Romance › Re: Reality Every Guy Need To Know ( STRICTLY REDPILL) ... by NuCypher: 1:39am On Aug 08, 2023 |
UppaZakum: 1. I agree I made a mistake in the regard. There are a lot of things I delegated to her to run for me while I'm at work. Eg interfaces with guys working on site, exchange money for me at bureau de change, pays the kids tuition fees and any other school related fees etc. Most time, I do not have the time to do all of these so I delegate the responsibilities to her and she needs to be able to make transfers. But that will be taken care of now.
2. Indeed. That has been my original plan and it appears that will be my final verdict. I have enrolled her in a data analyst training here in Naija to allow her at least keep her brain busy and earn some money while at home. but since that training ended, she has not put it into any good use. She's not even making any effort. This is someone who has a masters degree. Some women just become so lazy when their husband is doing well and taking care of all their needs. Although she's been applying for jobs lately. From what I have discovered so far, she prefers all these white collar jobs.
3. Exactly. I don't understand the obsession with the Nursing degree. It is up to her to remain submissive. Any act of insubordination will be treated the redpill way.
4. Thanks for this suggestion. Will definitely take it into consideration.
5. While I know her to a large extent to be loyal and submissive, it'd be risky to assume same will happen in a different environment and under different circumstances. It's like trusting the loyalty of a broke man without money to fund his temptations. Money reveal peoples' real character especially women. I have at several times cancelled the plan. She will only get sad and try to talk me out of it. If I insists and say 'No', that's it, she doesn't bother me again. Whenever I bring it up again, she will laugh at me and try to scold me about raising her hope again. . Your summary says it all. While there are few exceptional women who will stand by their men against all odds, the statistics shows that a vast majority of these women show their husbands shege once they relocate abroad. Apart from our parents, it is hard to tell who really has our best interest at heart. Without the gift of foresight, I'd rather take a risk averse approach and thread with caution. All lizards lie on their stomachs, but we cannot tell which has a stomach-ache
I think the learnings for me are: 1. it appears I'm on the right track. My concerns are valid and should not be tossed aside. 2. She should explore the work from home options while she takes time to integrate into the new environment. 3. Have enough fail safe options back at home. If she wants to go ahead with the Nursing, I will not stop her but let her know she's on her own. She can save her own money or work long enough to save money for it.
Thanks Guys. Sadly, your wife doesn't appear resourceful. This should give you concerns. If she has a master's degree and has completed a data analytics training and she's not using any of that, what are the chances she won't get frustrated after two months of nursing training? It seems to me she's only looking at the good side of things and unwilling to labour through the difficult sides. That's disturbing. When I read your first post, I immediately got the feeling she was one of those who get excited at traveling abroad without realistically understanding that it's a different environment and things can become very challenging. You, on the other hand, are demonstrating a very impressive and logical understanding of the situation. I really admire your outlook. I also quit a job paying me over 3m per month to travel abroad and take a new degree. That's no lie. If you wanna see proof, I can arrange to share that with you. The way you are thinking now was the exact way I thought about it. Your logic reminds me of my approach. I planned and planned and planned. I had money to live my way through for 2 years, in case I didn't get a job. I never stopped planning. Ultimately, you are the one who knows your wife. You've lived with her a while, so you should know a thing or two to help you make quality decisions. But if I were you, I'd insist that there's simply no funding for the nursing programme. Check out how she takes it. If she starts to throw a fit for a programme she isn't going to pay for with her own money, that's a red flag. And please insist and don't change your mind. Of course, that may not be your ultimate intention as you may be willing to finally fund this for her. But the way she takes it should say a lot. It's not her money, after all, and she should demonstrate no entitlement to it. I think you could hold the card to finally fund it eventually when you guys get to the US, because, let's face it, it could really help your family. But it seems her unenterprising side isn't seeing the full picture just yet. Finally, I think you should get her to start doing something NOW. Let her start applying for a job with her degrees and her data analytics certificate. If she continues to be lackadaisical about applying for a job and exerting herself now, I don't see how she plans to do with when she gets to the US. That's also a big red flag if she thinks she only needs to wait to get to the US before starting something. Big red flag. In summary, let her get engaged with something now and see what her attitude is like. Let her start bringing in some money as soon as possible and pay for some stuff in the house. You need to start seeing her provider side and how she'll handle the consequences or nonconsequences of that. |

Silversufer: How about I take a break for the meantime. What do you suggest? My recommendation to you will be to not take that break. I figure you are very young, but you shouldn't let this new passion detract you from what is real. Trust me, you may regret it in the future if you do not complete that degree. At this point, it doesn't matter what you finish with, even if it's a third class. Just try finish the degree. Think about it like this, there are people who have combined their studies and their learning of something different on the side. So, it shouldn't be rocket science. You too can do it. Don't think you need to drop out of school to assimilate better. Furthermore, it's not like school is completely stopping you from learning your stuff by the side. Just prioritize your efforts and put more effort into what you want to learn. |

Silversufer: Hello nairalanders. I am in urgent need of advice for my predicament. I wrote my final exam papers early this year but I have 2 more extra year due to some exams I still have to write and my industrial training. My GP is terrible and I'm generally bad at academics as a result of my course of study which I absolutely detest. Now, I'm learning video editing and motion design online and I am getting good at it. I am contemplating dropping out of school entirely to focus on this field as it has proven to be very lucrative for others in it. I haven't told anyone this yet but I need your advice please. Should I ditch school completely and focus on my craft or waste 2 years in school finishing a course I have zero interest in? Try finish your school. If you are an excellent video editor in Nigeria, it won't matter that you graduated with third class. But it will matter a lot that you did not graduate at all. That will always hang over your head. I know friends who are earning fat salaries working as software engineers because they taught themselves how to code. However, having that third class degree they graduated with was one of the things that got their foot in the door in the first place. |

Can Niger even police their airspace ?
Do they have total radar coverage or the resources to enforce a total airspace lockdown?
They've only two rusty SU-25s and zero SAMs.
The junta is a joke. Radar coverage or not. No airline takes that risk when there's an express instruction of closure |

Zeewirld: ✓Which province/city would you suggest my family and I settle.
✓Which province/city supports business persons more in terms of getting customers easily and government supports?
✓Which period/time of the year would you suggest I land?
✓Would you suggest I transition to Tech or continue in the financial sector.
Please assist. First and foremost, nobody knows your situation better than you do. You are the one in the best position to decide where you should go. Add to that the fact that people may offer you several opinions which are likely to confuse you even more, you find you are better off doing your research yourself and arriving at your own conclusions. Nevertheless, let me give this a go. Given the list you drew up, I'd say you are better off in Ontario if you want to do business. However that depends on the nature of the business. If your business is mostly going to serve people of Nigerian heritage and can only be delivered physically, then Ontario is likely your best bet. That's where you'll find the most Nigerian. Perhaps, Calgary comes second here. If your business can be delivered online, then you can stay anywhere actually. Doesn't matter. Edmonton, Calgary, wherever you want. Most provinces will offer support to small businesses. So there's no reason to choose one over the other here. Period of year to land is probably summer, from around late April to September, if only because it allows you move around without worrying too much about the cold. And you are going to move around a lot in your first few weeks, especially if you are renting or buying a home. Summer is also probably most favorable if you want to start your business immediately since you'll be doing a lot of running around too. Still, it doesn't matter too much. People have arrived and moved around in winter without a lot of worry. It's just a lot more complicated and you'll worry about transportation. Are you doing business or working? You need to make up your mind. Don't make the mistake of coming to Canada and unsurely going about your settling down. If you are very good at your finance, stick to it. Get additional certifications, put together a nice resume and start looking for opportunities immediately. You don't need to dabble into Tech if you are an excellent finance person, except you just want to complement your skills and sell yourself in part as a financial analyst with impressive Tech skills by the side. However, if you are not confident about your finance skills or you think they are inadequate or non-lucrative, then you can consider going into Tech. Start with something you think you can do easily or something you can build on. For example, a good pivot for a former finance person is business analysis or financial modelling. You can do a few certificates here and there, and reconstruct your resume to sell that side of you. If you have the brain for it though, go for cyber security, frontend development or data science. Those are good ones with a lot of job opportunities. If you are even smarter and can take the pressure, go for software development. In doing all of this, make sure to make up your mind once and follow through. Don't dilly-dally. |

$200. How did he ever end up in such situation? He has no proof of funds? I wish I could help, but I'm not in Toronto at the moment. If he's unable to find someone, I suggest he goes to the nearest Canada branch of his church from Nigeria, e.g. celestial, redeemed, etc, if he's a Christian. That may help. Otherwise, he can go to YMCA's closest branch or salvation army. He may also find help there if he explains himself, though they are also likely to ask about his visa status and proof of funds, etc. If they can't help him directly, they'll surely provide needed assistance in finding the right shelter to at least get him started. There are also a few city shelters out there for temporary stay. He can google to get their addresses and go to the nearest one. |

hazinibones: Hello Nairalanders,
I have this decision bothering me. I know it is a personal problem, but I believe everyone need some guidance at every point in life.
Straight to it, I have been considering Japa for over two years now and I think the opportunity might be here but I am having a cold feet.
I recently started working for a foreign company as a software engineer and the pay is decent when converted to Naira. Enough to live an averagely comfortable life. But my challenge now is that, I have been talking to some friends that are outside the country and they keep telling me how life is not easy there and cost of living is super expensive out there.
I currently earn $3000, which I plan to either save and travel or startup a business here in Nigeria. Please, Nairalanders with experience, is it worth japa to live an almost average life for almost the rest of your life or investing here in Nigeria and growing wealth?
The healthcare and quality education benefit is there as an advantage for japa though.
Thanks in advance for your responses! The best advice you can get, in your situation, is to continue applying for remote jobs and also jobs in your country of choice (US, UK or Canada). For the first case, if you get a remote job while in Nigeria, you can increase your earnings a lot to, say, $6k and be in a better situation in Nigeria, in which case you don't need to japa. $6k in Nigeria and not paying taxes is the best situation you want to be in. Alternatively, if you get a better job outside of Nigeria and they sponsor your work visa, then you are better off. Only make sure that the job pays you way more than your current earnings, after factoring in taxes, accommodation, etc. The mistake you shouldn't make is leaving your job to japa. |

The japa is real but they can do it quietly. Honestly, it's not a fault of character that Nigerians are loud. It's a consequence of a society where, if you are not loud, you may suffer unendingly and get the short end of the stick each time. |

Mopefe: Why not share the information for many to benefit rather than contacting you, just come out that you need the referral benefit. Lots of schools offer refer to earn.
I have met lots of good Nigerians here but the ones that go extra miles want something in return. Meanwhile, there's a running scam in such schools where, in the end, both the school and the referrer just want to dip their hands into your student loan. Some of the students don't even go to school after collecting the student loan. And then, someone will now go and use the student loan to make a down payment for a house. What kind of foolery is that? You take a loan and use it to go "take another loan", so to speak. But Nigerians have never surprised me with their foolery. On the one hand, you'll be paying the student loan and on the other the mortgage. Later you will say your village people followed you to Canada and can't quit the Amazon warehouse job that you must hold to keep up payments! Crazy! |

Kaycipher: Thanks, but then their birth certificate carries their mother's name alongside mine, so it might raise an eyebrow later when I want to move them.
What's your take please? Bro, you should seek professional legal advice. You shouldn't expect to get the best advice on this subject on nairaland. Everyone will just say their opinion and move on, whereas ultimately it's your application and whatever happens is in your own hands. If your ex-spouse comes out tomorrow to claim that you guys were married, what would you do? Refer back to the people on NL who were offering you advice? Religious institutions are as much an authority on marriage as are courts in Nigeria. If you were married at a religious institution, I'd like to believe you were concretely married. But then, that's only my opinion. Only a lawyer can tell you exactly what obtains and that professional advice is what you should seek. Don't be in a hurry to fill up an application that may backfire. Ensure your i's are properly dotted and your t's effectively crossed. |

Kaycipher: Thanks for your response. There's no denial here. Like I said earlier certificate was issued by the religious institution. Going for legal divorce in Nigeria is not 'beans' and it can get very complicated. I'm hoping it won't get to that. Maybe separation papers may suffice instead of going through the divorce paperwork If you don't finalize the divorce, things could get quickly complicated for you if your ex-spouse writes IRCC. If you are not clear about your situation, it will amount to misrepresentation. |

Kaycipher: @ednut1 I see your points here. Like I said earlier, we were married before but no legal documents backing it up as the wedding didn't involve court, it's only traditional and/religious. Now we're separated. Obviously, no legal documents to back that up either since the wedding didn't take place in court.
There's no "separated" except "legally separated/Divorce" in the EE form. This is where the whole thing is dicey, I am confused as to the best to select for my case.
Note that I am not travelling with the 2 kids yet, nobody is accompanying me but I have to declare them
So what's your suggestion here please?
@experts in the house, please advise accordingly as this has been delaying me to fill the EE form You were married and now divorced, plain and simple. Approach the religious institution where you got married and obtain a document to back it up. Then go to the court or find a lawyer and concretize the divorce paperwork. Then have her sign consent forms. I don't get why you appear in denial. But you were actually married and now divorced, just not legally yet. Approach a marriage lawyer and make it legal. Otherwise, consult one and get legal advice. |

Ultimately though, there's no kind of lucrative job she can have in Nigeria that will be much better than a lucractive job in Canada, if she searches well for one. She should continue searching for a job in Canada while she is in Nigeria. Good jobs in Canada will ultimately pay more than good jobs in Nigeria, except she got a CEO position in a top bank. Honestly, most of these highest scorers in Jamb took their exam in special centers. Many of them did not deservedly get those scores. Through the connivance of their parents and teachers, they get mercenaries to write these exams for them and end up getting really high scores. The true high scorers end up in the mid 200's, or much less than the highest scorers. This is why many of the supposed highest JAMB scorers end up as underperformers. When I took JAMB that year too, I had a friend from school who score around 310. I knew this guy was an average student, so I knew for sure that he took his exam in the special center. The highest scorer that year ended up maybe a few scores above than 310, so he could easily have been the highest scorer in JAMB. Of course, he was an average student and ended up unable to cope in University, eventually dropping out of school. |

SirBa: Hello Everyone,
So I learnt about this express entry stuff around June last year and immediately swung into action. Applied for my transcript that same week but my school delayed the whole process but the ECA was finalized in February this year. I am an engineer with 8 years of work experience and my ECA was done using a masters degree. I did my IELTS exam last month and my score is L-8, R-7, W-7 and S-7.5. Currently my CRS score is 467. I was hopeful I'd max out my IELTS and if I had, my score would have been 476.
My concern is this, I'll be 31 by the end of October which means my CRS score will be reduced to 461 which will be very low considering the scores in the draws which has been in the 480s except I am lucky to be invited using the STEM category draws. I'd like recommendations on how best to increase my score. Learn french. Or if you have a sibling in canada, you get more points. |
