FamilyRe: Genotype Issue. Please Be Rational ( I Am Not A Religious Person) by NuCypher: 10:16pm On Jul 09, 2023
Bolt458:
I am not writing this for religious people to come with their funny talks, I am just putting this out here to hear from people who might have tried this methods or who heard about this methods and still proceeded or did not. I want to hear your experience. I have been dating someone for 5 years now, it happened that I began to see her as someone I would want to spend my life with. Last year we did our genotype test and we were both AS. Now , I know some of you will say this should be the first thing you ask when you meet someone but c’mon, would you say people in university that are dating now, would ask their sef that question? That theory is only feasible when you are single and ready to get married and want to start a new relationship, then you can always ask, but we all know some of our relationships started when we no Dey even see marriage in the nearest future, all of a sudden you just see them as the right person and you take the bold step. Now, I had to meet my family doctor here in Canada, I explained to him my current situation and he referred me to a GENETIC COUNSELOR. I am trying to take the necessary steps cause I am not ready to bring in a child with Sickle cell to this world, and I am not leaving anything to faith. A fone appointment was set with the counselor and we spoke at length. She told me that in every foetus, there is a 25% chance that we can get an SS child. Now , how do we mitigate this percentage to the barest minimum I asked as I am not even ready to bring in a sickler to this world. She gave me three options, I would rather say two because the last involves test when the baby comes, and that is out of the question.

Option 1:
A) CVS: They take a sample of the fluid in the womb through her vagina, at 12 weeks to test, if it’s good then fine, if not we have to terminate.

OR

B) At 16 weeks, they take the fluid using a needle directly from her womb, and if it’s SS , they terminate. Both procedures are cover by the government and we don’t need to pay a dime.

Now, she assured me that abortion is a very safe procedure if done properly, and it is even a bigger risk that one can die from a penicillin injection or carrying a pregnancy to term than any harm during an abortion.I know many people would come here and say abortion is this and that but let us be frank to ourselves. If you were told that the child in your womb would have cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome or a neurological disorder, would you still keep that pregnancy? Is there a 100% assurance that two AA people would give birth to a healthy baby? I have come to a realization that pregnancy is just a risk that people take, cus you really don’t know how your child would turn out.

Option 2:
PGD. This is just like IVF, where they would select the genotype before they insert back to the womb. She told me the government doesn’t cover this, and it could cost between $10K- $40k. However she mentioned, just like IVf, it is not guaranteed as it can fail and your money is gone.

I discussed this with my girl in Nigeria and she said she was fine with option 1a. I then asked her, that if the first, second are SS would she still remove it. She accepted. I would not lie to you, this girl is everything I want in a woman. I am not just looking at just love because I know love fades with time, but she is a really nice person, and has a good character. She has always been like this from my days in Nigeria because I was with her before I moved outside. Now after finding out our genotype, I tried to get into a relationship with AA. The first one Dey nigeria, she is a nice person, beautiful, but I just didn’t like her or feel attracted to her. She got tire and we just free ourselves, the second one is here in Canada, I just don’t like this one . Please note, I never slept with any of these ladies because I feel it’s not fair.

Now my question is for those who knew all this and still proceeded, how did it work out for you?

I repeat, don’t come here to tell me about how abortion is this and dat. Cus I know if they tell any of you that your child would be abnormal, 90% of you will go for the abortion
Gerrard59, my man, is that you? grin

Greetings all.

I work in a company and my take home is 450k after tax. My problem is I have been thinking of a skill to learn as this job would not last forever. Aside this job I do not have a skill and as a man I feel one should have a long lasting skill. Please any suggestions would be welcomed aside from online skills. Thank you .
You are right to think this way. Don't let anybody discourge you from this line of thinking. When I was in Nigeria, I was earning an average of 2.5m per month, but I had the same problem as you. The job offered no long-lasting skill. You should be worried if any job you are doing is offering you no long-lasting skill, regardless of the amount you are making. Pick up a skill in tech. There is no shortage there: cybersecurity, data analytics, software development, etc. Gain yourself something that will last a lifetime. At this stage of your thinking, you are already on the way there.

Stop comparing yourself to the ladies.

We don't have the same privileges. They have all the chances to live and experience a better life.

They might never go hungry. They might drive the latest version of car, they might live in the best apartment in the city, use the latest technology, fly first class.

But you as a man will have to suffer to become someone or experience these things. Working should be your moto.

Suffer today so you can have a better life tomorrow, don't compare yourself with your sisters, don't hate the females in your city for living a life more than you.

We are different, a man must suffer to become someone of importance. That's why you must understand what is taking your time and little money and cut off with them.

You identify your wastrel in your life. In this journey of life, a man's worst enemy is idle time.

Let this message scare you, wake up and stop comparing yourself with the females. A broke man is nothing even to his family. A broke girls is something to her family members.

Don't be delusional, we are different and our chances are not the same to smile or be respected. A broke guy is not respected, he has no value to his community, they laugh at you when you walk by, the beautiful ladies call you loser. Get up.

Get up! Be scared of your future.

#BLAZE
Excellent words! It would have made even more sense if you said "a broke girl is something to some man out there". There is no shortage of men looking to play a saviour to a woman, even if she's dead broke.

Hello guys, I want to thank you all for your contribution on this EE partway it’s not easy, well I have some questions to ask.

I have Bsc in Management information technology (MIT) at benin republic and I do not have any work experience in my study field but I have work experience in other job which is barbing, I have 12 years experience and I own a salon which is registered under CAC. I do not have work experience in Tech but I Know little about Tech

So my questions are!!
1) How do I prove work experience as a salon owner?
2)Is there any possibility that barber can receive ITA from the EE or PNP?
3) Is barber as a profession high in demand in canada?

Thanks
You should claim work experience as a self-employed individual. Look here at how someone claimed points for self-employment.

Yes, a barber can receive ITA from the express entry pool, should you want to claim employment experience. Barbers are TEER 3 and that qualifies.

No, barbing is not a profession in high demand in Canada for a couple of reasons: most people can cut their hair themselves, so they don't need a barber. Even then, many Nigerians who are doing this work do it in their homes and, as a result, can charge very low ($10-20) to get it done. They can do that because they often have second jobs and barbing is a side hustle. You can't live on charging customers $10-20 per cut as a barber, except you are doing it as a side hustle. Finally, you can only serve a restricted market (Nigerians, and maybe some other Africans). You can't cut hair for Oyinbo people because you don't know how to manage their kind of hair, at least not yet. Most Oyinbo people won't even let you cut their hair because you have no knowledge of how to handle it.

There is no nothing like back up in the first place, for example, there was never any alternative way of escape should anything go wrong with the submarine, not even at 100ft, yet they were going for 12kft or so. There was nothing to balloon their body out of the deep ocean to the surface should anything like implosion happens. Above all, there had been issue on the safety of the submarine
There was never going to be a ballooning of their body or the submersible, if an implosion occured. A catastrophic implosion describes exactly that: it's catastrophic. Nothing survives. The sub was however equipped with balasts that could bring it up and could be manually or automatically deployed. It was in fact once deployed in some of their earlier trips in the sub.

Leebeedo:
I'll answer the question for you, no worry. As it stands now, Nigeria's economy is heavily dependent on the exchange rate btw Naira and Dollar because the economy is almost 100% import driven. Even the fuel that cranes use at the sea port to offload containers are imported and we pay for the fuel in dollars. Cost of dollar goes up, running cost at the seaport goes up which will eventually increase service cost.......trickle down economics!
That explanation is insufficient. Fuel is the worst example you could use. Nigeria generates its own crude and there's supposedly a refinery which should come into operation shortly and which, again, is supposedly able to meet the country's local needs. In effect, your explanation does not justify a near 40% increase in rates.
AutosRe: Naira Devaluation Pushes Up Vehicles Duties By 40% by NuCypher: 8:09am On Jun 26, 2023
The bigger question is if the customs is transacting in dollars or naira? This is a very important question we should be asking, if the government itself can start dollarizing the economy. Last I checked, we spend naira in Nigeria, not dollars.

Teenager is ARRESTED for attending class at his Ontario Catholic high school after he was suspended for challenging transgender ideas: Boy, 16, says he's just 'expressing religious beliefs'
Two things:

I probably don't need to read this article to know that

1. He deliberately provoked his arrest by attending school when he'd been told to clearly stay away
2. There's no point being militant about what's been taught in schools. There are legal pathways to explore, if anyone is dissatisfied with school content

And then again, this probably shows "catholic" schools are not as "safe" as Nigerians imagine.

Dogalmighty17:
THERE has been a rather marked loosening of immigration controls by most Western governments in the last decade. A great number of our intellectuals, skilled peoples and professionals in Nigeria have moved out or are planning to do so for a promise of a better life. That's fair.

As much as it appears as if the West has opened its doors, the underlying truth is shocking.

Anyone who has undergone a rudimentary economics class will of course have fair knowledge of what is called a tax base. You need a vibrant working population that can be taxed to run an economy. Most Western economies however, are running into a demographic time bomb. They are facing an aging population and a lesser number of young people in the workforce. The greater number of the aged puts pressure on the social welfare blanket. With fewer young people paying into these social welfare programs, with fewer young people carrying out economic activities, the social safety net gets depleted faster.

When an economy grows to a certain size, it needs a certain population figure that must be sustained otherwise everything crumbles. The death rate in the West is greater than its birth rate. Japan is already panicking. China recently reversed its 1 child policy. The damage however may appear to have been done. They won't wait for their population to grow because it is impossible at this point. It is faster to import immigrants.

Furthermore, an aging Western population needs healthcare professionals. They do not have enough young people going into these fields. Even worse, the performance of young people in STEM courses across the West, has been dropping. Recent US test scores is an example.

So what does the West do? They resort to 'siphoning' professionals all across Africa and Nigeria is a major focal point.

The West is drawing the best out of Nigeria. Indeed they are hollowing us out. It is slavery 2.0. It will get worse. The West will keep incentivising our best to come over and Nigeria will keep suffering as a result.

In effect, Nigeria has no hope of advancement. Not when the West is ready to absorb the best we produce. It is not their fault however. Our government and their incompetence are the cause.
This would have made sense if the major country in the world with a depleting younger population, Japan, had an expansive immigration policy whereby it's "importing" Africans. However, that's not the case. They do not. So, that defeats your theory.

While you are partially right on a country needing a tax base to sustain its living, you also forget that if such country innovates rapidly and is able to meet its needs by exporting innovative products and some of its resources, then it doesn't need to expand its immigration program. This is the case with a country like the US. It really doesn't need many more immigrants. At this point, incoming immigrants are merely surplus to requirements. It's enough that it continues to innovate, and this can be done both by smart people in its own country or smart people they bring in from other countries.

Couldn't have said it better. The best option is to simply stay back in Nigeria, and even that isn't entirely enough. Only, this time, the society and the school will discourage your child from all things LGBTQIA+ in every way. Doesn't mean they can't still pick it up. At least bobrisky didn't have to go to Canada to pick it up.

no one is saying they are immune. But shoving it down their throats in schools, inviting drag queens and encouraging kids to transition is total bull shit .
The school, the society and parents help raise every child. There may be no chance to "shove it down their throats in schools", but there'll be numerous chances to shove it down their jugular in the society. If you teach your kids what they need to know and you are actively present in their knowledge gathering, it won't matter whether you send them to a catholic school or not. Living in the Canadian society is enough LGBTQIA+ influence in itself.

Very good point you raised. Everyone is an IT "expert". LOL. So what is your area of specialisation ?
The truth is that you don't have to be an "IT expert" to teach people. As long as you have a job somewhere and you are favourably discharging your duties, you can bring anyone up to speed to your level. It doesn't need you to be a guru. Bottomline, what most people do at work is the most basic things that can be easily taught. The most important thing is for the student who is looking for a teacher to rightly assess the teacher's qualifications and/or previous students to see if that teacher is the right fit for them before committing to a session.

If anyone is waiting for an "IT expert" to teach them, then they should be ready to pay through their nose. The average IT expert's time is worth at least $80 per hour. Not many people (outside of organizations) can pay that. In addition, most won't even find delight in teaching beginner/intermediate stuff. You are better off going to public MOOCs to learn or meet the average Joe who is working 9-5 somewhere, but has a passion to impart knowledge.
