What Is Really Happening Inside DELTA STATE

A Yet-To-Be-Identified Girl reportedly died after she was pushed out of a moving commercial tricycle, popularly called keke, by gunmen.

It was learnt that the gunmen allegedly robbed her of her personal effects inside the keke before she was pushed out at high speed.

She hit her head on the tarred road and sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred by the harbour market, Udu road in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday.

The hospitals she was rushed to demanded a doctor’s report, leaving the good Samaritan who had picked her up with no choice but to return her to where he picked her.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe did not pick telephone calls nor did he respond to a WhatsApp message sent to him for comments on the incident.

No fewer than four people have lost their lives while another four were injured on Sunday in an accident that occurred at about 12:40 p.m. around MRI, Mosimi along the Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu area of Ogun State.

The crash involved a wine-coloured Toyota Sienna bus with registration number LND945EL and a white convoy bus with registration number AKD232XV.

The fatal crash was blamed on wrongful overtaking and excessive speeding, leading to a head-on collision of the two vehicles.

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command, Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe revealed this in a statement sent to journalists on Sunday.

The injured were said to have been taken to the Dasochris Hospital at Gbaga, Ogijo, while the relatives of the dead were said to have come around to claim their corpses for burial.

The statement partly read, “Rescue operation was carried out today, Sunday, 26th May 2024, by a team from FRSC Mosimi Unit Command at MRI on a crash that occurred at about 1240 hrs.

“The crash involved two vehicles with the following details:
wine Toyota Sienna with registration number LND945EL and a white Convoy Bus with registration number AKD232XV.

“Eight people were involved in the crash. Six male adults, one female adult and one female child.”

Okpe said that the four deceased included two male adults, one female adult and one female child while four male adults were injured.

“The injured victims were taken to Dasochris Hospital, Gbaga, Ogijo, while the family took custody of the corpses.

“The suspected causes of the crash were speed and wrongful overtaking which led to the rear collision of the two vehicles,” the statement added.

The Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Command, Anthony Uga has sympathised with the families of the crash victims.

Uga advised motorists to desist from overspeeding and give total attention to driving, as it is very important to be sure of when to overtake and not at will.

He further urged motorists to ensure road markings on overtaking are obeyed.

What Is Really Happening Inside This Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the murder of a middle-aged woman in one of the hotels within the metropolis.

The woman was killed in a gruesome manner in the hotel where she allegedly went with her alleged killer.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufai confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone interview saying the deceased was found dead with a slit throat in the toilet of the hotel room.

He said the police have commenced an investigation and have gathered useful information from documents the suspect left in the hotel room.

[b]“We have commenced an investigation into the incident, as we are able to gather some useful information from documents the alleged killer left in the room and his information at the reception.

“We will update the press on our investigation as it goes on but for now, we are on it,” [/b]he added.

Sources close to the deceased said the victim is a divorcee mother of four who occasionally visited the hotel.
