Shelumiel:It can't be any worse than living in a world of alcohol consumers... (according to the science anyway). Drunkards get belligerent, smokers just chill out. |
LOVED this movie!!! I too wanted to go to "QUEENS". It was around this time my parents finally bought a colour-TV and VCR. Before then all my entertainment was two NTA channels in black and white :-) alezzy13:Yes oh... my first woman crush back then. Still now sef. Ever stunningly beautiful |
So someone needs to snapchat their most private moments to convince madam Kemi of motherhood? This lady really needs to stop smoking that stuff and go and breathe in some fresh air. Or is it just for blogging traffic, because this just doesn't make any sense. |
What are we celebrating? 58 years of mediocrity. What we need to be doing is celebrating 100% light, running tap water, and good hospitals. I fear our centenary will still be more of the same: fancy airshows and nonsense parading yet I will have to on gen if I want to see it on TV. Mtcheew |
The more I see of Sowore, the more I'm convinced that he's too full of pride for his own good... which is not what we need in a leader. Yes, we need assertiveness, but not arrogance. I'm as modern as you can be - an open-minded scientist, but I have a very healthy respect for our culture and traditions. There are some things I like to change and use scientific explanation for, but there are many many things that make sense and should be respected/honoured. I am from Asaba, yet I find it inconceivable that I would ever disrespect a Yoruba traditional ruler. Much less so a Yoruba man. Even if Ooni is late by 10 hours... I'm the one who sought an audience from him, and would prostrate as low as I can to demonstrate my respect for the throne. We were always taught that you stoop low to conquer - and this metaphor has so many meanings. To come and start demonstrating strong-headedness in the name of modernism is not wise. Do you think Theresa May would ever refuse to curtsy to her Queen, or Shinzo Abe refuse to bow to his Emperor -even if that traditional ruler was late? These are very powerful people in modern states... yet this Sowore - like the nza bird - is "wrestling with his chi". I've been watching him - he thinks if its ok to insult older politicians (one can disagree without being dismissive), then he is entitled to wrestling with traditions. With this singular move, this man just lot all hope for support from the people he needs the most. |
Offpoint:Nice... a new life is born, and something is already telling you to abuse the innocent soul... |
shotin:Unknown to you and Yambee, but her family knows, as does his, and as does the US government (via the hospital the boy was born in). |
Yambee:TBH neither you nor I know if she's married, but apart from that: I don't get the point you're trying to make. That word is an English word that explains their approach to children. We in Africa say that: either the child belongs to the mother's people (if she is not married), or belongs to the father's people (if mother is married). Later if the parents should wed, some of us even have a process by which the father's family has to go through before they can claim that child as theirs. Instead of abusing and disinheriting children, our culture accepts them, no matter the circumstances of their birth, so please direct your vitriol elsewhere. |
As long as PMB is president of this sovereign country, he is welcome to address the UN on our behalf. If we don't want him, that's what elections are for. Hopefully we'll make better choices next time. This "comrade" should go and sit down ![]() |
InvertedHammer:For my part, I was questioning the sudden fear mongering by the West about China's intention - pointing to the West's history of hypocritically doing exactly the same thing they're complaining about. The only difference is that they are not the beneficiaries of this new neocolonialism, hence the complaint. They didn't make all this noise when they were colonizing brazenly; they didn't complain when IMF, World Bank were holding African countries hostage and forcing them to implement "structural adjustments" while making unsustainable interests payment; and they certainly didn't complain about the occasional assassination and/or overthrows in order to install leaders subservient to them. I also indicated that the Chinese are brining in much needed infrastructural development and money - of course it behooves the African country to do its due diligence, and strive for "self-directed, internally stimulated" development. Nobody will develop Africa but Africans. No country has developed purely based on the goodwill of outsiders, and our leaders are indeed naiive to continue this subservient world view. I always make a point of how far Korea and China (to mention a few) have come in just 4-5 decades, and how we went from begging England, US to develop us, and now to China; we haven't learnt the lesson right in front of us: we have to seize our own destiny and not depend on outsiders to develop for us. To summarize: I'm not happy with the way African countries are going to yet-another-colonial master in hope of development, but I view the alarm from the West with very cynical eyes. They are not raising the alarm to warn us, they are warning each other that China is taking their lunch. |
Enjoy it oh... this is the last time you will chop pounded yam prepared by your bride ![]() Girls nowadays no dey pound yam again. |
BunmiSkye:Rainy season means more water in the dams, and less AC consumption because the temperatures are relatively cooler, which can translate to "more hours of supply", but we ain't fooled. It's the same song, just a different singer, and different year. |
These people are comedians... I guess it's that season to say whatever you can to win, because you have nothing to lose. ![]() |
vingeophysicist:The question assumes of course, that the guy knows. Most retirees don't expose that part of their history to their potential new mate - and for good reason. The truth is, nearly 20% of gals in uni/poly are confirmed runs (and this is a conservative estimate)... and almost all find husbands. I liked some of the comments in the video: - only difference is body count - a lady cheating on her guy, and olosho, what's the difference - some girlfriends do more than oloshos Don't forget: most oloshos use protection consistently... most girlfriends don't (at least after the first couple of times) which means your exposure to STDs is much higher. For that same reason, abortions are bound to be higher among non-professionals. And the irony is that the men complaining are the very same ones that patronized them. Gerrarahere ![]() |
With the floods and police and school fees... I can't be carrying this matter for head abeg.

YorubaAssasin:Entertainment rubbish that's feeding tens of thousands of Nigerians and their dependents? These are the ambassadors of Nigeria's cultural soft power to the world. They have done better for us in exposing the world to our wonderful country than any of those in office. Didn't Netflix buy the rights to one of our rubbish recently? |
I'm waiting for Kano to have 2 million voters, yet 5 million ballots cast. ![]() Since INEC knows how many voters there are, per ward, they should make sure to have the same number of ballots. It's not that hard. |
dominique:We too done wise... if a babe starts asking how am I... I know where this is going, but let me just find her mouth... As her request starts cooking, me sef will start hinting how I'm stranded... ![]() |
ritylove:99% of the time if I get this from a lady, it means I will be spending money or wasting time on some errand or driving person someplace. Nah mate... I let that kind of message marinate unopened for weeks in my WhatsApp. Wetin happen? My phone died. Mizk:Come now... we know better than that... at then end of the day, no how no how, man must drop something for tfare, or bread and hegg, or recharge. In this PMB era, I don't even message girls again. Let me manage my 1k buy small asun and drink small beer. Man's not hot abeg. ![]() |
frozen70:Same thing that happens when other inheritors die first... you amend the will. But seriously, it's one thing to will a few rental properties and a trunk of cash... it's quite another to will a some old clothes and a busted TV. Where's the wealth being willed? And who gets the other 80%? ![]() |
Jesse25: Treasuredlove:I was being sarcastic - hence the grins... but poking fun at us too... Nigeria is a great country that some foreign nationals have come to stay, even to the point of faking visas and overstaying their contracts. Meanwhile, most Nigerians youths are trying to check out, refusing to see the wonderful opportunities here. That's one irony. Two, objectively (without sentiment), these people are adding to the Nigerian economy ... everything you're accusing them of, Nigerians do even worse: slave masters; don't pay salaries; evading tax; abusing and injuring staff; and so on; so I can't fathom why that's a basis for deportation. Since FG now knows them, make them pay a fine, regularize their papers, tax them, and ensure they pay their workers fairly. That seems more productive to me. |
FG getting rid of some of the most productive people in this country ![]() Abi I dey lie? Let's be honest ![]() |
MobilityExpress:While I agree with the current situation that Tesla is miles ahead... it's usually not the first mover that wins the race solely on their current position. They have to be careful to innovate and carve out a large niche. Most of the luxury brands will take their lunch at the high end, and then Toyota and Honda will continue to chip away at the lower end. Tesla's efforts to make a more affordable EV may backfire if they have to start competing with Toyota for that market. Even the mid-segment Lexus and Infiniti brands have compelling hybrids that may soon go full electric in the next few years. |
Milllz:I agree... they dragged their feet until a new company came to show them what's possible. The luxury segment should have been at the forefront since their customers are not particularly price sensitive. Electric vehicles are definitely the next evolution in transport, and companies that make that transition will be HUGE as there are billions of ICE cars to replace over the next two decades. it's really too bad that our infrastructure would not even allow any indigenous manufacturer to try and capture some of this market. |
So air kissing your good friend is now lesbianism? Bloggers and commentators sef. This thing that most girls do nowadays is now cause for alarm? But in case of incasity. Me ma sef, dey here to chop kiss ![]() |
This is most wonderful. Where are my "Igbo amaka" people? (even though we don't know if she's Igbo... ![]() So they took out the swimsuit part, and women are talking about empowerment? It's still - at the heart - a beauty contest, and the prettier you are, the better chance of winning. Good steps in the right direction sha... |
Guerella:Traffic. As you can see, it worked. |
DoTheNeedful:Feeding only, yes. A decent small apartment, plus electricity and gas, will run over $1000/month (I just googled briefly for that part of the country). You've not yet eaten, paid for childcare (she must work... $2000/month cannot cover both their costs), health insurance, car, phone, or clothes. So my fellow Nigerians, let's continue to support Wizzy Baby and buy his merchandise, so he can afford his child support payments (to three baby mamas). It's not easy.... see how much 200naira condom could have saved. ![]() |
LuciferKristi:Right... because the child doesn't eat, or need good health, or clothing, or a warm house, or transportation, or other care. $2000/month is actually quite reasonable for bringing up a child in USA, even not considering who the father is. This same child is part of Wizzy's USA immigration plans, so that's also his responsibility to care for his investment. zomoears:It's the young guy that decided he wanted to swim without contraception... so he's welcome to "put his money where his mouth was" ![]() |
Netanyahu1:Sure, pick one wealthy black person as the exception. The ugly truth is: if a white person does a crime, the sentences are likely more lenient. For the same amount of drugs, a black teen could be looking at 15 years maximum security, while a white teen could see 1 year of community service. That is what people are complaining for: equal representation before the law, irrespective of race, wealth, or family connections. Oh, they didn't forget OJ... they eventually sentenced him for 33 years for stealing back his own sports memorabilia. He got paroled after 9 years though. Even the District Attorney who persecuted the murder case said so: https://www.thewrap.com/gil-garcetti-oj-simpsons-robbery-sentence-too-harsh/ I doubt a white sports person would get up to 3 years. But this is just speculation on my part... |
ednut1:What people are screaming about is that the police - the supposed protectors of the people, and representatives of the State's power - disproportionately kill black men. The police is also called upon to arrest black people going about their regular business, and unfortunately, a good number of these encounters result in undue harassment and even death for the black person. The screaming is for the State to address the discriminatory practices of its officials. It's hard to hold criminals to account, but you can hold the State to account. |
ednut1:If it was entirely proportional, that number should be around 80%, which is their proportion of the general population. You'll also find that the Whites killed were often belligerent, and the blacks (whose deaths are being protested) were often either unarmed, fleeing, or in legal possession of a weapon with no justifiable reason for their death. There has been a long, verified, history of maltreating black people in the USA - many of whom are punished much more severely for the same crimes (and are killed, rather than taken into custody) - so any news raises eyebrows. |
