even in Naija when I stayed with my aunt for a short time, she wished she had a job throughout (mind you, the husband provided everything and even encouraged her job search) just because she didn't like how she had to breakdown what she needed money for throughout the day and the whole sitting at home watching tv and gossiping with friends while the kids were at school etc she was really bored to say the least

there is no one size fit all "family value" different stroke for different folks. even pastor's child with housewife mother is just as capable of becoming a teen mom or robber.

Its all about choice.

IMO families with career parents are the most successful (with both parents involved in the upbringing of the child rather than leaving the task to just the mother).

After making so much money, u get back home one day and realise that the son (age 14) whom u have refused to train and give attention has been involved in a street fight  and has stabbed someone else to death. You then ask urself, when did he start carrying a knife?
Or the daughter (age 15) tells u that she is pregnant. Then u ask urself, when did she start having sex?

In today's world, the man is expected to bring the food to the table, its not an ego thing, its just the norm. The lady should work if there is a need for it, not out of pleasure. Wealth, riches and career fulfilment are good and desirable but family values and peace are better earned.

imagine yourself dependent on somebody to do everything you need. even to buy sanitary pads or tampons u have to ask ur husband. that's a sad life to live IMO. some women prolly enjoy that but  

I would never want my wife to have this mindset. I would like her to understand that what I earn is for the family, which includes her.

While the lady might feel fulfilled to be a career woman, there is bound to be neglect of the kids, the husbands/family needs are hardly met and the family's future/peace is threatened. At least this in my opinion is the basis for the broken society in UK today.

A woman should work, if the hubby does not earn enough to cater for day to day needs and future savings. when What she earns is needed for the strength of the family. But when she works out of self fulfilment, and the hubby can afford her bills, then she is sitting on a time bomb.


why work because ur husband might dump u in future? why even go into a marriage with that mindset? Every marriage is different, the individuals are different and so are circumstances. Me dont think dogma's help in marriages.

I have debated with Christians many times in an open forum and all of their reasoning is the same, you are a cult if you believe outside of the bible. Thus, I use the bible as proof when I am debating with Christians. I show them what is written right in their bible in the languages they were originally revealed and they still can’t handle the facts. I have said it before and will say it again. The bible is nothing more than an ancient soap opera. It is filled with hate, death, murder, prostitution, suicide and lust. Look at the many contradictions, errors and nonsense stories that are written in the bible. I think its crazier not to believe in the bible. Cos in reality no one has to be able to explicitly state why the bible is false, produce an alternative or successfully prove the non-existence of the subjects of the bible.

Good question. The difference is like having two types of Books, titled "Grey's Anatomy." Each Textbook is by different publisher. One is used by New York University of Medicine and Dentistry. Well to me the Bible did not provide a reasonable purpose of existence, which is to be a servant to your God for my entire earth days and the reward is the priviledge to continue the servitude till eternity, to be given a drug like euphoria to make the praise singing and worship more bearable. I do not want that sort of purpose for my life.

You assume your whole household must worship with you, what happens if your child changes church or religion? you will disown him or her. Talk for your self and probably your wife, you remaining household will choose their destiny.

What a wasted sacrifice of a life if it is done for Nigeria the way it is now! Go and ask Yaradua, Bankole, IBB, Ibori, etc if they will sacrifice their life for ANYTHING especially Nigeria! 7. A place where the best of health care is guaranteed whether it is a minor or major illness

9. A place where you are free to criticize the government (even President / Prime Minister) openly and you will be heard and not killed at night.
10. A place where if you entered another country as a visitor, they will respect you because of the country's passport that you carry
11. A country where the cops and soldiers are really friendly and you can walk up to them, ask any questions, take pictures and be treated with respect and dignity.

Well visiting of the grave i will have to differ with my bro Abuzola.

Like i always say about differnces of opinion ,there is a difference of opinion among scholars on this issue and I will explain.

In the eary period of islam the prophet forbade anyone from going to the graves and this was because islam was new and tawheed hasnt sunk deeply into the hearts of the muslims. There was a fear of the new muslims associating paganistic rituals of grave worship with islam.

However in the latter part of islam the prophet said "In the past I have forbidden you from visiting graves, but now you may do so, for it might remind you of the next world.” (Reported by Ibn Majah)

Notice the prophet never distinguished between men and women on this issue.

The scholars that oppose women going to the graves believes this hadith relates only to men and hold on to another hadith to butress their point "Allah has cursed women who frequent graves for visitation.” (Reported by At-Tirmidhi)

This hadith however the scholars that permit women visiting graves stated that this particular hadith is aimed at women who frequent the graves like the pagan arabs to wail, lament and cry frequently as it was a practise the pagan arab women used to idulge in. These scholars cited another hadith to butress their point "The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) passed by a woman who was crying by a grave. He said, 'Fear Allah and be patient.'" (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim). The permissibility is understood, as the fuqaha tell us because he did not forbid her from visiting the grave, and had it been unlawful it would have been obligatory for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) to forbid her.

Several scholars like Imam Qurtubi, Imam ibn Hajar al asqalani and a host of others permitted women to visit graves based on the Ahadeeth above. In the Hanafi school it is also allowed fo rwomen to visit graves as long as all the normal etiqettes of islam is in place like proper dressing and so on.

Personally I hold on to the opinion of women allowed to visit graves from the Ahadeeth above.

Don't deceive yourself into thinking that evolutionism is science, if it is any thing at all it is bad science.  Let me give you a scenario and see if you can answer me without the usual cop-out of the "I don't know" mantra.  If every creature "evolved" as you want us to believe, without any Creator can you answer these pertinent questions.  Take for instance the first bird.  Was it male or female?  Let's say it was a male.  How did it produce offspring without a mate?  If a female evolved, why did it evolve with differing reproductive organs?  Did it evolve by chance, or did it evolve because it knew that it was needed by the male of the species?  How did it know what needed to be evolved if its brain hadn't yet evolved?  Did the bird breathe?  Did it breathe before it developed lungs?  How did it do this?  Why did it evolve lungs if it was happily surviving without them?  Did the bird have a mouth?  How did it eat before it had evolved a mouth?  Where did the mouth send the food before the stomach evolved?  How did the bird have energy if it did not eat because it didn't yet have a mouth?  How did the bird see what there was to eat before its eyes evolved? 

You can now see how silly it is for someone to claim that he is intelligent to believe in evolution, even our black African ancestors will not make this mistake.  Evolutionism is intellectual suicide.  It is an embarrassment on the human psyche, it is what can be rightly called as "intellectual genocide".
