Interesting thread, interesting comments.

Just know one cant have it all, some women just want to be taken care of, fully provided for have children and take care of the homefront and it's not a bad thing.

some men love their women that way.

Not everyone has that business drive.

It's your choice bro

hardon1:
90% of the comments here are from unmarried people... Hence I don't take it serious.

The major thing is long throat and lack of contentment in men. Whether you like it or not, the woman you marry today will never remain in same shape for the next 10 years.

As humans, we loose our looks with age be it a man or woman. Am yet to be married but I have conceived within myself that whichever lady I marry, a time will come when her skin will lose its smoothness, her breast will sag, her stomach will bulge from childbirth

When these begin to unfold, I wouldn't see it as a surprise or bore. It's ok for women to try to look good as they age. But men should not abandon their women just because they are out of shape.

Come to think of it, even you the man, your shape and other room performance must have dropped tremendously too
Hahaha long throat, ojukokoro.

It's still the same thing he has said before to all his beneficiaries come back to Naija to continue your education. Shikena.

But you came out, posed like you were going to help them, received accolades, and you dropped them on the way. While it was a good gesture and initiative you took, you expected them to die in silence when they were fending for themselves while you take credits for their well-being?

Why cursing? What relevance is your curse? Did it debunk whatever they said?

You may think the boys don't have other plans before bringing it up! Nowadays, our Samaritans only do it for the attention and award of philanthropy they will receive...not even because they give a f about you.

Talking about the tithes.. The tithes you speak of are still extorted. It isn't yours. So you calm down.

Let me pretend as tho his curses mean anything!
I might not agree to the cursing part but it was public knowledge and all over SM when the man said he was withdrawing the beneficiaries.

The man said everyone under his scholarship should come back to complete their education in Naija or Benin rep that due to dollar rise they can't Contnue with the funding again.
My only question is why didn't they take that offer. It's not like there wasn't an alternative, not like he totally left them out in the cold, they are not the only beneficiary, so why only them.

Dantedasz:
Part of the agreement is technology transfer. The Chinese will employ the unskilled indigenes in the various factories in the free trade zone and train them in the technology of how to produce detergents, bag and box making, shoes production, iron smeltering, and various other items.
That concessions gives the Chinese all the land where they are presently based down to the Igbesa River. The concessions also allows them to construct a mini port for exportation of products to the Lagos end.
It is a terrible agreement.
The company will continue to expand untill the take over half of Igbesa land.
What sort of agreement is this for Christ's sake. Why would the then govt do that? It's sounding very terrible like you stated.

Will the Chinese even keep to their end of the so called agreement?

How many indigenes have they even employed as at now?

We're the indigenes even compensated u the govt or the CHINESE?

Did the Chinese pay for the land or govt compensated them or was it just conceded to them? It's an important factor.

If it's the whole expanse that you are saying down to igbesa river then it's really terrible, what will the indigenes have left?
Politics › Re: Chinese Company Annex 13 Villages In Igbesa Ogun State by NoToPile: 11:16pm On Jun 13, 2023
Dantedasz:
Half of Igbesa land was conceeded to the Chinese Guandong free trade zone by Gbenga Daniel administration . The indigenous people are not aware of this. The indigenes can not win this case because Gbenga Daniel signed off the land for 100 years. I have personally seen the survey plan of that company and I really pity the indigenes because they are not aware of this. As the Ogun Guandong free trade zone develops they will encroach on more villages. That is just the honest truth.
This is terrible. How come the indigenes were not carried along.

100 years

Really terrible o.

ImperialYoruba:
Na Yoruba originate Agbada.

Look, the Arewa symbol that Northern people put on everything, na Yoruba own am.

It is taboo in Islam to identify with image, or so Notherners thought. Right about 1957 when colonial government was looking for a symbol that each region will use for self identification, Hausa North turned down every symbol proposed and claimed it was not in line with Islam. So in frustration, colonial govt began using the Solomon Knot (which is an ancient totem and a heirloom of Yoruba royalty) for any document and state symbol for North. Thats how it became an official symbol for them. Luckily we have pictures of Yoruba Obas that predated 1957 and you can see the weave on their Agbada. However, no picture or representation of the symbol anywhere in North prior to its 1957 adoption. The specific lineage of this totem is Oranmiyan. He bequeathed it to Oyo. From Oyo it gained wide usage in Yoruba.

Dont play with Yoruba when it comes to archived history and culture. We are originators.

I will even go further and say there is a very expensive clothing worn by Ibo women and is called George. Its origin is Yoruba and it was a weave pattern. In modern times that pattern would be patented. The specific Yoruba group that owned and made the weave was Ijebu.

Now, how did it get to Ibo?

Itsekiri traded it with portuguese merchants. From them it got to Calabar. Feom Calabar to Iboland.

I will teach Ibo history of its ancestral journey from nude to semi nude to this modern time copying Yoruba dress style and urbanism.
Interesting points.

Okay Yorubas have made a version of it their traditional wear for a very very long while and northerners wear another version of it shikena

Most of the agbada being sewn nowadays sef no carry weight again, agbada plus buba and sokoto used to be 10 full yards grin

Then in their later years when their children are grown and left the house, those people outside are long gone, same men would accuse the wives they ignored in their youth of now ignoring them in their old age as their wives have divested emotionally.

While she is still faithful and looking forward to being with him and Stay close to him at home, he is busy avoiding her because he got a big fish outside

By the time she discovers that he is not giving her the attention she wants, she will face her directions towards the children who will never ignore her and find solace in them

By the time the man is getting old, he starts coming close to the wife, meanwhile she is already done with him but still living with him

That's when the man will become lonely while he is married to his wife

You can only harvest what you sow that's what this life will offer you

God bless you. You have said it all
Their ROI was unsustainable on the long run, and unfortunately for them so many came out at the same time, leading to competition among them. So they started increasing ROI to look more appealing to investors than their competitions. Unknown to them, they were digging their own graves.

Many of them were building the business and farms and bidding time to stabilize. And stabilizing such businesses takes years. Unfortunately, the SEC new rule broke the camel's back.
A solid point @bolded.

All of them had one thing in common, they're running ponzi scheme. So, they knew how it was gonna end from the start. They just had to divert as much investors money into their own pockets as possible before bubbles would busrt. Simple
You said it yourself that ROI wasn't sustainable. Now, ask yourself, how were they sustaining it in the beginning?
If they were not using Peter's money to pay Paul all along, why couldn't they return the investors money back once they realise that it wasn't sustainable? That's because one quarter of the total money has gone back to investors in form ROIs, another one quarter has gone into payments of workers and other bonuses they're always paying their agents and another one quarter in the private accounts of the ponzi scheme CEOs and probably, they used the remaining one quarter to set up their crappy facilities to deceive the "investors" grin grin grin
I don't think the bolded is right for 'some' of them. MMM is a typical Ponzi, I wouldn't call this a typical ponzi.

Some were legit businesses with physical farms, physical products with legit intentions besides the crowd funding model has been around for a long time and people were getting returns from their investment

It became digitalized that's all and boom.

3 major problems

1. The ROIs were too high well I guess they did it to attract customers.

2. I still think they had too much funds and mismanagement began, these people raised bastard money imagine selling 10,000 units of a farm for 50k each and it gets sold old in a day. That's a whole lot of money and your fingers could get itchy.

3. The business failed, lots of businesses packed up 2021-2023

4. Sec regulation hit the final blow on most of them.

Some may have had intention to fraud but not all.

Nigerians are too gullible ...even though our youths are many in the 419 business , our people are too gullible ...we fall for any business venture especially if the return is so high . Everyone saw how MMM ended some peoples life .. they didn't learn from it.

There is one called Oxford that operates with several offices in gowon estate ...he goes with many securities ...you might even thunk he is the owner of Nigeria. Many times his field staff will approach me with there flyers stating all there business ventures ...I know many guys whose money are hanging in that establishment ...Pls shine your eyes ...anything that gives you big return quickly is not always a legit business
You see that Oxford group, there is nothing they are / were into, nothing. They also sold pepper farm that year I think.

Real estate, oil and gas, consultancy, agriculture kilode. It's just too much and it raised an eyebrow from me.

How much is Tomatoes , that someone will be promising 20- 36 % ROI . Sad to hear many people were defrauded.
Funny enough I doubt perishable products like tomatoes were advertised like that it was stuff like catfish, soya, rice, poultry in different forms etc.

Either way the ROI was the problem from my view because some of them truly had farms or my 2nd postulation is they got so much funds they began to embezzle out of it.

Imagine a farm raising 50-100 million plus within weeks, so much money.

Agritech investments that year grin

Most of them ran down due to debt I guess not necessarily scam, intention to scam or ponzi it was more of crowd funding.

The ROIs they promised seemed not sustainable in the long run and then there was one Sec policy that came later on.

Then came the emails upon emails with orishirishi explanations and then they just went quiet.

I still feel the problem was from the ROIs, 15-20% seemed much if you ask me some were even higher grin.

I want to think if there are still any one of them in business (which I doubt) it will be the ones with max 10%RO1.

There is/was an agritech investment thread on NL.

Even men know that men should provide. That is why if they sniff that the woman has the upperhand, they would say she married the man or she is the husband.

Men sat and divided themselves into groups. Alfa, beta, redpill, simp...etc. But when it gets to a woman picking a man, they try to bully her into accepting anything with a penis. You don't and they have a derogative name for you. I hope these women LEARN.
