You will see a true Christian bro, who has been set apart for God's work looking in the wrong direction for a spouse or obviously going for a runs or wayward girl due to her physical appearance/attraction. And then he tries to change her by telling her to stop wearing this, stop doing that just to make her look perfect and suitable for him. The runs girl too, happy she's seen a permanent mugu, will adjust ( not genuinely born again) and then begin to play along until they.get married. But you know what they say about a leopard that doesn't change its skin, a runs girl will always be a run girl and later in life, she'll easily go back to her old ways because she was never really regenerated in the first place.
It you're truly a born again bro or sis, don't ever make the mistake of pampering sinners into marriage. Dont try to convert someone because you want to marry them. Let them get converted first of their own accord through God. Then go through sanctification by the Holy spirit ( which is a huge process on it own) before you can say for certain this one will make a good wife and help me actualize my God given purpose in life or help in my ministry.
A lot of young christian bro are deceiving themselves these days but they always reap it in the future. Imagine what that man and his ministry will be going through right now? This could destroy his ministry and even make him lose his life or even eternity. He probably forced his lifestyle on her but now she's back to what she's good at. Hmm... unstoppable51: It is no news that a virus “coronavirus” is currently spreading across the globe like wildfire. As with earthquakes, flooding, hurricanes and other natural disasters, opportunists are already taking advantage of the situation to say that God is the one using this particular virus to punish the world for their sins and force them to come back to Him.
On the other hand, those who do not believe in the existence or the goodness of God, are making it look like God doesn’t care about the world. “If He cares, why will He let such an evil thing come upon the same people He claims to love” they say.
If you continually give a listening ear to such, they will take away your eyes from the more deadlier diseases and infections that God has in the past delivered and given man the wisdom to keep them in check. Such statements will even make you forget the supernatural healings we have witnessed God perform on the behalf of those who trusted in Him.

Testimonies abound of people getting healed of medically incurable diseases. Very many of them. God has continually demonstrated His goodness in pulling men from the pangs of death, right there on their sick beds. Even when the doctors have given up on them. If He did it once, He can do it again and again, and again! We simply have to hold on to His promises.
From the activities of the virus, we are confident that God is definitely not behind it. And knowing this, we can be bold enough to reject it from our lives. By prayer and by common sense!
By prayer here, I mean praying for yourself and members of your family. That their lives are spared from this virus and every other one out there. That no harm by any means come upon them.
You also pray for the world, that the wisdom of God be given to our medical personnels who are out there in search of the cure. That the light of God shine on the right part for them. That they look and see the medical solutions, even in the least expected areas. That they leave no stone unturned, looking down on it and concluding that solutions cannot come from such.
Some sicknesses and viruses can be demonic. As is the case of the man we read about in the scriptures.
Mat_9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. Mat_9:33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
While the rest of the people saw the man as having a medical challenge. Jesus saw the challenge as spiritual and addressed it as such. So while we pray for the men working tirelessly in the medical field for a solution to this, let’s also pray that nothing supernatural hinders their efforts. Especially by causing the virus to spread even further, beyond control.
Apart from handling the outbreak spiritually, also apply common sense in your day to day activities when it comes to avoiding the virus. The essence of God giving us a brain is so that at moments like this we can use it and stay safe from certain things. Like my mentor use to say, “the blood of Jesus washed away our sins, not our brains.”
Abide by the safety and prevention guidelines being rolled out by our medical personnels whom God has given the wisdom to guide us at such a time. Do not put yourself and others in unnecessary danger and then blame God for the aftermaths. Learn about the virus from very reliable sources and don’t join others in spreading falsehood about it.
Most importantly, do not live in fear of the virus or the infections. Our God is well able and strong to heal and deliver us from it. He will give the scientists wisdom to find the medical cure for it. But even in the absence of that, we trust in His divine power to keep us.
We saw the rise and fall of anthrax, bird flu, ebola and the rest of them. In no distant time from now, we will see the end of the coronavirus too. It shall join the list of the viruses and diseases we have all seen and overcome.
While we wait on that, I pray “that both you and all that concerns you be kept safe at this time. That angels work tirelessly on your behalf spiritually and physically, to keep you very far from the virus.”
Never forget to apply common sense and abide by the health guidelines given by experts on this. Remember, Jesus washed away our sins, not our brains. And he did it for only one purpose- so we could use it.
Coronavirus is not God’s way of punishing or teaching the world any lesson. Quit attributing to God the very destructive works of the devil.

Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs, says there is no hidden agenda behind some countries evacuating their citizens from Nigeria.
At least, 637 Europeans were evacuated from Nigeria and Benin Republic on Thursday.
The move had left many wondering if there is a cause for alarm.
During the press briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Friday, a journalist had asked Onyeama if leaving the country was an indictment on Nigeria’s health system, to which the minister responded that it’s not necessarily so.
Onyeama said those who had left did so did so to enable them make use of a system that they are familiar with, should the need arise.
He added that the diplomatic staff of most of the countries are still in Nigeria, and that hey have no plans of leaving.
“It is basically a case where people are more familiar with the health system in their various countries and so prefer to go to the various countries so in the event that they might have to be confined, they would be in more familiar surroundings and they would also have access to medical practitioners and facilities that they are used to,” Onyeama said.
“So, that is really the reason. And you will find that a large number of those countries evacuating citizens, that their heads of mission and ambassadors and other staff are still here in Nigeria and there are no plans of leaving.”

Shallow isn't necessarily bad per se in this case because I find your reasons very cute...just not as...'vital'? Especially if it's something that could affect a relationship that was quality enough to become an engagement.

Now to the gist of the thread:
This thread is basically juxtaposing a Christian Husband with Jesus Christ. The idea dropped from the threads about disadvantages of no-sex courtship and 'I don't want to re-incarnate as a Nigerian woman'. Some other thoughts dropped while listening to 'In Christ Alone' by Travis Cottrel although there are several versions.
The Bible compares the marriage between Christ and the Church (all believers) with a husband and wife. Ephesians 5: 31 - 32. Full reading Eph 5:21-33 31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”[c] 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.
Hence my comparing a husband to Jesus Christ. Now, I know a husband is human so cannot be perfect and is working towards perfection. Also, since it is an illustration of Christ's relationship with the Church, it would not completely be same. For instance, wives do not pray in their husband's name nor can the husband save his wife.
Please note that Christians, when I talk imperfection, we are not talking adultery or abuse here. I will be picking some of Christ's characteristics that a Christian husband should emulate:
1. His love: The Bible is filled with stories and instances of God's love John 3:16. The new testament tells us of the love of Christ who left His glory in heaven, came in form of man to save mankind he created. Eph 3:17-19. John 15:9-10. He also corrects us to be the best version of ourselves in love.1 Cor 13:1-13 is also a fantastic read.
2. His goodness, mercy and compassion: Everywhere Jesus went, He was know for doing good. His presence signaled relief, lifting of burdens, forgiveness of sins, restoration, redemption etc. etc. Acts 10:38; Matthew 14:14; Matthew 9:36. His Mercy is seen in the story of the adulterous woman; John 8:1-11. He had mercy on the thief beside Him.
3. His thoughtfulness: His prayer in the whole John 17 for His disciples and Christians worldwide; Him sending us the Holy Spirit who functions as teacher, encourager, comforter and empowerer. Him feeding the multitude who came to listen on several occasions. Even at the cross, while dying and facing separation from His Heavenly father, He still remembered to commit His earthly mother into a disciples' hands: John 19:26-27
4. His forgiveness: In addition to His love, the Bible tells us about Jesus Christ forgiving our sins Colossians 2:14; John 1:12; 1st John 1:8
5. His leadership: He was a servant-leader/Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep. We are called Christians because we follow his example back to back. As a leader, He did not lord it over us, rather doing everything for our benefit. John 13:12-17; Matthew 20:22-28; Philippians 2:3; 1st Pet 5:1-4 etc.
6. His sacrifice: Philippians 2: 5-11 summarizes His ultimate sacrifice. He accepted to be separated from God the Father for a while to die for us despite the cost Matthew 26:39. During His crucifixion, He carried the sins of the world as no human/animal sacrifice can fully pay for our sins hence separated (forsaken) by God who is Holy and cannot behold sin Luke 15:34; Isaiah 59:1-2; 1st Peter 2: 21-24; 1st John 2:2. Why did He risk all that? Because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:22.
7. His ownership & authority: Everywhere in the Bible we are reminded that we are the possession of Christ bought by His precious blood; the highest bride price anyone has paid for a bride. Yet the sound of ownership by Christ gives us peace, joy, love, hope, eternal assurance of glory etc. Through that ownership, we are joint heirs with Him, assured of Heaven, assured of seeing God Eph 1: 1-14. He gave us the Holy Spirit to identify us, he is not ashamed of us. Everywhere the authority of Christ is mentioned, it is for the benefit of we Christians. At no point did Christ ever use the fact that He is the head or 'paid bride-price' to 'bully' or 'disrespect' the Church. Infact, the hope and confidence of Christians is based on the fact that Christ is creator John 1:1-5 and Lord of everything for our benefit. Eph 1:22-23. Every title He has/gave himself was for our benefit: Bread of life, Prince of Peace, the Resurrection and life, the Living Water etc.
8. His intimacy: He tells us in John 15:1-5 that He is the vine and we are branches and He tells us to abide in him as He abides in us. He also shared everything He knew about God the Father John 15: 14-15. We do not know the date of His second coming ONLY because He did not know as man Mark 13:32, He however told us several signs Matthew 24 and warned us to keeping watching till then. As Christians, we never doubt our place in Jesus or His love/intentions for us because He tells us all the time. The whole of Romans 8. John chapters 14 through 17 is a very good read.
9. His empowerment: Jesus Christ wants us to do greater things than He he did and sent us the Holy Spirit to achieve that. John 14:12. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2nd Timothy 1:7; He empowers to do everything (godly) Philippians 4:13
10. His emotions: He was in tune with His emotions and allowed them flow. He cried when Lazarus died and saw how people were sad even though He could and would raise Him up . John 11:33-44; Because Jerusalem rejected salvation Luke 13:34; When He prayed to God for deliverance from death before His time Hebrews 5:7. He expressed deep anger when the temple people started buying and selling Matthew 21:12-13. He has felt the same thing we have so can empathize with us. Hebrews 4:14-16
11. His provision: He gave us salvation through His blood, riches through His poverty 2nd Cor 8:9; Power and Comfort through the Holy Spirit Acts 1:4,7-8; will supply all that we need according to his riches in glory Philippians 4:19 etc.
