Please, don't misquote the Bible. The verses quoted has to do with believers settling dispute or matters in the court when it can be done amongst believers as it only brings ridicules to the name of God. E.g power tussle in the church and other spiritual issues which should have been handled by the church.

@OP, marriage started with the instruction that "for this reason shall a man leave his father's house and BE JOINED to his wife". "BE JOINED" means there must be someone in between to agree that these two can be one.

Now, this means if both parents agree (Traditional) to the union, it is fine. If it is by the laws of the land (Registry), it is fine and if this is done by church, it is also okay. The key is that someone must do the joining.

Firstly, just to correct a view - that you find some things in the Bible doesn't make it scriptural or Biblical. Just like the erroneous view of the days of man being 70years, God's view is 120 years. Both can be found in the Bible.

Back to the major issue, the Bible verse cited is a parable and not to mean an Aso-ebi gathering.

God answers prayers and if you follow these two Biblical principles it will help a lot. Asides from faith in God, you need the following:

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

1John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

2. Confidence

The two requirements asides faith isn't the physical type but drawing strength from what God has said in His word and then approaching Him based on this.

What exactly is your point, OP? I don't think OAU is as strict with their postgraduate programs as they were, years ago. I know of so many people who completed their MSc research programs within 4 semesters and PhD in 6 semesters in the last few years, on that same campus. OAU is not UI or UNILAG where they do short-term projects and mass defence for MSc candidate. In OAU, you do MSc by research which is the style in American and Canadian universities and not the British style adopted by UI & UNILAG. And if your thesis is not examinable, your supervisor will not clear you for defence. It doesn't matter if your class mates have been cleared by their own supervisors.

OAU is only good for research-minded candidates and not those who will want to do their research as if they were part time students, the moment they complete their course works. Such candidates may consider UNILAG or UI.

Shut up!!! Don't tarnish the image of other schools because you want to prove a point. I am sure you have not been to any of the two schools you mentioned before you started spewing rubbish here. Do you have any idea how some people are being delayed in both schools you mentioned due to their research (project)?
Do you know the extent some students go in these schools just to have a successful and comprehensive research?
If you have no idea of these, just shut up. That some people finish theirs on time doesn't mean same doesn't happen in OAU too. So, please stop glorifying what needs further clarification on.

Anyone who watched the YouTube video of the statement made by the Pastor during the just concluded Ministers' retreat will know that there are serious issues. 2. If done in church, was there marriage counseling prior to wedding?

I think this is misleading in a way. The headline should be changed to maybe water claimed to be drinking water. A Potable (not portable) water is the water free from pathogens, bacteria and other contaminants which is safe for drinking.

You will realise that the book of life is just a book which contains names of people who will enter heaven while the other books contains records of how everyone spent his or her life.

Accepting Christ retains the name but rejecting Him, means one's name will be blotted out of the book of life. It all goes down to relationship with God.

In response to your enquiries, the book of life contains names of everyone who is meant for heaven.

God's purpose for mankind is that all should be saved through the death and resurrection of Christ. God's plan is for ALL to be saved.

Based on this, everyone's name is written in the book of life either you are a Christian, Muslim or Pagan. We can retain our names in the book of life or get it removed at the point we accept or reject Christ. It is therefore a wrong teaching to say God will write one's name in the book of life when you accept Christ. You only retain your name there as it has been written a long time ago.

So, it's a matter of relationship with God.
