freecocoa: I blame him, why has he never attended the crusade all these past years? Shey na now wey him dey campaign up and down him remember crusade? Didn't he know he was in Ngige's hometown? How dare he show his ugly face to tell people to vote against their son who is far better than him? Just what did he think will happen?abi him wan say he doesn't know that many Anambrarians don't like him because he is a wicked man?But the stampede happened after he had left. Infact 3 hrs after he had departed. Obi did not cause that stampede.. Poor space management and inadequate exit points did.. Obi was not at the Reinhard Bonnke crusade where 14 people were stampeded to death.. Neither was Ngige. Nigerian Chruches pride themselves in Mega crusades forgetting the harzard associated with such gatherings. the triggers for a stampede are normally small things. Sometimes a pure water sachet that explodes like a gun can cause a stampede.. Dont blame Obi.. Blame the Pastor.. |
Vickfrank62: dis 1 must be 4rm d Niger delta....Mayb z pocket or pulse d money z ridiculous Let d died bury d diedErm!!! ![]() |
freecocoa: Satan go sha punish this Peter Obi and his cohorts, like how wicked are these people? He attended the crusade with his sister that is a Rev. Sister (Nun).. Im sure he attended for political reasons, but then again, the stampede happened at the end of the show on his way out, so who do we blame? |
juman: But it was widely reported that the road was bad.I am giving you my first hand report.. That road is super good. I have even posted pictures of that road 0here on Nairaland.. On that road, my average speed is 160Km/hr.. Top Speed is 200Km/hr |
Ujujoan: Some people are just daft by nature . . .Uju, kpa cha kwa anya gi o.. ![]() |
SoniaUK: . U must be a first class olodo,ur brains aint in order.were did u see dem talkin abt pastor dr abi u no read d part were him give d Rev Father 2million but he rejected it before d stampede occurred.ewu awusaSee insult na! The article says the stampede happened 3 hours after the Governor had left, you come and say that the governors rejected 2 million Naira offer caused the stampede.. Hmm The Catholic archbishop of Onitsha diocese has come out to blame the stampede on a false alarm that was raised by someone whilst people were leaving the crusade ground after the vigil had ended. An eyewitness that was at the crusade ground said that the stampede happened at the end of the vigil around 5. APC's Lai Mohammed has blamed the stampede on Obis impromptu visit to the crusade ground, though he never said that the stampede happend whilst Obi was there. Obi has blame the APC for planting supporters at the venue who started waving brooms (APC logo) when he started making his speech. Victor Umeh has blamed the stampede on Ngige and even called for his arrest.. So why would you resort to calling me an 'Ewu Hausa'?! If that priest had not packed 100,000 people into a confined space with limited exit point and poor crowd control, then people would not have found themselves in such a precarious situation in the first place. Reinhard Bonnke's crusade also killed 14 people a few years ago and Gov. Obi nor Ngige were not there.. You were too busy looking for who to blame that you inadvertently limited your brains ability to think on a broader spectrum. It does not matter what started the stampede. A single bee is enough to trigger a stampede. One lizard that crawls up a womans skirt is enough to trigger a stampede. Thats why I went to the root cause of the issue which is space management and crowd control. Anyways, I shouldnt have expected an Upper Iweka Akunna to be reasonable.. Note: The only way that a 2 Million Naira donation (that was rejected) would have been able to trigger a stampede would have been If the money was brought to the crusade grounds in cash.. And no Governor would bring a 2million Naira donation to a night vigil in cash. Not even a cheque sef. #Final advice, STOP SWALLOWING CUM!! |
kay1999: @Deschil I am sure your family is one of those stealing our money.. so why won't back them up.. I don't blame you.. you are just a demented fellow who lack human feelings.. millions of Nigerian undergraduate couldn't get job instead our leaders are doing Money festival and you are here saying Shiit... Middle Finger you punk A**s...Why drag his family into this?! Do you think 7 billion is ATM money?! Cool down.. There is always be poor people in the world, even Jesus said it. But to get all disrespectful and insulting to someone you have never met before just because he disagrees with your opinion is really bad and is capable of making life difficult for you. P.S: Whilst I agree that over 2 billion was spent on the 'Nigerias ROYAL BURIAL', I can also say that over half the money spent on that funeral didnt come from Jonathans pocket nor Nigerias coffer (pe se), but from FG contractors, politicians and friends.. Thats how iit works. |
ritux: Let's be reasonable sometimes. There is no way 7billion can be spent on a burial. Those of you who believe the 7billion naira issh, do you guyz know what 7Billion is?E no reach... But if you factor in the cost of; 1. Hiring over 10 Jets & Helicopters for like 1 week. 2. Cost of clearing that Okrika road (not the East-West road o) 3. Cost of the Aso-ebi for the Funeral that was shared to like over 1 million people. 4. Cost of security 5. Cost of Logistics. (Cars, block booking entire hotels for days, e.t.c) 6. Food 7. Drinks (this one can easily have taken over half a billion because the estimate I gave for T.Y danjumas daughters wedding for drinks was approximately 250million) 8. Souvenirs 9. Support Staff (Caterers, event managers, hosts and hostesses, e.t.c) e.t.c.. I wouldnt say 7 billion, but 2 billion is small. |
juman: The bad road killed the foster mother.Mr. Juman Jonathans Mother-In-Law died on one of the best roads in Rivers State.. Infact, the woman was so fat that when she hit the floor, she damaged the road and it has yet to be fixed.. Do not ever say that bad road killed her, rather over-speeding on a good road killed her. |

R.I.P To the dead ones.. A Pastor just killed you guys for selfish gains.. |
My house for Oniru na the same thing.. Infact, this water issue is making me consider moving to Gbagada and buying a Power bike at the end of my rent. No house I saw in Lekki|Oniru|Agungi|Jakande|Osapa London|Igbo Efon|e.t.c had clean water.. Why Lagos State government wouldn't build a Water board there is still amazing. Na when waterborne disease break out for Island, na ehn Lagos State Government go know say water follow for their responsibility to the people. |

chukel: Mr. Aboki until now was an ardent follower of "fresh air" because his life was put on d line by his oga. All along most nigerians lives have been put on d line by his oga, but he saw nothing wrong because he was not directly involved. Dat is hw it is pple. Wat goes around, comes around. Until insincere nigerians mother is killed by his paymaster, he wud not repent. Until foolish akpa ife's father is killed by dia paymaster, he will remain foolish. For sure wat goes around comes aroundheheheheee Well! It wasn't the fact that I was kept in the air circling for 45 mins despite the recent issues we have been experiencing in the Aviation sector in Nigeria that bothered me per se, it was the fact that it took the funeral of the Presidents Mother-in-law for Eleme/Onne road that is a very important road to not just only Rivers State but Nigeria as a whole to be finally fixed. I have been kept in the Air before in Nigeria. I remember being kept in the air way back when Virgin Nigeria was still our National carrier in Lagos for about 30mins in bad weather. I didn't like the fact that an entire city would be taken hostage for the funeral of the Presidents mother in law, but hey its expected. But that Eleme road matter was really bad. You do not want to know what that road was like and that is a Federal road. |
Rhino.5dm:Rhino I fit tear shirt fight you for that road matter. The Port Harcourt - Akwa Ibom axis of East-West road na ehn I dey talk about o!! The Port-Harourt - Benin side na another matter. But I posted a picture of my Speedometer here on Nairaland showing 200km/hr. That speed was done on this axis of east west road. The road is about 80% complete on the Port - Harcourt Akwa Ibom side. Infact, immediately you cross Eleme Petrochemical junction, you hit super good road from Nonwa till you exit Port-Harcourt into Akwa Ibom. ANd even after crossing into Akwa Ibom, the road is good till one turn off that takes you to Uyo. I so believe that road that I left Port-Hacourt for Uyo by 6:40p and arrived Uyo before 8. |
awodman: Mr aboki when exactly did work pick-up in this Eleme axis you are talking about and when was it finished? In fairness, work had started generally on the East- west road a long time ago with significant progress achieved. But the Eleme part had not been touched. The road there was still bad. That entire road is being constructed by RCC and I know it like the back of my hand. But the work picked up 'extra-ordinary pace' around Petro chemical area which leads into Okrika just for this funeral. They even took it as far as Eleme junction. Okrika can only be accessed by road from Eleme express road. The only other access is by water from the part of Okrika that sits on Port-Harcourt mainland (Abuloma). |
Billyonaire: You are confusing yourself, How can you say the Airspace was shut down, yet you were able to land after 45 minutes. Take it easy in calling people names when you are actually lower in IQ rating. The Pilot called out 'Prepare for landing' at 4:50. We circled until he called out again twice apologizing. Finally, he calls out to say; We have been bumped up and given 'priority' landing. Lets not forget that flights had been delayed to Port-Harcourt all day because of this funeral o. The flight I flew on was actually scheduled for 1.30. It left by 4. I was on the 3pm Arik and my flight was already late by 1 hour. I had to beg to be put on the 1.30 flight. |
Arysexy: @ mr aboki a.k.a okija juju, bros u dissapoint me with this thread.Ichie.. Mba o!! ![]() Heres my complaint sir; 1. Port Harcourt has two Airfields. Omagwa (Commercial) and NAF Base Military. Since the President knew that his Mother-in-laws burial would attract the usual flies that follows him about, he should have commandeered the Airforce Base and allow the regular scheduled flights for Omagwa to continue undisturbed. Lets not forget that when you halt or disrupt air travel like they did, it costs the State and the COuntry money somewhere, somehow. Whilst in the Air, I counted atleast 3 small Jets that flew by underneath us. I don't think it is wise to risk the safety of Thousands for the comfort of tens. (I hope you can understand) 2. Why did it take the death of the Foster Mother in Law of the President for that ELeme road to be fixed?! Just incase you do not understand the importance of Eleme road, let me explain it to you. Eleme ROad houses the following high priority National interests; - Eleme Petrochemical Refinery - National Fertilizer company - Access to Onne Free Trade Port - Access to Onne Port - A lot of Oil & Gas Fabrication Companies and yards - Its one of the entry/exit points from port Harcourt. This road is so important to Rivers State and Nigeria that it a surprise that it as left in such abject decay. The traffic on that road everyday can drive you mad. But what it took to fix that road was the death of the '1st mother-in-law'. I'm sorry but if nobody sees a problem with that, I do. Or shoud we wait for Jonathans Mother to die for the East-West rad that leads from Port-Harcourt to Bayelsa to be fully fixed?! You know that I have been a die-hard Jonathan supporter (only shifting sides when it involves Amaechi). I voted for Jonathan and was going to vote for him again. But beyond my tribal and ethnic sentiments, I don't think I would be doing Jonathan any good if I don't call his fuckups out. Ifu ife di njo, lets say it. If that Plane had dropped out of the sky as a result of this VIP priority access crap, Threads would be here on Nairaland floating around speculating what went wrong with Stella Oduah and NCAA taking the blame, ut we te passengers would be 6 feet underground (if we are lucky) and our stories would never be heard. I reminded you that DANA Air was kept in a holding Pattern that resulted in the death of over 150 people because we had 1 VIP passenger flying off.. Mba nu, oburo otus ka anyi kwesili I na ebi na obodo a. |
airmark: @OP, how was the hovering for 45minutes in PH like? Were passengers upbeat? Feed us more now.I was hoping to get a response from another Nairalander who may have been on board. I was seated at the very last seat. The whole plane was filled with angry passengers with some even calling for the Plane to either go to Owerri or back to Lagos. Me I just pin for one corner, dey pray say the Pilot buy full tank of fuel before we start movement.. ![]() |
awodman: Bros kpele ooo...abeg no leave the team biko..But nna this VIP movement thing really needs to be dealt with, its just not right keeping people hovering over the air..that's an invitation to avoidable accidents..Progress of work is still rather slow. I fly into Port Harcourt every 2 weeks and I must say the work seems to be stagnant. Especially the part that they are yet to build up. |
Ikengawo: You know what's worst than an airport being halted for GEJ arriving, every single northern state paying a 2000 dollar hajj airline ticket for 60 million muslims in states that have the highest polio rate and infant mortality rate in the known world after the Republic of NigerOdogwu!! Anam Ekene kwa! |
Sincere 9gerian: The OP was torn between supporting Amaechi and the president. May be he has finally made up his mind.YEAH!!! That's the problem.. I was in Pearson Airport when the hosted the G-8 Summit in June 2010. That was the first time I saw the Airforce 1 live. They didn't close out the entire airport for such a summit. The Presidents mother-in-law dies, we shut down Port-Harcourts airspace and roads for her funeral.. ![]() Why they didn't just use NAF Base for this is what I don't know. Lets all not forget that DANA Air that crashed was rumoured to have been kept in a holding pattern before it was given clearance to land (where it crashed). AND P.S: I met my boss in the airport waiting to board to Lagos. He said Jonathan had left a long time ago. SO who were the VIPs for which we blocked the Airport. |
berem: Who is aboki? I don't think you know who you're talking to.Babe!! Abeg leave it like that o!! ![]() I am really enjoying this.. How Bar? |
adino: @ opLol Its funny because I have been a supporter of Jonathan since forever. Again, I can understand that shit attracts flies so therefore Politicians and asskissers would flock to Okrika to kiss Madam Jonathans big yansh. But as a Port Harcourt boy, I would have expected that the wise thing to do would have been to use Airforce base for this. Yeah! Kudos to Jonathan for the Eleme axis of East-West road. I we should all start praying for another death in the Bayelsa axis of Jonathans Family and hope that will bring about the speedy completion of the Port-Harcourt - Bayelsa axis of this same road. I am a Jonathan supporter, but on this one, I am highly disappointed. |
So I just got into Port Harcourt today onboard the 3pm Arik flight. We were in Port-Harcourt Airspace by 5.00pm on the dot. But we landed by 5:50pm because we were kept in a holding parttern because of VIPs were leaving on their Jets from the Airport. Whilst we were circling the Port-Harcourt skies, I could see private jets below us jetting about. We were kept circling for 45minutes. When we finally Landed, there were 3 private jets and 3 Helicopters prepping for take-off. The tarmac and parking lot was lined with JTF and Mobile policemen that you would think you just landed in a war zone. Passengers on ground at PH airport looked so angry as they had been kept waiting for their flight's because of the rukus caused Mrs. Jonathans Mothers funeral. The Eleme axis of the East-West road that leads to Okrika where the funeral took place that has been under construction for over 8 years was finally completed just in time for the funeral. Reports have it that Port Harcourt has been under siege this past week with certain Areas in Port Harcourt fully sealed off. Today, I officially left the FRESH AIR train. Jonathan has just disappointed me greatly. They spent billions of Naira for the funeral of his foster Mother in-law, yet ASUU is still on strike. For the first time in a long while, the harsh reality of how messed up Nigeria truly is dawned on me. Come 2015, if a better candidate presents himself, I will definitely not vote for Jonathan and his Shepopotamus of a wife. We need more than a revolution in this country, what we need is the second coming of Jesus to just put an end to all this. |
samsard: that kid aint escaping no matter whatWell... I would agree based on the 'Nigerian Factor' of the Law is for the rich and also on the fact that our Legal Aid department is filled with 'Charge & Bail' lawyers. If this were the kid of another well off Nigerian, The boy would walk away with Manslaughter charges riding on the back of an insanity plea. |
