Hope the guy realizes that soakaways in the neighborhood may have been flooded, and so there might be a good amount of waste water mixing around in that water he's happily swimming in... |
Metuh:It hasn't reached that level. I'm not a musician... I'm an engineer. Just like people can say to me: "we've seen this same designed all over, can you change it up a bit"? I feel that I can say the same to her. I appreciate our musicians (especially for their role in employing people and being cultural ambassadors) but for no matter how popular a musician is, they usually find themselves obsoleted when they don't change up their music. Ironically, things only get better when there are people dissatisfied with the status quo. Zombies, by definition do not complain or stimulate improvement. Zombies would actually just go with the flow and accept what they are given. |
Metuh:I'm not a musician... I'm an engineer. Just like people can say to me: "can't you be more creative in your field"? I can say the same to her. I appreciate our musicians, and I'm a great fan... but for every popular musician that ever lived, if then didn't change up their music, they become obsolete. |
Honestly, social media is allowing people to abuse each other mercilessly... it's sad |
Fawklicant:This is the most sensible post on this topic. Unlike say UK or US where politicians have ideologies, our politicians are just in it for themselves, and will join any platform that offers them the best chance. She wanted to try her luck in APGA and saw that her chances were slim to none, so went back to PDP which might give her a better chance of success. They all do it, and their performance after election is all the same: woeful. |
Adaowerri111:I have to agree. I appreciate what they're doing, but it's been like 7 years of the same kpam-kpam-kpam, kpam-kpam. Let's hear some new beats and new concepts. |
See how girls are salivating over abs... I suppose the advert is working ![]() Later girls will come and start complaining about how women are objectified as sexual beings in adverts. |
Favor99:Sorry... I didn't mean it that way... we have Asaba, Owerri, and Enugu girls here aplenty too... I was just sad about the prospect of fewer Edo girls cuz I like them ![]() |
Let them strike... after 2 months of no pay they will eventually get back to work. The only thing wage increase will do is raise prices for everybody, and we're back to square one. |
prolog2:What are you calling me names for? I made a lighthearted joke hoping the curse will not prevent our Benin/Edo girls from coming to ply their trade in Asaba. When did that become a discussion on politics? ![]() |
Beautiful bae, and I like the groom's outfit |
Daviddson:I'd be careful with using one culture's ideas to demonize another culture's: truth is, every culture has its creation myths... the Christian one is the currently prevailing one, propagated at the point of arrows and guns, and most attractive to the downtrodden of society. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the sole truth. It didn't exist for nearly 300,000 years of humanity (unless you believe the Universe was created 6000 years ago, in Genesis), and may become a forgotten relic 2000 years from now. In all that time, many many religions have come up in our quest to understand the world around us, all self-assuredly confident that they were the true way. |
The stats are amazing: Edo has only 3 million people, yet 9/10 of the girls trafficked to Europe are from there? Wow!!! Thank Ogun that Oba of Benin has issued his own curse and that people are fearing it. I hope he didn't extend his curse to local-trafficking... we in Asaba depend on our Edo girls coming through ![]() booblacain:Now that there's a curse, his enforcers will also actively decimate those who call his bluff. But I think it also will free the girls mentally because they believe that the traffickers' witchcraft can't stand up to Oba's curse - Oba has the backing of the gods. |
I for one have helped out several ![]() |
sako28:Unless you have very good painters, and personally inspect that they use masking tape to cover all fittings, I would advise painting before final electric fitting. For instance, light switches, lamps, electrical sockets - all these things have two pieces: one is the box/holder that fits inside the wall (and typically is installed before plastering). I just keep all the covers aside in one place until painting is finished, then I go around and screw the covers on. Otherwise, you end up with paint all over your finishings. It's a bit more effort, but I just can't stand the sight of blue paint all over a white light switch! ![]() |
I was smiling when I was reading this ... it's like sum pepo didn't hunderstand hour character. This is Nigeria. Sorry, you wanted to take police logic from UK, and apply it to Naija. Anytime you encounter police, you must pay. I've been through the rigmarole enough times to know that, for the most part, involving police in your matter will only cost more. And involving lawyer... well, by the time the case is done, you'll realize you were better just shrugging your shoulders and saying "e go beta". And then, our UK-based friend concluded with this gem: "In this UK, if you are a victim of crime, all you need do is report to police and they would work with you to prosecute. Victim will even get help and free professional counselling if necessary. But back home, if you are a victim of crime and have no money, your case will die. I really weep for my country." Well to be fair, the police in UK have been paid from your taxes (so you've already paid for their services, even if you don't use them in a given year). In Nigeria, police aren't paid much (if at all), and have to collect their fees from the complainant or defendant. ![]() |
excomarow:The image says "Patriotsm is supporting your Commander-in-Chief, even if you don't agree with him on everything". Actually Patriotism is supporting your country, full stop. If the particular government or Commander-in-Chief has goals that are not in line with the country's best interests, patriotism demands protest, disobedience, and even their removal. PMB's policies are anti-Nigeria, divisive, and retrogressive; he abuses Nigerians at any chance he gets; and has yet to demonstrate competency for the job he was elected to do. He is unapologetically pro-North (at the cost of a united Nigeria); he has a tendency to associate more closely with his kinsmen in Niger, than the rest of Nigeria; he is dismissive of the opinions and lives of those in other parts of this country. He has demonstrated his anti-Nigeriannes times without number that it's become comical. And you ask if we've given him a chance. He would have been much happier with a country called Arewa. You can see it in everything he does and says. |
coputa:Either they collect ransom directly, or indirectly... one way or the other money is exchanged for food, supplies, and arms. It has not escaped me that they appear better equipped with each ransom paid. |
They need the money for elections ![]() |
excomarow:Are you saying GEJ wanted General Aziz killed... you don't think it's the Northern conspirators who have their boys in the intelligence agencies? We can go back and forth, about who started what when. OK GEJ was ineffective, and he paid the price at the polls. PMB was making excuses when he wasn't president. Now he's been in charge for more than 3 years, and he still has not solved what he was elected to do. What he said he could do in a few months. And his herders have been even more effective at ending lives under his watch. He is a retired general, he was trained for this sort of thing, yet no results. He wasn't elected to make excuses about how the previous government was failed... he was elected to fix things. |
sirusX:Dat kin yash.. you sef fit look am walk away? Especially when the owner is batting her eyelids and wrapping her arms around you. I no blame the guy. |
All I see is a large, wealthy, church... yet no industry to employ people. |
Aden777:That's my point: all the other people being killed, are they not somebody's child? And we know that if we save one person, that ransom money will be used to kill hundreds more. Ransom money buys guns, trucks, petrol, bombs, phones, food, bribes. All which will be used to attack villages in the near future. And they will still capture another person for next year's ransom. I know it's a tough choice, but risking a hundred lives because we want to save one life does not make sense to me |
chriskosherbal:Sigh... the ends justify the means. So Leah gets free, BH buys more weapons and food with the ransom money, and then hundreds others are killed or turned into orphans over the next six months. Not sure what ends are being justified. I would not have paid a single ransom from the beginning is what I'm saying. Yes sacrifice Leah... or does her life matter more than the others who will be killed in the coming months? |
excomarow:Since you're looking for who to blame, let me remind you of these other incidents: Wasn't it PMB and cohorts who said: "Military Offensive against Boko Haram, Anti-north", "[Boko Haram is] not deserving of the wrath of the Nigerian army", "am not in support of the state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa state."? It was only in the few months before elections that Buhari said anything along the lines of crushing BH. Before, he had appeared sympathetic and worked hard to frustrate GEJ's attempts. And didn't the French government make things worse by pressuring us to pay Boko Haram that $3.15 million as ransom for 7 citizens in 2013? Does Nigeria make guns? Where did these weapons come from? Aren't we seeing evidence that Northern elites have been colluding with, supporting, housing, and financing Boko Haram all these years? |
Please don't castigate me for what I'm about to say: Leah Sharibu is one person. Paying ransom to Boko Haram only emboldens them and gives them the ability to buy more arms and kill more people. I don't want her to be killed, but I don't want many other innocent people to be killed either. They are as strong as they are because of all the ransom paid so far. Back in 2013, they got a random of $3.15 million to free seven French hostages. That money has been used very effectively, and since then a few thousand Nigerians, Cameroonians, Chadians, and Nigeriens have lost their lives. Now somebody would say to me: "what if Leah was your sister?" It's a hard choice, but if I pay them ransom to rescue her, what assurance is there that they won't come back and wipe out my whole village later, me and my sister included? |
enoch273:People like her are growing our entertainment industry... Dangote and others are growing our manufacturing industry... PMB and his cohorts are the ones regressing our economy, while his Boko boys and herders are frustrating our lives. Yet if Genevieve ever ran for elected office, people would be abusing her left and right. What a country. |
Beautiful Anambra... the people are really trying And to that person complaining about lack of skyscraper... it's only a matter of time... apart from Lagos, Onitsha has the highest average building height (even though most are only 5-6 stories... but there are a lot of them). Think about this: Lagos is Nigeria's financial capital, and Abuja its political, which means there's a lot of the country wealth poured into those places. Onitsha has grown as a result of internally-generated wealth from private enterprises. Compared to other cities in the country (apart from Lagos and Abuja), Onitsha (and Anambra in general) is at the forefront of urban development. But we should not be comparing and contrasting for argument's sake... we should be celebrating all aspects of our country. |
Eeyahh... so basically, Donald Duke is no longer a real contestant. It will be hard for anybody to garner much votes outside PDP or APC. Well... there's money to be made this election season, so I invite all contestants, potential winners and certified losers, to bribe me with 10k each... I won't refuse a bag of rice or even garri ![]() |
UNIQUEISRAEL:God punish devil. Pastors can be wicked. I can just imaging them making these nonsense demands... and the painful part is that some people would still do it! |
BigbamoAYO:Reduce your bills. I'm serious. What bills can a single man have? Rent, light, pay for water, food, transport, one or two decent outfits... what again? Is it DSTV? cut it. Flexing at the club? cut it. Subscription? cut it. Hair for your girl? cut it. |
Spinless, the lot of them. |
