crownprince2017: What is likely to be the investors reaction to this news on Tuesday? BUA does not move with fundamentals. The man decides when and how its share price moves. He and his family own over 95% of the OS. This news aint affecting share price. On a good day however, a reduction in price of products should have a negative impact on revenue and profitablity or atleast affect future gains that would have accrued from their new plant. But then BUA is BUA. The fundamentals dey Rabiu hand. However, it can affect other cement manufacturers. They have to reduce teir prices or... And a company like lafarge no too sabi share price manipulations. |

Mfunkynation: I use Access Bank. I have been using it to receive my dividend without any hassles! What procedure is that? You might be one of us that moved woth Diamond bank, if so then You might get it, but if you dont get it on time, then you need to go to your bank and get your alternate account number for NEFT transactions. Then you use it to fill a new e-dividend mandate form. I have been filling new mandate forms all over again for some brokers because of the alternate account issue. Those old diamond bank accounts have this unique issue. Some brokers will pay with the old account number |

In as much as he made several "motivational" posts about oando, there were many other warning posts in this platform. The investor chose to follow the "motivational" one, so in reality it was the investor's decision. In all, school fees must be paid. If another oando rally starts today, the same set of people will still fall for it. |

*Summary* Total Comprehensive Income for UBA as at June 2023 stood at *821.03B* (Page 28 ) while Access Bank was *N556.78B* (Page 4)
UBA total OCI comprises Profit After Tax of 378B + and Other Comprehensive Income of 442.8 making the bulk sum of *N821.03B* while Access has Profit After Tax of 135.4B plus OCI item of 421.3B making total Comprehensive Income of *N556.78B*
Also Access Bank too reported FX gain in the Income Statement but very minimal . Access Bank reported FX Gain of *192.04B* (page 45) while UBA reported *418.2B*(page 28)
Access Bank Net FX position was minimal due to their huge exposure to Euro Bonds Issuance while UBA was very positive with the highest FX net position the industry as at 31-12-2022
FX gain was reported in Access Bank profit statement as 192B and was considered in arriving at their Profit Before Tax .
In my view , Access Bank result was knocked down due to the high Interest Expense .
Last year Interest Expense for June 2022 was *174.8B* for Access Bank while same Expense head for June 2023 jumped to *383B* representing about *118.8%* negative variance .
Note that the total expenses payment by Access Bank is higher than FX gain .

Ten Nigerian Banks restructure Oando PLC’s Medium-Term Loan to N115.3 Billion
In a move aimed at bolstering the financial stability of one of Nigeria’s key energy companies, ten Nigerian banks have joined forces to restructure Oando PLC‘s Medium-Term Loan.
The original agreement has been amended, with the overall commitment increasing to N115.3 billion from N108.3 billion.
This is actually a good news for Oando and the banks.
The restructuring aims to re-sculpt the repayment profile, extend the loan’s maturity date, and update associated security details.
This was contained in the company’s recently 2021 audited accounts under the notes to accounts.
The consortium of Nigerian banks participating as the “Lenders” include:
1. Access Bank PLC 2. Ecobank Nigeria Limited 3. Fidelity Bank PLC 4. First Bank of Nigeria Limited 5. Keystone Bank Limited 6. Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC 7. Union Bank of Nigeria PLC 8. Zenith Bank PLC 9. First City Monument Bank Ltd 10. United Bank for Africa PLC
I think somehow these banks will continue to enjoy some benefits from Oando's continued expansion. |

mikeapollo: Please get the guy right. All what he means by reference to the $1.5billiin and $144m is that Oando share is presently undervalued and that the price is poised to rise further, especially .when the benefits of acquiring ENI (more profits, cost savings due to economies of scale etc) start to trickle in. Even the ENI shares alone (if it were to be quoted on the NSE) would have its own value. Take note that the acquisition of ENI seems to be by 100 percent cash consideration only, as no mention of merger or exchange or issuance of shares is involved. That is bound to impart on the share value of Oando. . Anyone is free to either ignore Oando shares because of poor and painful experience of the last ten years (and sentiments against Wale and Bola Tinubu), or look at the current and future financial and economic prospects of the company and make a decision. Investment is all about risk taking based on your knowledge and assessment of your target investment. Oando did not buy the entire thing. They only bought additional 20% in a joint venture enterprise increasing their stake to 40%. |

mikeapollo: All you said still points to the fact that Oando is under valued presently.
Conoil is the closest comparable to Oando, apart from Oando selling its downstream to NNPC and having larger outstanding shares. Those are 2 of the biggest indigenous oil companies owned by Nigerians currently listed on NSE Even before Oando sold it's downstream business to NNPC it's shares were selling for N3-N5 while Conoil was going for N40-N50. If Conoil is currently selling at N90-N100, then you can expect Oando to rise especially when they start paying consistent good dividends like Conoil has been doing. My advice is: take a position in Oando with money you can stake for a year or two and reap good returns . But make sure you attend the Court -ordered AGM and help destroy and kill the buy out offer of N7. 07 Ok |

mikeapollo: Oando is still undervalued. Check the price of it's contemporaries like Conoil which is selling around N90-100 even though it is more downstream than upstream Don't be surprised to see Oando clock N50 very soon The only thing that looks confusing about Oando is the buy out offer of N7. 07 because of the Court case. The Court has cleverly given shareholders the power to either reject or accept the offer and it adjourned the case from March to October2023 i.e. . a whole 6 months for the shareholders to consider all factors and take a decision. That buy out offer is now dead on arrival. If you are patient to make good profit, go buy Oando before it rises further. I saw the opportunity more than 2 years ago and started loading it and now I have millions of units! Conoil is not Oando's contemporary. Oando is not in the downstream business any more, NNPC has bought all that from them. Conoil upstream section is not on Nse. Just the fuel distribution section tgat is on Nse. Oando is in the upstream sector with Seplat(on NSE) But OS is one thing to consider before estimating the price. |

pizapato: There is no how the naira is appreciating above the current I&E rate, which the bank used in revaluation. All the FX policy will not work without substantial cut in government spending. You will be shocked that the FX crisis will not be any different even when Dangote Refinery and other refineries start working.
I can vouch that 30-40% of the country's yearly budget is embezzled. That is the source of billions of naira that drains the countries FX through the black market.
Without substantial cut in government spending, we will be looking at $1 to ₦1100 by the end of 2024 The fx gains bei g talked about is not necessarily a special thing. Its the actually the result of the true valuation of the naira. Yet it is not even based on the actual value of the naira which is over 900/$. |

yMcy56: Are we now saying when the banks made those massive gains, Investors should not benefit from it?
While I understood the disappointment that may come with reduced dividend, should the FX gain not be there again, I think there must have been clauses in their statement to properly address this.
Abeg no mind me o. I be JJC for all these terms, na amateur view I take dey look am... .....and that's the way I see it.
Let me leave the discussion for those wey Sabi...... I think the CBN is being too selfish. If the said gains are not paid as dividends and they do not go into the operations of the banks, where then do they go: CBN who would purportedly save them for the banks? Its not fair. I think the CBN would have mandated the banks to save only a portion of these gains rather than totally restrict the use of it. |
