Education › Re: My Son Is Not Interested In His Secondary Education But Taught Himself Coding by na2016: 6:22pm On Aug 07, 2021 |
treatise: Good morning Nairalanders, my is son is 12years old and in JSS 3 and has been adjudged to have high grasping ability by teachers and those he's interacted with but we have made several efforts to make him have interest in his academics ; he does not have any interest. We started giving lesson teachers when he turned 3 years but he particularly does not do well in math whereas he does wonders with his laptop.
A corps member who was teaching him math casually introduced Coding to him, copied some introductory steps to his laptop and left town. Since then he's been playing with the ebooks the corps member left for him and that informed my decision to employ the services of a computer engineer who was wowed by my son's level of advancement in coding ; he's built a couple of websites though rudimentary in my consideration.
It's a fact that almost all courses in universities require math as a prerequisite in getting admission; I kindly need your advice on best approach(es) in solving this challenge.
Thanks so much great people. Develop him around what he loves. Most gurus didn't have a university education and some dropped out of University. When he grows older, if he so wishes, he will get one. I bet you, this guy may be a star in the making. |

kingthreat: I cannot know all. Yes I need more education. Same with you too and you should extend it to people of your interest. Learning never ends. I asked a salient question at first, if you were the manager are you 100% sure that the fire damage would have been minimal? To comment is easy, action takes more than that. Though I am very much in support of the fact that Fire safety training should be paramount for all staff. This month it was a devilish child, tomorrow it could be a wire spark. Brother, I am a human like you. I probably would have acted better or worse. But with my knowledge, I feel I would have done better. However, we should not be attributing everything to the devil. Have a great day ahead bro. |

kingthreat: Are you trying to say that if you were the manager of that shopping mall, the situation won't have been what it is? Pray not for fire. When you hear something spreading like a "wild fire", you should know why that phrase was coined. Not to sound insulting, I feel you need more education. Sometimes, it is not all topics one should comment and one should endeavour to read wide. I repeat that it is possible that the right extinguisher was not even available in the mall (or do you think all extinguishers work on any fire?). Second, I repeat Nigerians should learn to take where they work as theirs, that way people won't show a less concerned attitude over things simply because it is not theirs.
For a fire that started at one of the aisles and with staff all over the place with the right extinguisher at the end of each aisle and regular fire drills, this would have been arrested. |

Seun: This video shows that the staff saw the fire early on. I would like to see if they brought back a fire extinguisher as the commentator said they were going to. I don't believe those lighters alone could have burned down the entire supermarket if they used a fire extinguisher shortly after that employee saw the fire, unless they were storing larger quantities of gas or other flammable materials in the store. I would really love to see what the staff did after detecting the fire. What if the right extinguisher was not available? I have watched the video and I strongly believe, this incident would have been arrested early on. But our lackadaisical attitude towards everything caused billions of naira to be lost and the staff that thought, it doesn't concern them will now be without a job. |

farous: Can a graduate with over 13 years working experience accept job offer of N85,000 monthly salary simply because the person's company had challenges and is out of job.
The daily transport to and fro to work is atleast N1,500 and such a person will still have to buy and eat morning and afternoon food, dress well and has a family. Above all, because of traffic and distance to workplace, such a person will be leaving house atleast by 5am and coming home can reach 10pm.
Is it worth it?,Kindly advise take the job. It is better than staying at home and being dependent. While on it, with his experience, he will land a big job. |

Didn't the PDP government through some foreign experts conclude that this project was not viable and that the then Rivers state governor was advised not to go ahead with the project? |

Most kids are very intelligent and bright academically, hence at 14 and 15 years they are done with waec. They will have to wait 3 good years before attempting jamb they are not sure of.
We see kids of 11 years in the western world as degree and masters holders and these fools in the Senate celebrate them, tell me if laws like these abound in such countries, would there have been feats like that.
Nonsense and Buhari, they will send their kids outside for education and frustrate the common man in Nigeria. Abeg which western country? |
