very possible, since identity fraud is rampant. here is how it would work:
person opens a business account with POS in Nigeria with a stolen ID and fraudulent infos (or simply pay someone for such service), then they get the money into the account and immediately transfer the money into another account across the world, then to another and another, and finally after a few transactions, into some equally fake account in China or Iran (or some anonymous account in the Cayman Island). the thief will have plenty of time to withdraw ALL the cash, before the money could be traced back anywhere.

as for guns, i think that this is what Nigeria needs. people having the means to defend themselves, their families and their homes.

Not entirely true. I have been privileged to have background information about the FFL. Djibouti is only one of their several bases, and legionnaires who get posted there are actually paid more than those based in France. In addition, every legionnaire is given options to choose from after training, so saying that many will end up in Djibouti is just being plain ignorant. I know this because I used to inter-operate with the French and American airborne in a previous life.

you are right...back in the days it was indeed only abroad for foreign "engagé" ... Djibouti, French Guiana, Mayotte, Corsica (no that is not France in my book lol), but now they have a few base in France. nevertheless, this is a very dangerous and demanding option.

Someone who has already secured a valid visa, and came to a social networking thread to seek advice must have already considered all these options. My focus is to provide him with legitimate options to legalize his stay when he gets to Europe, I find it disingenuous that people who do not even reside in Nigeria are advising him to remain in Nigeria. We should be joining hands together to give him as many options as available in Europe, not telling him to remain in Nigeria.

the options you gave him aint legitimate, they are ILLEGAL, and instead of focussing his energy on doing negative/wrong things to achieve his goal (like most lazy Nigerians do), why dont you teach this guy how to focus his energy on doing what is RIGHT in life?!
you want him to A) lie to the authorities in order to be regarded as an "asylum seeker" WRONG
and then you want him to B) enter into some sham marriage, defrauding an emotionally miserable lady AND the state, just to achieve his selfish means, WRONG AGAIN. what makes such "crime" to achieve his selfish means (at the expense of others) different from the crimes of people who gladly rob and kill because they were "hungry" and/or with no money?!

this guy HAS options, but (like most lazy Nigerians do) he wants to cut corners, and achieve his aim in a fraudulent manner, at the expense of others.... and, no matter how you try to paint this, it is WRONG and ILLEGAL to do what you have advised him to do.

You really think the white women don't know this?! They are fully aware that the individual needs papers, and they themselves require love. So it's a mutually beneficial relationship. It's not a sham if it can be proven by both parties that there is a subsisting genuine relationship; and even if it's a sham, it's up to the immigration authorities to prove that it is. It's not up to us.

there are 2 issues here, A) there is the brotha who goes abroad, genuinely falls in love with a woman and then tells her he has visa issues and therefore ask that they get married, in order for them to be together..... no problem here. and then there is B) the brothas who seek for the ugliest, most desperate, nastiest women out there, and start lying to these miserable women that they love them bla bla bla, solely to get a quick marriage in order to get a visa to stay in that country. these guys never tell these poor women (that genuinely loves them) that all of this is a scam/sham to stay in that land nor that this "fake love" is only until they get their permanent residency. the sad part is that these women are so miserable that i am sure that they would even accept if these guys were honest with their love scam.

my only beef in this issue is that these dude have children (aka insurance policy) with these women knowing fully well that they will bounce out of these kids life the minute the permanent residency papers are out.

The other option is for the OP to go to France and join the French Foreign Legion. It's up to him to weigh both options and choose what is best for him.

lol, many people dont know this, but when you join the French foreign legion, their main base is in DJIBOUTI and thats where many are shipped to.

what about these options:
- get a job that will sponsor your visa
- choose a study program that will help you further your education while discovering life abroad
- go on holiday 1st to sample the place, then come back when your visa is out, and apply "properly" again for a working/student/spouse visa (whatever your circumstance may be).
- stay home until you are ready (financially/emotionally) to support yourself during the period of your intended stay.
- go to a country where Nigerians dont require a visa to enter

I did look into finding a collocation, but most had shared room written in the description, I don't mind sharing a flat but not a room.

you are welcome, and dont worry, although many agents/owners dont like to speak English, they will understand if you write to them in English.
both sites you mentioned above are orientated towards tourists coming for a short stay in France, while you need to look for apts where locals do.
your school is about 1 metro stop from St Michel RER station, which is better for you then, as you have more options of where to stay, a short public transport ride away

Can you please recommend any close to the 6th arrondissement, that's where my school is. One that doesn't cost too much, I don't mind traveling 30mins or a bit more to school, I mean I do worse in Lagos, so It shouldn't be that hard.
I haven't seen any studio less than €800, and that's like 80 of what I'd be getting monthly. I REALLY need to stretch my money, I can't afford that much on rent.

hi, where exactly in the 6th Arrondissements will you study? this can make a big difference, because if you are close to St Michel RER then you have easy access to 2 RER lines (B and C) but if you are more on the south part of the 6th Arrondissement (close to Luxembourg/Port Royal) then you have just the RER B. as you probably already know, the RER is the fast metro line that only stops at main areas and go all the way to the suburbs quicker.

so for example, from Luxembourg station (RER B), you can get to southern suburbs of Paris called Arcueil Cachan (10mins), Bagneux (12mins), Sceaux (17mins), Fontenay aux roses (19mins), Massy (20mins) and Anthony (20mins). you can also get to northern suburbs of paris like La Courneuve (16mins), Aubervilliers (16mins), Drancy (21mins), Le Bourget (19mins), and the ever populaire Aulnay sous Bois in less than 30mins ride

from St Michel station (RER C), you can get to southern suburbs of Paris called Ivry sur seine (11mins) and Vitry sur seine (13mins), Choisy le Roi (19mins), Issy les moulineaux (20mins)and Meudon (22mins)

these are all paces that are within the "zone 3" of the metro network (apart from Massy and Aulnay s/ Bois in zone4), because the further you go, the more expensive the fare will be.... but in all the places i mentionned above, you can easily find studios for 500€ top (or less). also you may want to look for shared apt where you could be closer within Paris and with your own room.

btw, within 10 mins i was able to find many places in the middle of Paris (let alone the suburbs) for less than 500€. here:

il y a plein de gens qui croient que l'Europe c'est facile, mais avec la vague de racisme, les refugiés syriens etc et la crise en Europe.... un sans papiers africain, qui ne parle pas la langue, est mal barré. mon frêre, j'en ai tellement vu de nos compatriotes qui faisaient des choses HORRIBLES pour s'en sortir. au moins, en Afrique y'a la sécurité car tu as la famille donc toujours un toit/repas chaud, alors qu'à l'aventure, ces choses la ne sont pas assurés. de plus, la vie en Afrique n'est pas chère comparée aux tarifs de la Scandinavie.... j'ai vécu 3 ans en Norvège et 1 an au Danemarque, et je peux te dire qu'en Hiver si tu es à la rue, tu ne feras pas une nuit et on retrouvera ton corps congelé au petit matin.

F) if you cant survive/hustle in Nigeria, what makes you think you could in Europe? havent you heard that Syrian refugees are everywhere and that now finding a job is thrice as difficult?! without a valid visa, even slavery in Nigeria is better than what you may have to do to survive in Europe.
