Xtfield:

First, let me state that I am not in any way connected to this Ikere school. I own a school located in Ekiti. I have 12 workers on my payroll, six of whom are graduates. I have 95 pupils in my school with a total termly income of 1.2million. As the owner of the school, I earn N25k per month as Headmaster of the school. Now, I have over 30 years postgraduate and NYSC teaching experience. I do agree that the N15k I pay my graduates is small but am I supposed to take a bank loan to pay my workers. Remember I still have to buy stationeries, power the school generator for computer classes, pay Government levies and taxes, pay PHCN bills etc. Now tell me if I should close shop and throw these poor teachers into the already overcrowded unemployment market. The point is that it is easy as an employee to criticize employers and label them as wicked. But you get up and set up a business and tell me what you pay. Only then will your contribution here amount to anything. You think Government can arraign anybody for not paying up to the minimum wage? Let them try it and see what the consequence will be. You fired a security company for paying less than the minimum wage. So why didn't your company or bank employ its own security personnel. At least that was the practice when I was growing up. Your bank employs people on contract and send y=them out to meet unreasonable targets which turn them into corporate prostitutes. That is not wicked because its in their terms of employment. What a great way to reason.

Boo Hoo

15 thousand naira a month to Graduate teachers.. grin

What is their pay after taxes?! Or let me guess, your teachers don't pay taxes.. grin

I also own a business.. Even the boy who works for me as a domestic help earns 20'k a month.. I pay my Security company 95 Thousand a month for 3 guards.. So they have more than enough to meet the National Minimum wage requirement for their employees.

If you are a learner in business, then close up shop. If you cant afford to meet the minimum wage requirements of the country based on the fees you charge your clients, then you increase it.

Even from a Human Resource perspective, paying your employees peanuts does not motivate them to give you their best.

Banks use outsourcing as a means of mitigating themselves from certain commitments to the employees. Its not an offence. Infact, it is the new trend. Not just banks but Oil Companies and Telecoms companies all do it. I work as a contract staff on a yearly renewable basis with a release clause attached that says I can be released from the contract with 3 months advanced pay. Its a good deal and I get more than 15,000 Naira a month plus Leave allowance (100% f my salary) and 13th month pay (100% of my pay). Every job has its demands. Because the target is high means absolutely nothing here. The problem I have with your business is not their workload but the miserly pay you give your workers.. Skilled/Qualified workers at that.

And no I don't work for a bank either... I am an Engineer.

The point is that you have violated the Laws of the federal republic of Nigeria and you are taking advantage of the poor employment situation in the country to exploit the desperation of the unemployed.

I have 3 people who work for me and the least makes 20 Thousand a month and that's my domestic help who isn't full-time either.

Go and review your business and think about the welfare of your workers Sir. No matter how you try to sugar coat this or make it look, it still does not make what you are doing any less of a crime or any more justifiable.

At 15 thousand Naira a month, divided by 31 days in a month, your Graduate teachers are living on 483 Naira per day.. How much do they feed with, how much do they pay their rent with, how much do they pay their bills with, Transportation and logistics.. And whats their savings..

And 15 Thousand is inclusive of Tax..

Please have a conscience.. Increase your tuition fees if you must, but your Graduate workers deserve a Graduates pay.

I'm not celebrating him at all.. as I know how he gets the jobs that gives him money..

His reputation (at least for this his particular company) is very bad.. But that does not affect his account balance.

And it would take more than a tiny issue to bring him down. When you are that wealthy, you play by a different set of rules. Even Cecelia Ibru is not poor, despite the mess she created for herself. I have dealt with many companies and sorted them out, but this guys matter is a hard one for me to crack. Omo!! This guy is filthy wealthy.. I know this for a fact as I happen to just review one of his companies financial record for the past 3 years..

Sadly though, his business reputation is bad and companies avoid doing business with him like a plague. His company is only still making money thanks to his tight connect with the government which he uses to strog arm companies into giving him jobs.

Whilst most Nigerians are struggling on the streets to make bread, this guy is killing it big through semi-legal means.. In 2012, one of his companies financial turn over was counting in hundreds of billions of Naira.

But that's for the fucktards that abound in Islam.

I see nothing wrong in Jesus or Mohammed being portrayed in a normal situation such as dancing or eating a popcorn.

People need to relax and stop getting angry on behalf of their Gods.

If Jesus could fight traders inside the tabernacle, is it to dance that he cannot do?!

What did people think Jesus was doing at the wedding in Cannan where booze was being served?!

I'm sorry to those who took offence to this animation, but you are just as bad as the muslims that go killing people over a cartoon depiction of the Prophet Mohammed (saw) who nobody has a picture of nor knew anything about his social life.

I'm so sick and tired of his attitude. I tried discussing with him that we should look for a better way to resolve issues but he said he doesn't want to discuss anything with me.
We are presently not talking and have promised myself that this year, no more begging and begging. Have apologised to him like thrice since yesterday, i've sent him messages apologising even though I know that i've done nothing wrong.
Now i'm always in my room because even when I go to where he is, he'll stand up and leave d place.
This is killing me inside. Don't know what to do.
Pls mature advice only.

Argh!! This is serious o!!

I used to do same to my wife (the not talking part only, but not the walking away or not eating) but she would just ignore me and continue to play with me like nothing happened and now I cant seem to do it anymore.

I really don't know what advice to give you..

Please just keep at it. No begging.. Just treat him like a grown up baby. That's what my wife used to cure me. Cook him a nice meal and keep working at peace from a light angle. That is a really bad habit that he needs to grow out of.

I thank God that I have stopped that kind of foolishness.

Yes, I agree they should be jailed but that is after the following people have been jailed:

1. The President, Ministers, Governors, Commissioners, Special Advisers etxfor all jobless graduates in the country.
2. All Bank CEOs who recently retrenched workers in their establishment.
etc etc.

NOTE: Sometimes I pity many people. Their father has not established any business and they have the mouth to spew rubbish about what those who have established something and are employing others. While you are deriding the post, I bet many applicants are already sending their CVs. Siddon there.

Look at you who is pitying someone.. grin

I'm sure you felt self righteous with this rubbish you wrote.

The law was established for a reason. Just because the government steals does not mean you should go and steal.

I also run a business of my own and I am not WICKED enough to take advantage of people. The Laws of the nation has set a minimum wage benchmark for salaries in the country after examining how much a person who works can earn to atleast get by.

You want premium dedication from your employees yet you don't want to pay the price for good service.

I'm sure that school belongs to your relative. Tell em that they are breaking the law and can go to jail for it if somebody tales them up on it. What you and your people in that school are doing is exploitation tantamount to slavery.

The fact that people are applying is not because your offer is good enough, its just because they are desperate.

And the next time you go talking about banks that fire workers en mass, you should go read up on the terms of their employment. Bank jobs are mostly 'contract jobs'. There is a release clause in their contracts that says the banks can fire them at short notice. Technically, they have not committed any offence since outsourcing is not an offence in Nigeria. However, the banks don't pay below minimum wage to their employees. I work a similar type of job so I know this. A bank cannot fire a full staff just like that..

If you feel the need to be educated further on the employment laws of the nation, I could school you and point out several violations in this your job offer.

You are aware that even on this 17'k, they are expected to pay taxes abi. So tell me how much is left to your teachers after tax.

You sir are running a sweat shop in that school. Go sell your sentimental bullshit to someone who does not know the law.

I fired a security company that works for me because they were paying there workers 11 thousand Naira per month.

The next time you point to the Government about their ills, please do well to remember that you are also a big part of the problem in this nation.

Just so you know... 17 thousand per month equals 809 Naira per day. Unskilled labor in Nigeria make more than that, and you and your father will pay graduates that and go to sleep at night peacefully.. angry

You are WICKED!!

Some decisions are made out of Ignorance.. Certainly my case was more than just ignorance peer pressure almost added to my PRESAGED MISTAKE..

I met a lady online some two weeks ago [2yrs older than me] we got along so well..Like we were dating..She's more of a Nymphomaniac..

Knowing about this, i made a sex proposal to her and she accepted..

Seeming so excited, i made plans on how it would happen for its my first time of going to such extent of FOOLISHNESS ..

Since i stay with my parents, i knew their every activity and move as well as their schedules..And the 31st night would be one busy night for them..So we agreed to meet on the 31st night..

Leaving the consequences behind and focusing on the pleasure i got over excited about this adventure..

Behold, i soon came to find myself in a seminar..LUCKILY, THE TOPIC DISCUSSED WAS BASED ON SEX AND SEX ALONE..

Having noted the consequences and why its meant for only SPOUSES, i felt remorseful about my decision..

God willing, that same day [Two days before the day we decided to meet], i read a topic which talked about the dangers of early sex..

Touched by these two TOPICS, i gave up on my proposal to have SEX..

Still curious, i shared this with my friends..Some said there was nothing wrong about it but others DISAGREED STRONGLY AND PROFUSELY..With my own perception of wrong doings, I dropped it totally..

And finally i told her i couldn't do it..She asked why and i explained..

This is a story i shared for it maybe of help to someone who's having a similar thought in mind..

I keep wondering what saved me..

Could it be my conscience or GOD or those topics?
That i don't really know.

In as much as u can still get schools in Lagos paying graduates 30k per month, despite the demanding standard of living, I don't knw why some folks are castigating the advert. For your info, I was being paid #10,500 when I joined the school in 2010 until the pay 4 graduates was later increased to 17k, and it's still subjected to increment. Now, I have just secured govt teaching job. Teaching job is not a function of the pay but of interest. Cost of leaving in Ekiti is very low relative to other states u can imagine. One of the problems most Nigerian graduates have has to do with their mentality towards job searching..

Do you know how much an unskilled labourer earns in a place like Port-Harcourt?! 1500 naira a day.. Multiplied by an average of 25 working days a month = 37,500 naira per month.

A Mason earns 3500 Naira a day.. * 25 working days per month = 87,500..
