Business › Re: Was I Scammed By The Bank Or POS Operator? by NoToPile: 3:51pm On Jul 07, 2023
I just feel sometimes these monies hang somewhere in between and if you don't pursue it otilooor.

It gets debited and is successful from your banks end but the money doesn't drop into POS account.

I have lost about 6000 to this matters.

2 weeks back I withdrew 10k from a moniepoint pos at Alaba int with my Gtb card, it was declined and I was debited of the 10200 and I just used it to pay for goods at another shop not up to 5mins.

Worst part there was no paper to print from the POS she asked for my acc details and filled a form on the POS for reversal.

On my way home less than got my 10200 reversal in about 20mins. I was happy ehn.

Last year I tried withdrawing 5k from my POS customer, it showed declined what I didn't know was I was debited and the POS lady's account was later credited. I didn't get alert and I didn't even know 5k was removed from my acc. About 6 weeks later she saw me and said she had been looking for me that she thinks my card was debited that day and we would need to confirm it was me.

I guess when they were balancing account for that day they saw excess 5k. I brought my atm card and we confirmed the first and last 4 numbers I think and it was the same as that particular transaction. She gave me the 5k I was surprised honestly.

Who noticed this?

Is Soyinka telling him indirectly you don't have a say in Ilorin? shocked
I noticed it, well that statement speaks volumes.

Though not really a lover of those their isese practices as a christain but everyone has a right to their religion and to practice it.

It's still the Yorubas in Ilorin that are against it, that it is fetish.

Education › Re: After having Said And Done, I Realized I Got 249 - Mmesoma Ejikeme by NoToPile: 11:37pm On Jul 05, 2023
And I actually felt it was a glitch/technical error from Jambs end

So she still didn't admit where she got that slip from.

Well another lesson is the disadvantage of SM, probably. SM peeps milked this case unnecessarily, maybe Jamb would have looked the other way if not for the noise.

She would still have applied to the uni with her 249 score now no 249, no Jamb for the next 3 years probably no USA scholarship promised by the Facebook people.

At least all the ethnic warriors can now rest.

I do find it strange though that some male folks are advising the OP to collect his 7 month old daughter from the mom.

Can he take care of a 7 month old child, who would want to separate a 7 month old from the mum except Nlders, it's not like she's not fit or something he is only complaining about the environment which seems to be as a result of poverty and actually it's no fault of hers.

You guys think a court will give custody of a baby to the man on the account that she's living in a poor environment? grin

If he's not comfortable with where his baby is living he can change that.

And these are just children, sorry OP for your dilemma in this kind economy. It is well.

The sister too won't want to leave the children out without her care, even the Aunty will already be tired supporting them.

You are not wrong, your wife is also not wrong.

I feel for those kids.

I honestly think there was a technically error from jamb and Jamb is to be blamed for this brouhaha which they will never admit.

What I can't relate with is the ethnic coloration to this issue despite the fact that the person who they claimed to be the original high scorer is from the same state and region as this girl.

So what would now have happened if the overall scorer stated by Jamb is from another region? I can't even imagine.

Imagine that tweet stating it's an attack on the entire igbo race , no be una pikin them still tok say win am?

Education › Re: Let The Poor Breath: Innoson Demands Investigation Into Mmesoma's JAMB Results by NoToPile: 8:18pm On Jul 03, 2023
My only question in all of these is how was the result manipulated? Did they have access to Jamb server abi what? Why are they not answering the How part?

My take is there was/is a major glitch or breach or error on jamb servers, the girl truly printed the result she claimed only for them to correct whatever went wrong (which is till even in doubt) and then blame her of manipulating it.

Jamb will never admit something was wrong on their end,

There's something wrong with the Jamb system, servers whatever they call it. A very major glitch and they are sweeping it under the carpet. Why they are trying to rope this girl into this nonsense is what I don't understand.

I still don't think Jamb is ready for this CBT stuff.

OluwaLina1:
Happy sunday nairalanders.
I moved to a new area(Student area) and decided to attend a nearby church.

These are what I noticed.

-- I was the only one that used scarf.Even the choristers and the female ministers didn't use scarf.

--Almost all the female members are putting on trousers, ladies that put on gowns/skirt are not up to 20%.
I was even surprised that the two female ministers and the female choristers also put on trouser to climb the church alter.

--During prayer intersection,I noticed everybody were praying in tongues and it seems am the only person not filled with the holy spirit to speak in tongues.
Even when we were asked to pray on our offering, people still prayed in tongues.

And it just seems I'm odd among them or is it that am not modernized?
Please go to another church. There's nothing wrong with you.Find one that you can relate with.

Lots of churches allow all sorts in their youth churches and branches in campus areas and there are some that are like this down to their HQ

I personally won't be comfortable in some churches.

Funny enough we have not bought fuel at new price, been managing the full tank for Sunday church only. No unnecesary cruising except major market runs.

Luckily we also have very constant light around 22 hours or more so no need for Gen, now if the Nepa goes on break we wait instead of putting the Gen on.

I don't even believe that story one bit, but I am not in for arguments. GT recruitment is always open. It has always been open since 1804. If she got a link, then it was open. Staff were also allowed to bring in CVs then and this was the case with Zenith and UBA It wasn't a big deal, just dividends of working in that bank. The think is people get basic privileges and amplify it to look like it was the MD that created a space in the banking school for them. We that have gone to banking schools know we could all identify ourselves right from the day we wrote test in our different zones. It is rare to see a strange face just drop into the training school.
I guess the bolded was my friends case BUT It was amplified as a really big deal.
Family › Re: Please What Can I Do At This Stage? by NoToPile: 4:41pm On Jun 30, 2023
NigeriaIsGreat:
why was she given a training school slot when her mate had gone through series of test to reduce the population? If she was allowed to follow due process she probably wouldn't make it to the training school. I believe anyone who passed through the four walls of class rooms in the university without sorting should be able to scale through training school

Moreover, that doesn't mean those who didn't make it to training school aren't good though. It's just a game of numbers. They had to reduce them to the minimal amount of staff they want.

If Nestle can demonstrate God fatherism for her contract staff employees, i wouldn't be surprised they are also doing that for full staff.
I think you are wrong with the bolded, that one fails these training schools doesn't mean the person sorted back in school or is not intelligent.
Family › Re: Please What Can I Do At This Stage? by NoToPile: 4:31pm On Jun 30, 2023

I don't believe anyone just shows up inside a multinational or private firm without being tested somehow. Like the person who claims to know someone that got a training school slot, makes no sense given that people fail training school every other month. I would only be intrigued if the girl showed up inside the bank without passing through training school or failed training sch and still got the job.

Every one I know in these top companies are hot upstairs. Never seen one that didn't look like they deserve the spot.
That what I thought and know as the truth that's also why I made that caveat for the permanent staff but apparently they are insinuating it's no longer so.

You might know someone but you still have to pass.

My friends friend gave her link to apply I don't think it was an open recruitment she got into Gtb in 2014 or 15 I think. She had a first class in sciences and she passed training school. she said people failed. She did have a link working there but she had to pass training school.

UnfairLife7:
They do that very well for full staff also. I may not have the experience for that of Nestle but I've had the experience in the financial sector as a full staff. They employ their own candidate mostly at the end and probably pick one or two random person. This is practice very well in private sector not only government institutions. A friend also had the same experience. Her female cousin got a slot for training school of one particular bank. She's done with training school and earning 285k now. It was her man friend that linked her up. If Nestle can shortchanged and swapped the name of her contract staff employees. I'm not sorry to say that they are more than capable of doing that for full staff employees also. They lack integrity
Interesting.... So this slot matter has finally entered private firms even multinationals.

Weevel77 listen carefully do not call out any king on SM, your 30k was probably presented as a Gift to him, more like wetting ground for him to help you talk to who he knows in the company. Did he ask for the 30k? Most likely not, your uncle felt the 30k gift will push start the king to talk to those who knows in the company.

Now It didn't work out so you guys can't ask for the 30k back. Infact if you go and meet him one on one can you ask for the envelope back?

If you like allow some peeps to push you unnecessarily.

I am talking as someone that my line of job makes my self and collegues meet with some of these baales and kings a lot. There's a time to do PR and there's a time to not.

As for Nestlé, people around this Agbara axis know how it rolls within the multinationals there, Unilever own nko.

Understand that the top Nestlé management will pay an outsourcing firm for recruitment and normally it should be recruitment process where the best are selected, it is people like you or I who are opportuned to be Ogas that swap the names from outsourcing firm especially as it's for contract staffing

Such may not occur for experienced hires or their graduate trainee program, even if you know someone you will have to be capable.

My own inlaws never visited my self and their brother until 8 months after we got married like his siblings never even came to know the apartment we rented coz he changed apartment.

Now my father inlaw did come to greet me at home with gifts after I had my baby despite the fact that we would still go to his place for the naming ceremony in few days, some Father inlaws wouldn't bother coming since we were still going over there with the baby.

We visited them few weeks after we got married the next time we visited and I think he noticed I was pregnant he called me on phone few days later that we should pls not visit him again for now grin grin I guess he didn't really want people around him to see me belleful
We respected his opinion and stayed away, I didn't make a fuss about it.

Most people idea of island does not go beyond Ajah.
I lived the greater part of my life on the mainland. Before the Lagos Badagry express way was constructed it was hell for people living on that axis. I could remember trekking from volks to Okoko because of the terrible roads. I visited the mainland this February and we were robbed in the traffic between Barracks gate to volks. I still have scars from that robbery episode. I get panic attacks when I remember it. We all can't live on the mainland.
With the 2nd phase of the road construction project project from Eleko junction to Abraham Adesanya the traffic issues will soon ease off. This area is gradually developing and has prospect.
My family's little investment here will still be beneficial to my children in the nearest future.

On the food aspect, people still go to Epe to restock for the month. Kara market is even closer than Epe. So living is a choice!

It is easier and faster for me when traveling outside Lagos. I'd get to my destination before anyone travelling from the mainland.

On people who choose to livie fake lives,it's their choice.
This part of the island is not as congested as people think.
We get fresh air from the ocean atleast free from the pungent gutter smell that is synonymous with 'Lagos'.
Eyah kpele I can relate with the mad traffic back then. But we came we saw and we have conquered on that road.

barracks - Agric - Volks at night with traffic is a bad combo it always been like that will probably always still be that way so sorry for your experience.

The lekki phase 4 statement had me in stitches though.

As for the Gen part, it's true people no dey on Gen again, we have relatively stable light where I stay and all those who put on Gen immediately Nepa takes a break have stopped.

Peeps mostly wait for Nepa. As tarrif is now increasing on Saturday well maybe people will be switching of for some hours to save costs.
