zionmde:Please, don't misquote the Bible. The verses quoted has to do with believers settling dispute or matters in the court when it can be done amongst believers as it only brings ridicules to the name of God. E.g power tussle in the church and other spiritual issues which should have been handled by the church. @OP, marriage started with the instruction that "for this reason shall a man leave his father's house and BE JOINED to his wife". "BE JOINED" means there must be someone in between to agree that these two can be one. Now, this means if both parents agree (Traditional) to the union, it is fine. If it is by the laws of the land (Registry), it is fine and if this is done by church, it is also okay. The key is that someone must do the joining. |
holuwajobar:You are taking sides. One landed in the hospital and seriously been looked after by the Doctor on duty while the other is strolling the street of Ife. |
Wirelessmic:Fashola on the other hand, got to Federal level and also repeated the same act. If not for the then Acting President, Osinbajo this wouldn't have been approved. |
He said it is based on the revelation he had and that he might be wrong. Hmmmm.... I see confusion here. If this revelation is from God, He (God) cannot contradict Himself. His word gives a clear position on this issue |
Firstly, just to correct a view - that you find some things in the Bible doesn't make it scriptural or Biblical. Just like the erroneous view of the days of man being 70years, God's view is 120 years. Both can be found in the Bible. Back to the major issue, the Bible verse cited is a parable and not to mean an Aso-ebi gathering. |
God answers prayers and if you follow these two Biblical principles it will help a lot. Asides from faith in God, you need the following: Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. 1. You need boldness 1John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 2. Confidence The two requirements asides faith isn't the physical type but drawing strength from what God has said in His word and then approaching Him based on this. Remember, He honours His word. God bless you |
Your life is more important before God for any blessing to come your way and next to it is giving to God because He is God and not for any other reason. |
emmasege:Shut up!!! Don't tarnish the image of other schools because you want to prove a point. I am sure you have not been to any of the two schools you mentioned before you started spewing rubbish here. Do you have any idea how some people are being delayed in both schools you mentioned due to their research (project)? Do you know the extent some students go in these schools just to have a successful and comprehensive research? If you have no idea of these, just shut up. That some people finish theirs on time doesn't mean same doesn't happen in OAU too. So, please stop glorifying what needs further clarification on. |
angels09:Can you just stop this hate speech? If you look into this issue very well you will understand better that this is an inherited problem from the previous government and not just something that started from him. |
swegiedon:Read your Bible in context and don't just lift a word |
swegiedon:If you read your Bible well, you will realize who Christ was referring to as gods and why He said so. When you read this well, you will understand why He had to reference the book of Psalms in this matter. I am not a god, so don't include everyone else in this matter. I am not one of those Bible verse lifters who forget to contextualize the scripture but read to suit themselves |
Hmmmm..... Oba Awon University in deed. Chai!!! |
hope4life:Thanks. I thought I was alone on this. |
ogologoamu:I guess you haven't listened to Bro. Gbile Akanni. Just the title 'Bro' should speak so much. That man preaches righteousness undiluted and his discipleship classes are the best. I have never known of any other whose followers genuinely practice what the scriptures says in terms of Christ-like lifestyle, like those from Bro. Gbile's ministry. |
danielicon:Must you ask for forgiveness before this is given? Christians with personal ideologies while they throw away the standard - THE BIBLE (God's Word). |
SmartchoicesNG:Please, stop exposing the type of school you went to. It shows that the school you went to is same as ABU in operation. Didn't you read the part where it was said that a core course and other courses were not passed? Hence, carryovers and yet, you could still talk about HOD's right to write-off all these carryovers just for one person to graduate. Please, stop exposing your school here. |
Anyone who watched the YouTube video of the statement made by the Pastor during the just concluded Ministers' retreat will know that there are serious issues. For a Pastor to call fellow humans created by God, demons because they weren't loyal to him during his trials shows that he learnt his act from someone else other than Christ Jesus. I thought the Bible was the standard for every Christian but this Apostle made me ask if he reads something else. |
lofty900:You also should keep shut. When you've read the same Bible well, you can then talk on this matter. Men who misquote the Bible just for selfish motives. |
I think reading in between the lines will raise some questions on this matter. 1. Based on his Christian values, was the wedding done in church? 2. If done in church, was there marriage counseling prior to wedding? 3. If marriage counseling was done, didn't they carry out test? 4. if any test result was presented, did they both worked on presenting fake results? I guess the husband with Christian values needs to answer this |
They tell us how Osinbajo is not performing better than Mr. President but keep emphasizing how the V. P us more of a figure head, receiving instructions from Mr. President. Who is fooling who? We see a better difference and yet the go to press just to spew rubbish. May God help this Country |
Hmmmm..... cool pictures. Wow!!! Baptist guys |
I think this is misleading in a way. The headline should be changed to maybe water claimed to be drinking water. A Potable (not portable) water is the water free from pathogens, bacteria and other contaminants which is safe for drinking. @op, kindly take note and correct accordingly. |
They are just sick celebs who are just concerned about the attache business without any concern for their country and her progress. |
What change have they fulfilled? Exchange rate has changed to N498 per Dollar Cost of goods have experienced an upward change Power has changed from bad to worse Cost of living is nothing to talk about We never knew this was the change they talked about. The change where the masses isn't their concern. Enough is enough, we don't want this change again. |
She is not in Nigeria and she is speaking for Nigerians. We should engage with something productive while our government policies ruin the productive works again? Enough is enough, we are tired of this government. |
We are not standing with Buhari as the hardship is too much due to poor economic policies. We say no to the government who isn't concerned about the masses anymore. |
They want to stand with Buhari till every citizen is gone. Some people are wicked, self-centred and have no love for the country. They stand with Buhari to wipe off corruption but we got a revelation through senate sitting that the state house have been deceiving the whole nation requesting for yearly Catering utensils, Computers and equipment amounting to millions of Naira. May God help us in this country as we have wicked people who are satisfied with how expensive things are. Almost everything has its attachment to exchange rate which is nothing to smile about anymore. This is sad when our leaders need to realise that the masses aren't happy anymore and we just have to say now that enough is enough. We are tired of this hardship due to poor government policies. Power is now worse as we hear daily of power collapse. May God help us and save us from wicked people who want to stand with hardship till all are dead in the country. |
Milonis:Quoting that scripture by some Christians only show that they read the Bible upside down. Turning the other cheek doesn't mean we literally allow a wrong to continue but it means, don't retaliate which is different from self-defense. |
ADEWUMIMichael:This is not about the constituted authority bowing to anyone as the students were uncivilized and acted in disrespectful manner. This is the case of the government acting right to save the fate of the students. |
SweetJoystick:Read Revelations 20:12 carefully - And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. You will realise that the book of life is just a book which contains names of people who will enter heaven while the other books contains records of how everyone spent his or her life. |
SweetJoystick:Accepting Christ retains the name but rejecting Him, means one's name will be blotted out of the book of life. It all goes down to relationship with God. Remember, John 3:16 is a simply guide. |
In response to your enquiries, the book of life contains names of everyone who is meant for heaven. God's purpose for mankind is that all should be saved through the death and resurrection of Christ. God's plan is for ALL to be saved. Based on this, everyone's name is written in the book of life either you are a Christian, Muslim or Pagan. We can retain our names in the book of life or get it removed at the point we accept or reject Christ. It is therefore a wrong teaching to say God will write one's name in the book of life when you accept Christ. You only retain your name there as it has been written a long time ago. So, it's a matter of relationship with God. I will back this up with the following Biblical references: Exodus 32:32 Luke 10:20 Revelation 21:27 Revelation 20:15 2 Peter 3:9 |
