NIG-GERMAN is slowly inching itself towards my exit price! Looks like its on task to reach N28-30 before the release of report in Dec

hey I think someone mentioned this book "How to buy and sell shares in Nigeria" that is on Proshare. Has anyone here read it, and how helpful is it. How available is it to purchase, cause I live in Yankee, but can get someone to get it for me.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 5:11am On Nov 21, 2007
Hey my people for those who read charts can someone confirm if this NIG-GERMAN chart looks like its going to correct sideways and possibly be a good example of a high-tight flag price pattern??

http://www.firstglobalselect.com/scripts/cgiip.wsc/globalone/htm/quote_and_news.r?pisharetype-id=6090

Thats what it looks like to me all signs are pointing towards it, but would like others input on this.

Thanks

CelebritiesRe: Dakore Egbuson And Her Fiance (Olumide Akande) by Naijadr: 9:47am On Nov 20, 2007
If Olumide is as humble as his dad even with his riches then thats amazing. Harry Akande is too humble, if u talk him and someone didnt tell u who he was, u would have no idea.
Cute couple.

Well MBenefits is having a PO, for all you know they can go on TS next week, and your goal of N5 might not be reached for a while grin
I've some MBenefits and matter of fact its going to be my 1st grp of shares to go by end of the week.
Entry and exit prices are good but its also good to be aware of whats going on in the market and maximize profits when u can. We all know the bull's run isnt going to last long, and there's nothing sustaining these high insurance prices that are being posted right now. While I set exit and entry prices, I also think folks should set gain and loss percentages, like if I get a loss of 15%, I'm out, if I get a gain of 200% in 1 mth, or 125% in 1 week, I'm out that kind of thing. Folks all have their reasons
kpineo:
@FatherOF2

Oga if you have any secrets share now oh, before we know your postcode abi na zipcode.

@ALL

everyone seems to be going for the idea of dumping insurance stocks once they gain 25%, but that is an assumption that the holder got in at a value lower than beofre the rally start. which is not always true. My target price for MBenefit is N5, might be wishful thinking but will not play ball until that target is hit and would re-enter once it drops to about N4. i think everyone should set their entry and exit prices.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 1:42pm On Nov 19, 2007
Now isnt the time to get in, not at this price, you missed the train for now, wait till the bull's run stops and the price comes down a but

Thanks bro for the info! I see they are based out of NYC, I like the aggressive funds making 50% from July till now. Def a great way for diversification outside of the stock market. I see minimum is at $1,000 and that'll be increased to $5,000 in Dec, aaah wish I had the money for it now. Please keep it coming through I'm sure most peope here wont pay attention to this, but I like it o grin Pls can I have more info also on the Chinese Yangtse funds, Thanks!
An advise on the FXCM FOREX MANAGED FUNDS

Posted an earlier link on this but received a response from one Zenith Admirer here.
Just like a way of diversifying your investment if you have some plenty cash to invest.
Like the going says don't put all your eggs in one basket, so for me,

I invest in the Nigeria Stock Market (not measured), Chinese Yangtse funds (85% returns YTD) , Forex Managed Funds (50% 3 months returns).
It is fun to have your cash in different portfolios especially after the great bearish market we have since July of this year.

It is very easy to withdraw your funds and it takes a maximum of two days to cash out.

I can say I invested $5,000 at the inception of the FXCM Sentimental Aggressive fund and Now it is worth about $7,500.
It will only take me an internet connection and two days to retrieve my money in part or in full.

For those who are into the forex world, I advise you try this for diversification since the forex is a very volatile business.

Happy sunday to all and hope for a good bull run at the stock market
my broda has it on youtube, he usually records highlights from naija matches, so u'll have to deal with youtube's limit, cant post full thing, we watched the match online on ghanaian tv so ignore the useless commentators, Abwoa, kwasia!! lol

he has maybe 5 clips now from the match all 5mins long, he wanted to add more, but I'm disturbing him now grin

I think he's just going to be posting the full games online somewhere else

WOW! Checked portfolio, the market looks crazy today, talk about big jump.
NIG-GERMAN is almost 120% from 3 weeks ago, and 10% from 2 weeks ago aaah **slapping myself** I knew I should have bought more last mth. Its inching gradually, and if it continues this way it'll be in a great position for 1st quarter 08 run.
I issued a sell mandate for MBenefits this morning then tried to cancel this evening, hoping I can still cancel it, I'll know Monday, try to ride it for a short while and try to bounce before the PO which should be happening soon.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 6:26pm On Nov 16, 2007
I pay 2.6 to buy and 2.3 to sell (have to use UBA NRN just cause its easy for me from outside the country) well I be small persin, no 5mil or 10mil here grin just yet that is cool Then the money can be used to do the negotiating
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 5:54pm On Nov 16, 2007
Yeah but i decided to cancel sell order, since bull's run is going on and I'll be at a loss, because by the time they sell it'll be tuesday and then use that money to buy it'll be thursday, I no go buy crusader for N5 oooohhh grin
@dr yeah are u in medicine too?
aktopgun:

I did not ask for your opinion, did I?
My friend he gave the answer most people on here would give, I cracked up when I saw your N30, that would mean an almost 1000% ROI within the next yr, look at the NSE and see how many companies made that much this yr like 3?
You didnt ask for his opinion but you posted it on here so you clearly wanted an opinion, notice he was the only one who responded meaning others prob laughed and moved on. No need to get sentimental because the answer isnt what you want.

Right now I've MBenefits and I'm pretty much tired of it, issuing sell order 1st thing in the morning and using the money to lump on Crusader instead
I sure dont want it to still be there when they go on TS and tie up the money.

Temmie10:
@naijadr
whats uba stockbrokers like? are they timely in executin orders?
Its about 2 business days to buy/sell, myself and a couple of friends, and some on here use it, its the UBA NRN (Non resident Nigerian) acct. Their online portal isnt functional, but they said it'll be up and running by start of 2008 I believe, so all transactions are done via email for buy/sell orders. The Relationship officer that I deal with is very efficient, during Naija business hrs sometimes I get a response in as little as 9mins (like today I did) but never longer than a business day. I get an invoice for all money transfers, and I get a statement balance everytime I buy or sell.
Minimum to open is N250k (but you need to open current acct with N100k before that), after current acct is open, all you need to keep it open is N5k, so N95k from that can go towards the N250k minimum

The reason I really like it is its like a 1 stop shop esp with a reputable bank. I get to have a current account and a capital market acct. I can send money to my acct from my bank acct or credit/debit card to my UBA acct in 2 business days using www.ubaremit.com and the rates are cheaper than western union, sending $2000 costs like $12 to send or so. Once it gets there I just issue a transfer order to go from my current acct to capital acct along with a buy order. I don't have to deal with sending western union to someone, the money always stays in 1 of my accts. If I'm going to naija, I can send money to my acct, and walk into any UBA branch office and get it.

Plus they have Mortgage benefits which is 1 of main reason some of us went with them, basically with an NRN acct, you will be approved for a mortgage if you get approved for the same amt in your country (US/UK/Canada). They use your income in your country to approve you for the loan. Here are the mortgage benefits below. Locations for right now are Lagos, PH, ABJ, Enugu, Asaba, Ibadan, Benin, Owerri, Jos, Abeokuta, Calabar, Kaduna, Kano, Makurdi, Maiduguri, Yola, and other state capitals are considered on a case by case basis.

Maximum loan amount: $310,000 (equivalent in GBP and Euros), $540,000 for executives of

Reputable Corporates

Minimum loan amount: $40,000

Minimum Equity Contribution: 20% LTV for employed Professionals and 30% LTV for self-employed

Professionals

Tenor: Maximum of 15 years (180 months)

Interest Rate: 180 Day LIBOR (taken as 5%) plus 2%

Fees: Management Fee of 1 % flat per quarter
Upfront Fees which all add up to which i1.5% (one-off)

Hello everyone, hope bodi dey
I use UBA as my stockbrokers through their NRN services for nigerians abroad and came across this. It appears to be updated everyday, the thing I like about it is that it breaks it down in an easy to read chart for supply and demand.
http://www.ubagroup.com/stockbrokers/docs/stockrecomendation.pdf

Many folks here will be excited to see their trusted see Wema bank grin as huge demand low supply, other notable companies to the list are Nig-german, WAPCO, CAP, JB, Conoil, University Press etc

@ololufemi, abeg chill small now, Ovia no be God, abi na u be the son of his sister's brother's cousin?? huh

this is great news! Insurance makes up close to 40% of my portfolio. Cant wait for 2008!!

Are folks noticing anything with Nig-German?? noticing from my portfolio that its been inching slowly past few weeks, looking at the graph, it appears its poised to be in right position to have a break out 1st Quarter 2008. Its about 17% of my portfolio, I might try and bring it closer to 20%

kai una do well to purchase WEMA, all that was way too risky for me esp from over here, it'd take my brokers 2-3 days to sell, so didnt want to risk it.
I'm just so happy, received word that my UBA brokers were able to get more Costain shares for me Thursday b4 the TS. I had sent purchase order late Tuesday so wasnt sure, now I'm sitting tight because I had a whole bunch before. Matter of fact COSTAIN is now 55% of my portfolio grin
Already have my strategy for the bullish run post TS, plan on selling 50-60% of it, because I'll purchase big from PO anyway. Any other strategy recommendation? Thanks

You now have to say your daily prayers that the cut-off date to qualify for the rights issue will extend to this week and even beyond. grin

Interesting thing I found.

Japaul went on TS on July 10th but to qualify for rights issue you must be on the register on July 6th which means you must have bought latest on July 3rd which is 7 days before the TS.

On the other hand Fidelity went on TS on 27th July but accommodated shareholders on the books as at 20th August for the rights issue. This is over 3 weeks after the TS.

So who knows, even if one buys Costain next week, one may still qualify for rights issue. grin Afterall the prospectus is not yet out. Anyone with this scoop?

The 30% is too sweet for man to pass by o,
Wow didnt know that one, thx for sharing
