Most rice that come in from ceme are rebagged.

They pour rice in tyres and strange places to evade customs and then pour bag into those sacks and seal them back.

If you live around agbara badagry you will understand.

If you don't eat our local rice or you are not sure your rice was not opened and packaged in bits then this is most likely how it was done.

Its most likely won't be low quality rice but what it has passed through would most likely make it unfit for consumption.

Because you are a Christian does not mean tat you should permit nonsense people walk all over you and to intimidate you. I learnt well from MFM. Regarding the sermon, two people sitting side by side can never report anything in the same words. So where is the sense in this your useless harassment?
Lool @ intimidate . Its a simple conversation, you dont need to use subtle insults. Nobody is walking over anybody . I know being polite is part of Christianity too anyway, you threw around some words that were not nice at all.

I did post what he said and you never refuted them.

Yes I agree two people may not understand a sentence the same way or report the same way and that's why I had to post because that statement came out of another thing entirely , you shouldn't have picked it out, but I have read your apology on another page of this thread and I guess its okay but people who don't read that part will say oo well we should not pay tithes.

If anybody should feel harrased it should be me because I didn't even mention you initially, I posted what I heard.

No hard feeling from my side smiley

You are a christain you don't need to use subtle insults.

I am telling you what he said , disprove what I said since you were also there, except that was the only sentence you remembered in the whole of that powerful sermon about primitive faith.

I didn't quote you originally, you decided to quote me and say what I said is wrong, few other posters on this thread have told you the same thing.

I will never be a laughing stock, understand that.

He also said any pastor that steals God's money cannot expect to lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover.

His words are being misconstrued here. I was there na.

He said tithing is not compulsory. But if you want God to open the windows of heaven for you, then nobody will need to tell you to tithe.

He also said at the inception of MFM, offering were not being collected, but he found out that people needed to be blessed, and so offering collection began.

He said to be blessed you need to give. And that mature Christians don't even give 10% anymore. They have graduated to 20, 30 or 50% e.t.c.

D.K olukoya is pro-tithe as a matter of conviction and a condition for uncommon heavenly blessing on your life. He said it is not compulsory though.

Good things are not compulsory.
God bless you bro, you were at that service.
I wish we could get a video honestly.

Was that EXACTLY how he said it ,or in your own words? Have you quoted the entire sermon ? Pot calling kettle black.
Did he not use the exact words I said.

Answer yes or no or refute my points .

Did he not sat tithe offering or first fruit is not compulsory but if only you want the windows of heavens opened.

Did he not say its baby christains that argue about paying tithe or not while others have moved to other levels of Christianity.

Did he not say if you feel a pastor will steal your money go and give it to God directly but you should pay.

Diprove my points her with points I was there live.

You will go to service and not listen.

I knew it that they would mis-interprete what the man said this morning.

I just knew I would see it on NL front page.

You just pick a sentence out of a whole lot of sentences and make a whole new meaning out of it.

The topic today was about primitive Faith, a while lot of things about the early christains was said, even attitude to giving, prayer etc that's where the issue of offering or tithe came in.

The OP did not hear when he said even offering, first fruit too is not compulsory and its baby christains that argue about paying tithe or not when people are already moving on to paying up to 50% of their income as tithe.

He also said if you don't want the windows of your heavens to be opened you can hold your money and if you feel some pastors will steal your money (he admitted that there are pastors who steal in reality) you should find the address of God put it in an envelope and give it to God directly.

Basically he is saying nobody is being forced to pay tithe, you pay or dont pay its to your own benefit or detriment. Shikena.

That's how they will go to church and not listen to message well.

I was there so I know.

Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo- "We Have Never Made Profit From Covenant University" by NoToPile: 8:05pm On Nov 25, 2017
I am not a winners member nor an ex covenant student but the man has a point, in fact this interview ( especially about the university) makes so much sense.

Education is expensive, you only need to see amount being used to run a standard uni ( All our govt universities are below standard and its the truth we are just managing especially in the science courses)

Equipments costs hundreds of millions, some of these so called cheap private unis take part time lecturers for a small token, little or no standard equipment available.

One thing I do know is convenant is a standard university. I am also of the opinion that a university should be able to run itself.

Education is expensive and that's just the truth, those who can afford it should go for it.

So its Nigerians that built that place... Interesting.

If you are in a place where glo network is good you will enjoy it, still the cheapest for those in good areas.
Family › Re: Culture Vs Legal Law: Who Owns The Child??? by NoToPile: 7:32pm On Nov 24, 2017
macof:
not totally correct, as far as I know, in Yoruba culture, right to paternity is bestowed by the mother of the child; that is if she claims a man as the father, and the man accepts, another man cannot have rights over the child, biological or not
But the paternity of the child is not the subject of argument here, they all know who the father of the child is.

A woman can claim anyone to be the father , that cuts across tribes but at some point fingers pointed to the Igbo dude that he's the father and relatives were there to witness this and there was a denial.

If she had given the pregnancy to another man without alarming the first its a whole different case entirely.

Too many emotional sissies on this thread. They are blind to the names of igbo officers reinstated but are whining about just one aboki. Only God knows what actually transpired on the night they were killed. But the fact is they were not killed because they were ignore because there are more igbo officers among them. Making it an ethnic issue and blaming buhari as if buhari is part of the Senate that reinstated them is just too silly.
When I say nairalanders dont read or lack comprehension it sounds harsh.

I bet 70% of those commentinh didn't read the article. They only saw the boss'es name an aboki and that is just enough to trigger ethnic based responses. They didn't see the Yoruba and ibo name that was reinstated and the other guy that his appeal was rejected.

The story still baffles me, only God knows what happened that day, too many loopholes in the story that left 6 young people dead, but knowing the Nigerian police it could have been anything that triggered those killings.
Family › Re: Culture Vs Legal Law: Who Owns The Child??? by NoToPile:
That's Igbo culture.

The Yoruba guy that married the lady knows its not applicable in Yoruba land, but since his wife is ibo, the wives family would have given him the total rights to the child.

In Yoruba land, the man who impregnates the woman is the father of the child irrespective of whether he marries her or not.

Well I think legally the person who impregnated the lady is the father except in cases of documented adoption .

People must talk sha.

Where I come from its not compulsory to go to your fathers compound in the village to pay dowry, you can have your trad at whatever location your parents are you can even use a rented hall away from whereever your parents are as long as parents of the bride agree with the location. ( weddings are planned and hosted by the brides family in youruba land). Its not a communal thing unlike some traditions.
The koko is the thing must be paid.

Besides who knows whether they have settled the brides (adesuwa) parents in their parlor and now they are just doing feferity. I have seen this happen before, pay the bride price in the parlor and then throw a big party for the same trad marriage( we have too much wahala for partying in this country sef)

What a thread, reminds me of when my cousins came visiting for Christmas some years back and we wanted to dash the son of a cousin one of our local chickens ( they were just 2 in number) and those chickens had already gone out to play.

All hell was let loose, see agbalagbas chasing local chicken. The whole street knew we wanted to catch fowl oo.

It was so difficult to catch, we chase from street enter bush, back to street and finally by a sheer stroke of luck one was caught.

Those local fowls are rugged abeg.

I am not sure what is dishonourable. Culture and tradition is not a thing to pick and choose when convenient. If you don't want this to happen then make a will. If a man dies intestate in Nigeria his estate is subject to Native law and Custom. e.g in Yoruba land a woman does not inherit her husband's property only his children do . Without going into so much detail native law varies from place to place and if the man is a Muslim Sharia law prevails. Under sharia law there is a formula for sharing.

I have realized that some do place tradition/history over the bible.

All I know is the bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. If it can't be proven from the little scriptures we have then its not real .

If you don't follow biblical principles then you are wrong.

Its that simple.

Both are not for 120k sir, just one set.
I'm sorry sir it can't fly for that price. Purchase price was 250k last year February sir and that's just the frame without pillow and mattress. Thanks
Okay what's the last price and location in Lagos?

I am interested in the 4by 6 bed frames plus mattress and pillows. I can see 2 different types the white and cream.
I believe the kiddies bed is the one with red bedsheet

Is it both the 4by 6 plus mattresses that are 120k or just one set.

If just one set is 120k can one 4by6 frame plus mattress and pillows fly for 50k if not how much last.

Location in Lagos pls?

If there is nothing special there, why did you go back for another programhuh?

It seems you really want to be part of the 'brand' by all means.
1 Its in Lagos, I wouldn't want to run a PG program too far away from Lagos for flexibility reasons, it makes sense if you work and live in Lagos to run a PG program in Lagos.

2. Its more or less like a continuation it makes sense for me to run the concluding part where I started, instead of starting all over again somewhere far, already used to the dept and lecturers and you need very good rapport with your supervisors if running a PG program.

It doesn't have anything to do with the being a part of the brand by all means its just convenient.

There's really nothing special about UNILAG and other government owned universities, it sounds harsh but its the truth and I wonder why people find this difficult to admit.

Our universities are below average that's just the truth, does that mean we won't run programs in naija? Of course not.
