wirinet:This is exactly what I have been saying; for goodness sake why must you close your mind to reading and reasoning; why must you ignore or twist issues even though made clear as light and day? I have repeatedly explained that Sharia applies to Muslims only; while Hisbah is authorised to enforce it in ADDITION to some moral laws including consumption of alcohol. Pls tell me which part of the 3rd paragraph of my last post did you not understand (reproduced here below) As already mentioned, Hisbah was introduced in affected states to enforce Sharia laws on Muslims only alongside some moral laws on the generality of the citizenry - including the much misunderstood prohibition of alcohol (which was not enacted under Sharia law, as most of you misconstrue). For the last time, pls note that Hisbah is NOT security based; they are not even armed and therefore cannot protect anyone from physical threat. The excesses of the herdsmen is indeed a threat and a menace to everyone; it is therefore reasonable for Nigerians to expect and complain when govt protection fails them; at the same time the law does not allow individuals or state govts to resort to self help in the manner in which the SW governors are approaching this problem - because there is always the danger that such outfits can easily be hijacked or get out of control and therefore mushroom to something never imagined or intended before (e.g. an ethnic supremacist witch hunting or separatist machinery) in view of which no govt will sit back and fold its arm at such possibility. |
wirinet:I am glad you enjoyed your NYSC days and felt the love of Sokoto in those days. I can assure you that, although Nigeria of the 80's cannot be the same the same today; however, not much has changed in terms of your fundamental rights since then. Southerners and Christianity continue to thrive in Sokoto (and by extension, most of the Muslim north) without fear or molestation. Having said that; unfortunately, most of you southerners will continue to disagree because of your innate tendency to always view any issue or move by northerners from your narrow ethno-religious perspective: Arabic letters on our currency notes and military insignia (introduced by the British); herdsmen attacking and killing more Muslims/northerners; Boko Haram attacking and killing more Muslims; Sharia which applies to Muslims only ........and so on, are all being deliberately misinterpreted as Islamisation/Fulanisation agenda by southern political losing elites in order to curry more favour/relevance and support from their apparently gullible lot. As already mentioned, Hisbah was introduced in affected states to enforce Sharia laws on Muslims only alongside some moral laws on the generality of the citizenry - including the much misunderstood prohibition of alcohol (which was not enacted under Sharia law, as most of you misconstrue). On the other hand; Amotekun (as you even admitted in your post) is intentionally being set up by the SW states as a security outfit - SECURITY being the key word here; which clearly fall within the exclusive list and therefore outside the responsibility of the state/regional governments. I will advise your governments to key into the existing FG defence structure (police, military etc) in a collaborative way e.t.c. JTF rather than going it alone - which is illegal. |
wirinet:If you could read and understand, you would have notice in my 1st post where I stated under where Hisbah fell - comparing Amotekun with Hisbah is like comparing apples with oranges and smacks of ignorance. BTW, what do you think J in JTF stood for? |
darediamond:Like I said, go to court and prove your case - meanwhile, keep your tribal bigotry to yourself. |
myobjective:I have no cause to waste time and energy arguing with someone who is clearly driven by emotions rather than logic. The FG has already made its declaration and given its reasons why; however, if and your leaders think otherwise, then kindly sue the AGF/FG to court to prove your case. |
Captainrambo2:The interpretation of the law is not a northern matter; you governors did not do their homework, they did not check the constitution and clearly over stepped their executive boundaries; despite the array of lawyers they would have had at their behest - pls do not blame northerners for their blunder. Do not also confuse Hisbah which is entirely different, set by relevant states to enforce religious and moral codes against Amotekun currently set up by the SW regional states as a defence outfit - which (defence) clearly fall within the exclusive list and therefore outside the jurisdiction of state governments. It is purely a legal issue and not a regional matter - if in doubt, let your governors challenge it in court. |
Enwhen:Your comment is just as ignorant as his - no difference. |
They are confused and hard of choice; they don't know what they want.
|
BlackSeptember:Very ignorant statement. In the same vein, how about your village ppl still chopping human beings - say no to Cannibalism, bigotry and ignorance. |
Perkins2018:Pls answer these questions: does the qualifying requirement for those top jobs you mentioned depend on tribe? Was the president in violation of the constitution in these appointments? Were the specific positions you mentioned the only top jobs available or a few among others simply to mislead others into believing your skewed perception of the reality on ground. Vanguard, a known anti Buhari newspaper, published the article, stating otherwise; yet you are still here yarning dust - its seems like some ppl are born to wail. Get this straight: northerners are not afraid of separation nor will they fall for this cheap southern blackmail; in fact they were the 1st to request for it (in the 1966 riots); however, it was your forefather, Nnamdi Azikiwe, who wanted and insisted on the non inclusion of a secession clause in our 1st constitution. Recall, it was not so long ago after their patience was tested that they felt obliged to give some ppl quit notice - we also can remember how the same set of ppl were running helter skelter soon afterwards (cap in hand) suing for peace. I repeat, northerners are not afraid of de-amalgamation - the Lamido of Adamawa has already spoken for them during the constitutional conference under GEJ; we are ready for it whenever it comes. |
Educated but stupid and apparently quite ignorant. How can the use of an alphabetic system, in this case Arabic connote adoption of a religion? Those insignia and inscriptions could have equally been written in Hebrew, Indian or Russian alphabets and still mean the same thing. Our colonial masters, the British, (who are also Christians) introduced the tradition without any bias or tilt towards any religion - yet our intolerant Islamaphobic Christian brothers continue to espouse hatred and bigotry in their ignorant opposition to these inscriptions/symbols; while deliberately misleading/inciting others into hatred. |
Not surprised at all; these ppl have the capacity to hate like no man's business. |
Bombshell! Buhari haters I dey feel una pain.
|
Sweeetheart:Wetin bring northern Nigeria for this matter? Why not ask yourself why are your ppl attracting such backlash reactions within and outside Nigeria; from Ghana, Togo, Kenya, SA, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Amelica - in fact, all over the world? The sooner you ppl start doing something about your bad hateful and criminal attitude as well as taking responsibility for your own actions (instead of blaming others) the better. |
Perkins2018:Shifting the goalpost as expected: When confronted with evidence contrary to your false claim that Buhari was always replacing southerners with northerners; you conveniently ignored it. When asked whether the qualifying requirement for these post was the appointee's tribe and not his suitability; yet again you conveniently avoided the question. After giving you further evidence that showed Buhari actually favoured southerners than northerners; you suddenly shifted to oh no, " We are talking of major appointments and not the compulsory ministerial appointments" - as if you didn't read this part of the article. ....And 124 high profile political appointments comprising special advisers, senior special assistants, and special assistants to the president were made out of which 59 were from the Northern region and 65 were from the South. This number excludes 36 ministers who are statutorily appointed one each from a state ........the relatively higher number of such high-profile appointments from the North made between 2015 and 2016 (Buhari’s early days in office), tended to give the incorrect impression that the North retained an unfair share of the appointments to date. Kebbi, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Plateau, FCT, Bayelsa, Ebonyi have zero appointments of presidential aides and thus will not even appear in the chart. Adamawa and Kano top the list with 11 each; while Oyo follows with 10; Ogun nine; Lagos and Kaduna, eight each; and Katsina, seven .........A reliable source who refused to be named said: “The President has been severely criticised for so-called lopsided appointments in favour of the North, but the facts hardly support this view.” Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/appointments-buhari-favoured-south-more-than-north-records/ Of course, you will continue to argue with the facts (as many of you do) from your usual skewed narrow biased perspective and spread same through heavily dominated media houses. Unfortunately, tribal and regional politics is the bane of you southerners; the more you espouse it the more you succeed in uniting the northerners, and the more they will beat you hands down because they will always have the numbers. |
These food vendors na wa o! They use Sniper to preserve beans, embalming fluid (formaldehyde) to enhance kpomo; now paracetamol and bleach to tenderise meat and whiten gari respectively - it's no wonder everyone is getting cancer, kidney disease and many other ailments. |
Donexy16:Lol, abi oO! - no taste, no class. |
Perkins2018:Assuming, but not conceding, what you said was true; kindly tell me whether the overriding qualifying criteria for these positions is tribe and not suitability? BTW, your above assertion is wrong, find below some examples where Buhari replaced northerners with southerners: Solomon Dalung (Plateau) was replaced with Sunday Dare (Oyo) Abubakar Bawa Bwari replaced with Dr Ikechukwu Ogah (Abia) Suleiman Hassan (Gombe) replaced with Sharon Ikeazor (Anambra) In fact contrary to the popular ongoing propaganda, close analysis of PMB's appointments showed that he actually favoured southerners more than northerners - unfortunately, southerners like you will continue to wail and spread this falsehood through their media out of mischief and sheer hatred for the president. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/appointments-buhari-favoured-south-more-than-north-records/ |
Decorated but apparently CORRUPT. |
Starboytwo:You are reasoning with your emotions not logic and therefore being selfish. All your siblings and your late father's wives are entitled to their their legitimate share of their inheritance. You are apparently living and benefitting rent free from the house and therefore reluctant to let go - alongside your emotional attachment to it. You have 3 basic options: If the property is large enough, then it can be physically divided so that every heir may inherit and do as he/she pleases with his/her share. If you have enough money, then you can offer to buy the rest out - subject to their consent. Otherwise, the majority interest should prevail over your minority rights; most courts would uphold their right to sell the property and give you your legitimate share of the proceeds. |
thatigboman:No, I missed it; apparently because the Okeke's will always dominate and outshine the others to irrelevance. ![]() |
destinie2019:The "born to wail" will always exhibit their syndrome no matter illogical they may appear. |
Pedrotina11:No mind them; they must wail to justify their victim mentality. |
Perkins2018:I doubt you truly believed that myopic logic you just posted. |
OhiOfIhima:More likely Oyel money than boko haram, the guy was posted to NDDC for 3yrs between 2016 - 2019 - where persin fit award himself up to 300 contracts with full payment and zero performance (he could easily also have been involved in bunkering). |
Awol1:So the minister should wait and not act against them until he finds a Hausa equivalent (while Nigerians suffer) in order to satisfy your myopic tribal bigotry. |
Looking more like an uncultivated bush than a farm. |
Same FFK said, "It is the Igbo people more than any other that have complained about marginalisation in Nigeria, forgetting that there is no other country in the world in which there was a major civil war and yet only 10 years after that war ended the losing side produced the Vice President for the whole country in a democratic election in 1979 in the distinguished person of Vice President Alex Ekwueme" Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/06/bitter-truth-igbo-femi-fani-kayode/ |
What is new; cannibalism is their way. |
Hisbah arrested a policemen frolicking with 3 girls in a hotel in Zamfara and the hypocrites rushed to the thread insulting northerners and the religion of Islam as backward; now that the same Hisbah has arrested a bunch of homosexuals in Kano; they have suddenly lost their voices. |
