dragnet:My guy engage your brain! A picture paints speaks a thousand words. Very soon people will ask for the video of the event before they believe. A few years ago, there was a viral video of the current governor of Abia state T. A Orji performing some rituals and yet people still said it was one thing, one thing @ Topic Isnt it ironic that the guy had Africa embossed all over the T-shirt he was wearing. Unfortunately, this is the best the Africa he probably believed in could offer him. SMH |

xcolanto:Libya and Syria are not friendly to the west so they will condemn by default. In the case of Mubarak they took a siddon look (wait and see) approach until it became clear to them that the Egyptians were not going to give up the struggle so they leaned on Mubarak to leave. Do you hear them condemn the friendly governments in Yemen, Bahrain or even Saudi Arabia (yes there are protests going on in Saudi Arabia but CNN, FOX e,t,c just wont tell you) over protest clampdowns in those respective countries? Nigeria is 'friendly' with the west. |
It looks like it is the same guy who was arguing with the police that ended up dead on the floor. Wow! Dividends of democracy. |
@ Beaf and other apologists Put your hand on your heart and tell me that you really believe these hungry looking women were on the pro-subsidy removal rally because they believe the government. These women look like they dont have a clue and just want to eat. |
Removal of state subsidies and price controls (e.g. Fuel subsidy removal) is one of the many evil conditions required by the Bretton Woods institutions (IMF & World Bank) from developing countries to access new loans from them (their member countries i.e The West). The Bretton Woods institution will claim that subsidy removal (which is part of their Structural Adjustment Programme) helps to reduce poverty but it has only resulted in more poverty for nations that have signed up to it. We all know what happened from '86 when we implemented SAP. Is the country better for it now? I think not. The west gains in the following but not limited ways 1. Developing nations pay the West nine times more in debt repayment than they receive in aid. These conditions ensures that debts to the IMF & World Bank are repayed as the government has funds it has taken away from the masses by the removal of subsidies. 2.Countries must open up their economies to foreign business, usually multinationals from Western countries and remove restrictions on foreign investments. they must allow corporations (BP, SHELL e.t.c.) access to the natural resources of the country at bargain basement prices. The vast majority of the profits made by the multinationals is taken out of the country to the West. All in all, the IMF and World Bank turn countries into loan repayment machines, generating easy profits for the world's richest corporations and banks. |
I prefer UAE (Dubai) dictatorship (monarchy) to Nigerian democracy. |
http://www.rccgna.org/mcm/rc/tgen.aspx?articleid=107&zoneid=4 "Others: A new airport that is very big is coming. Many of the aircrafts at the new airport will have written of them - The Redeemed Christian Church of God. " They actually put this up on their website? Maga don pay! |
Why the guy no predict petrol price increase. At least boys for dey ahead of the game and would have stocked up in their cars and 'jerry' cans. Prophecies for 2012 1 Boko Haram will bomb police stations in the North 2 Armed robbers will raid a bank in Ogun State 3 A top Nigerian politician will die. These are just facts of Nigerian life and any maga can predict the 3 events I have listed above. |
Danka7777:I know people will probably buy it because of the perceived fuel economy and all this nonsense about torque but do you think a diesel engined car should be badged as a M car? I guess it means very soon, we will start to see diesel Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Porsches, iyama, yuk ![]() |
Is this guy really a pastor? He talks like an illiterate drinking Tombo in a motor park. @ muskeeto Thanks, my exact sentiments. The man wasnt preaching, he was urging his mumu crowd to fight! bishop indeed! |
Danka7777:You are wrong mate! unfortunately BMW have decided to go against all ethos of performance motoring and are going to release an X6 M with a diesel engine ![]() http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/17/bmw-releases-second-x6-m-diesel-teaser/ http://www.pistonheads.com/news/24906.htm |
@ beaf I work in Transport in the UK and many services including local bus travel, the Tube and National Rail servies are subsidized. There are many services that are not worth running as companies operating the service wont make a profit but the government and local councils pay for these services to be run. |
Some people cant help but dig themselves deeper into a hole. Even the biggest news organisations sometimes refer to citizens accounts of breaking news events over the phone before they can get their crew and cameras to the scene. Why dont these organisations refuse to report these stories until they see pictures? |
Is that a burnt out body I see in the last picture? And the fools in Nigeria keep saying Nigeria go better blah blah blah. The OP reported this fire at arounf midnight last night and he went there at 1000 this morning and was still able to take the picture of a dead body, omase o! I bet kobojunkie and her cohorts feel like complete idiots. I was too tired to reply yesterday but I think the woman Kobojunkie must suffer from some mental issues otherwise she wouldnt expect any sensibe person living in Nigeria to leave the relative comfort of their home to go and take pictures of a fire in the 'hood' at midnight. I think she has been away from home too long. |
The poster did absolutely nothing wrong. She/ he was an angel and a citizen reporter at the same time. If this was reported by a national daily, I wonder if anyone would have raised an eyebrow. During the recent floods in Lagos, there were many pictures of people affected by the floods. I cant remember anyone saying to protect the privacy of the people on the pictures. The ones badmouthing the OP are Josè (Jealous ones still envy) and wish they had done what OP did but put them in such a situation and they will be in Oshodi isàlè quick quick |

@ rimbaldi I bring small quantities of food to Nigeria and I have never been requested ti declare such by the British authorities. What will the garri be tested for? Why dont they give garri Nafdac number? Why are they only interested in the 'welfare' of people taking garri to Europe and not the people consuming @ home? Will I be free to proceed without customs harrasment if it is OluOlu packaged garri? |
Rimbaldi:I dont know if they were held against their wishes but I find it hard that any police force, not even the most unprofessional of forces like the NPF will storm a foreign mission on receiving a call from a member of the public that they had been refused a visa. In England, before the police could do on-the-spot verification, If u were stopped and didnt have your papers, you were given a producer to present the required documents at a police station within 7 days.
YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE UPSTAIRS TO PAY AND COLLECT RECEIPT FOR THE FOOD EXPORT YOU WERE TRYING TO MAKE. THEY CHARGE N5,000 FOR THAT PLUS ALL THE RELEVANT AGENCIES WILL INSPECT THE FOOD FIRST. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ALWAYS WHINE ABOUT HOW U ARE EXTORTED BUT U ACTUALLY PREFER IT TO DOING THE RIGHT THING. SO WHO ARE YOU FOOLING?
LWKMD! HMRC will make a killing if they start to charge every Nigerian £20 for 'exporting' small quantities of food for personal consumption. I hope u r joking and I dont really have to pay N5000 for exporting a box of noodles and a Derrica of Garri. Inspect Noodles eh? So the Nafdac number on it means nothing and why is it their business, they should let the country I am 'exporting' the food to do thw worrying. |
