the angels in charge of their blessings will bolt away from them. Bastarrrdd angry

Isn't there a way one can avoid this rubbish at night?

I'm thinking a driver should start ending his trip before he gets to their destination. For example, if a rider is going to Police College, I may start ending my trip before there.... maybe Opebi link junction. So if the ediots don't pay, na police station I go drive am go straight angry

There should be a way we can think around this issue
For night trips, shine your eyes properly, assess the riders, if you don't feel comfortable cancel.
Stopping the trip early does not guarantee anything, it is dangerous to box undesirable elements, better give them room to escape and then report to Bolt or uber.

Zero percent or no zero percent, uber is not worth it, until the day drivers will learn to avoid Uber, then sanity will be back to the business. It is easy to get trips on uber, because you drivers made it so and I heard someone saying "Uber is winning the competition", uber is winning slaving drivers, but I guess everyone have one or two issues to sought out, so the trap is unavoidable.
Which other ehailing company is giving such fantastic promo?
Look uber promos are easily achievable and they have shown concern about drivers safety and health by having a 12 hours drive limit, what is the rest of the competition doing nothing.
Report a fare complain or any issue on your trip to uber and within an 1 hour it is resolved.
Uber is trying, i only wish uber can ensure you are able to set destination anytime you want to, because there are times a driver may want to head back home due to health or domestic issues.
Safety of drivers and riders should always be paramount.

Bro, read the 3rd paragraph of that Uber message very well. Maybe it applies to you too. It clearly states that fraudulent drivers will not be eligible for that so if you have been flagged before by Uber you won't enjoy the incentive. Uber has in the past one month flagged more than 1,000 drivers for fraudulent activities.
I have been having problem with my iphone touch screen since last week, i cannot call client to clarify their locations and it is important to clarify especially in places you are not familiar with, the GPS can sometimes be unreliable or take you through a longer route to the riders' pickup point. So i will wait until the client calls, some clients will just refuse to call and send sms messages through the uber platform, but also because of the touch screen issue i could not respond to their sms. Last week i got a notice that my account had been flagged for fraudulent activities, it is a shame that a driver with over 400+ 5 star trips, could be treated in such manner, i would have expected uber to have first gotten in touch with me as to what could be the problem.
I have since replaced my iphone touch screen and all system are good to go, sadly uber has judged me as guilty without recourse to a fair hearing.
I am omitted from the promo and lumped up with the Sakamanje crew and chop Cancellation fee crew.
What really is the value of all this 5 stars rating we get from riders, since Uber does not use it in taking decisions.
I believe a staff of uber would read this and bring up this issue at their meeting.
i hope Lyft would soon start business in Lagos... this will guarantee that drivers are treated with respect by both bolt and uber.

Safety wise No.
But if money is only your consideration I want to believe that it has a higher return on investment. Your pay back period is definitely shorter than investing in uber or bolt.

Every other organizations is increasing money, Uber/Taxify is reducing drivers fare to please riders. tongue tongue tongue tongue
Taxify/uber are not here to please drivers. There primary focus are the riders! is it not ironic that even in this era of low fares, pilots are complaining of low request. New apps coy are coming onboard because they still believe this is a high margin biz. Taxify/uber must turn the biz model to low margin with high frequency of riders request.
The low margin will keep potential new entrants from wanting to join the biz. Just pray that prices do not crash further. It is a dog eat dog world.

NEVER EVER LISTEN TO THE RADIO
Please let me clarify do not listen to traffic report on the radio while carrying your passenger!
Play instead some soft calypso or just tune in to sound city fm.
Some days ago i had agreed to be back at home by 6:00pm., so when i got a request taking me to Adeola odeku, i was cool with that but as soon as i dropped off my rider, around 3:00p.m i just set destination to Ikeja.. and then the praying and confessing start you know this business is not as it used to be...
Then i got a trip request going towards my destination, i picked her up and i realized she was going within 1km radius of my crib.. This is just fantastic so i thought.
I left the radio on and there was a traffic report on 98.10 Nigeria info, traffic was actually pretty bad on the island, it was bumper to bumper, by the time we got to Awolowo road our wonderful OAP, Hauwa AND Mazino on the Smooth Drive show where doing their thing.. Mazino just kept on yapping, "i have never seen such bloodied sign, this traffic was even worse than yesterday, bla, bla, bla, everywhere is on locked down even on the mainland", they had convinced my rider to change her final destination, she now said the traffic report is just too bad even on the mainland and she would like to stop at Surulere... had to put a plastic smile on my face for some seconds, and told her no problem.
I had to drop her off at surulere and after waiting like 30 minutes with no request towards my destination, had to drive into the traffic , got home pretty late.
Never listen to traffic report when carrying a rider, it gets the rider agitated and they may likely change their mind about their final destination, and sometimes the traffic report may not even be a reflection of the true situation on ground, when in traffic just play some soothing R & B songs...

See rainbow of advice above. Car talk we hail thee. 3 roads which one to take cheesy
BEST ROUTE CHOICE FOR UBER DRIVERS!

ROAD 1: If you see the "Dollar Sign Board" proceed with caution, they give warranties and pamper your car but how much does a Uber driver earn!

ROAD 2: If you see the "No Credit Today Sign Board" proceed with caution, this auto-workshops are most unreasonable , don't we uber/taxify drivers provide 7 days credit facility to uber and taxify. (see some of the inequities of life how can we with our little savings, be giving credit facilities to multi-billion dollar companies)

ROAD 3: If you see the "Kobo Sign Board", rejoice and proceed with caution, quick car fix without emptying your pocket, on this Broad road you will find the generation of Kazeemites led by the spirit, offering 6th sense solutions without the aid of diagnostic tools.

Most partners don't care about qualitative maintenance all they want to feel is the vibration of their phone and their 35k weekly credit alert fully on display.

Remember you are just a uber/taxify driver in Nigeria so please choose which road to follow wisely!
