Old USSR did it in the 60s; not the first time a monkey was sent to the space . People passionately spoke about a 3 lane Highway with railway lines running between Enugu and Onitsha, with industries at Ngwo/9th Mile and Ogbunike/Nkpor in early 90s, but nothing ever came out of it except political bickerings.

Trains calling stations every 20 minutes on both sides will increase trade and provide easy transportation within the two states . It's time for organized transportation in Igboland. odumchi: This isn't true. Ibini Ukpabi never had a sole chief priest. It was attended to by several high priests and shrine servants. The truth is that Ibini Ukpabi was harmless and everyone in Arochukwu knew/knows that, however outsiders didn't. The Aro manipulated it to spread fear among outsiders. Therefore, the most powerful/influential man in Arochukwu is the Eze Aro.

If an Eze Aro with monarchical powers really existed before the British came he would have been popular like Oba Ewuare of Benin kingdom or King Jaja of Opopo. The feared priests of shrines had more powers than anybody in pre-colonial Igboland beside Onicha.

Moreover, I think people are misunderstanding the meaning of "Igbo amaghi eze". "Igbo amaghi eze" means that the Igbo nation (all the sub-ethnicities of Igboland) do not have one sovereign who rules over all of them. It doesn't mean that the Igbo never had kings.

What do you mean by sub-ethnicities in an ethnic nation like Igboland? Ndigbo is one ethnic group with different dialects . Have you ever heard or read about King of Ngwa, Okigwe or Udi before the British arrived Igboland?

The word Eze is as old as igbo tribes,when igbos say,igbo enwe eze,who is this eze they are talking of? My hypothesis is that igbos once had a king,something must have happened along the line( may be a tyrant eze) that made the people reject the authority of this eze( igbo ama eze),and evolved a perfect system system of democracy.

An exploitative tool for politicians since the days of Mazi Mbonu Ojike, is what the present Igbo monarchs are. Why did the British introduce the controversial 'paramount rulers' in Igboland? Why would there be ' traditional rulers' in a culture with a monarchical leadership ? It's all fake....

Gov. Chime's health should be paramount to him and not clinging to office at all cost. Though, he is one of the finest in the East ever(after late Sam Onunaka Mbakwe), the laws of Nigeria must be upheld . I still believe that the current arrangement with his deputy Mr Onyebuchi and the state house of assembly, will not survive pressure if this scenario is further stretched .

There is a huge difference between LOCAL government and NATIONAL government. The democracy of a nation state cannot operate at the "ilo" level.Just like managing a shop in Onitsha market is a different ball game from managing Walmart. We have to evolve our democracy with the times.

The company must not rely on government patronage alone. A smart marketing strategy with juicy offers(e.g.longer financing period) to private users must be adopted . Hoping mainly for government patronage nearly killed ANAMCO.

Goods worth less than €600 million , too little for a country that wants to be among the 20 leading economies in 2020. We are not being sincere to ourselves....

Obele nwa, you sure don't know what 'ilu' Igbo means? That adage is centuries old, and signifies the loose democracy of Igbo republicanism where every male adult can vote or offer suggestions in matters affecting his society. This normally happens at the village square ,it also means that no single person makes orders or decisions by fiat in Igbo culture . It's this culture of representative republicanism which has made it difficult for Ndigbo to have a central structure that could produce a blueprint for a unified political leadership . I do know that we have 'Igwes and Ezes' in our various communities but the influence of those people in Igbo politics in general, is limited to their community. The bickerings and lack of focus in Ohaneze easily come to mind here. The only time Ndigbo really had leadership was during the civil war(brought about by suffering and persecution), Chinua Achebe analysed this phenomenon clearly in his book 'The Trouble With Nigeria'.

Sagamite doesn't know about Emmanuel Okalla's quality either . He was very much like Thomas N'kono. Okalla can be compared to Germany's 'Titan' Oliver Khan as well. His generation didn't make it to Europe, but definitely belong to African's best .
