Abali1:
I apologize on behalf of the poster you quoted.
The ways of going around having a SS child are CVs and adoptions. I already stated why those ways are really not the best for couples who will wish to have their own biological kids.
For instance one of the uses of Condom is to protect you from getting infected with HIV, and other STDs and of course pregnancy.
Papillo how many people in Nigeria will willingly sleep with an HIV infected person using Condom? Even with the awareness that they will be protected by the condom.
Most will not risk it, because condoms are not 100% fail-safe.
Then why should some people who are both AS willing copulate(I wrote copu.late) without protection, knowing fully well that there may be risk of bringing forth a SS child.

Politics / Re: Lagos Schools Where Students Sit On The Floor & Under Trees by norrisman: 6:07pm On Jun 14, 2013
automaticcarzz: Schools are like that in every part of Nigeria. What stops parents from buying furniture for their kids to use in their classrooms. Government cannot do everything alone. In the U.S, rich individuals contribute money to fund schools. Rich individuals don't care in Nigeria.

really?
Family / Re: Identical Twin Sisters Die In Car Crash After Leaving Nightclub [photos] by norrisman: 6:51pm On Jun 10, 2013
logica: Now, you don't be daft. In most "developed" countries, you are not granted entry at clubs if you are not at least 21. These are 18 year old girls. How were they granted entry in the first place? In fact all the people in this article are below 21.

EDIT: This happened in Trinidad and Tobago and the minimum drinking age is 18. They were legal.

My argument is not whether they were of legal clubbing/drinking age. A 19 year old in saner climes is usually a fully independent person. If you can join the army at 16, go to war and make decisions to kill without mummy's/daddy's input, why is a problem for a pair of 18 year old girls to go out clubbing? I just cant understand all this ''why did mummy let them go clubbing'' statements.

sexymoma: They look older than their age, it a pity.... i was reading this thread and i was like Gosh shocked how would a normal parent with their reasonable sense allowed those gurls of that age go clubbing, even the driver is 20yrs, their friend too was just 19....too much freedom can be dangerous sometimes. They just wanna make me cry cry am also a twin cant imagine I and ma Twin sis in this kind of situation, Their mother Lost two Precious Gifts. cry

Dont be daftt. In developed countries a 20 year old is an adult and will more than likely be living on his/her own if not attending Uni or college. You can join the Army at 16 for Christ's sake so why would you chat like an slowpoke and ask why parents allow a 19 year old to go clubbing? Was the Nigerian woman that crashed her Mercedes GL where her entire family perished a 19 year old too?

Just because it is the norm for people to live at home well into their 30s in Nigeria doesnt mean thats the way things are supposed to be.

Do Governors really have the power to arrest/apprehend. Do you ever wonder why we never hear of stories of MPs in the UK or Governors in the US arresting people? Because they have no such power. The governor is not different from me ad you and has absolutely no power to arrest/apprehend anyone.

obadiah777: SPEAKING FROM MY EXPERIENCE. EVERYONE I PERSONALLY KNOW WHO LEFT ENGLAND FOR NIGERIA IS DOING VERY WELL
1-MY OWN SENIOR BROTHER...HE IS ONE OF THE OGA PATAPATA OF LASTMA. THIS IS AFTER 21 YEARS OF ROASTING IN ENGLAND. NOW HE IS IN DIFFERENT CITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD EVERY WEEK, ALL EXPENSES PAID.

2-A PERSONAL FRIEND OF MINE. ROASTED IN ENGLAND FOR LIKE 15 YEARS. NOW HE OWNS A HOTEL AMONGST OTHER BUSINESSES IN IKEJA. HE JUST LEFT ENGLAND FOR A 2 WEEK VACATION OF SURFING AND GOLFING

3-ANOTHER ACQUIANTANCE. ROASTED IN ENGLAND FOR LIKE 15 YEARS. NOW HE OWNS A FOOD CHAIN BUSINESS IN NAIJA

4-ANOTHER GUY I KNOW. ROASTED IN ENGLAND. NOW HE OWNS AN OIL AND GAS COMPANY IN NAIJA

5-ANOTHER GUY I KNOW NOW OWNS A FISHERIES FARM AND HE GETS ROASTING OF FISH CONTRACTS FROM THE GOVT.

AMONGST A HOST OF PEOPLE I KNOW. NOW I DONT DOUBT YOUR STORY THAT PEOPLE RETURN TO NAIJA AND GET POORER. I JUST HAVENT HEARD OF ANY YET.

No disrespect but were your friends illegals or didnt have any eductaion? Most of the people I roll with overe here seem to be doing okay. A friend just went on a fantastic contract to Qatar. Another firends wife who is a contractor where I work has just turned down the offer to go permanent on the project she is working on. she was offered a deal worth £40k/ year but she turned it dowm. Before I was made redundant last year I was grossing almost £50k! Most of the people I know are doing quite okay. I do admit that there are also people who are not where they want to be. thats just life.

Moronic Nigerians.

Has the FRSC set up a fund with which to pay hospitals who treat accident victims without collecting payment upfront? Hospitals are not charities, they are businesses and the owner(s) are trying to ea,t not be the Red Cross. If there were enough state hospitals in the country and adequate world class emergency response facilities, the useless FRSC wouldnt have to issue such a dumb statement.

What will you charge the hospital to court for?

Anyway the FRSC has no power to charge anybody to court, only state prosecutors do.

clip: Football is not only about winning trophy. There are more to it that makes the football unique as against any other support.

1 Ability to raise again when you fall. ( from 17th to 3rd)
2 Good management (good wage, transfer, policy etc) Europe to adopt Arsenal management policy
3 Entertainment (
4 Contentment (
5 Return on Investment ( from no club 12 yrs ago to 2nd most profitable club)
6 Trophy
7. Moding Destiny ( preparing Gervinho for the next level
8. Team work
All these Arsenal has exept trophy for now.
UP ARSENAL! We are not just a club we are MODEL to other clubs.

You too get sense my guy!

Who are all these morons talking about shaky second half blah blah blah. Montpellier are the f**king champions of France, did u expect them to roll over? Give the team some bloddy credit! They went away in Europe and beat the champions of France for heavens sake! Even Real Madrid with all their starts were losing at home with 5 minutes to go and if not for suspect goalkeeping, they would probably have lost. Foorball no be mathemantics and the players are not machines!

This is pretty useful information. Just found out I had been released after 2 years in purgatory even though it said lifetime ban.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Robin Van Persie And Kagawa Are Injured. by norrisman: 11:48am On Sep 12, 2012
Opoki:

We were patient with Owen Hargreves

There is a difference between being patient and being locked into a contract.

Arsenal renewed Van Persie's contract while he was on the treatment table. ManUre got rid of Hargreaves once his conteact was up. They couldnt do it earlier as contracts are binding.

I mean, am 4 openness in govt and all dat but if d state house is actually 'leaking' dis way, it portends grave danger to national security cos who knows what these 'sources' are telling(or capable of telling) foreign interest....#veryTroubling

Like someone already said, maybe you are living in the 16th century or you think you are still under a dictatorship. In Great Britain, leaks are the order of the day. As long as it isnt information that can be harmful to the country, then ogala. Something you hear a lot in the news over here is 'Whitehall sources'

Education / Re: Lagos To Introduce Chinese In Public Schools by norrisman: 9:14pm On Sep 10, 2012
Nigerians are very myopic. Why would the Chinese need to learn a Nigerian language. Is any Nigerian language a recognised international language of communications. Why do the Dutch and Scandinavians speak almost flawless English whilt most people in the UK only speak english? Because english is a recognised international language. Are the Dutch and Scandinavians better for it, I think yes. Thank goodness they are not mumu like the majority on this thread and say they wont learni english because the English arent learning dutch.

China is becoming a superpower and it is forward planning. The only shame is that this initiative will only exist on paper and we will never see a teacher teach mandarin in a Lagos classroom.

Billyonaire: You are even in London and not USA. Its a big shame. Make sure you rent fake accents when you are coming for the wedding. Its why people like you fall victims to felons cos you show off your rented accent.

So if I speak with my akpako accent, I'll be safe. How do you know these things? Are you a reformed or current armed robber?

So should I leave my children behind seeing that they speak with a 'fake' accent? Imagine not being able to go to the country they want you to be proud of just beacuse you do not speak the local lingo. #majorshytehole
