wristbangle:If you look at transportation (especially flights) around the holiday period, in any country, it is almost always double (or treble) the cost in the slow season. This is not limited to Nigeria, and is not limited to Igbo transport. |
Go and help develop your hometown... How many children have access to drinking water or textbook? Start a foundation with your name, and acquire something that will last past your lifetime This is my theme this year BTW ![]() |
The only way to save 489k is to have a salary more than 489k. How much is her income to start with? |
Precambrian111:Guy, relax. Her last name and mine are very similar. I don't care about the people from West and North who steal. I care about my own brothers and sisters who steal from us. After we have kept quiet all this while, doing na we we. Na we still dey suffer am abi? We still don't have good infrastructure. That is what I'm complaining about |
Overconfidence and complacency is our motto. You have displaced enemy from their camp... Does not mean you have incapacitated the enemy. You talk of surprise attack. Didn't you post sentries, lookouts? What kind of commander occupies enemy territory and then behaves as if he is within the barracks? Gallant soldiers being led badly. If it's to whip civilians they'll get A. |
Xcelinteriors:This punishment is actually the best thing that could happen. The alternatives are being burnt, badly beaten, or handed over to Nigerian police for weeks of torture, starvation, mosquitoes, extortion, and worse |
Freedom2016:What? You can't seriously be defending this rogue! I'm all for fairness, but this woman went far far far past the line for anybody to be defending her. And it's because of rouges like her my hometown has not seen light for over 5 years. No joke - blown transformer. Because of rogues like her, entire generations of children don't have access to water, meaningful education, or health care. Because of the extreme selfishness of she and her cohorts, we are doomed to a cycle of poverty and crime. So for the sake of all of us who've been plagued by these parasite, at least let justice take its course. At this stage, even if you are my own sister - especially if you're my sister and betray me like this - if you ruin my life and my children's, I cannot be motivated to defend you. |
O ṣe kọ ile, nigbati o hamma? You won't go and build house or rental property now... then you will be singing "no more yahooze"... ![]() |
Bolustic:You know how, at a ground breaking ceremony, there is usually blocks, sand, iron, cement, some equipment? They have also usually cleared the ground and leveled most of it, abi? Sometimes there's a foundation, and part of a wall, and some important guest ceremonially places a single block and mortar, or lifts a shovelfull of dirt. On civil projects like a bridge, there's also lots of survey, soil testing, excavating and preparation, and likely a few piles jacked into the ground already. Have you seen a ground breaking ceremony in the bush? Will all those important guests carry cutlass and weed the place? Work usually begins weeks and months before official ground-breaking ceremony. So I don't think your assertion is necessarily correct. Besides, this bridge was stalled by the man in charge. Ostensibly to verify the money is allocated/spent properly... we'll accept what they say at face value, as long as they complete the bridge. |
Bullshit. You're a large airline. You can make arrangements or build a small depot to ensure you have at least 1 week supply. Then you make sure you stay ahead by working vigorously behind the scenes to fill that depot. Even we commoners have a jerry can of petrol or kerosine, or drums of water on standby. |
Forget that pretty face and smart outfit. When they are dealing with you as only Naija police can, that's when you know say beauty is only skin deep |
nefertitiram:I don't understand the 3% part because historically, no matter the purported ownership stake, govt has always managed to frustrate these types of PPP enterprises. Especially this regime that likes to rule by fiat, insists on policies that make no economic sense, and bullies participants into submission. You'd think such a minority stake holder would wield little influence, but it has never been the case with Abuja. |
acenazt:... because the Nigerian government has a stellar record of providing services ![]() Can't wait to hear tales of ill-maintained aircraft, owing workers 9 months salary, ghost workers, inflated maintenance contracts, 0% on-time departures, pilot strikes, luggage handler strikes, and deadlock about ticket subsidy. Imagine the government running a mobile company, airline, or bank as well as it has handled the power situation... And as we all know, the best time to start a capital-intensive airline is when there is little forex, people are flying less, and fuel is costing more. Thumbs up to our leaders. SMH |
Ironically, it's people with home training that see sense in using the right utensils for the job. Spoon for rice. Chopsticks for noodles. Hand for amala. I think she knows better, and just said it to generate some traffic. She probably even just used hand to demolish a dinner of eba and draw soup before composing this tweet. ![]() Abi will you also advise oyinbos to use knife and spoon to cut and eat their pizza, meatpies, fish and chips, or cut their bread and dip into soup with fork? *Eniola no vex, we love u, but this picture is so funny and fits the situation ![]()

ok |
Aburi001:Amen. Though I feel it's not about Baba God picking up any calls or sudden transformation... it's about working hard, staying on the grind, making steady measureable progress in spite of naysayers and other obstacles. Most people who appeared to be successful overnight have worked ceaselessly for up to a decade on a particular thing. |
free2ryhme:The security council permanent members are notorious belligerants (formenting numerous wars, including two world wars). It does the world a lot of good for them to agree to and veto major decisions at a table. By cajoling, coercing, and outright bullying other member nations, a lot of potentially contentious issues are ironed out before they escalate into war. Not perfect, but I'd argue it has saved a lot of lives. As for Nigeria, our only power comes when they ask about what to cook, or what colour curtains to choose for the UN headquarters ![]() |
Kingbuhari:... and working hard and smart to get it is better |
But all these predictions are common sense... you don't need any divine inspiration to realize that: it's going to flood this rainy season. Genius! naira is going to depreciate further. Wow hardship will continue. one of our old leaders is likely to pass. continued trouble in several states. Somebody give this man an award for stating the obvious.

To all those saying they don't care or give a rat's ass (or fvck): not too long ago - a black woman could not even contest not too long ago - a dark skinned woman was not considered beautiful by global standards not too long ago - a dark skinned woman had no hope to win on the world stage These may seem like petty and inconsequencial achievements, but in a world dominated by the meme that "black is bad", these victories are changing people's minds, challenging assumptions, and making a world that will be friendlier to my girl children. |
adedayoa2:In your part of Lagos. 3 days out of 365 during holidays does not make a significant sample size. There is reduced industrial demand during the festive season. |
Toketimt:So you're telling me that after struggling to gather 6 million to buy and clear car, I should have no problem coming up with another 2 million just because Mrs Adeosun and her boss want to "stimulate local production. Yet will they turn around and generate more power and fix roads? In addition, now I need yet more naira to satisfy a dollar import. Really smart these ppl in government. The single thing govt should concentrate on is refinery capacity. Fix them and dollar pressure will ease. All this punitive taxes is not going to help. 1984 beckons: inflation will skyrocket in 2017 and there will be business shutdowns. |
How come we never get advanced notice in this country? If last week I've already pledged 2mil to clear something, now I need to quickly source another 2-3 million this week otherwise my products are on hold? |
So foundation, concealer, primer, lipstick, eyeshadow, lashes and light blush qualify as "without makeup". Only things I see missing are heavy monster eyebrow lining that our ladies like so much these days. It's a very nice picture of a beaurifful lady, but OP don't be posting false info. |
If na Naija now, you will hear all kinds of begging: "abeg, oga Obama, no vex, we will set up a committee to find out which one of our yahoo boys hacked your system. You know say we no get official airline, and Arik just dey cancel flight anyhow, and fuel no dey, and dollar don cost. In fact, before we see money hire uhaul trucks sef na wahala. Abeg give us three weeks, abeg." ![]() |
BeeBeeOoh:And since this is Naija, there are likely many unknown strongholds. NA always counting chickens before they're hatched. It's a sad state of affairs when I would place more weight on BH videos words than on NA. |
Looking good. At least progress is being made, and praise God for safe journey to and fro. Hope you enjoyed home. Who was your cabinet and wardrobe maker, and can you give us a sense of the price? I was thinking of getting prefabbed furniture, because after you add labour, time, and transportation, it's cheaper than hiring somebody to make them. |
Omoakinsuyi:I want to agree, but I remember things were really really hard under him, even economically. But to me, freedom of expression and freedom to live without harassment is most important. From that, economic prosperity will flow. Even as things are now, very few will want to go back to those dark days. |
Somebody climbs on a pole... instantly people start claiming witchcraft. There are many rational reasons why somebody aged would be up a pole, including dementia, sleepwalking, and just plain mischief. None of it involves the supernatural. |
I say we wait a few months before we begin celebrating this good news. NA frequently overstates their achievements ond underestimates their adversaries. For all we know we will get another message from Awon boko by year's end |
I see where this is going. Before Buhari leaves it will be #1000 to $1. Then they will finally rebase the currency to make #1 to $1. The guy actually has sense* *I'm being sarcastic. ![]() |
“It is unfair to use the shallow market as a basis for determining the value of our currency. No one uses the Travelex rate at Heathrow to determine the exchange rate for the pound in the United Kingdom,” - Emefiele But the rate at Heathrow is a close proxy of the official rate. Nonetheless, what matters is not the official rate of the currency (especially interbank), but how much you can actually get it for. It's no use if the CBN cannot defend its desired rate with actual dollars. If he wants the official and parallel rates to match, he should back it up with actual money, not talk. If he can't back it up, then he should allow it to find its market level. I can't go to Heathrow and say: "but my CBN governor said that the exchange rate is..." The _real_ problem is all this intervention without any real structural changes. Just making sure we don't import refined petroleum (i.e. we have working refineries) will reduce a good amount of demand. |
