shiki:
shocked the cost of protection is too high that the consumers can't bear the load
Exactly!
There is no factory that can produce at the current cost of production. No business can run! Aside import of raw material cost. The major cost is power generation. How can diesel be 1600, ₦1800 per liter for God's sake? Is is that these people in government do not realize generators, trucking uses diesel? If small scale businesses eg hotels, factories, schools are spending 300-400k on diesel daily, how much is there revenue, not to talk of profit?
Let me put in on context, those small 30liters keg of diesel cost ₦48,000!
If a large hotel or factory runs just 1 unit of 1000kva generator, it cost ₦266,000 to run that generator for just 1hr. If it runs for 20hrs in a day ie ₦5,760,000 daily! What will they produce that anyone can buy for goodness sake?
Anyway, Emilokan and his cohorts have never ran any know business before, all they did was tax in Lagos and got wealthy, hence the saying wealth without enterprise.

Lies. a broke man can blow, but a LovePeddler is a LovePeddler for life.
Broke man can blow? Na so e easy? A "LovePeddler" stands better chance than a broke man. A woman can nack the right person and poverty is gone for life from her family. Many years ago, my hommie was getting married, it was during his bachelors eve party, another guy that attended was shocked to recognize the lady. He codedly told us, about 9 months before, he and the guy went clubbing at Ikeja, they picked up two oloshos to party with. Since then they had not seen.
Guess what? It was that olosho my paddy got married to. Back then, he rented a 3 bedroom flat for the parents, opened shop for her mother.
Woman matter, never underestimate them ohh. If you were in Bodija those days you will know one rich lonely widower, that saw one of those shuwa Arab beggers, started inviting the young beautiful daughter, before you know, driver was chauffeuring her around, like play, belle enter, like play teacher started teaching her, like play she fly go London go born, like play she become big madam. Stunning classy beauty last I heared.

michlins:
Are we not still paying subsidy now or not?

Where is the money coming from and who is funding it
Good question.
For the first time we had challenge yesterday buying diesel to run our operations. Anyway we bought 200l at 1600 per liter ie ₦320,000,i I wrote, that diesel is exhausted. It lasted 24 hrs! Mote part of our operations is on break so we are not running full generators.
What business will survive like this? As it seem, we are not using profit, we practically burnt out our whole capital on diesel. Our income is not covering 50% of our diesel cost monthly!

There's no smoke without fire.
EFCC don't visit houses if there's no cause for that.
Even houses harbouring yahoo boys are not often visited except there's an intelligent report.
EFCC is not like police. Otherwise I know houses that ought to have been raided long ago.

How can a student whose parents are struggling to foot his academic bills suddenly own a large boutique?

If you like keep defending them until you fall into their trap. Dem go chop you without mercy.
While agreeing with you, you must realize that in Nigeria, things make no sense, if you ever visited the UK embassy those days when they did one to one interview you will hear oyinbo tell you to state your income as it is, both the coded and legit ones, because they know Nigerians always have "other means" of income, especially goverment officials.
You ask how a student from a struggling home can own a boutique, I will ask you how a man without any known industry, business, factory etc can have billions and trillions of money, can own jets, have 10 pounds mansion in London, France, $3m flats for young student kids, also become oga at the top.
Same what you will ask how those security people that raided the hostels can live the lifestyle they do, own properties, drive exotic cars, fly abroad on vacations etc based on their salaries.

Omo, if you have video evidence of the assault ie cctv, phone recording etc do not dull, be focused. Some sharp guy will get his paddy to make the injuries more pronounced (if you know you know). Take lots of pictures of your damaged properties, some will also "enhance" the damage.
Go to a government hospital and get a treated, if possible make sure you are admitted. Get medical report. Go and incident or report it at a police station. Next is to get a good lawyer. Some processes will happen eg writing to the agency that assaulted you and destroyed your whole house filled with personal effect worth "huge" amount. Making certain demand from them or they face legal issues. All this is to "build" case. Finally, it is to land heavy law suit especially for breach of fundamental human rights. If I recall right, such cases have a 3 months time frame for adjudication.
Who knows, this assault may be your bus pass or meal ticket out of poverty. cool
Nb: omo, I just saw the video of the slap, aka abara, the sweeping kick, aka ifase.
If this is not a cleanout in millions of hot cash, I wonder what it is. See potentials grin

Why didn't you do it during your eight years tenure?

Destroyer of our democracy.

Baba 3rd term who started legislative colossal corruption with Ghana must go.

He go pay debt when infrastructure is at grand zero.

Pathetic!!!
Common sense should tell you that Obj took over from years of military rule, you do not make such heavy decisions immediately, you stabilize the country (which he did), before any such move can come later down the line.
The results of quick rash decisions can be seen with the desaster Emilokan has brought upon Nigerians.
Never speak ill about Obj, he might have had flaws as a human but never at the level of the two desaster president's from the apc. Are you not aware Obj wiped out our debts with the oil windfall money from the gulf war? On the other hand buhari came in, there was war also, yet we entered debt. In all the 8 years of Obj, naira did not cross the ₦120 to $1 mark. Yet under buhari, in 8 years from 180 to 750 for $1, under Emilokan from 750 to 2000 in 6 months!
Perhaps, Obj as you alledged should have stayed for 3,4,5 terms, atleast we wount be in the situation we are now.

Our lazy African leaders think that
other country leaders are as idle, wasteful
and unserious as they are.

Not every country is ready to bear the
expenses that is involved in receiving a
leader on state visit especially from a
country that is of no strategic benefit
to their interests..

We recall that world conference in
Qatar recently that Nigeria had the
biggest entourage, with officials carrying
their sites chicks and family members at
the expense of our suffering tax payers.

The Qataris must have noticed this and
have come to realize the financial dangers
if having Tinubu coming with an entourage
of 20 ministers, 12 governors, 20 senators,
90 members of House Of Reps and another
560 followers❗️❗️❗️☹️☹️☹️
Worse still, Qatar does not want him to contaminate them with his poverty spreading body odor. Man that has broken world records for single handedly driving 200m people into poverty. In 9 years of his apc from ₦2m getting you 8k pounds they met to that same ₦2m now less than 1000 pounds.

Bank account balance is not a true measure of wealth.
Oga, if a "wealthy" person in naija does not have 500k in his account, he is not in any way wealthy. 500k should be that change in the account that is not worth the stress of touching for even the most poor wealthy man. It's just as you have 600 naira in your aza that is not useful to you. Oga under apc 500k is just a little over $200.

Walai, all the revenue from our business goes to buy diesel, infact we are fast depleting cash to the extent of using capital. Last last na to shutdown kick out well over 150 people out of work. Imagine blowing currently over 700k diesel daily.. ₦1600 per liter today.

Correction!

It is not the sum that is paltry but the interest is will generate when kept with the banks and it's usually <3% per annum.

Where to keep it?
You invest it of course.
I understand you. But 500k is not much, to in the first instance consider seeking interest from the bank, besides what do you want to invest in with 500k? That is rather pocket change in this current inflation hit economy.

This is why I always tell you that taxation must be focused on the rich.

5 percent of the population is about 10 million people.

500 thousand naira is about $300.

How much do you think you can get from 190 million people who have less than $300 saved in their accounts?

Our GDP is about $450 billion. There is money in Nigeria.
Our gdp will be around the 150-200b range with the current devaluation. It might be even lower.
