Listen, you and others on here motivated me and this is why I try to motivate others too. I thought I had to retire first and move to Nigeria before I can build (buying an already completed house is out of the equation for me due to my taste and needs). But seeing all you guys on here doing your builds gave me the confidence that I didn't have to wait for retirement before I build.

In your defense though all you saw was my little chicken padlock that sits next to the main house

Good decision. I have always believe that you do not have to retire first before building your retirement home. I have already built mine in the village and i still have sometime to retire. My Sister-in-law and her husband in the US have already built theirs in the village. They are presently in the village from the US on a month long vacation with their kids and the kids are just running all over the place enjoying themselves with fresh and cool breeze.

Please can you help me with an estimate(materials, labour etc) to plaster a fence of 120ft x 60ft of 10 coaches. It is only the internal part that i want to plaster as the external parts are on other people's land.

guy let start using made in Nigeria. Let analysis it. That car sold at 1.5million goes for around 3million by Toyota. When you pay you paying for the brand name, you will also pay over $1000 ffor shipping, handling and custom duty. The total of the two would be around $3000. Let assume the profit margin is $1000 we are looking at $4000 the total cost added to a $12,000 car will be between $4,000 and $5,000. Don't forget Labour cost is cheaper in Nigeria. With time there prices too will go up. Am just analysising to you it can work, let help promote ours too.

Please post more information. People think because of the price, it is not reliable. They are forgetting that custom duties, exchange rate, clearing, bribery etc are out of the equation. Just imagine the savings on clearing and custom duties alone. Iam sure when Dangote refinery starts and fuel comes down to something like N100, they will also say it is fake and unreliable fuel. Cars manufactured in India are very cheap because of cheap labour and constant power supply in the industrial estates.

Why not take a trip to Presentation and find out the fees and also if it is all boarding?. In addition, Catholic schools make a provision for a flexible payment plan. If i was in that Benin axis, my choices would have been Lumen Christi for Boys and Presentation National High for girls.

Some years back while living in North Texas, a raccoon decided to enter my attic to setup shop (garage was mistakenly left open overnight).

So for a couple of days there it will make all sorts of racket up there.

If you walk by a certain section of the garage, she'll growl and hiss. It was actually quite entertaining.

Then I went and purchased a Raccoon cage.

I set the trap up there (folks you do not want to come face to face with a Raccoon while on a ladder

Few hours the Raccoon was caught.

I had to wait till the morning to drive out into the monies to release it.

I happened to be restoring a car at the same time in the garage where I kept the 'coon.

Everytime I walked by to grab a tool the Raccoon will rear up, hiss, paw at the cage to get a piece of me

(Neighbor said shoot the dam thing already, but nope I'm Mr. Environmentalist).

Hours later when I finished my work on the car I was restoring, the 'coon had tired itself out. It wouldn't even move from a sleeping position any more when I walked by

In fact when I went to release it back into nature later in the morning I had to purposefully nudge it out of the cage. It was all spent and worn out. It was hard to imagine that this was the same boisterous animal I had caught in my trap earlier

I am EgunMogaji, I know how to trap, domesticate and release wild animals

PS: The clean up in the attic required strong chemicals because you know wild undomesticated animals just pee and shyte everywhere

Is it ever OK to send kids born abroad to boarding school in Nigeria?

My brothers in America did this for all four of his kids, they all went to adesoye college . Second brother did same. Loyola jesuit.

Now am considering all options as my kids grow older.

What are different advantages and disadvantages of sending kids to boarding house as oppose to letting them stay in Europe and continue with their schooling

Iam sure many people here will tell you that you should not try it and that boarding schools are bad. Are the day schools not equally bad.

To me it is a good idea. You can have a talk with your brothers. If they were satisfied with the conduct of their kids after schooling in Nigeria, then you are good to go. My son told me that there are four(4) people in his JSS 1 set presently that came from abroad. Two(2) from US, One(1) each from Canada and UK. The problem with some of the boarding schools especially that of the Catholic schools is that they do not have common entrance centres outside the country.

You may be right. I blame myself for hiring Brabus too. However, I didn't see the altacations between brabus and his other clinet before I arrived in Nigeria. I saw it the next day I arrived. By this time, I've transfered a large sum of money from my account in Canada to Nigerian already. Moreover, I've been granted leave of absence at my job for 3 months. So I have no choice but to continue with the build. I don't have to hire brabus, I could have hire other able builders on this forum.


I gave brabrus a second chance and I will live to regret it for the rest of my life!


You don't have to feel sorry for me. I look to God of which is where my help is going to come from. I pray that I get a second chance when I mess up one day because I know I'm far from perfect although I remain humble.

It shall be well. You really did no wrong for giving him a second chance even though he messed it up. The builder that handled my build was given a second chance by me and he took the opportunity with both hands and now he is well sought after. When i was to start my project, i made several inquiries in my area as to the best builder around. Anybody i asked keep saying 'this person XYZ is the best but ............'. I weighed the 'but' and felt that i could manage that aspect of the 'but' with my elder brother managing the 'but' side. That was how the builder did a very good and beautiful job. He has now done several jobs for other people because of that build to the extent he is now rejecting kobo kobo villagers job.

Marist Brothers Juniorate(only boys) and Marist comprehensive Academy(mixed) are located in Uturu, just few kilometers from ABSU, Abia State

The school has a very great quality, when I really knew it, it's been nearly 7years I went there, so I can't say for now, but from what I hear, I think it still has great quality, especially in sports and WAEC success...

Experiences and challenges are kind of personal, I can't lay them out here, unless in a private message/chat .... Due to some reasons best know to me

Qualifications, the school used to have an entrance exam which usually takes place in the school premises, they candidate needs to get a good mark to be considered for admission as there are always many candidates.
Secondly, finance= the school as far back as 2008 had a sch fees of over #39,000 minus text books nd pocket money (provisions were banned) I heard the pay over 120K now per term na big man school ooooo

The school is a boarding school, the uniform is White trouser nd white shirt for seniors, nd white shorts nd white shirt for junior
While day wear is Yellow shirt and green trouser/shorts
But uniforms are mostly provided by the school, or a tailor who has an agreement with the school
Other uniforms are white nd red shorts for sanitation, labour, games.....
Director, deputy director, Dean of studies, patrons are among the hierarchy of the school management and administration, the have a good borehole, semi water cistern toilet, enclosure bathroom (you will bring ur water nd bucket)

Disclaimer : this views are they last known facts I knew about the school, but MAYBE a lot have changed, as I said I haven't been to the school or beenin touch with the school informations for over 7 years....
