I'd never understand the brain behind religious overzealousness.
The job is not yours,

But you need both yet you won't conform.

Who are you then?
Even typical guest decorum demands that you abide by the dictates of your host.

It is the frigging U.S of A for fvck's sake. If your employer askes you not to wipe your arse after using the toilet.
Please do it with all joy and even smear some of it on your face to show full compliance.

Only people who forget where they are coming from are in a hurry to get sent back to Nigeria for avoidable reasons.

I once overhead a mom tell her children after they gatecrashed an event, 'eat o, you know as house be!!'
And ever since, no matter where I am, I never forget that home is Nigeria.
Sadly home is hell for most of us that we'd rather lick our fingers after packing shiit in elderly homes of organized, functional countries than live lavish in Banana Island.

So OP, I hope by home, you mean back in the hinterlands of Agbede where she can wear her hijab without any criticisms.
If you had not been overzealous yourself into rushing to the wrong conclusion you would have noticed that the company had apologised to her.
Yes it is frigging USA and so what?
Just because it is America so foreigners should forego their rights to freedom of religion?
Fortunately it is America where such freedom is guaranteed; unlike some closed minded ppl here in Nigeria who always want to deny Muslims their fundamental right to religious expression - here are some examples religious tolerance in American and British police dress codes.

Those arewa youths re jst mumu jare, even my own i will do pass that... No b my wife to be?
I am sorry to say, its either you are not a Muslim or otherwise the one who is truly a hypocrite because there is nowhere in the teachings of Islam where any physical contact between lovers such as the above depicted embrace (even if betrothed) is permissible.

What we are witnessing is the advertising of a sin pure and simple, an unfortunate watering down of Islamic values in the name of advancement.

Sooner or later many of you sellouts who have apparently lowered your moral values (in favour of alien ones) will start behaving like the non-Muslims who nowadays insist on impregnating their female partners before marriage - not minding the many bastards they are bringing into this world in name of children.

Feel free to continue throwing away your values but do not resort to the bigotry of insulting those that hold fast to theirs by calling them mumu - it is quite unbecoming.

wirinet:
It's you people that are intolerant, ignorant, stupid and hypocritical. How else do you impose your religious belief on others who are not muslims in a secular country.

Who told you that the respondents are all Christians, there are other religions in Nigeria outside Christianity and Islam. Some people do not profess any religion at all, like the owner of this site.

Who is hostile to your rights of Muslims to practice sharia? It's you people that wants to impose sharia on non muslims. If you practice sharia in your homes, communities or even states, what's my concern, as long as it applies to only muslims. it's when you bring it to my house, business or private space that I will react.

It is unconstitutional to impose sharia on non muslims. The Constitution guarantees freedom of movement and religion. If guarantees my right to eat pork, drink beer, fvck any woman ( as long as she consents ) any where within Nigeria, as long as it's in the privacy of my own home or private space, and I do not do it in your private space.

Now if you don't want a Republic where pork and beer is not allowed, then start agitating peacefully (like IPOB ) for an Islamic Republic. If I want to come to zamfara, I will have to apply for visa. It's against natural justice for my taxes and resources to be shared in a state, I am not accorded my freedom of movement and religion.
You unfortunately espouse all I had said in my last post.

First of all, I didn't say all the respondents were Christians but referred to MANY of the Christian respondents (big difference) - its a matter of basic comprehension; which apparently seemed to have evaded you.

I repeat, Sharia is consistent with the constitution (under the right to freedom of religion); if it wasn't, then hostile groups like CAN and many of your ilk would have already challenged it in court; however, if you still insist otherwise, kindly therefore quote the section of the constitution which rendered it illegal.

Stop telling lies; no body or state in Nigeria is imposing their religious belief, including Islam or sharia on any non believer in the country; however, that does not stop any govt (FG, state or LG) from enacting legitimate laws through their respective legislative organs for the overall benefit of the ppl - whether some like or not.

Get this straight; Sharia had, is and will continue to apply to Muslims alone; in states where it is being implemented it is run as a parallel alternative for Muslims; non Muslims are not bound by it - stop using mere conjectures to suggest otherwise.

Wrong; the constitution does not guarantee you the right to drink, eat or otherwise use anything you want, in fact there are limits to this and govts from time to time make appropriate laws to control what we can eat or drink; otherwise, some ppl may even feel entitled to eat other human beings (as some illegally do).

Stop lying, as far as I am aware; no sharia state has placed a ban against non Muslims from eating pork - e.g. go to Sabon Gari Market, Kano and you will see pork on display; in fact not too long ago there was even a famous piggery along Hadejia Rd in the said state.

As for alcohol; the ban in those states were not enacted in law under the Sharia penal code but under their general penal codes - much in the same way that currently the FG banned ogogoro (after increasing cases of blindness caused by adulteration with methyl alcohol).

Neither can you fvck anyone you like (even with her consent) e.g. incest is illegal in Nigeria and so is prostitution - even in saner climes like America, raids are being carried out against brothels; while anyone can caught or arrested for soliciting.

Finally, if you cannot tolerate the rights of Muslims to Sharia and in consequence want to agitate for secession, pls feel free to do so; meanwhile you must be prepared to respect and accept legitimate local laws wherever you happen to find yourself (from Zamfara to Onitsha) or otherwise stay put in wherever you feel more comfortable.
PoliticsRe: Zamfara hisbah arrests policeman ‘for being with 3 women' in hotel by NaMeAboki: 6:46am On Jan 01, 2020
I am dumbfounded by the level of intolerance, ignorance, stupidity and hypocrisy being advertised by many of the Christian respondents in this thread:

- Intolerance because many are inexplicably hostile to the rights of Muslims to sharia - a law which for almost all intents and purposes does not concern them at all.
- Ignorance because most still believe that Sharia is unconstitutional and therefore operating outside the law.
- Stupidity because many seem to believe that Muslim policemen are somehow exempted from prosecution when the break the Sharia code - as in this case.
- Hypocrisy because those criticising the arrest along with the religion of Islam would not bat an eyelid had the said policeman been arrested for engaging in gay party; notwithstanding that fornication (hetero & homosexual) are also forbidden in the the Christian scripture; even as pastors and priests continue to be among the highest offenders; such ppl see no cause to criticise Christianity but will be quick to castigate Islam for the crime/sins of a few of its adherents - what a shame.

Maduawuchukwu:
First and foremost, Protests to ensure the resignation of government are not and cannot be illegal. They are part and parcel of the Democratic process. Have you seen anybody arrested in the US for participating in the "not my President" Protests? Trying to say Sowore tried to illegally overthrow the government is simply being mischevious.

Secondly even if Sowore's intention was treasonable, which is clearly not,he still should not be charged with treason as he did not take any covert step to achieve a treasonable action. Having the "potential" to commit a crime can never be a basis to convict one of a crime.

In your post on what constitutes treason in the USA, I saw use of "Force or Violence" clearly stated there. Protests are not classified as use of Force under Nigerian laws or the laws of any Democratic society sef. So that provision if imported to Nigeria cannot apply to Sowore's case.
Lastly, even if Sowore violated his bail terms,it is not for the DSS to determine and rearrest him. The DSS ought to take it to the courts to determine and revoke his bail after which he can be rearrested. That is basic law that you supporters of Buhari have refused to acknowledge because of your brain dead support for Buhari.
Go back and read or watch as he threatened Nigeria with revolution comparable to Puerto Rico, Algeria, Sudan Cuba etc. which all share a common aim of overthrowing the government.

Sowore was also very clear when said his revolution would be different from mere protests; with the aim of bundling Buhari out of office (does that sound like ensuring the president's resignation?) - only you seem to think otherwise.

Note that in a democratic system such as in Nigeria, the only legitimate way to choose or change a government is through the ballot box; Sowore had that opportunity and woefully failed.

He therefore cannot use the backdoor to achieve the same purpose through a purported revolution - whether peaceful or otherwise.

When it comes to national security, by the time you are allowed to carry out your threat, it's already too late; no intelligence or law enforcement agency would wait for that to happen; in fact you'd be promptly arrested once sufficient cause is established - pre-emptive strike/action is a doctrine of national security and crime prevention.

Go to court and listen to how ppl are charged with intent to commit various crimes, ranging from murder, subversion of justice etc.

Treasonable crimes according to the Nigerian constitution:
(1) Whoever intends -

(a) To remove otherwise than by constitutional means during his term or office-

(i) The President of the Federal Republic; or

(ii) The Governor of any State of the Federal Republic;

http://www.nigerianlawschoolstudents.com/what-is-forgery/

Lastly, there is no law or existing court order stopping the DSS from further arresting Sowore on fresh new charges - get this clear and stop confusing the issue.
Foreign AffairsRe: Court Rules British MI5 Agents Can Murder, Kidnap And Torture by NaMeAboki:
Maduawuchukwu:
Even going by that your argument, you still sound lame. Can you compare Sowore who "called" for a revolution to change Government with Alqaeda or ISIS? Who did Sowore kill? If Sowore calling for a protest is against national security then don't you think anybody who opposes the government of the day can be dubbed a national security threat and kept in jail? Secondly, Sowore is a Nigerian whose rights are protected by the Nigerian Constitution and so the Nigeria Government cannot treat him like how the US treated Alqaeda terrorists who are not American terrorists.
Pls free yourself from your seemingly imprisoned shallow mind and narrow perspective and subsequently face the true realities on the ground.

A person does not have to kill anyone to pose a threat to national govts; neither does his or his group's modus operandi matter in that respect - both Al-Qaeda and Sowore were national threats to the American and Nigerian govts respectively.

Al-Qaeda are basically against American foreign policy and its influence in their own lands and way of life; they were never an immediate threat to American democracy or government; yet their fighters were pick up in their own countries and imprisoned without trial for simply violently opposing American foreign interest.

On the other hand, Sowore having participated and woefully failed in the democratic process of presidential election, commenced a process to illegally topple a legitimately elected govt of the people; including openly conniving with an already declared exiled enemy of the state; neither could he be considered ignorant of the implications of his proposed actions - based on his repeated utterances.

In Nigeria, Sowore was taken to court and even granted bail for which he immediately violated right there in the court house by giving press statements soon after his bail release - this is contrary to worldwide norms for a person charged with treasonable felony where bail is not granted.

No, Sowore was not organising ordinary protests but a revolution with a mission to illegally sack a democratically elected sitting govt. - his words:

I AM NOT TALKING OF PROTESTS. I'M EMBARKING ON REVOLUTION. 85% OF NIGERIANS ARE IN SUPPORT. DON'T TELL ME ABOUT LEGAL IMPLICATIONS OR WHAT A JUDGE WOULD SAY, I DON'T CARE...WE MUST BUNDLE BUHARI OUT OF THAT PLACE.......THE DSS SHALL SEIZE TO EXIST ....Sowore on July 25 2019.

The above cannot be considered empty threats; because we all know that Sowore has the capacity (his Sahara Reporters media house) to mobilise ppl as well as the potential to secure hidden backers to sponsor his illegal revolution/coup against a legitimate govt.

BTW, compare American law and punishment for revolution against Sowore's actions.

WHAT IS THE PENALTY (PUNISHMENT) FOR CALLING FOR A REVOLUTION IN THE U.S

When it comes to national security, human rights take 2nd place; countries (like USA & UK etc) that traditionally tout such rights merely pay lip service to it but secretly deal with any threats as ruthlessly as they wish.
Guantanamo prisoners were Al-Qaeda fighters picked up (literally kidnapped) fighting in their own countries (not even on American soil) subsequently labelled as Enemy Combatants, then shipped to prison in Guantanamo Bay, where they had remained for years and never for once been charged for any offence let alone had a day in court to defend themselves; simply because the US govt feels they pose a threat to its national security - Sowere and Kanu were even luckier in Nigeria to have been charged and even granted bail compared to those prisoners.
